Well, the DVD version has made it to Netflix now. Of course there's been some miscommunication or something because everyone was expecting a streamed version when the post went up so I'm seeing a lot of unhappy people. I'm sure it's only a matter of time though considering how fast they got season 3 up there once it finished airing.

Found a ponified unicorn from the Meet the Pyro video.

Honestly, I'd consider snips and snails as antagonists rather than villains. In fact, I think most of the "bad" characters in the show qualify as antagonists rather than villains, with exceptions such as when Luna was still Nightmare Moon, Discord until he was reformed, Chrysalis, Sombra and even Trixie when she was under the influence of the Alicorn Amulet.

MLP: FiM SD Archive / Re: Unicorn Magic
2013 Jul 12, 13:12:48
The only real problem I see with some of this theorizing is that in the show it was stated that most unicorns only have a little magic that benefits their special talents ("I thought unicorns were only supposed to have a little magic that matches their special talents" - Spike, Boast Busters).

Seeing as rarity's talent requires a fine artistic sense and an acute attention to detail it only makes sense that her magic would allow her mass telekinetic control and precision. And twilight's special talent is magic so I would go as far as to say she's in a completely different class of magic from your average unicorn.

Granted, I'm sure some of the things discussed still have an influence on a unicorn's magic, but I think there's still a limit in pure magic potential that would keep most unicorns from achieving what twilight has.

Alicorns are another matter of course, especially after finding out that cadence was originally a pegasus, actual magic ability seems more of a non-issue after that (though I'd assume it would help).

I think there was a tweet somewhere already that stated that flash wouldn't be appearing in season four, and honestly it wouldn't surprise me either as they're probably already done with most of it by now anyway.

On the other hand it wouldn't surprise me if he started making appearances in any following seasons.

he was there on the equestria side, however, I don't think he's actually going to make an appearance in season four.

I believe his name is Flash Sentry, and the reason they probably stuck with the pony names was likely for simplicity's sake. Granted if you imagine the human reality using that way of naming for as long as equestria has then I doubt it would seem as weird to them.

Also, I will admit, Sunset's reaction at the end did seem a bit off. Granted she did get harmonized in the same way Luna did at the beginning of the series so that would be why she didn't turn on Twilight at that point.

Watched it through the previously posted link, and I will admit it was not what I was expecting. In a good way mind you, I actually liked it much to my surprise.

In regards toward the alternate reality bit, that's all I really saw it as. An entirely different world that just happens to have striking similarities between individuals. I think one of Rarity's lines may have even hinted at there being another Twilight Sparkle native to that reality (was something like: you look just like a girl I met in this other city with a dog just like him. or something, I'd have to watch it again to confirm).

If true, this would make Sunset Shimmer the only individual with no hinted at counterpart and accentuates just how out of place Twilight really is and why Celestia warned against them all going (Honestly, I wonder if Sunset may even be native to the human world, if not then she's definitely acclimated to it since it seems she's been there a while already).

As far as age discrepancies between Equestria and the human world, well, I'll just leave that as plot point and disregard because as I said, they're two different groups of individuals who just happen to be very similar. They don't have to be exactly the same which wouldn't even work very well given the theme of the movie.

That said, it was still a little strange and not something I would normally watch (ironically, I thought the same about the TV show itself), and definitely not on a level where I would've seen it in theaters in person, but it wasn't bad either and I'll probably watch it again down the line. Especially since it's got a few points with Twilight as a pony getting more comfortable with her new position as a princess.

Edit: As for the whole romance thing. Eh...I will admit I hope they really don't push it in upcoming seasons of the show, but seeing as how Twilight is an intelligent individual, I would say she started liking him so much because of how much he was actually helping her and how nice he was being towards her (and yes, the hormones of her new body probably didn't help) but overall I'd say it was an attraction of personality rather than "a romance for the sake of a romance."

I didn't really get a good look at the wing cutie marks because none of my OCs have them, but a wing can represent anything from speed or swiftness, to grace, to power and more.

It all really depends on how it's presented visually.

Heck, Hermes the messenger is depicted with winged shoes/feet so there's one for an earth pony.

Here's a read for anypony wondering why they made EG.

Certainly an interesting article and definitely makes sense after reading through it.

I have also come to realize that, even though I'm still very iffy about the upcoming movie, I also want it to succeed, if inadvertently. Think about it, if Equestria Girls does better than everyone's expecting than that not only boosts Hasbro's business prospects, but it also greatly increases the chances of getting a full-pony movie that I think a lot of older fans were expecting instead. Whereas if it flops it will be a loss on Hasbro's end and bad for the series overall.
