Title: Lucid Dreams
Post by: Charizard_2 on 2013 Apr 06, 18:19:29
A lucid dream, in simplest terms, is a dream in which one is aware that one is dreaming. -Wikipedia

What are your most memorable Lucid Dreams?

I've had lucid dreams of physcho lumberjacks, a deformed Slender Man, and cupcakes that eat people.
My favorite one is where I actually get eaten by a cupcake.
It had such an amazing view inside.... it just can't be described with words.

Let's see a dream where I KNOW I'm dreaming. I have a lot of those where I realize im dreaming so I pretend to turn into a dragon. I don't actually become one but it's like me and the bad guys  of the dream are playing 'make believe'...Once I did turn into a dragon but I didn't beat anyone up.

My favorite (and the only one I've accomplished) was that I was shopping in a store in....Seattle? Soo not sure. Anyways I told myself "Am I dreaming?" Like I've been doing for several days, several times a day. I was like "SWEET! I finally lucid dreamt!" So I met up with some friends, the cat people dancing in my signature, and we went shopping. Then came the time that we ran out of money, so I became a pickpocket, we got more money, then went out for pizza.

I felt so accomplished.  :3

What a random dream to have awareness in.  lol

I think once I was dreaming about being an assassin and wasn't able to get past a certain guard checkpoint without being detected. Then realizing I'm running out of time and probably gonna wake up soon I told myself 'screw this' and I shapeshift from being Ezio (or Altair don't remember) to Alex Mercer. Needless to say the guards didn't have a chance.
Spoiler: Alex Mercer for those who don't know him. • show

Are you guys sure lucid dreaming is... safe?
Title: Re: Lucid Dreams
Post by: ShadowHeart on 2013 Apr 08, 12:47:15
why do you say that? I think it's fine just as long as you don't purposefully try to do it like drinking heaps of coffee and staying up until u collapse to get a lucid dream.

what is the worst is a lucid nightmare because you are aware but you can't control it

Could I have a list of instructions to which I could lucid dream?

no the best way to safely lucid dream is keep a dream journal and try different means of checking you are in a dream one main way is to check the time look at a clock turn away from it and look back if you get into the habit in real life the more likely you will do it in a dream

In some lucid dreams you can control it... if you train your mind right.  :]

Herpy when I get home I can tell you about Lucid Dreaming but Chris is right, the best way to start is by keeping a dream journal. c: You have to be able to remember your dreams nearly every night before being able to Lucid dream.

I personally use Binaural beats to lucid dream, as they are fairly safe. But my mind also does some reality checks, but it registers time normally and such. so if i were to look at a clock and it says "11:52" i can look away and back and it will still say "11:52" without changing. My brain also likes to restrict me to a set of laws called "physics" but I usually manage to break said laws by time travelling :D

I've STILL yet to be able to have a Lucid Dream. I just got lazy at training, I guess.

I suppose it would help since caffeine increases attention. ^^ But it also might keep you awake..   X3
And will help with realizing that you are dreaming, but it will not /lead/ to it.  ^-^

Ok, here is my craziest 'lucid' dream:

Dream is normal, in airport and get on a plane. There is a sauna on the plane and suddenly I wake up. I then said "Oh no, no. I want to be lucid for this" (Being lucid for going into the sauna) Then went back into the dream within a second of closing my eyes. I pinched myself and confirmed that I was dreaming, and then everything went white and I woke up.

The heck brain?  o.O

Yep! When first getting the hang of lucidity your brain will get 'excited' in the realization of being dreaming and ruin your fun by bringing you to consciousness before you get to have dream fun.  X3

Whenever I have a lucid dream I just tend to fly around for a little while before I wake up.

I really need to start planning on things to do so I have some idea what I'm capable of doing in a lucid dream...
The flip side is I've finally got the hang of flying without zooming off in different directions at high speed also turning ugh turning (I fly Iron Man Style)

Flying upwards took some figuring out too doesn't seem to work the same as going sideways I have to imagine I'm weightless and then kinda 'feel' myself going upwards.

Wait isn't this thread about the actual dreams?  o.O
I went lucid this morning in a dream where me and a whole bunch of people were inside a deathmatch Matrix game. I flew around a city and blew up a multi story car park, fun times!

I dreamed that I was in my house while my parents were asleep, I knew I wasn't awake. I don't know why, I just did.

I poked at my dog with my foot, but he didn't seem to feel it, and I got bored, and wanted to go to disney land, but ended up in disney world, I think. I mean, I didn't see any of the indiana jones rides there. Then, I saw these weird floating spheres, and I went to touch one, and I woke up.

I have the weirdest dreams  :l

You might have been lucid... maybe? I know you don't feel pain in dreams so idk about that.

It's why I pinch myself when I think I'm dreaming, so I do it regularly. I usually forget anyway lol. I also look at my hands. They look really weird in dreams, once I had seven fingers and another time my middle and index were gone and the tips had all conjoined. It scared me awake :l

I can't believe I haven't tried floating/flying in a lucid dream.
It sounds fun and interesting. Do you actually feel the thrill of flying around (almost like riding a rollercoaster or a fast airplane), or do you basically not feel it at all (like walking)?

Well it depends on how your mind perceives flying. if you think flying will be a fun experience it will probably stimulate the senses in your own dream

The last(what i would assume is a lucid dream) I had was me walking into my department, looking at my schedule to see my old boss' name, among other names I recognized from my old job, and with me on the bottom with only 1 shift, Friday from 3-5.  I remember getting mad, walking into my boss' office, he wasn't there, then looking closer and seeing it wasn't my schedule, it was a schedule of the other store's meat department with me randomly added for a 2 hour friday shift.
That was either a lucid dream, or a VERY detailed, semi-unconscious coffee induced daydream...can't tell really lol

That was a very odd dream, I remember it quite vividly, and i thought and acted just as i would have in real life...(yeah, all I dream about at night is either work or ponies, and yes, flying as a pony is quite exhilarating, lol)

One night, I was dreaming that I got up from bed, and started getting ready for the day. It didn't last very long, I was just walking down the hallway before I randomly woke up. :P

And I've also read a fun fact that says gamers are more prone to lucid dreaming than others. :]

That's called a false awakening, where you get up and dream everything is normal and go about life as normal, you may even see friends and such. I had one and I thought it was wednesday when I got up (it was actually tuesday lol).

Gamers are more prone to lucid dreams? *Grabs DS*

Rather dark in setting, almost monochrome. The night sky being pitch black and everything surrounding me being black and white. I remember treading in a forest path and encountering an open area with two or three old wooden cabins. I remember meeting but one person and initiating interactions with said person, then it goes blank. I remember no more than that.

I had a lucid dream last night.

I was alone, in a field. There was 2 or 3 trees without leaves, even though the field was grassy. I do what I normally do to perform a reality check. I unlock my ipod with the wrong password. Once I confirm I am indeed I'm dreaming I turn around to be greeted by a mass horde of zombies. I quickly try to fly away but I am immeditaly slammed into the ground. I quickly zip up my hoodie and pull out my cobra ( Black ops 2 wep from zombies)
I bring up my HUD and check ammo and shields and inventory. ( black ops 2, Halo 4, and minecraft)

So this is the part where everything becomes clear and fuzzy at the same time. My brain likes to kee me to the laws of physics, where my concious mind likes to break the laws. So I attempt to fly again and when I am constantly slammed into the vround I know its hopeless. At this point I "stop time"

Every time I lucid dream I can enter my storage room' no matter where I am. It holds stuff I gather from other dreams. However if I happen to die in onr of my dreams, I lose everthing I have on me. This also includes if I wake up. The only thing I don't lose are my hoodie and my ipod, my ipod containing all all of my songs, but they are l staticy in parts. Back to the  dream.

I quickly call upon the great and powerful pinkie pie for aid in my zombie battle.
She arrives with a death machine and a diamond sword. I grab my mark II energy hoodie, buy jugger-nog and more cobra ammo (I now have 60 rounds, pinkie has 1100 in her death machine) we teleport out of the storage room and start pwning. Much zombie causlities were had that day, espically after running out of ammo and having to call in the elements of harmony after my golden spork broke. We banish the zombies the sun. I then turn around and greeted by my little brother jumping my my face, in my room, at noon.

And I lost my perfectly good cobra. Why did I have to get woken up D:

The end I guess
