Messages - Asterian Starfall

121
Asterian reached blindly for the flower, and upon grasping it, shoved it into his mouth and began to chew as told. The pain from the scream seemed to subside a little, but it was still a nightmare...

He hoped that this flower could work faster as his sight and sanity began to return.
122
Asterian looked at Laserbolt and asked, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Heard wh- AH!"[/glow] His mind had been assaulted by the psychic scream. It felt like white-hot skewers shanking his skull without relent. This was far worse than the mental agony he went through trying to protect himself from Abigail's Deception; he could not even react.

He lay there on the ground, blinded, deaf, and unable to think about anything but the pain.

Would you be able to do my OC Dark Grave?  ^-^ I'm just worried she could be improved and I don't even see it. I won't take anything offensively, so don't hold back. I mean, from what I've seen you're more descriptive then "your OC sucks, and you suck  >:/"

Spoiler: show

Name: Dark Grave
Age: 16
Gender: mare
Race: pegasus
Cutie Mark: a pony skull
Family: none known
Talent: dark magic/necromancy
Likes: solitude, nature, any weather, night
Dislikes: lots of noise, most fillies/colts, bright lights, Celestia or anyone who could interfere with her talent
Enemies: None officially addressed
Friends: Although she never says it, she considers her apprentice, Loath Flash, her friend
Fears: Death, some white magic, powerful ponies, dogs
Bio: Dark Grave was born somewhere uncharted to most ponies, and grew up being taught by her parents. She had no siblings, so she had lots of attention. Her mother was always willing to help her, meanwhile her father worked to keep them alive by gathering food and protecting them from any wild animals, such as Timberwolves. One thing about them, though, was that her father was actually a unicorn; her mother was a Pegasus. Her father had taken her into the woods one day to teach her to gather food that was safe to eat, and to show her what not to eat. While they were there a seemingly mad pony confronted them, demanding them to hand over whatever they had. Of course, this was nothing, for they hadn't even gathered anything yet. This angered the pony, causing him to attack. Dark's father acted quickly, doing the first thing he though of: fight back.
Using his magic he tore a tree limb off, swinging it at the pony.
A sharp crack echoed around the area as the pony slumped over, blood trickling from his head. Dark watched as her father chucked the body away with levitation. He quickly hustled her back to the cottage and told her to stay there for the rest of the day with her mother. But Dark realized something from that experience: she would do anything to use magic. The limits to it were endless. She thought of Celestia and Luna, how they could move the sun and moon! Amazing! She was a Pegasus, but she would still try to learn. In her own way, of course.
Skipping the more grim details, Dark learned magic through using old black magic, long forgotten. She changed things about them so that they could be done with blood, flesh, and bone. No horn needed! To this day she is still practicing, raising her powers. She avoids society as much as possible so as to avoid questions or suspicion. After all, she takes lone, sometimes lost foals and kills them, or cuts off just what she needs and lets them go so long as they don't tell anyone about her.
If they don't bleed to death before they reach anyone first, that is.
(How she met Loath Flash will be described in Loath's bio)
Born in: Unknown
Lives in: A forest some ways away from Ponyville
Theme: none yet

Kind of dark back-story and personality, but intriguing to me personally!

I like how you defy the usual rules of magic with the fact that your OC is a pegasus. She found a way to do something unique to her and to her alone. Quite creative!

On the other hoof, I have to say that murdering young, innocent colts/fillies is a little violent. If you wish to dismiss cannon logic, which I myself do, then by all means continue!

I... do not really have much else to say. I am a little busy at the moment.

Asterian trotted forward, explaining, [glow=yellow,2,300]"None that I know of. From what I understood of it, Chrysteel is trying to mend Twilight's original heart, but what is happening is that somehow a darker, Enraged fragment of her psyche took precedence. Our goal, if I am not mistaken, is to get to her and try to suggest to her what Friendship truly means to get the true Twilight back before Rage consumes her."[/glow]
125
[glow=yellow,2,300]"Precisely, but now is not the time for chit-chat. We need to get moving."[/glow] He Extinguished the fire, and it sizzled softly as Asterian began to lead the way. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Let's go."[/glow]
126
Asterian nodded to Laserbolt. Without hesitation, he put on his cloak and hat, arming his repeater and strapping it to himself. [glow=yellow,2,300]"By all means,"[/glow] he said, [glow=yellow,2,300]"let's get moving."[/glow] He Dispersed the tent, and it unfolded itself outward like a banana peel.

((Well I think a meaning is lost in that or it a really bad joke. If she was in need for help she would say, 'everything is under control'?))

((No, if she was in need of help, she would say she needed help.))
128
Asterian could hear Chrysteel's telepathic message, but he knew something about Chrysteel: If she needed his help, she would say. Everything was under control.

He nods to Moonlight, [glow=yellow,2,300]"My experience with fighting might be of some help, but my technique is what grants me my strength in fighting. Have you seen how when I hurled you to the ground that you retaliate with a bigger and bigger strike, despite the fact they are not hitting? Your emotions are good in fighting; listen to them, but control them so they do not control you. Do you understand?"[/glow]
129
Asterian thought, [glow=yellow,2,300]"She is letting her emotions control her again..."[/glow] A simple counter-spell; Teleport out of radius of the fireballs. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Good try, but no. You are letting your emotions blind you yet again, Moonlight. Control them better, and it will be much harder for me to win!"[/glow]
130
Asterian smiled yet again, this time saying, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Wrong move, Moonlight!"[/glow] He caught his rear hooves on the ground and used Moonlight's own momentum against her yet again, flipping her over after him. He leapt back a short distance away from her, motivating, and almost taunting, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Come on! Stop trying to hit me and hit me!"[/glow]

((Recall in Asterian's character sheet he has knowledge of hoof-to-hoof combat equal to that of a highly trained CQC unit.))
131
Asterian heard a slight whipping sound as he saw Moonlight's hoof. He groaned slightly as he absorbed the blow with his own hoof, waiting for Moonlight to put up a defense. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Not bad. Let's see what else you can do."[/glow] He charged towards Moonlight in an aggressive stance, but only to close a gap. He sent a small volley of punches and kicks to Moonlight.
132
Asterian sees the attack coming. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Marvelous,"[/glow] he thought. He moved his own head out of the way of Moonlight's strike, and using her own momentum against her, took advantage of her loss of balance. He gently chopped at her neck, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Hit,"[/glow] elbowed her back, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Hit,"[/glow] and kicked off the ground, performing a backflip and mimicking firing his repeater. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Big hit."[/glow] When he landed, he noticed Moonlight laying on the ground.

He helped his friend to her hooves, making sure she was not injured. He explained, [glow=yellow,2,300]"The problem with Red fighters is that they often let their emotions take too much control of their actions. It blinds them. Their rage consumes them, and they lose sight of everything. When that happens, it is too easy for Blue fighters,"[/glow] he pointed to himself, [glow=yellow,2,300]"to exploit their blindness. If I were an Enemy to you, you would be dead."[/glow] He backed away from Moonlight. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Let's continue."[/glow]
133
Asterian staggered backward away from Moonlight. He had his answer: She fought with the passion of a Red-style duelist.[glow=yellow,2,300]"Let us see what you can do. Prepare yourself."[/glow] He advanced back on her and began to throw a few blows at her. He swung punch after punch at Moonlight, but not with enough force to injure.
134
Asterian did not change his expression as he continued, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Do you think my spells, my abilities, or my strength has anything to do with how I won?"[/glow] he bowed to meet her face, standing a small distance from her. To put his words a different way, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Do you think that you are powerless against me?"[/glow]

This was not only a question, it was a test. The final test that would tell him everything he needed to know about Moonlight's "color" and fighting style.
135
Try to hear him as she might, Asterian had lived in the Everfree Forest all his life. He knew how to remain hidden, still creeping around her without a sound.

Suddenly, he dropped his Invisibility and dashed towards Moonlight, whom had her back to him. He tapped off the ground and sent himself airborne, gently raking her back with his hoof, imitating a knife slash. He touched down right in front of her with a slightly disappointed look on his face. [glow=yellow,2,300]"How did I beat you?"[/glow] he inquired.
136
Asterian put up a magical barrier of energy, blocking Moonlight from moving towards him. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Typical Red tactic: Avoid and retaliate."[/glow] He lowered the spell shield and mused, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Tell me, Moonlight... How do you hit something you can not see?"[/glow] He smiled mischievously before Vanishing from sight. He crept away from where he stood and silently watched Moonlight's reaction.

What would she do?
137
With almost lightning-fast reflexes, Asterian Pulled the fireball around him. It arced around his form in a perfect circle, before the fireball turned golden and he sent it back, hurtling towards Moonlight.

[glow=yellow,2,300]"Be alert!"[/glow] he warned. He was ready for whatever could possibly happen...
138
[glow=yellow,2,300]"Me? Remember something from your realm? I am sorry, but I do not,"[/glow] he shrugged.

He then looked back to Moonlight. [glow=yellow,2,300]"So, Moonlight. Try to hit me in any way you can."[/glow] He stood in a defensive pose, waiting for her to try something.
139
Asterian broke his gaze from Moonlight, looking up to Laserbolt. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Excelle- Wait a minute."[/glow] He knew something was different. He did not know what, but he just knew it.

[glow=yellow,2,300]"Is there something going on around here I should know about?"[/glow] he asked.
140
Asterian shakes his head softly, saying quietly to himself, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Typical Red..."[/glow]

He raises a hoof and tells her, [glow=yellow,2,300]"To each their own style. When it comes to fighting there are many different maneuvers, techniques, but invariably, the fighter's style can be broken down into one of five categories, or colors as I call them."[/glow]

He flashed a small beam of pure white light into existence, which glowed softly in the air. [glow=yellow,2,300]"White is typical for those who have a defensive style. Ponies who fight this way try to protect themselves at all times, only striking when necessary."[/glow] The white light suddenly flickered into a small orb of water. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Blue is for cunning. Fighters who use this style tend to try to outwit their opponent and gain the upper hoof two moves in advance."[/glow] The water suddenly turned into an amorphous blob of black sludge. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Black represents destruction. Ponies who fight this way will stop at nothing to destroy their opponent, even if that means hurting themselves in the process."[/glow]

He continued, and the sludge globule changed into a glowing red flame. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Red is for the passionate fighter. They let their emotions control their actions and determine what they do, swiftly taking down a foe."[/glow] Finally, the flame morphed into a ball of tightly-knit vines. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Green is for the natural fighter; the one who relies on instinct to achieve victory and avoid defeat."[/glow] The ball of vines suddenly vanished, and upon looking back at Moonlight, he asked, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Are you with me so far?"[/glow]
