i was referring to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3DS there. It's only in Japan atm

Sorry, it sounded like you we're referring to X and Y. Well that clears up any confusion I guess.

Definitely something I'm getting on the 3DS when the game comes out, I'm glad 3DS is starting to get more games now. I've actually been wondering when they would make a fully 3D Pokemon game.
they actually already have but it's only in Japan currentaly.

Well in development they do, unless they're holding out on the rest of japan. All the versions of the games are being released in october.

The legendaries are in of the video, and have the letter on them. The red bird IS a Y, while the Deer has a X on it.

That doesn't necessarily mean anything. I believe that's a design based on what ever concept they were using for the game story and/or lore of the legendaries.

So far, there are only 2 different theories of to why the games are X and Y. One being coordinates, since this is the first main game to feature a fully 3d game, and DNA based on the X and Y chromosomes from the japanese logos having what looks like part of a double helix.

In terms of chromosomes, I was talking about the game's story or the lore of the legendaries to likely shed like on whether or not the X and Y are to represent chromosomes. Not to mention the design of the legendaries could have been after they desided on X and Y, which wouldn't make sense for the legendaries to be the reason forthe games being X and Y, unless the idea was taken based on what the legendaries look like.

Now I'm not ruling out that idea, but I think it would be pretty boring to see game freak have designed the game based solely on what the games' mascots bodies are shaped like.

According to my sources, they aren't refering to the actual letters X and Y, but to the 3D/Cordinant plains, X Y and Z.

I was thinking it'd be something DNA-based *shrug*

People have been thinking that as well based on the japanese logo having what looks similar to a double helix in it.
Spoiler: show

Once we get more info on the story or lore of the legendaries, I think we'll have the answer to whether its to represent DNA or coordinates.

Bah! Can't be bothered with all this quoting nonsense. >:O

Darkangel, that could be a possibility for the remakes, but I feel its based on the current generation released while the remakes are in development. Especially from a development PoV. Not to mention that the DS is being shelved by developers now. With the 6th gen to be released, unless the RS remake was being worked on since before the X and Y engine was in a stable release, its probably going to use that instead of an older engine.

Also, I can't help but think Nintendo wouldn't make a 3ds game that doesn't use the stereo 3d of the 3ds. And with them finally pulling the plug on DS games, I doubt they'll make it a DS game.

They official run out of names for the games. Anyways, I didn't like any of the starters so I'll guess I'll go with the water type one and it ditch it and get a new Pokemon like I did in the last games I played. :P

In my opinion, I don't like the 3D. I just feel like Pokemon look better in 2D. BUT THEY BETTER NOT MAKE A R/S REMAKE IN THAT STYLE! >:O It's Because R/S would look so much better in 2D... I guess I just like Pokemon in 2D. The only good thing is that this style is like Fossil Fighters Champions ((By the way, IT'S NOT A RIP OFF OF POKEMON!)) except closer, and I really liked that game, but the 3D looks more cartoonish I'm this new Pokemon game.

We also FINALLY saw what the Pokemon world looks like. It looks like the new region is on top of Unova. I didn't see Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh though... Which is a shame.

The RS remakes will probably be in this new style. Each of the previous remakes used that generations game engine. FR and LG used the RSE engine, while HG and SS used the DPPT engine.

I'm with you on getting the fire starter, unless its another fire/fighting... :l

Well it certainly looks good. I've been wanting a main series game that has proper 3d graphics.

Wow, I completely forgot about this thread. :I

Well, since its here again I might as well ask, has anyone else been enjoying the player-owned ports? I find it to be a great little thing to do throughout the day.

Ok, I give up. And if this wasn't a kid friendly site, I'd go on an AVGN rant right about now. Good luck to the rest of you though.

It is said that when someone beats this game, they transcend past their mortal self.

When you had a gameshark for the game LoZ Ocarina of Time, you could trigger an event about a game that was going to be announced a few months after OoT. The thing you spawned was a space ship from Star Fox 64. You had to defeat it and it gave you a 200 rupee when you defeated it. It had a lot of HP but did only half a heart.

Actually star fox 64 was released before OoT, and the enemy movements from SF64 where used for Volvagia's flying cycle. So all they did was swap out the arwing model for Volvagia's. A lazy thought, but in the industry this kind of laziness helps.

The start of a new year, the start of breaking more resolutions, eh? Well there are only 3 things I can think of that I really wish to occomplish throughout this year:

Do good in college this semester. I managed to fail 4 out of 5 classes in my fall semester. I know, I'm the best student ever :].
To get a job, as a silent, liquid-cooled, overclocked beast of a computer ready for 3d surround won't pay for itself! Although neither will college...
And to actually work out. Me and a few of my friends want to do a group cosplay as several pentakill skins from league of legends, and you can't be this guy (properly) -

without having good abdominal muscles!

Anyways, happy new year to you all! :D
