So, I don't know if anyone remembers, but when the servers were open last time to the public for that weekend, I wasn't able to play the game and I was the only one with the kind of problem, the only admin who was on at that time couldn't figure it out either. But I think I discovered why.

A bit after I downloaded the game, my computer started acting a bit funny. I thought it was just being fickle, but then it started getting worse. I did a scan and my computer said it was fine, when clearly it wasn't, and this annoying update Java thing kept popping up to get me to download a bunch of things. I didn't realize it was fake until it was too late. I ended up spending a week and a half trying to get rid of the viruses on my laptop without doing a factory reset, but then I got stuck on two that said they were open in another program. I tried downloading another spyware scanner, but that screwed up my computer even worse, making it so I couldn't do anything as soon as I logged in. It stayed like that for a few days before I finally figured out a way to bypass it, and delete it from my computer. Then I fiddled around a bit more and finally got rid of one of the virus files, but the other was still being stubborn. So I tried searching my computer for the thing it said it was open in, and the only result that came up was the file I downloaded for playing this game. As soon as I got rid of that file, I was able to delete the virus, so I am fairly certain that is where it came from.

I just wanted to bring that to your attention, because I don't want other people going through that same headache, though I'm sure you don't know how that could have happened either.

I'm not sure what to tell you then....it's weird for you to get a 404 error with a client everyone else is using....

Do you know if other admins will be able to help or when they will be on? I really want to play this game but I have limited time to this weekend

Its not over until its over and im flying around in cloudopolis. I got to server listing, they all read pings of -1, and i selected one and it is taking forever to "connecting to the official LoE server..." Is this normal? Taking so long? Or should i cancel and keep resendong to make it work?

Try to run as an administrator.  I had login and connection issues and that fixed it for me

You mean administrator of computer right? I am on a mac and the only user/administrator on this computer. I dont see how that could have anything to do with the state of things anyway. My own status is still waiting for loe server connection after choosing server. Ive relaunched the game but to no additional avail. I have no explicit 404 message. Have the downloads been updated since they were first available yesterday?

What they mean is right click the application and one of the options says "Run as Administrator". I don't actually know if it has anything to do with the accounts on your computer, but see if that works. As far as I can tell I won't be able to get the game working for me anytime soon

I don't know, but I tried both versions and each time even with running as administrator after I put in my login info and press log in, it keeps saying could not find 404. I am supposed to be using my forum account login for this right?

Well my roommate is trying to help and she said the error I am getting is on the client's side, so maybe they are still prepping?

Wait, which error are you guys getting, exactly? When I tried, it was the name/password one. I just assumed it wouldn't go past that till servers were up. Did it let you guys beyond that?

No I put in my name and password, it says logging in, but stayed like that for 5 minutes before saying 404 not found

Weird. Making a shortcut, it always gives the name excuse. But opening it directly from the folder gives the actual reasoning.
Alright, well I'll just have to open it from there then. At least that clears up -one- of my problems. 

Well I tried moving the application so the folder wouldn't be on my desktop, but when I did that it said the other stuff needed to be beside it. So I moved it back in the folder and opened it, started up fine, but it looks like I am the only one getting the 404 message. I might try downloading the 64 bit or whatever the one I didn't download was

So I downloaded the game and tried logging in, but after 5 minutes of waiting it says: "Could not log in, 404 not found"
