Messages - Asterian Starfall

101
Asterian arrived at the terminal in little to no time at all, a surprising fact, given that it was nearly a mile away.

His question still lingered in the back of his mind. What was this threat to the Grid? How come it had hidden itself under his radar? No matter. He walked forward into the terminal, his hood still drawn over his head.
102
Asterian's eyes flickered as he realized who it was. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Laserbolt!"[/glow] he blurted out. [glow=yellow,2,300]"I should have told him to leave Clockwork's corpse be!"[/glow]

As much as he wanted to help Laserbolt, there really was nothing he could do. Fifteen seconds. Not nearly enough time to make his way to Laserbolt. All he could do was wait and hope Laserbolt could defend himself.
103
((How'd you know I'm left-handed irl?!  O:))

Asterian looked down at his glowing hoof, looking over the contours of the mark on it. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Chrysteel, I feel like I should know what this means... but I do not understand."[/glow]

His eyes turned back to their yellow topaz color, and his voice reverted to normality. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Wait wait, 55.215 seconds until what impacts now?"[/glow]
104
Starfall clutched at his throat, confused by the sudden change of cadence in his voice. He felt an odd sensation pulsing through him, but not odd enough to alarm. Rather, it was like a soft, fuzzy feeling. [glow=purple,2,300]"I-I- What is going on?!"[/glow] His eyes narrowed slightly as he began to grow worried about himself. What had happened to change his voice? Why were his eyes amethyst instead of their natural topaz glare?

Perhaps Twilight could better explain. [glow=purple,2,300]"I hate to break up this precious moment, but can anypony tell me what is going on?"[/glow]
105
Asterian hears a pinging noise from his flank, and he looks down to realize there was a message.

-----

Upon reading the message, he nodded his cloaked head and began to walk out of the building, towards the city administration terminal as instructed. At least now he had his answers, but one question lingered. What was this threat, and how come he never heard of it? He was the Ghost of the System, after all. He saw nearly everything. Perhaps he simply made a mistake.

Nonetheless, he continued walking towards their new meeting location, hoping to get there as soon as he could.
106
Asterian stood there with a broad smile barely visible under the brim of his hat. To see a mare being freed from her inverted prison after so long was like physically being able to see Harmony returning to the world.

Equestria seemed to regain some of its old enchantment. It seemed to be just a little bit brighter. A little bit happier. That, in and of itself, made all the difference. He walked over and joined in the hug, unable to conceal his emotions. Even though he had not been the one discorded for a millennium, he felt as if he had sprouted wings.

He said, [glow=purple,2,300]"It is good to have you ba- What the?"[/glow] His voice had changed. Where there was once his masculine, suave accent, there was now a feminine, charming timbre. His eyes also seemed to glow an amethyst-like color. Had the re-awakening of one of the Elements done something to awaken his own?
107
Asterian sits over near one of the windows, patiently awaiting his mentor's arrival. He looked out over the illuminated city with a watchful eye, just as he did before.

[glow=skyblue,2,300]"Wait, Salia is never late."[/glow] The stallion's face, though hidden behind his hood, turned to a concerned look. Maybe she had just forgotten about the meeting for a minute. Maybe there were other, more important matters.

Still, it concerned him. Could she not have simply messaged him?
108
Asterian stood amongst the group, never speaking or making a sound, save the occasional cocking of his repeater. Many things ran through his mind. Before Clockwork's demise, he was almost care-free, not questioning the situation or the world he was in. Now, though, he began to doubt his actions. [glow=yellow,2,300]"What do we do with Discord if we win?" "Will we win?" "What should happen if we lose?" "What is to become of Chrysteel and I when this is over?"[/glow]

He just... stood there, unable to voice anything. *Click, chink, cha-kink*
109
It did not take too long on hoof, but Asterian made it back to the city core. He looked around to make sure nopony was looking around at him. He smiled briefly before he activated his Cloaking. Within an instant, he Vanished from the visible spectrum. He walked forward, across the busy street and into the tower Unseen.

He entered the elevator and proceeded to the top floor. As soon as the doors shut, he dropped the cloaking completely, reappearing to be just as whole and visible as before. [glow=skyblue,2,300]"I just hope that Salia is here,"[/glow] he sighed to himself.

Good lord, everyone's so quick to forget about the BEACON OF LIGHT that came from Clockwork's brain.
Magus, could I take a brief interlude as Queb? Clockwork is going to be inactive for quite some time whilst his systems restart and somepony is going to have to look after him.

Everypony thinks him to be dead!  lol
This is embarrassing; I'm burying him!

Asterian rose from his place, still slightly in tears. Why he wept so much over Clockwork, he did not know; he barely knew him. What was apparent, however, was that Discord did not mind taking innocent lives, something Asterian had known for the longest time now. He would never forget what that vile, crawling vermin had done to this world, nor would he soon forget what He could make others do. He would never forget.

He tossed his hat aside, igniting his horn as he began to bury the mechanoid he called "friend." Slowly, he magically dug a hole into the ground, humming the saddest song any of the group probably ever heard.

Spoiler: Asterian's Lament • show
[glow=yellow,2,300]"So nere ey...
Solari orw mei...
Mento mere...
Allasir ona vi..."
[/glow]

In the common tongue, this translates to be:

[glow=yellow,2,300]"Sleep now, Friend...
For thee have passed on...
Death's embrace...
We'll see you on the Moon..."
[/glow]

((In his accent, it rhymes.))

((Time to reveal a darker side of Asterian.))

Asterian looked at Chrysteel, [glow=yellow,2,300]"You mean to tell me that what was in me now resides in Shade?"[/glow]

He saw out of the corner of his eye some sort of figure moving towards them. What was it? He snapped his head over towards its direction, only to realize it was the robot Chrysteel described. Clockwork.

He was hurtling towards them, when suddenly, he just... collapsed. With Clockwork unconscious, perhaps it was safe to lower his spell... He dropped the Silence and rushed over to Clockwork, hoping that light from his eyes was not what he thought it was.

He looked at his broken, limp form... He was... dead. [glow=yellow,2,300]"No. No. No."[/glow] His topaz eyes began to water. Rage, sorrow, and far more complex emotions ran through him. He kicked Clockwork's cane out of his claw, [glow=yellow,2,300]Grraaaaaaaa![/glow] His yell echoed across the plains for what seemed like miles. He began to shake with fury, [glow=yellow,2,300]"You have disturbed the balance in this world for too long, Discord! I hope you burn in Tartarus for your crimes! BURN, YOU SADISTIC SNAKE! BURN!"[/glow]
113
Asterian responded, [glow=yellow,2,300]"I would not think of it. I just can not let her suffer that mental agony like that."[/glow]

He felt Chrysteel shift on his back, and he knew she was trying to awake. As he could not coax her into awakening from noise, he gently nuzzled her. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Chrysteel, wake up,"[/glow] he mouthed, not that she could hear him. Wait! Of course!

He closes his eyes and begins to use the Link. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Chrysteel, darling? It is time to awaken. Break from your slumber..."[/glow]

@everypony:

Canterlot doesn't exist anymore, remember?  The entire Canterlot mountain range is the Chaos Castle now.  Going in there's like walking straight into the Game Over sign.

I knew that. Just thought I would play along and interrupt Laserbolt's plan... not unlike he interrupted mine and Chrysteel's.  lol
115
Asterian looked at him as if to say, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Not now!"[/glow] but he replied without words, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Because it is my spell, and sound and sight are not the only spells that alert others about others. It does not cut us off, just noise."[/glow]

Element of Magic...

lol Trixie would know that best of all!
117
Asterian was about to begin trotting off in the direction of Canterlot, but something made him stop. Something told him there was a presence here. He could nearly hear it speaking to him, or so he thought.

He looked around briefly for any sign of foreign life to him. Nothing in the fields to the north, nothing to the east, nor the south, nor the west... Wait a minute. There was something there. It looked like a ghost of a former self; a being not of this realm. It was wearing a hooded cloak, and it looked like...

[glow=yellow,2,300]"Shade!"[/glow] yelled Asterian, or that is, he would have if it could have been heard. He motioned for Laserbolt to grab Moonlight and follow him. He himself walked towards Shade, managing to get to her and Silence the area around her.
118
[glow=yellow,2,300]"Let us make haste,"[/glow] mouthed Starfall. [glow=yellow,2,300]"There is little time."[/glow]

With that, he lifted Chrysteel onto his back, looking to Laserbolt for direction.
119
Asterian could not hear Laserbolt, but based on the way his lips moved, his point was made. Starfall looked at Laserbolt's horn, then at his own, realizing whose was lit. He pointed at Laserbolt's extinguished horn and made notice of his own.

[glow=yellow,2,300]"Whatever happened, it stopped that incessant yelling,"[/glow] he mouthed. [glow=yellow,2,300]"I suppose we keep moving while we can."[/glow]
120
Asterian gritted his teeth... The noise... It was too much.

[glow=yellow,2,300]"For Celestia's sake, SILENCE!"[/glow] An aura dispersed around them, and suddenly, the screaming ceased. It was as if the air had been Deafened by Asterian's words. He picked himself up shakily, dusting himself off and saying, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Well... I am glad that is over,"[/glow] only to realize his voice had no sound. [glow=yellow,2,300]"What the..."[/glow] he mouthed. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Hmm... I will bet this could come to be useful."[/glow]
