"Oh yeah, you probably haven't really met them yet, huh?  Let's see, there's Rainbow Dash, who I guess you met just now, and Rarity..."  The dragon's eyes grow distant, and it almost looked like hearts were going to come out of his spines before he shook his head and continued, () "Ahem!  And, um, there's Applejack, though she's probably working most of the time.  Then there's Fluttershy, but she might be a bit scared of strangers still.  And then... Pinkie Pie... you SHOULD have met her the moment you stepped into town, if she's acting normal.  Bright pink, poofy hair, does impossible things, balloons for a cutie mark?"

So THAT'S the pink pony I saw earlier who gasped when she saw me. He then saw her hanging from... the top of his vision? Yes indeedy! Then she just disappeared. Whoa...

"She kinda likes to sneak up on other ponies..."

um...I never saw a pink pony like that before.
You said I should've seen her when I came into town? Is something wrong if I didn't see her?

Spike shrugged.  "She just literally wants to be friends with everypony in Ponyville, it's her 'trademark' or something.  You should've seen the flash mob she made the other day just to welcome Mr. Donkey the other day, had the entire town jumping over rooftops and parading all over the streets with her.  Maybe she just hasn't found out about you yet."

Sounds like everypony in Ponyville has a trademark of some kind. Flower has flowers in her hair, Yellow has color magic, I have muddy hooves 24/7, I guess everyone else here has their thing too. Oh yeah, Flower's my sister.

The dragon shrugged, gesturing at the professor and Twilight with his head.  "I'm just helping out, like usual.  Twilight's the one in charge.  I think we were going to try heading over to a lab someplace, or maybe talk to somepony, but I don't really know."

"Not altogether too long, but yes, I may have seen you once or twice," smiled the researcher.  "How has life been for the two of you?  I hope you've put your training to good use?  I heard the Ministry of Changeling Threat Detection and the Ministry of Defense were hiring Academy graduates for well-paying research and development positions, but I never looked too much into it."

Great. I can tell a changeling apart. Every few seconds, their eyes flash green.

They're supposed to be. And I find it very annoying to have it on just one side. When I make MLP stuffed animals, I put it on both sides!

Yeah. I can teach you. And the color spell! Okay, give me your best shot, think VERY HARD about ONE color. Then, just shoot a blast of magic at anything. If you do it right, it should be the color you thought of.

And the cleaning spell is pretty cool too. First, levitate your object, keep it levitated, then make it non-solid, and the dirt falls right out. Then put it back to normal.

Feather smiled.  "Quite inventive applications of magic!  Have you had any training before at the Royal Academy of Magic in Canterlot?  It seems you have some latent talent in you."

Actually, yes. That's where I learned magic.

And I was educated at Cloudsdale's best flight school.

The professor's eyebrows shot up.  "Indeed?  You wouldn't have happened to take a class in Inter-Magical Forces and Magitronics, would you?  Do you remember me, or my father, Lightning Scroll?"

The dragon strained a bit, looked around to see if anypony else was looking, then nodded, embarrassed.  "I-I guess I could... have some help..."
