Why does everyone assume that any weird dance is the Harlem shake just so they can say they dislike it.
Disliking it is fine , but a person doesn't have to try to bring it up so it can be said.

The fact that there doesn't seem to be any stories about someone refusing to accept being turned into some powerful being because it's their fate to become some famous hero or whatever, it's not that they won't help solve the problem (put in as much hard work as necessary maybe even more just to be safe) it's just for whatever reason they don't want the power in question or the attention for that or the kind of life that comes with it; they just want to be left alone. (this doesn't mean they are not willing to accept friendship if anyone wants to be their friend.
Or maybe a story where they where it was their fate to be the main villain with a lot of power but they refused it only being transformed half way and now everyone is angry at them for rejecting their fate.
