Original Characters / Take two of attempt of first pony character

Ok I was one sentence off from finishing my first pony character post thing here and windows then decided it was the perfect time to restart... 
So Here's what I remember trying to post. Will fix and revamp tomorrow morning.
Name: Jelly (still need a first or last name to this... )
Race: Earthpony
Gender: Stallion
Age: 21
Mane/tail: Deep Purple
Coat: a brownish Red
Cutie Mark: a purple mason jar with a cloth cap
Personality: Typically a level headed individual, but know to have a goofball side when wound up.
Birthplace: Ponyville
Home: Ponyville
Likes: Candies, cookies, and generally anything sweet.
Dislikes: Bitter foods and snakes that are way too salty
Back Story: Growing up as a colt in Ponyville makes for a fairly easy lifestyle. Unfortunately, as most know, your cutie mark is another story. Jelly's parents operate a flower and spice shoppe were he helped tend to the plants in the gardens and greenhouse. It didn't take long for him to find out that most flowers were sweet to taste. Nor did it take long for his parents to figure out were all the flowers were going. Once Jelly's parents figured out why he was eating the flower gardens they sought help in town from someone who could aid or remove this sweet tooth of his.
As it happens to be in Ponyville, the bakers down the way, Mr. and Mrs. Cake offered a possible solution to the problem. Jelly would become an assistant pastry chef. Well burnt cake, after burnt cupcake, after burnt cookies, his ambition of a possible pastry career were squashed.
"I just don't get it." Jelly muttered to him self one night. "I'm okay with fritters, pies... Even turnovers! So why not cakes or cookies? What am I doing wrong?" He felt as though he was missing something. Something obvious. Something that had to do with filling perhaps. It was the only thing different about everything he gets right and wrong. It was then an idea dawned on him. "I got it!" Jelly said as he ran out of his room and into the kitchen. He didn't know what he was making yet. He just knew how to go about it, sort of.
The next morning his parents woke up to the smell of freshly baked bread, apple turnovers, and something sweet smelling. When his parents asked him what was going on, Jelly responded in a way that sounded like gibberish to his still groggy parents. After placing his parents at the table and serving his breakfast to them, he had calmed down enough to explained what had happened that night. He explained why he did it, what he did, and asked them how it turned out. But before they could answer, Jelly passed out at the table. Little colt, no sleep, and a long night finally caught up to him.
When Jelly woke up that afternoon he noticed several ponies looking at him. So he crawled out of bed and greeted them groggily, "Hello everypony. What are you doing in my room?" It was a moment later he noticed he was looking at a bunch of mirrors. "Well, that explains all of you ponies." He said with a laugh as he looked at his reflections in the mirrors. Something seemed off, like it was changed, but in a good way. It was a couple more moments before it hit him.
"I... I got it!" Jelly yelled before bolting out of his room to find his parents. "Mom! Dad!" He yelled, "I got it! I finaly got my c-umffmrrf!" He stopped at his mothers hooves with a piece of bread in his mouth. So he chewed it for a moment savoring the sweet taste on it then ate the rest in one bite. Satisfied and a little confused he asked, "Did I make that?"
His mother nodded yes and his eyes began to water. "Mom, I finally g..." He began saying before being interrupted by a crash back in his room. One of the mirrors fell over and shattered. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." He said said quickly.
"It's alright." His mother said with a sigh. "I'll clean up. You just make more of... what ever that was you made."
And from that day on, Jelly has been unable to remake what he did that night.
Notes of things that are obviously needed: Jelly's parents names , Jelly's first name or last. one or the other

Epic story, good character. Though I've never been a fan of playing an insane or going insane characters, they are always fin being in a group with. Ya never know what will happen with one (or many) in a group.

Erm... Pardon me as I'm not exactly used to this whole forum thing quite yet.
I'm known as Serrated Jelly. I know it's a bit silly but it's a name I've stuck to for about five years now. So, why change an odd thing?
I've been a Brony since the first season but never really stated it or shared it or really let many know. So with the third season in full swing, I figured it's time to actually start embracing this. And what better way then with an development game of ponies with those of ponies and possibly ponies.
Looking forward to the game's launch.
