As a bit of background: My appendix ruptured a few weeks ago and I had surgery to have it removed. I was in the hospital for four days. I got this bill yesterday.

hospitals overprice things by alot because really who is going to compete with them?
but do you have insurance to cover everything (if not at least some) of the cost?
