I got it on an emulator.
Meh, couldn't get into it.
I have it on the GBA and NES... Never completed. :\
Well, it is a challenging game.
I've never played it. But I'm not sure about wanting to...
the light realm bosses are boring, the dark realm ones are fun to fight
Nice. I just now fix my cartridge. I had a dead battery for couple of years and finally got it fix. I just got to the dark world and I'm hoping to beat this game before the squeal comes out.
thanks and good luck in the dark realm

Sequel? What are you talking about?
This was such an awesome game X3 it's still among my favorites. I got all the items and hearts.
I feel like I have to mention that I think this is one of the most overrated video games of all time.

Although my point of view may be biased, considering this was my first zelda game, one of my first games ever and I've had this game for about 16 of the 18 years I've been alive, I don't think it is overrated by any means.
As much as I try, I really can't find anything
that bad to say about this game. I really think it's as good as most people say it is and, if anything, it's on its way to becoming an
underrated game because of younger generations who haven't played it for themselves.

I can't believe you don't know about the sequel for 3DS! You have one, right?

Not as much as Ocarina Of Time. Yes, it IS a very good game, but top rated game until Super Mario Galaxy? I mean really. I've played better games. Like Majora's Mask was awesome. And I never found it all too creepy either.
The only reason I feel like A Link to the past is overrated is because the people who HAVE played it call it the best zelda game of all time and...it just bugs me.
Believe me, I think OoT is SLIGHTLY overrated because it was in lots of peoples' childhoods but I played through that game just last year and I see why people like it so much.
Still, I stand by my opinion that Link to the past is overrated.
And I agree with that.
I swear I'm not wearing the rose tinted glasses here, but Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is legit amazing. >:/
I got it Christmas morning along with an SNES back in the early 90s (4 or 5 years old at the time?) and it was probably one of the best SNES games I received. Who needs 3D? Who needs fancy gimmicky DS controls? Rabble rabble, get off my lawn.
My age is showing. D:
I didn't say it was a bad game.

Oh, I know Teal. I wasn't implying you were. Sorry if I sounded harsh like you were bad mouthing it. >.< I respect your opinion!
It's okay I knew you weren't. But in case you were thinking I thought it was bad I was informing you I didn't think that way.
I DO however think it's odd that instead of a general Zelda thread we have one made JUST for a Link to the Past. :/
Unfortunately anything past Ocarina of Time I don't have a fond recollection of since I haven't been following the Zelda series for the past few years.
Though I've always wanted to play Majora's Mask for the N64. Back when during the Nintendo 64 days they released a "expansion pack" that added more RAM to the N64. I only managed to borrow one when I was playing Perfect Dark but never for Majora's Mask. I've heard people say it was better than Ocarina of Time so it has piqued my interest. That and Windwaker.
What really got me interested in playing Majora's Mask was this series of YouTube videos about someone's experience playing a strange version of the game they found at a yard sale. The story of Ben!
(Creepy/disturbing/weird warning. PG-13 at the worst)

SPOILERS:
It's all fake, but it's an entertaining story and whoever hacked the rom file did a great job!
Majora's Mask is my favorite video game of all time. :D
My personal favourite was Skyward sword. Why? It's the first game in the LoZ timeline (the one with ocarina and Majora mask mostly) and it explain why all the Zelda games are somewhat the same: the last boss lay a curse on Link so that there battle never ends. After you defeated him, since the battle isn't over because of the curse, the fight has to go on with that demon thing and Link's grand-grand-grand-grand child. ((That's about a 100 years))
Also, I think Minish Cap is the first of another timeline, because it's a prequel to Four Swords, which was supposed to be the oldest when it was made.
