Original Characters / Lemon and Copper

(These are my first OCs, and I'd love critique and opinions to help me develop them. I hope to start a Roleplay with one of them, when they're finished, and I am trying to teach myself to draw so that I can get more art of them)

Name: Copper Rose. She is named for the copper colour of her pelt and the rose pink tint of her mane, tail and eyes.
Age: Adult
Gender: Female
Talent: Any type of craft. She owns a little shop in ponyville where she makes and sells party decorations, such as bunting (which is her cutie mark)
Background:
She was born and raised in Canterlot, but she moved out when she was fairly young and hasn't been back since.
Her parents own a chain of very successful hotels, which can be found in such places as Canterlot,  Manehattan, Trottingham, Baltimare and Fillydelphia, and they had wanted Copper, their only child, to take over the business after they retired. Unfortunatley, she was not interested in any way, and no matter how much they tried to force her otherwise, she began persuing hobbies of her own, eventually realising a passion for arts and crafts. Her cutie Mark was very late, she was the very last in her class to receive one, and the image of the bunting was all the evidence that Copper's parents needed to see that she would never be the heiress that they wanted her to be. Following a horrific argument between the family, in which Copper made it clear she would never wanted to see her mother or father again, she moved out of the house that she had grown up in and took refuge in the house of her aunt until she was old enough to leave Canterlot for good and find somewhere to live in ponyville. She was still quite a young mare at this point, and finding her own home wasn't easy. She ended up taking refuge at an inn, and became good friends with the innkeeper, who sympathised with her position and offered her a job as a waitress, which she accepted, mainly due to the fact that the innkeeper was allowing her to stay there for free if she did, as well as paying her (although the pay was not brilliant). She took the job rather hesitantly.  She hadn't escaped from running a hotel chain to go straight into working at an inn, but she was desperate and didn't want to give up and go home.
To begin with, Copper would spend the few bits that she earned on materials to make bunting, streamers, confetti, banners, and many other decorations that she would use to liven up the inn. One day, however, whilst taking a walk, she came across a rundown, abandoned house that was up for sale. To Copper, the place was extremely expensive, but a lot cheaper than any ordinary house would be, and so she set about saving up for it. The task took well over three years to accomplish, and it was difficult to go around unable to buy anything. It took dicipline and a lot of patience. She would place the few bits that she recieved into the bottom drawer of the cabinet in her room and ban herself from taking anything out if it. Her determination got her there in the end.
Her talent at crafts helped her in redecorating the old, crumbling structure into a homely, pleasant little cottage, and, after quitting her job as a waitress, she turned the entire downstairs of the building into a shop, selling homemade decorations. After all of the years living and working at the inn, Copper and the innkeeper remain very good friends and meet every Saturday for coffee.
Nowadays she lives alone, but owns a pet hedgehog named Pepper, who she rescued from the train tracks one day and became quickly attached to.
Magic: The only spells that she knows are those that help her with her talent. For example, she can operate scissors, glue and paint very well with magic.
She loves: Coffee. She first tried it when her and her friend met up at the cafe and quickly became a fan.
She hates: intense heat and books
Personality:
She is extremely stubborn, determined and unafraid to refuse anyone's orders, no matter what they are or who it is giving them to her. She clashes with anybody who is controlling or demanding, but is very loyal to the friends that she makes, preferring to involve herself with a small group of ponies as opposed to mingling with a huge crowd.
She is creative and artistic, but unable, for some reason, to concentrate upon anything intellectual, such as a book of any kind. She struggles to get past the first page of a novel without getting distracted and cannot cook, sing, dance, write, do sport or play music to save her life (she had tried doing all of these as a filly in an attempt to gain her cutie mark and every attempt had failed)



Name: Lemon Spice
Age: Adult
Gender: Female
Personality:
Lemon Spice is a collector, hoarding pretty much anything that she can find. She lives in Cloudsdale, but spends all of her time on the ground, scavenging around for things to gather and stick into one of her scrapbooks. She is extremely curious and hates being in one place for too long. She is also very clumsy due to her bad eyesight and not the best at landing. If anywhere were to embarrass themselves tripping over or crashing into something, it would be her, and she has an immense fear of animals and water.
She loves: Bright sunny days and ice-cream sundaes.
She hates: water and animals (her phobias), thunder, rain and the cold.
