First off, I'm glad that I've finally had time to log back onto the LOE forums again. I was checking about how much was finished now when I got an idea. What if there were certain abilities that you get as you progress through the game. I mean abilities that everyone gets as they level up. Each character starts out with a different ability, depending on what their pony is and then they gain more abilities that suits that race as they keep leveling up.
Pegasi: Lucky Dodge at Lvl 1 - 10% chance of dodging an attack; 40% chance of dodging an attack when health is low
Medium level Pegasi: Quick Dash at Lvl 20 - 25% chance of moving behind the enemy if they get a pre-emptive strike.
Advanced level Pegasi: Swift Strike at lvl 45 - 75% chance of hitting with a regular attack before the battle actually starts; 35% chance if the enemy gets a pre-emptive strike.
Earth Ponies: Beserker at Lvl 1 - Increases attack when health is low.
Medium Level Earth Ponies: Counter at Lvl 20 - 25% chance of dodging an enemy attack to counter with a random attack with double damage; increases to 60% when health is low.
Advanced Level Earth Ponies: Courage at Lvl 45 - Drastically increases attack and defense when at low health. (3x stronger)
Unicorns: Defender at Lvl 1 - Increases defense when health is low.
Medium Level Unicorns: Enchanter at Lvl 20 - Increases magical attack when health is low.
Advanced Level Unicorns: Valor at Lvl 45 - Increases all stats when health is low; 50% chance of giving this to the entire party.
These are just few examples. Do you think this would be a good idea?
I apologize for saying but they aren't accepting any ideas right now. Plus i'm pretty positive they are going with a leveling system, and making it more like the skyrim system where you have to level up your skills instead. Though... i honestly have no idea.

I know. I was just thinking that it would be a good idea.
We're not accepting ideas right now, but if I am to entertain what you've put forth, there are a few flaws and details you need to work out anyway. I'm mentioning these to help you realize how specific design concepts have to be in order to be put in a game, not because I want to know (sorry.)
- Valor - When does that 50% chance get tested? The buff is applied as long as your health is low, but if you test that chance as long as the buff is applied, it will eventually give it to your allies, thus having a 100% chance over time. Is it once you cross over that "low health" mark? When does the buff go away? When your HP goes back up? When the battle ends?
- Swift Strike - Before the battle starts? Combat is real-time, not turn based.
Abilities will get stronger as you progress your character through the game, but we're not using a traditional leveling system (won't say anything beyond that.)

It's just a few ideas. I forgot to add a few things to those. I meant to say that Valor is a ability that you is possible to give to your teammates, even if they don't get the buff automatically. It'll just take an extra spell. Also, the buff will stay on your character, as well as your teammates, as long as your health stays low. If you heal, then the buff will leave each character after they preform an attack on an enemy. I was gone for almost a year, so I didn't remember that the game was real-time. Since it's real time, Swift Strike would be a counter move.
were there healing spells for healer-class players? some prefer to be a Fluttershy and let others do the fighting while they do the healing x3
Locking this up for now
