Remembering something very important he had to attend to, Coral waved a brief farewell to Physics and his marefriend before galloping away back to his house.

"Sorry, I'll be back later!"

((Ack, my bad. It's hard to keep track sometimes. Fixed.))

I'm actually a bit surprised how somepony with an easy colthood could manage survival in the Everfree with the likes of Timberwolves and Cockatrices in there. I'm even more surprised he didn't know that the Everfree was a dangerous place for any pony to be going into, much less being able to realize that this forest was the sort of place he would need to focus on survival in. It's like his own backyard now, isn't it?

I feel sorry for his parents, though.  :c

Normally it wouldn't have ended nearly as well for poor Coral Helix as it did, but given that his talent was directly related to studying how the wild animals in the Everfree survived, it only made sense that he would apply that knowledge to himself as well.

"Oh..Okay. Sorry!"

Coral gives a nervous wave to Irina, followed by a confused look directed at the window. Pointing a hoof at the window, Coral continues,

"Is that one your friend too?"
5
Grinning widely, Coral turns around to look around the rest of the shop, but jumps in surprise when he sees Irina, scooting across the floor and behind a table, nearly knocking over several things but being lucky enough for them to stabilize before actually falling.

"Gah!"

When did she get there?
6
Coral perks up and grins proudly at the praise, happy that somepony likes his work, a bit too distracted and focused to notice Irina quite yet, which is probably for the best, due to his nervous nature at meeting new ponies.

"Thank you!"
7
Coral looks between the notes and Physics' face nervously, worried that he'll think the information isn't any good but also a bit eager to finally have some feedback on the variety of notes, each containing some observation of a wild species; varying from sleep cycles, hunting, prey, predators, behavior, typical migration patterns, where they make their homes, and long lists of things not to do, or things to do near them, depending on what kind of a threat the creature may or may not pose.

"Do..um..Do you want anything upfront?"
8
Coral looks to the side, clearly somewhat embarrassed by Physics' reaction to the amount of notes.

"It..It did takes years to compile all this, after all. It's everything about everything in the Everfree...so..."

Giving a nervous grin, Coral looks down and hoofs the floor quietly.

"B..But...if you think you can do it, I would be so very appreciative!"
9
"W..Well, yea, I guess. I was hoping, anyways. I just don't really know where to begin!"

Standing in front of the desk, Coral rummages through his saddlepack, taking what must be a stack of at least 300 pages of notes out from his bag and, with a thud, placing them in a pile on the table.

"There's just so much stuff to sort through, and it's hard to tell what might be useful for the everyday pony to know, and what's just useless trivia!"

Frowning, Coral rests his head on the desk.

"I spent all night awake trying to figure this out, but I barely got anything done."
10
"Just a visit!"

Coral looks around the shop, seeming to recognize some of the things on sale and tilting his head curiously at others while he speaks.

"And, I guess other stuff, too. You said you wanted to do business the other day, and I also started trying to collect my notes into a book format. It's really tedious work! But I guess in the end, it'll be worth it for everypony."
11
Surprised, Coral stumbles out of the way as some crazy pony with a cage nearly runs him down. Scratching his mane with a hoof, Coral shakes his head and knocks on the front door of what he presumes is Physics' shop, patiently waiting for a reply and not sure on whether he should just walk in or wait.

"Helloooo?"
12
Coral kicks the dirt irritably, getting a bit frustrated by his lack of success in finding anypony. Now that he thought about it, though, it would probably make sense to just ask for directions. He wasn't entirely sure why he hadn't done that sooner. After a very brief conversation, Coral was fortunate enough to be galloping towards Physics house in short order, perhaps a bit overeager to talk to his new friend again.
13
Blissfully unaware of the current situation, Coral makes a note of the time as he casually trots his way into Ponyville, happy about the way the last day went and looking forward to whatever happenings may presently be affecting Ponyville at the moment. Although, now that he thought about it, he wasn't entirely sure where anyone actually lived! Shrugging, Coral proceeded to wander Ponyville pretty aimlessly.

Well for a editor, you could always give him or her a cut of the money the book makes. Physics says. Or just pay them some bits upfront. Physics also suggests.

And I might be willing to buy some herbs, besides scrolls I make and sell potions. Physics says, hoping to help both his business and Coral.

"Definitely some time! Although...it would have to be later..."

Looking up, Coral continues.

"It's getting to be quite late, and if I don't go soon, then I'll interrupt the Timber wolves when they make their rounds... Sorry...Bye!!"

Completely forgetting to purchase the cupcakes he wanted in his hurry, Coral gallops back to his home in the Everfree.

((Cya later guys! I'll be back Tomorrow or later tonight.))
15
"M..Maybe.. I wouldn't want to have to bother anypony about it. I'll try and do the editing myself first, at least."

Shaking his head rapidly, Coral does his best to refuse Physics kind offer.

"Thank you! But...No. It wouldn't be right! I brought my own money, after all. Apparently there are a lot of ponies in Ponyville that need the herbs and ingredients in the Everfree, so I got pretty good prices..."
16
Coral nods absentmindedly, licking his hoof of any cupcake crumbs and twitching his ears to listen to Physics.

"Yea, I get pleennty of food. But none as sweet and delicious as cupcaaakkesss. They don't make them in the woods, you know?"

Shifts from one hoof to another thoughtfully, looking up at the sky.

"You know, that isn't such a bad idea... Although I doubt just the Everfree forest alone would make me rich, you know! There are only so many ponies, and I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt because I set a really high price on the book..."

Coral looks at Physics and nods slowly.

"Still, it's a good idea! It'd take a lot of time to organize the notes into a book though...but...maybe with the money I could explore the rest of Equestria, and write about those animals too!"
17
Unsure, Coral gingerly takes the cupcake out of the air and munches it for a bit, answering Captain with bits of cupcake still being eaten.

"It really isn't sho' bad once you get used to it... All of the animals have schedules, just like you, and me, and as long as you don't bother those, you're just peachy! Although I guess it was a pain learning all of them...but that's what my notes are for!"

Coral grins, being surprisingly friendly as he enjoys the cupcake, focusing both eyes on it and eating it appreciatively.
18
Coral perks up at being called somepony's friend. Mission accomplished!  O: Distracted by his mental celebrations, Coral barely notices the other questions, but eventually snaps out of it.

"It's..um..it's nice to meet you! Yes, I live in the Everfree forest...though it would be unfair to call my house a house, it's more of a... hut."

Giving an awkward grin, Coral nods nervously at Captain.
19
"It..It really wasn't as bad as it might sound...! I got my cutie mark, and I got to watch the really cool animals, and I wrote a bunch of stuff on how they live in the Everfree forest! I just hope it'll be useful to somepony someday."

Gives a genuine smile with only a small hint of nervousness in it, showing his appreciation to Physics for his understanding.
20
Coral shakes his head, objecting.

"No! You misunderstand! I got lost in the woods when I was a young colt, a really long time ago, and nopony ever found me and I never found anypony either. And..um.. that's why..---"

Stops talking and turns to the new pony, jumping in surprise at his sudden appearance and taking several quick steps back, watching from a distance and waving nervously in greeting.
