Seeming to become more comfortable without really realizing it, Coral sits up straighter and tilts his ears back.
"Well...I've lived in what all you ponies call the Everfree forest for almost as long as I can remember, by myself. It's how I got my cutie mark... His voice and confidence both fade slightly as he remember that he's talking to potential new pony friends. "I..I think, anyways...you know...?"
Looks back and forth between Star and Physics nervously as if expecting them to judge him, but still finds himself a bit sad when Star leaves, waving his hoof slowly.
"bye"

Looking down nervously, Coral gives Physics an apologetic look as he quietly introduces himself to Thunder Star.
"H..Hey.. I'm..um.. Coral Helix. I'm not...from around here."
There are two now! One was starting to be okay, but two strange ponies is a bit extreme, isn't it??? No, that's probably normal... Right? Ponies normally talk to more than one pony! He'd do this. He did say at least one!

Coral raises his head and un-narrows his eyes, looking to the side for a moment and sighing, but looking a little confused by Physics initial reaction. Of course I'm the same pony...! Shaking his head to clear those thoughts away, Coral replied,
"I'm sorry as well. I should have been more upfront then, and...even now. So I guess I'm saying that it's okay. It's my fault too."
Breathing deeply and giving a nervous smile, Coral raised out a hoof in a kind gesture, but brings it back when he twitches his gaze over to the other pony, drawing himself up into a sitting position and nervously hoofing at the ground.
"Err...Hey."
"I'm sorry as well. I should have been more upfront then, and...even now. So I guess I'm saying that it's okay. It's my fault too."

Flailing his hooves pointlessly in midair, Coral gives up on running by the time he's been set down and looks at the dirt, kicking it repeatedly with one of his front hooves. Stubbornly and sounding a bit peeved, Coral replies.
"Yea, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be? I just...I just tripped. What do you want?"
Keeping his head down, Coral looks up with his eyes and narrows them slightly, clearly trying to seem as tough as he can despite the situation.

Coral pokes the edge of his eye over the top of his table/cover, trying to see if they'd noticed him. It looked like they were a bit alarmed, so they probably had. He sat back down and tried to think over his situation. There didn't seem to be any other way out! Quietly, to himself,
"Nnhuuh. That's the pony from eaarrliiieeerrr....
"
Cautiously, Coral attempts to edge himself out from the table stealthily, trying to make a break for another table further away, but getting his backhoof caught on the tableleg didn't help in the slightest, and he succeeded only in slipped right onto his face, stars whirling around his head.

Poking his head cautiously around a corner near the center of Ponyville, Coral again silently cursed himself for having forgotten to actually buy things with the money he'd earned. If he didn't do it today, he would have to make the trip again tomorrow, and he wasn't sure who to ask about the weather around here, so he figured it would just be best to get it over with.
Seeing noone around, Coral trotted around the corner towards Sugar Cube Corner, planning on buying some sweets to take back home with him. Just thinking about it made him eager! Closing his eyes to imagine the mouthwatering treats, he didn't notice Physics until he was only a couple ponylengths away from him, jumping up in surprise and dashing for the nearest cover, hoping his conversation with the strange other pony had distracted him enough to not notice.

Coral looks hopeful, his tail and ears perking up eagerly at the change of attitude, but narrowing his eyes suspiciously after looking at Physics. That pony...
"Now look here, I know pity when I see it!"
With that, Coral galloped out of Ponyville, back to his house in the Everfree Forest, a sad look pasted onto his face.

Coral blinked a couple times, frowning stubbornly. This first meeting wasn't going too well. He had to think! And quickly, at that! He certainly couldn't tell the truth. That would make him seem not only like a desperate pony, but also make him seem even weirder than he must already seem. Maybe...
Oh well, I mean obviously. I was just waiting for my friends to get here. My many, many popular and not-weird friends. I'm sure you know how it is, being a resident of Ponyville.

While trotting Physics sees Coral sitting around, and wonders for a moment why a pony would be sitting around town doing nothing, rather then sit at home, or be going on his business. Coral twitches in surprise, switching his posture to a four-hoofed defensive stance, and immediately backing away slightly, his eyes wide from the sudden approach of a strange pony, but eventually shaking his head harshly and going back to sitting. Clearing his throat and looking to the side, Coral attempts to be as casual as possible despite his admittedly strange initial reaction.
"Oh, uh. You know, just...hanging out. Doing things. Just finished my shopping. And stuff." Coral shakes his saddlepack for emphasis.

Everypony seemed friendly, of course, but it was hard not to be nervous. He had spent the vast majority of his life alone in the woods, surrounded only by the nature there that everypony here seemed to be so scared of.
It would be silly to stay alone because it was what he was used to, though. At the very least, it wouldn't hurt to sell some of the plants and herbs around his house in exchange for some luxury items he normally wouldn't have. Sighing nervously and looking around, Coral starts to walk towards the center of Ponyville, the saddlebags on his back rustling slightly.

Trying to keep his head down as best he can, Coral continues into the town and into the shopping district. He goes about his business as normal, and everyone he spoke with was surprisingly friendly. As such, he wanted desperately to return their friendliness but simply couldn't bring himself to so, always departing from the bargaining early, even leaving behind a couple bits during one such occasion.
Coral mentally scolded himself for being so antisocial, and resolved that he most definitely had to make at least one friend here in Ponyville before he would let himself go home. Looking around at all the bright and bubbly ponies, though, he felt a little overwhelmed. It was a daunting feeling, and instead of talking to any of them he just sat on his haunches in the middle of town and looked around. His business here was finished, he thought, so he should have plenty of time with his new self-appointed mission. No hurry. In reality, that was just a rationalization for not being able to bring up the courage to talk to a stranger pony.

I'm not sure on the canon behind a non-violent Timber Wolf, but assuming it's plausible, it could create an interesting dynamic between my character and this one. Some studies may be in order...

From what I can tell, Cutie Marks aren't determined by the Ponies. It seems more related to a "destiny" kind of thing. If I'm wrong, someone feel free to correct me here.

I feel I should mention that the history doesn't mention his cutie mark as being DNA simply because I have serious doubts that ponies even know what DNA is. However, it seems that the system governing who gets what cutie mark is, at least partially, omnipotent. So, in pony-words, it's merely described as a double helix with connecting bars. Or, just a double helix.
Hence "Twisted Designs" since DNA is a twisted shape, and contains the 'designs' for creating an organism.
