Good god just looking at that is giving me carpel tunnel syndrome, at least switch the letters and start/select around.
goodness... That looks GOOD! I want one! O: ovO
...im just gonna stick with my pc this generation
If they wanted to make a cheaper 3ds, why didn't they just make it a slim clamshell console like the DS lite?
It looks like you'd be handling the console like it were a brick.
Nintendo just make the 3DS backwards compatible! DD:

I read the article, the 2DS was made to be more accessible.
You see the 3D features of the 3DS limit the console to older children but the 2DS does not because it does NOT have 3D.
The 2DS ALSO plays ordinary DS games like Zelda Spirit Tracks and all that.
Teal... the 3DS/XL CAN PLAY DS GAMES.

Yeah it hit me while I was in the bathroom. (lol)
Maybe they were just stating that despite not having 3D features it will still have backwards compatibility.
Wonder if the 2DS will have its own circle pad pro for an extra pad and solder buttons and also, will its screens be big as the 3DS XL?
this is the reason I stay one gen behind
By the way, guys...
Apparently, the Nintendo 2DS is also meant for children.
They feel that hinges tend to be a weak spot that can break more easily than the rest of the handheld, so they did away with hinges to make it sturdier for children to use.
And yes, they took away the 3D to make it cheaper.
I still don't like it, but thankfully, I don't have to buy it. I've had a 3DS for a good long while now, and even though I rarely ever use the 3D, I still love it. It's awesome.
So they're pretty much marketing another DS revamp minus the convenience and the gimmick that actually made it sell.
Also, when you refer to any kind of DS, you don't have to say Nintendo. Nobody says Nintendo Wii U or Nintendo Gameboy Advance etc.
*sees video the first time* Okay, this isn't real. Can't be. Nintendo's trolling us.
*later* Where's the hinges?! Can it not close?!
*even later* The...controls don't...work that way...do they?
*way later* THIS IS ILLOGICAL!! Where is the hinges?!

Back in my day, Nintendo handhelds didn't have hinges. But at least I don't need to have a 2DS to play 2DS specific games, because if I did oh gosh I'd be in tears, that thing is like a brick compared to my older non-hinged handhelds.

Ha! Just what the 3DS needs -- no 3D!
Silly Nintendo.

Like I said before, the hinges were deemed to be a weak point that could break more easily than the rest of the handheld, and since the 2DS is more geared toward children, they didn't want it to be easily breakable. I guess they didn't think about the fact that the screens are permanently exposed this way, and children are far less careful than teens and adults. I've known a child to leave game discs lying shiny side down on the floor. They often have no sense of fragility.

IKR? My stepbrothers' house USED to be like that.
