Hmm, this could be interesting. There are a few things I'd like to point out, though.
Firstly, a gullible person means they are "easily persuaded to believe something; credulous.". It doesn't exactly mean "thinks there is something good in everyone". So, let's take Knuckles the Echidna - Just for example's sakes. He will not believe that Doctor Eggman has any good in him unless Doctor Eggman lies to him about being good. That's being gullible.
So, basically, if Poet is gullible, she won't see any good in a person that looks bad unless they lie to her and say that they're good. Makes sense? Of course, if that's not what you're trying to get at, I think you might want to use another word apart from 'gullible'. Maybe "easily trusting" or something?
Second, I'd like to ask... Why is she an alicorn? She doesn't seem to be any sort of royalty or anything special like that, and didn't seem to be turned into an alicorn after achieving something like Twilight/Cadence. Unless you haven't explained it yet. In that case, I'll just keep quiet <XD
I think I'd like to point out, though, that alicorn OCs usually aren't liked as much. Considering there have only been 3 known alicorns in existence since the time Tirek was imprisoned all those years ago (and 4, now that Twilight became an alicorn), it's quite unlikely that there would be any other alicorns apart from animation errors of background ponies. It kind of decreases how much we can believe that the OC can exist in the show.
These are just guidelines, though, and you're not forced to follow them. It's all up to you , since she's your character!
Anyway, I think Poet does have some potential as a good character. I hope you'll work on her more and elaborate more stuff about her to complete her
And, of course, sorry if I offended you anywhere in this post
