Eventually Graves reached his house, sighing to himself. His wife came over and gave him a little kiss. His niece did the same, but soon Grave's wife stopped and suddenly yawned a bit.

It could be just that she was tired, but there seemed to be something else. Something...odd about that yawn.

((Honestly, you could still bluff him. He's nervous, you got a closed up witness because you pushed too hard. You need him to confess, right? So try to ease him in. And there's always the option to spy on him, see if he produces the stolen item. I'm not leaving you with nothing, I kinda just want to see what you'll do. Mystery RPs aren't meant to be straightforward. You just ran into another obstacle. So just problem solve it. The witness is trying to assert control because you've been basically accusing him. But that doesn't mean you can tail him. It's elementary, dear Watson.)

Graves nodded off, walking back towards downtown. He did seem a tad shaken up, and perhaps had gone a little defensive. But it'd taken him awhile to reach that verdict, and if he still had the tooth, perhaps following him would reveal some sort of pawn shop. Or perhaps exploring the factory might reveal some clues. Or going back to his house, considering that his niece and wife still had quite a bit to talk about.

Grave's eyes suddenly narrowed. "I'd rather think you need a warrant for that kind of question officer. Now if you'll excuse me, I have important things to do and not a lot of time to do them."
4
Graves suddenly looked very...very flustered. "Ummm...well...I wasn't stealing or trespassing or nothing..."
5
"Steal? NO! NO!" Graves held his hooves up, although his face was turning red. "I'd never steal that! Listen, the guy was a genius! I respected him, alright? I'd never steal his own tooth! What do you think I am?"
6
Graves just kept his mouth shut, before shaking his head. "Ummm...anyway, I would never hurt him alright? Whatever trouble he's accusing me of he's wrong. I appreciate him. Haven't you seen that golden tooth? It's amazing! Who wouldn't like a pony like him?"
7
"Well technically I'm getting a partnership." Graves stated with a smug smile. "Just as long as I cough up the funds to buy it. Then the carpet business would be my business."

He grinned broadly, before looking back. "Wait a second..."

8
"That's just insane!" Graves yelled back. "I'd never steal something from him! Ever! I treasured his business like I did my own!"
9
Mr. Graves turned and gave the detective an incredulous look. "Are you serious? What do you mean stolen? And me?"
10
"Ummm well...oh dear sir, this is a factory!" He suddenly went to the other stallion. "The store is the other way good sir."
11
"I...umm...why do you ask?" Graves was sweating. "I...honestly don't know anything about it."

12
"There's a good dozen cloaks we find everyday. I don't know if our thief would be so naive as to allow a cloak to lead back to them, do you?"
13
"Well I thought the name was quite obvious. Carpets of course!" Graves chuckled. "Best darn carpets in the kingdom. Why do you ask? Looking to buy a carpet perhaps?"
14
"Either a pegasus or a griffon, hard to tell under the cloak. But they were departing the house and then well...nothing. Just vanished."
15
"Oh really?" Graves suddenly smiled. "Well welcome to Carpet-Teria. I'm Mr. Graves, owner of the place."

16
Not Graves gave the guard an odd look before turning and seeing the detectives up ahead. "Oh, hello there! Can I help you gents?"
17
At that moment, however, a grey stallion was exiting through the gate, tipping his hat at the guard. "Take care Baggages."

The guard simply scoffed. "Yeah yeah, take care Mr. umm...Not Graves."
18
"If so, then they are rather silly to unveil their plot." Stablewing shook his head. "So far, we've found nothing though at the scene. The best we have is one witness account that they saw something zoom past them overhead the night of the theft.
19
Stablewing nodded. "Indeed, most ponies feel it's just an annoying inconvenience, but it's making a lot of us fear for our own safety and security. It's only a matter of time before the thief tries to steal something bigger. This was the latest note they left at the office."

Detectives! Is it really so hard to see the rhyme and reason to such treason? That such fun can be derived from being so naughty? That's the question isn't it. Well...ta ta ta for now. Only three days till the slipper is mine to be found.

Stablewing opened the door, a small, pleasant faced grey stallion. "Thank you for coming on such short notice, ma'am. As you can imagine, this crook is quite a bizarre thief. Nothing of value, but an odd knick-knack collection. There might be something to it, I believe."
