Every time I go to see the latest post on the topics I follow, I am always directed to the second post that followed the recent post I read. Like, I stop reading the end of the topic at #35, then it updates to #39, I come back with that star and it directs me to #37, not #36. o.O
I don't know exactly when this started, or even if it is just on my side, but I would like to know if it can be fixed. X3
Thank you for listening... or rather, reading. ^-^
Sometimes it takes me to the very last post in some of the threads I look at so you're not alone.
I've never experienced this myself, but I have a feeling it has to do with people posting after your page with the star has loaded. See, the star is just a hyperlink, which is set when the page is requested/loaded from our website. The link is probably accurate when you request it, but if people post after that point, when you click on the link and go to the thread, you'll see the new posts, which are newer than the post you got sent to. Hopefully that made sense.
Now, my assumption is wrong if the new posts you two saw are old. The assumption I made only holds up if you sit on a web page for a little bit (enough time for someone to make a new post) or you're clicking on a very active thread. If the time difference between when you loaded the page with the star and the latest post is only seconds to minutes in difference, I'm probably right.
The web server also caches data and doesn't update real-time. This in conjunction with what I mentioned above is probably the cause of this oddity.
