Tian, after having overheard the conversation between the three, walked to Wavelenght and placed a hoof on his shoulder. If he is that desperate about the stuff he has seen that night, he would literally lose his mind and sanity if he knew half of what she did. - "Wavelenght, I am sorry for being so direct, but please, stop being so desperate about everything." - She stared him in the eyes - "I know it must have been a traumatic experience, and that a lot of what you thought to be impossible is happening in such a short span of time, but remember: it does not matter how much we know, there are always things we do not, probably many more than what we do. So, we need to have our minds opened to assimilate any new event that defy what we believe to be the truth. You wanting it or not, you have done what you have done. You can choose to try to lock it in the depths of your mind as something that cannot be remembered, or you can, as a scientist, accept it's existence and try to analyze it, to unite what you have discovered and what you already knew, trying to figure out any missing hole between them. Take this trip to this dimension as a huge opportunity to learn what others cannot. Otherwise, you'll be failing as a scientist." - After saying that, she gave him a reassuring smile - "And if you ever want to discuss anything about this matter, about the things happening in this plane, you can come to me and I will be glad to help."

Stop discussing that! She didn't do a sonic rainboom.
First, as the others said already, she didnt leave a trail.
Secondly, she did fly UP. A sonic rainboom is nearly, if not completely
impossible without the help of gravity, especially if you are so bad
at flying like twillight...

Why stop? It's a nice discussion about something that happened at the end of the season 4 premier, so it's on topic. And RD actually did a Sonic Rainboom flying up at Cadence and Shining Armor's wedding. You cannot affirm it's impossible to do without the help of gravity, you can only affirm it's harder. But indeed, it's impossible for a bad flyer like Twilight, and that's the point of discussion: did Twilight do something that should be impossible for her?

It's a rainboom. The name comes from rainbows. I doubt it would be called like that if it didn't always made rainbow after the pegasus. Also I think the trail and explosion is because of the decomposition of the light rather than RD's mane colour.

If you consider the physics in Equestria to be like ours, yes. But It might not be like that. We have already seen that rainbows in Equestria aren't cause by light decomposition, but crafted in a factory at Cloudsdale. Also, the trail might not be exactly the afterimage of RD's mane, as we've seen other trails that don't exactly match their mane/body patterns, such as the thunderclouds from the Wonderbolts or the zigzag lightning from Lightning dust. It's named "Rainboom" because the only seen Sonic Rainboom was a rainbow made by a pegasus with rainbow trail. We cannot be sure about anything we don't have enough data about. No one can say I'm wrong if I say the trail of a pegasus has the same properties as the magic aura of unicorns, as there are some theories that defines the ability to fly as the way pegasus use magic.

It may but it's not. A sonic rainboom needs top speed of a professional flyer and Twilight barely flies. Also a sonic rainboom produces a rainbow and rainbow trail (it's called a rainboom for a reason). Twilight used magic while flying to make the effect.

I have said that before in another thread, but saying again, we cannot affirm that a Sonic Rainboom is always a rainbow, as we only saw a single pegasus doing it and, coincidentally, it was a pegasus with a natural rainbow trail.

But indeed, even if it looked like a Sonic Magicboom(?), I doubt Twilight would be able to do it without the help of her magic, be it to cause the effect or to boost her speed momentarily.

Definitely was not disappointed! I loved the flashback scenes and Discord's scenes.

I kind of like that they retired the elements of harmony because that gives us a change of pace.

I really, really hope that they do something like have the mane six find the keys throughout the season and then unlock the box during the finale. That would help the finale have really good pacing because it would be more about the box, what's inside, the lore about it, and whatever is going on when they open it, and less... rushing a story about how they find the keys.

I don't mind if they find two keys per episode, which would mean three episodes where they find keys. But I think it would definitely be interesting and awesome if they find one key per episode, and the keys are found during episodes that are about a specific character of the mane six. Example: During an episode that's all about Pinkie Pie and a lesson that she learns, they find Pinkie Pie's key.

Plus, it would give me something fun to do after the finale. I would definitely rewatch the premiere, the six key finding episodes, and the finale all in a little marathon. It would be like a movie!

This marathon idea is really awesome! I haven't tought of that!

And I agree with you about everything. The way they did this episode, and knowing they will have more than 20 episodes to work everything out, I really think that's their initial plan.

That box, keys, Tree of Harmony and mystery around it are burning my brain with all the fresh possibilities and theories it's making me think! It's a concept so new it doesn't give a single clue about what might be inside! Another powerful gemstone or amulet? The Seed of Harmony? The source of infinite magic and/or knowledge? The possibilities are infinite!

I guess this fact is the thing that makes me like this premier even more than the Return of Harmony.

Even if we got here quite easy, thanks to the music montage, I don't think it'll happen again anytime soon. Unless it turns out to be a musical RP, but I highly doubt it." - She looked at Pinkie, waiting for her opinion about the last statement. But before she answered, Tian walked to her and whispered. - "Oh, and please, don't mention that about the Elements here. That was too much for me to process in a single day, and I need to focus on this story here."

The premier was indeed awesome!

Loved the flashbacks, the scenes with Luna and Celestia, Discord being himself even if reformed, Twilight Sparkle being Twilight Sparkle even with wings and the new story to be unfold in the season. This time I really think they got the pace right, as the story if this premier is not over. There is a lot more to come, and I'm really looking foward to how it will come together with the usual slice of life comedy episodes throughout the season.

Not really being able to find many faults in this premier, maybe only the usual Celestia and Luna being useless against the enemy, I can really say it was one of the best episodes I've seen.

Tian and Arty thanked for the tea, sat and, after a first sip, Tian started explaining. - "Since we woke up today, all of Ponyville, and maybe the entire Equestria, was covered in darkness. After getting to Fluttershy, we started to understand we were in the Plane of Concepts, where everything that affects our plane but cannot be seen, the things we try to hide and fight internally against, such as our Fears, our other selfs we try to hide, and things like that physically lives." - She stopped to take another sip to wet her throat before continuing - "Usually, they stay in a different and isolated plane, even if it seems to be the same place. But it seems that, this time, they are trying to fuse the plans and conquer the real one, feeding on pony's fears. Now our only hope is to gather the Elements of Harmony and, using it's powers, banish them once and for all." - After finishing her explanation, she took another sip of the tea. - "And I must say, this tea is delicious!"

Just like the other three, Rarity was also impressive to Tian. Her aura was so strong with a mix of her Generosity and determination she could almost see it clearly. And with her angelic voice and appearance, the unicorn seemed to be something from out of this world. - "It's truly a pleasure to meet you, Rarity! My name is Tian Long." - She gave her usual wide smile.

Arty was still agape. She was simply stunning. After shaking his head and trying to recover his composure, he introduced himself - " I.. Uh.. I'm Arty Brightshadow. Nice to meet you." - He said nervously, barely being able to keep eye contact.

With distinctive handwriting and things you only say to each other, I think it will work perfectly!" - She said excited - "But..." - She started staring at the ghostly pony walking around. - "I really hope she finds an easy way to come, because I don't remember the dance you had to do to come across, and she doesn't seem to be the type who would do that knowing there were people looking"

Sorry if it seemed I was cutting you and Pinkie. I, now more than anyone, know the importance of what Pinkie has to say. She is the GM's character, after all." - She smiled and winked at him, knowing he probably woudn't understand.

I don't know if she would believe in a full explanation of everything as I would write." - She gave a little embarassed smile.

"And I'm Arty Brightshadow. Nice to meet you too!" - Arty smiled and waved a hoof. Even if he weren't a flame pony, the white spots dancing over his black mane and tail could draw some attention.

Tian turned to Applejack - "So, getting back on the subject, if things were so simple, why did you ask us for plans?" - She had a puzzled expression, funny enough to cause a small giggle from Arty.

"Well, first of all, we need to make ourselfs noticed" - Tian started looking around. Being in a boutique, it wouldn't be hard to find some threads. Picking a bunch of them, she started sharing them with the others. - "So, here's the plan. Using these threads, we right messages around the boutique and, after all is done, we draw her attention to them with some sort of sound, like throwing small objects on the ground, closing and opening doors, things like that."

Picking a roll of blue thread, Arty asked - "What exactly should we write?"

Tian started thinking, and started speaking any idead that popped out of her mind - "Well, we could start with a simple message, like 'hi'. It's small enough for her to think it might be a coincidence, but already a formed word to awaken her curiosity. Then we can keep going with smal words in sequence, but away one from another, forming a sentence like 'we need your help'. After that, she might be already convinced it's not a simple coincidence, and hopefully, subtle enough to make her more curious than frightened. Then, the thread can guide too... Some sort of notebook, or any kind of paper we can write a summary of our problem and the instructions to come here, because it would be hard to explain everything to her using threads. If we are convincing enough, the problem is solved."

"But if she start thinking it's all just a prank?" - Arty asked, trying to think on any holes the plan might have.

"Well... In this case, we might finish her off by writing in front of her, with pencil or threads, the word 'please'. It might be enough to convince her." - She turned to Applejack. - "Do you think it's going to work? Or do you think it isn't going to be enough? I don't know Rarity enough, but you do."
