Evening folks (or at least evening for me),

This is my first RP :D. Expect any post I make to be overly detailed and properly formatted. And I know this probably isn't everyone's sort of deal (considering how specific of a setting this is), but trust me, it'll be a whole whackload o' sillyness once it gets going (It'll turn into MASH pretty quickly).

So without further adieu, let's get this party started. I'll set the scene and you guys can do whatever the heck you want.

OPENING STATEMENT

The classroom's dull institutional white walls and cream tiled floor contrasted the body of uniformed NMA cadets that lined the back of the room. Of course, the few keener sat in the front row, their papers and notepads all neatly placed, folded and lined up. It was still 15 minutes to class, and many cadets were still missing.

The light grey Pegasus (with a black mane and a double sided scythe as a cutie mark I might add) trots in ready for class

A swiftly moving unicorn enters shortly after the Pegasus. His crisply ironed and starched tunic made him look stiff, as he brushed his blonde mane while staring at the chalk board at the front of the class room.

Glancing down at the watch around his teal hoof, the unicorn smiled, and began to write his name on the board.

C. I. WINTER

Turning around, the unicorn folded several papers neatly on one side of the desk, before shouting, "Take your seats, everypony, and we can get underway."

"sir yes sir"

"Yes sir!" a cadet in the first row chimed in unison with the grey pegasus.

Winter laughed, watching the midnight black pegasus glance over at the grey pegasus. Turning around, the CI began to shift through some more papers, attempting to make himself look busy. The black pegasus in the front dipped his pen in the inkwell in front of him, rapidly scrawling the course code on the top of his note page.

"ROOM!"

Winter called the command out, without even glancing away from his papers. The black pegasus snapped his back stiff like a board, and puffed out his chest. Staring blankly at the wall at 12 o'clock, the pegasus watched his fellow cadets through his peripherals.

Winter chuckles once more, as the majority of the class is beyond latent in their response to the command.

"Well, I'd tell you we have a couple newbies, but I suppose that's apparent isn't it. Relax. Let's get attendance over with."

Rustling through his papers once more, the unicorn sighed, pulling out a page from under a pile of paper.

"So apparently someone up at the office thought my handwriting needed practice and neglected to print me this year's roster. So I suppose we'll just use last years and modify it."

Moving over to the grey pegasus, the CI grinned and stated, "Name please."

"Gentlecolt Death sir"

"Air or Legion?" the CI questioned further.

"air" he stated firmly spreading his wings

"Well welcome to Northplace then."

Walking along, he noted that the majority of the people in the first row he'd seen before, and wrote down their names. Then he came to the black pegasus.

"And you are?"

"LAC Storm, Sir!" the pegasus returned crisply.

"LAC eh? Someone was good at Basic."

After a quick jaunt around the room, gathering the few remaining names of new cadets and returning ones, Winter returned to the front.

"Alright, welcome to NLL101; Northplace Basic. Today we're going over the basics of living at Northplace. We will teach you how to eat, breath and sleep. Is that clear?"

"sir yes sir"

"Good," Winter stated, "To business.

Wake up is at 0600. Opening Parade is 0700, with breakfast at 0730. Classes start at 0800 and run until 1200, at which you have a one hour break for lunch. At 1300, classes resume until 1500, when you switch over to mandatory rec time. This means hitting the gym, playing basket ball, or for the fly boys out there, just going for a spin. As long as you're moving and keeping in shape, you're good. At 1630 we have dinner. 1700 is night classes for some, and more mandatory rec time. By 1900, everyone is done, and should report to their dorms for roll call. After roll call, you'll have inspection, and essentially, the rest of the night is yours. You have from 1900 to 2000 hours for total freedom, but once 2030 hits, you better be in your dorm or security will have a few words with you. Lights out at 2300, but you can turn in any time before that. Any questions?"

"One, sir," said a dark gold earth pony with a short tannish-yellow mane standing in the doorway.  "How many laps around the castle for being this late, sir?"

"Well, a reminder of proper etiquette. The correct way to enter any room is, 'Permission to enter sir'. And no laps today. Just don't do it again, and take a seat."

Winter smirked, and returned to the board, quickly scrawling down his previous points.

"Any more questions?"

The earth pony nodded.  "Sir."  He entered and took the nearest seat, sitting up straight and waiting silently.

Winter quickly drew a large "UNIFORM" across the chalk board.

"To many of you, this will be no news. To some of you, this will be, and is slightly nil to a few very new cadets who are still in their fatigues," Winter remarked, giving a sinister glance at the black pegasus in the front row.

Storm, being new to the college, hadn't been issued a proper uniform, and wore the same light blue combat jacket he was issued in basic.

"So, uniforms are to be kept in prime condition. Iron them, starch them, and keep them squeakly clean and crisp. If you have questions about caring for them, refer to any teacher or senior cadet. If you have a problem, talk to the Supply officer and he'll tear you a new one for ruining government property."

Winter moved back to the board and wrote a large "ETIQUETTE" underneath "UNIFORM".

"Alright. We're in the military folks. Respect the chain of command, and respond to commands. I suppose I should do a quick review of classroom drill for all y'all. Does everypony know how to properly respond to the command, 'ROOM!'?"

Storm straightened himself once again.

The gold earth pony, Wavelength, had the privilege to see the first time that command was issued just before he entered.  He snapped to attention at the same time as Storm, looking straight ahead.

"Well, I see MOST of you can do it. For the record, you just straighten yourself up and stare blankly forward. Essentially, it's attention sitting down. Relax."

Winter chuckled and added, "Relax is simple enough to understand."

"That's pretty much it for commands in the classroom. Anyone have any questions about commands outside the classroom, uniform or etiquette? Don't be shy, this stuff is important at NMA."

"Sir.  Do you have any tips for avoiding the urge to speak out of turn, sir?" asked Wavelength, sitting up straight but relaxed.

"Yeah. Keep your mouth shut," he chuckled, "Just take everything in stride and keep cool. Remember, people aren't here to be your enemy, OR your friend. Plus, depending on the officer or cadet sometimes they'll be a little more lenient. Others will have you do twenty push ups for saluting incorrectly."

Winter smirked and said, "Good question though. Did that suffice?"

"Sir."  Wavelength gave a nod and waited.

"Brilliant, now. Next we have contraband and item relate regulations. So sit back, relax, and get ready for a lot of boringness."

For the next thirty minutes, Winter continued, spouting off various definitions from a large binder, which he quickly translated into layman's terms from the complicated, foreign sounding language used by the military.

"Alright, that's it for this class. This has been NLL101, I'm Civilian Instructor Winter, and you are now free to mosey on to your next class. I'll be here for the next fifteen minutes if you have any questions. Class, dismissed!"

In a flurry of movement, cadets began pouring towards the doorway, crowding the entire room.

"sir, is there any special treatments for ponies who are...different" he asked nervously

"We're all different in some way. The military can't afford to change for everypony that comes along, wanting to be the next hotshot. You'll be expected to fit in, and do as you're told. That being said, the military is willing to accommodate food allergies and stuff like that."

Winter watched as the crowd thinned out. The black pegasus in the front, who had remained motionless until now, stood up, tucking his book in the satchel he had around his body.

"Anything else fillies and gents?" Winter questioned, grinning.

"None here sir," Storm stated, "Thanks for class."

"You're welcome," Winter answered, nodding at the colt as he left.

"Anyone else got anything on their mind?"

Wavelength stood after everypony else had thinned out enough to move freely.  "Sir, I love obstacle courses with a passion.  May I work my sorry tail off until my next class, sir?"

"thank you for you time sir" he heads for the door but stops just before exiting "oh and sir. If ever something were to go wrong, whether it's a riot or an explosion or some kind of fatal action is taking place. If I'm not with the group then leave me behind"

"Well cadet," Winter began, turning to Wavelength with a smirk, "If you can clear the course within the next fifteen AND make it to Bravo classroom, by all means. As long as you're at Bravo on time, you're good."

"As for you," Winter turned to Gentlecolt, his smile fading rapidly."Cool your jets there tiger. Equestria hasn't seen war for a good long time, and Northplace in particular hasn't had any major trouble since the great war. I don't think we'll be having any riots any time soon."

Sorting a few papers, Winter turned to the board and began wiping away the chalk.

"You guys should get going. Classroom bravo is just down the hall, but if you gotta use the bathroom, stretch your legs, or grab coffee, now is the time."

Smacking the eraser back down onto the bottom of the chalkboard, Winter added, "Unless you have further questions, of course."

He grins "no sir" and walks straight to the next class

Shadow Storm watched as Gentlecolt walked by, tipping the paper cup filled with water back sharply. It's cool, refreshing contents splashed over his tongue, satisfying his thirst. Moving on, he continued on his way towards class room Bravo.

Wavelength marched on over to the obstacle course and took no more than half a second glancing at the climbing bars at the start before his countenance shattered and he took to the course like a foal to candy land.

Opening the door to Bravo Classroom sheepishly, Storm peeked in. Seeing a pony standing at the front of the class room, he snapped to attention, catching himself just before saluting.

"Permission to enter, Sergeant!" Storm shouted, counting the chevrons on the pegasus' uniform.

"Granted, you're early AC," the Sergeant returned, chuckling, "I like that. You and those other new cadets seem like you'll do good here."

"Thank you Sergeant," Storm stated before taking a seat.

The stallion trots in and takes a seat

A couple minutes later, Wavelength entered classroom Bravo a little moist from a brief shower.  His coat had hints of mud stains and he was still smiling as he sat down.

"Can I help you?"

Slowly, Two pegasi at the entrance to the base approached the red pegasus. Both were olive drab combat jackets, with a black and white "MP" tag wrapped around their left leg. One is a mare, the other was a colt, both having grey coats of hair.

Meanwhile, at Harmony Hall, the Sergeant stood at the front of Classroom Bravo, shifting anxiously as he waited for the remaining cadets to file in slowly.

"Once everypony has a seat, let's get this going!" he shouted ecstatically.

eh yes i like ehh.. entering a particular friend of mine is that possible?

Glancing at his comrade, the stallion stared the red pegasus down.

"Entering a particular friend... do you mean you wish to enroll somepony in the academy?" he asked, narrowing his eyes with suspicion.

yes yes very true he is a special a lot special. look a picture  

Wavelength took a seat and practically punched the smile off his own face before class began.

Staring at the picture, the mare raised an eyebrow.

"You're joking right?"

[move]Meanwhile[/move]


"Alright everypony settle down. I'm Sergeant Glyder and welcome to Level 1 Training, EMB102.5, how to care and wear your uniform, with pride I might add."

Sighs and groans sounded throughout the room.

"Oh come on, it's not that boring," Glyder stated, pacing back and forth at the front of the class, "Let's do a quick check on wearing your uniform. Who here knows how to tie a tie?"

"yes"

Wavelength remained silent.

Raising his hoof, a familiar dark stallion shouted "I do Sergeant!"

"Alright. I'd like to point out ALL of your hooves should be up, but I know some of you are new cadets so we'll overlook that for now. Cadets..."

Glyder paused, eyeing Gentlecolt and Storm.

"I didn't get your names," he stated with a smile.

"LAC Storm, sergeant," the pegasus, who once again sat in the front row, responded.

Nears the academy with a duffle bag slung onto his back. He approaches the entrance to spot three ponies, one of them being a red pegasus. He rubs the back of his neck as he nears the group and stands nearby for his turn to announce himself.

"Ah..." the mare stated, chuckling and turning to her companion, "Have fun with this Pine."

With that, she walked towards the second pony that had just showed up. The male MP eyed the red pegasus once more, before turning and heading back to the guardhouse at the gate.

"Would you come with me sir?" he asked as he walked.

Walking up to the other pony, the mare raised an eyebrow curiously.

"New cadet, transfer or new officer?"

but my friend can jiin to military academy?

Smiles at the mare that approached him and stands at attention out of respect. "Not quite an officer yet ma'am; transfer." He announced with a light smile.

"Oi," the male MP shouted towards the guardhouse, "Get me the sign in sheet Plank. On the double!"

"Alright, rank and name," the mare commanded, pulling a small notepad out of her pocket.

Nods to her. "Private First Class, Ateren Steelbender." He said giving a friendly formal salute. "..And uh, recently appointed too." He added.

"PfC eh?" the mare said, chuckling a bit, "Alright. Well, you're not in basic anymore. You're now a Leading Air Cadet; Northplace's equivalent to PfC. Welcome to Northplace Military Academy, L.A.C..."

The mare trailed off slowly, noticing the creature advancing toward the guardhouse.

"Go see Lieutenant Cloven, Steelbender. He's in Dorm Alpha. All you new cadets will be bunking there," she stated, staring at the creature.

"Uhh... hi," the male MP said to the monster, "You here to apply?"

He couldn't believe his eyes, but on the other hand, he was shown a picture...

Salutes to the mare. "Rodger that.." He said trying to sound unphased as he looks down at the shadow growing over them. He looks behind him at the tall creature. He had to rub his eyes for a brief moment and quickly went to Dorm Alpha to see the Lieutenant in order to avoid prolonged confrontation until later. He briskly reached the Dorm after a little bit of searching in further search for Lieutenant Cloven.

Wavelength felt a little confused at first; he never introduced himself either, but then again, he'd signed plenty of forms.  The sergeant probably already read Wavelength's name before he arrived.

"Uh..." the pegasus stuttered, "Are... here one second."

Turning to the guardhouse again, the MP screamed, "Plank, get me that sign up sheet!"

Stumbling out the door, a lanky, young Earth colt galloped over to the MP. Placing the sheet down, he panted, staring at his superior.

"Sorry, Sergeant, it was..."

He trailed off, just now noticing the shadow that was cast over him.

"Sarge?" he questioned.

"Thanks, I've got this."

Clicking his pen on, the male MP turned to address the large applicant, asking, "Name?"

[move]Meanwhile, in Dorm Alpha[/move]

"New cadet?"

A, beige coated, grey haired pegasus walked toward Ateren, noting him searching the barracks. He wore a navy blue dress uniform and a Air Force wedge.

[move]Meanwhile, in Classroom Bravo[/move]

Frowning, the Sergeant turned around began ticking names off a list he had on the table. Shaking his head, he placed his pen down, and faced the class again.

"Alright, Cadets Storm, Wavelength, Gentlecolt, Skyvolt and Bell. You are all to head down to the supply office across campus. It's in the admin building, first floor, entrance hall, on the left. You can't miss it. You'll receive orders from Lieutenant Incense when you get there. Everypony else stays here. Understood?"

Wavelength stood at attention and gave a lively response, glad to have some orders after that awkward wait.  "Sir!  Yes, sir!"

"Yes, Sergeant."

Storm saluted, and made an about turn, heading for the door.

"Alright, dismissed. You guys get that done."

Taking a few steps back, Sergeant Glyder glanced at Wavelength and added with a grin, "Also, as much as I'd like to be an officer, I still have a few years to go. So just refer to me as Sergeant. And you."

Storm halted, and turned around, responding, "Yes, Sergeant?"

"Don't salute anyone below Warrant Officer."

"Yes, Sergeant. Sorry, it won't happen again," Storm apologized, stiffening slightly.

Opening the door, Shadow exited, heading down the hall toward the exit.

Sigma-Omega walks up to the military academy and knocks on the door.

Smiles and gives a respectful nod. "New L.A.C. Sir." He said sounding enthusiastic.

CRASH!

A loud sound from inside the guardhouse echoes through the gate and its surrounding area. A dazed, amber coloured Earth pony rushed to the door, whipping it open.

"No Sergeant, I wasn't sle-..."

Staring at Sigma, the junior MP sized the pegasus up, trying to figure out the situation.

"Uh... are you a new cadet?" he asked, shrugging.

[move]Meanwhile at Dorm Alpha[/move]

"Welcome to Northplace. You're bunk 20-2. That's bunk 20, top bunk. Drop your gear there and head down to the mess hall for lunch. You'll find the levels there eating. Find the Level 1s and tag along, alright?" the Lieutenant said as he smiled warmly.

"Yes, sir!"  Wavelength saluted.

Nods with a smile. "Yes sir, on my way." He trots off after another respectful nod and drops his duffle bag at his assigned bunk and heads into the mess hall. He takes a look around and makes his way to Level 1.

Sigma-Omega: I wish to help you train the cadets.

[move]At the Gatehouse[/move]

"So... you want to become an instructor?" the colt asked, nervously rubbing the back of his neck.

[move]At the Mess Hall[/move]

Seeing Ateren enter, a blue pegasus trotted over.

"You're one of the new cadets eh? Cool. Class got out early, so we'll have to wait a bit. I'm Heart," he said, extending his hoof in a friendly manner, "Where are you from?"

[move]Across campus...[/move]

As the assigned cadets moved toward the admin building, Storm glanced to his side.

"Hey, you..." Storm whispered as he trotted, trying to catch Wavelength's eye.

Sigma-Omega: Affirmative.

Wavelength casually merged to the side as they trotted, ending up next to Storm.  He discreetly nodded to Storm in acknowledgement and turned one of his ears to listen.

Smiles and shakes his hoof. "Hello Heart. I'm Ateren, I came from ponyville."

Glancing around nervously, Shadow silently pressed on beside Wavelength.

"First day at Northplace, and you get your uniform. Lucky devil," the dark pegasus commented, smirking, "You excited?"

[move]Meanwhile at the gatehouse...[/move]

The Sergeant MP still stood there, stiff and tense.

"Err... I uh... does he talk? That's kinda a prerequisite for attending the academy..." the guard nervously eyed the creature once more, "And fitting in the actual buildings makes it a heck of a lot easier..."

On the other side of the barricade, the young earth colt glanced around the guardhouse.

"I'd direct you to my superior... but I think he's busy... w-what qualifications do you have?" the guard asked Omega.

[move]At the mess hall...[/move]

Heart lit up slightly, as a smile swept across his face.

"Ponyville? No kidding! My aunt and uncle live there. I'm from Trotterdown. So why did you join up?"

"Well, I'm proud to bear the uniform, but I'm a bit worried I won't be able to keep it clean.  You seem excited enough," he chuckled, glancing at Shadow's smirk.

Sigma-Omega: I am built specifically for combat and I can adapt my systems to counter any known threat. Also I strongly dislike most dragons, and all of the other dangerous creatures that inhabit Equestria. I will protect all of ponykind from harm even at the risk of my own functionality for that is my prime directive.

Smiles at Heart. "You don't say? Small world I guess. As for signing up, I was transferred. At this time I'm now L.A.C. To be honest, I actually egged on the transfer since this academy is further away from any actual conflict from what I gathered."

"I err... well... it's gonna be hard to find somewhere to fit him in... literally. We might be able to fit him into the civilian learning program... what are his credentials?"

On the other side of the guardhouse, the Earth colt fidgeted nervously.

"Uh... I suppose you could make a good CI... go to the admin building, it's in the middle of the campus. Go to the CO's office, he'll tell you everything you need to know..."

Stumbling backwards, the nervous colt stepped back into the guardhouse, quickly slamming the door shut.

[move]Across campus...[/move]

"I am... I've actually been here a few months. Apparently no one has noticed my existence yet. And I was issued a uniform a few weeks back, and it had a massive burn mark on it. The CO was not impressed. I'm bloody excited to get a new, decent one."

Storm sniffed, as the cold air stung his lungs.

"You joined any extra-curriculars yet?"

[move]At the mess hall...[/move]

Heart laughed, nodding in agreement.

"Yeah, we're pretty far away from any danger whatsoever. But don't worry, we've got lots of survival courses, exercises and stuff to look forward to..." he trailed off, glancing to the side as some movement caught his eye.

After a few seconds of silence, he turned back to Ateren, asking "Wait... do you have your uniform yet?"

ok lets go CO's office they move to CO's office

Blinks and shook his head. "Er, no.. I had just got here. I assumed that after a bite to eat I would be issued one."

Wavelength's nose wrinkled a little in thought.  "Extra-curriculars?  I just joined yesterday... I don't want to flood myself before I can get up and running."

Noting the large monster outside his office, General Straight Lace sighed. He'd seen a lot in his time, but this... this was a whole new ball game.

Waving the two down, he opened his office window, hanging out of the building.

"So... what exactly is... this? What is all of this?" he asked, frowning.

[move]Meanwhile at the mess hall...[/move]

"Oh, you should probably go to the supply office at the admin building. Sergeant Glyder sent a wave of new cadets there. If you hurry, you can make it before lunch break."

Heart glanced at the clock. It read 10:43.

"Your call though. You'll probably just be sent there yourself next class and get to skip the session," the pegasus added with nudge of the elbow.

[move]Across campus[/move]

"Ah true. Join drill team though."

Shadow stopped any further comment, ascending the flight of stairs up to the doors of the admin building.

"Hm."  Wavelength left it at that, making a mental note to look into Drill Team on his own time as they proceeded.

Gives a light laugh. "That's a bit clever. Although, I'd like to first impressions at a high. I'm sure they'll appreciate the fact that I took it upon myself to get the uniform at first chance... or at least it wouldn't hurt." He gets up. "It's been nice talking to you." He said giving a polite and friendly nod before turning toward the admin building.

"The old one eye..." Straight Lace muttered, sizing the creature up.

"Well Mr. One eye," he began, addressing the creature, "Why do you want to enroll in the academy?"

[move]On the other side of the administration building...[/move]

Shadow stopped in mid stride, raising an eyebrow out of curiosity. The creature standing in the middle of the academy was large, and foreign. Shaking his head and the creature out of his head, he continued on, entering the admin building and heading across the hall directly for the supply office.

[move]Meanwhile, at the mess hall...[/move]

"Alright, later!" Heart said, waving.

He quickly turned to the side, another cadet grabbing his attention.

Flies across trying to make haste so he can make it to the next class as Heart had mentioned. He looked up at the monster on the way... still surprised over the fact. He reaches the admin building and trots inside. "Hm... supply office... supply office..." He said to himself looking for it.

The odd being was, indeed, a head-turner.  Wavelength nearly came to a stop just staring at it, but managed to return his focus enough to move on toward the supply office.

Sigma-Omega walks to the admin building then enters and walks to the CO's office then knocks on the door.

He needs discipline, is too playful ^ ^ and always eats the houses of others

"One second," Straight Lace stated, frowning. Moving to the door, he opened the door. With a sigh, he shook his head.

"So... you're here to see me too? Great. Come in and we can sort your case out as well."

Moving back to the window, the officer looked out the window and shouted, "Well, if he needs discipline, he needs to be able to talk. If he can't speak, he's not gonna last long. Clear?"

"And you..." the general said, turning to eye Sigma, "Just tell me what exactly you are and why you're here?"

[move]Meanwhile, at the supply office...[/move]

As Shadow came to the open door at the supply office, he came to attention, shouting, "Permission to enter, sir!"

"What do you want?" was the rather curt response.

"I'm here to see if a uniform I requisitioned is in, along with several new cadets who are in need of uniforms, sir!" he stated, his face blank.

"Alright come in, all of you."

Shadow proceeded to walk in, visibly tensing up.

oh i see is too difficult for you train an adorable monster like this. no need to apologize if you can not deal with it.

says the red pegasus. stinging in military pride

Wavelength entered the supply office, forcing his eyes to not wander around the various wares in the room.

"Difficulty has nothing to do with it Mister. I've done and seen things you can't even imagine. It's discipline and protocol that's the point. We're an accepting bunch here, and I can accept that ponies can be shy, ill, or whatever, but there are some standards that are needed to be adhered to."

Straight Lace eyed the monster again, "What race would you classify yourself as?

[move]At the Supply Office...[/move]

"Alright... whats your name?"

The Lieutenant was visibly annoyed by the visit of the cadets. He sighed, glancing at Shadow.

"LAC Storm sir... I was the one that was shipped the burnt uniform sir," Storm stated, smiling ever so slightly.

"Ah, yeah, here."

The Lieutenant handed Storm a clear plastic bag with a dark blue uniform inside.

"Do I need to get C2s for the rest of these cadets?" he asked Storm, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes sir."

"Ah, make yourself useful and start digging uniforms out of the closet."

"Yes sir."

With that, Storm dashed off, leaving his package on the spot he was standing. He quickly returned with several uniforms, placing them on the ground.

"Alright, take this," the Lieutenant stated, tossing bagged uniforms to each cadet (excluding Storm), "Go get into it and come back here so we can see if it fits."

Wavelength nodded, confirmed with a brief "Sir," and took a uniform bag out of the room.  Though he could have just put it on right on the spot, not really wearing anything to begin with, there was the possibility that the lieutenant had something to discuss with Storm.

Had finally reach the Supply Office and knocks on the door. "Permission to enter?" He said calmly, keeping the door cracked.

Sigma-Omega: I am a mecha-pegasus and I was sent here by Dark Hooves to help teach the cadets how to fight.

With another annoyed sigh, the Lieutenant returned, "How many of you are there! Come in. Uniform right? Here."

He didn't even wait for Ateren to respond. Instead, the Lieutenant flung a bagged uniform in the general direction of the door.

"There should be a wedge, blue shirt, a black tie, tunic belt and tunic in there. If there's any problems, come to me. Now put that on really quick so we can get this over with."

At this point, Shadow had taken the hint, and quickly slipped into his blue shirt, buttoning it all the way to the top. Placing his rank epaulets on his shirt, he popped his collar up, slipping the black tie around his neck. Within the blink of an eye, Storm had slipped his tie around itself and had a nice, tightly knotted tie at his throat. Flipping the collar back down, Storm placed his tunic over his blue shirt, buttoning it up to the second last button, before belting his tunic belt around his left flank.

"Sir, fits like a charm," Shadow stated, shifting his uniform into proper position.

[move]Meanwhile, several stories up...[/move]

"I wasn't asking you mister. I was asking him."

Straight Lace frowned, staring the pegasus down. Turning around, he addressed Sigma:

"Well, if you want to become an instructor you'll have to pass the EFT, and you'll be given the title of CI. Have you been in military service before?"

Sigma-Omega: Negative, but I have studied the combat styles of every species of dangerous creatures and have fought them off several times.

Blinks at the Lieutenant's annoyance and puts on his uniform. He goes ahead and grabs the L.A.C rank epaulets and attaches them. "I wonder how many new members there were." He spots Shadow and plans on an introduction. He wasn't too upset about the Lieutenant's attitude mainly because he received his outfit a lot faster than expected which puts him nicely in time for the next class.

Wavelength came back in wearing most of the uniform correctly, but the tie was inside-out.

"Hm... here's the plan; go see Major Skyswipe, his office across the building. Tell him I sent you for Instructor Evaluation. He'll set you up with the exams and everything."

"If it fits, head back to the mess hall, and you might be able to catch the last half hour of break. If you're lucky, cantine might still be open. If something is wrong, talk to me. Go."

He waved his hoof in the air dismissively. Storm moved to the door, stopping to salute the officer before exiting. Waiting beside the door for a moment, the colt fixed his wedge.

"1," he murmured, using his hoof as a ruler to line up his headdress with his muzzle.

"2," he placed his hoof on his brow, making sure the proper distance was between his wedge and eye.

"3," he checked the distance between his ear and wedge.

"Good," he state aloud.

With that, he rushed off for the door.

Decides to follow Shadow back to the mess hall since he's done with his uniform.

Wavelength mimicked Storm's methods for aligning the wedge, minus the speech, then left the room and tried to figure out where to go next.

Sigma-Omega walks to Major Skyswipe's office and knocks on the door.

Rushing across the campus, Shadow looked down at his watch.

"Agh... typical."

Taking flight, Shadow bolted forward, covering the remainder of the distance to the mess hall in seconds. Landing at the door, he removed his wedge, then entered the hall.

[move]At the CO's office...[/move]

"Well, that's that..."

Moving back to the window, the General leaned out, staring the red pegasus down.

"If he isn't willing to speak to a superior officer, then he has no place here. The Equestrian Military is a place for discipline and cooperation. Speaking is just part of the necessary requirements for the military."

[move]Across the floor...[/move]

"Come on in!"

The voice had an oddly comfortable and somewhat welcoming sound to it.

Wavelength didn't really know where to go next, so he just headed back to Classroom Bravo for instruction.

Sigma-Omega walks inside and stands there looking at the pony.

Sigma-Omega: How are you today?

After grabbing a quick lunch from the remaining food in the mess hall, Shadow quickly cleaned his plate of food and dumped it in the bucket at the head of the room.

"Break's over!"

"And not a moment too soon..." Shadow muttered, heading for the door.

Bolting out the door, Shadow headed back to Harmony Hall and Classroom Bravo.

"You're early. Good. Take a seat."

Without turning or looking, the Flight Sergeant at the head of the room continued writing on the board.

[move]At the CO's Office...[/move]

"Well, that'll be a major problem, I'm afraid. Communication is key to any school experience. I'm sorry, but I don't think we can accommodate him."

The CO sighed, rubbing his chin slowly.

[move]At Major Skyswipe's Office...[/move]

"Well hello there. Did the CO or the Chief send you to me?"

The Major stood up at his desk, smirking slightly.

To save on time, he took out a wrapped sandwich he had brought that was in his duffle bag. Not wanting to offend the chef's of the mess hall, he ate at a corner table in hopes of not being too spotted out. Afterwards he quickly heads out when the break ends. He makes his way to Classroom Bravo, where he heard his next class was located.

Wavelength blinked.  Well, that's convenient, he thought, then took a seat.  If anything made him feel less clueless, it was arriving early.

Sigma-Omega: I think it was the general that sent me here. I don't know any of the ponies names here. I would like to help train the cadets here.

Slipping in swiftly through the door, Shadow tossed his notebook on one of the tables at the front of the class room, sitting down with a nod at Wavelength.

"How soon will the others be here?" the Flight Sergeant at the front asked, turning his body and neck to face the few ponies that were in the classroom.

[move]At Major Skyswipe's office...[/move]

"Ah. Okay. We can give you CI status if you're willing to take a quick exam to see if you're qualified."

Sigma-Omega: Alright. I'm ready anytime for it.

"I, erm... don't know, sir," Wavelength replied.  "If you give me a name list, I could try gathering everypony for you."

Reaches classroom Bravo and slips to a table toward the east side of the classroom. He sets up his things and gives a light sigh.

"No need there, Cadet. Good initiative, but it's their responsibility in the end. We're going to be going outside for training after the initial safety review in here."

The Flight Sergeant finished his writing on the board before turning around and shouting, "Everpony take a seat and we can get this over with."

As the room quieted down, the F. Sgt. continued, "Alright, I'm Flight Sergeant Aero and this is EMB103.1 and EM103.2, the Dangers of Physical Training and Physical Training itself. I'm going to keep this short so we can actually get outside and stop sitting down for so long. Who can tell me three major dangers of physical training?"

"Alrighty then."

Moving over to a set of drawers, the pony began sifting through documents before finding the one in question.

"Alright, if you'll follow me down to the training course by the Parade Square, we can get on with this."

With that statement, the officer slipped by Sigma and out the door.

Runs the question in his head. I know some bad effects of over training... I'm just unsure if that's what he's looking for or if they're major. It seems risky to answer... I'll just wait and see if someone else can answer any of the three and possible figure out what answers he's looking for, he thought carefully.

Sigma-Omega follows Major Skyswipe.

Wavelength thought for a moment, thinking the sergeant was asking for three specific dangers, then remembered his word choice: "three major dangers", not the three.

After thinking a moment, Wavelength stood.  "Sir.  If done improperly, physical training can result in major injury, both to the individual and those around him.  If one does not keep well-hydrated, they will likely suffer internal damage from the workout.  If your orders aren't followed to the letter, an array of generally bad instances could occur, sir."  Upon his conclusion, Wavelength remained at attention.

"Sure..." the flight sergeant murmured, picking up his writing implement, "I was actually looking for something less broad. You had number two there; dehydration. You need to keep hydrated when training. The Forces are not responsible for your own silliness. And no need to stand unless I ask you to. Relax, sit down."

Turning around, the Flight Sergeant asked, "Anypony else have any ideas?"

[move]At the Training Course...[/move]

As Skyswipe arrived at the training course, he stopped and turned to Sigma. With a deep breath, he grinned and began:

"Okay, this is your basic EMFIT course. If you can pass the first portion, the obstacle course, we'll move onto the next. This course is mandatory for everypony in the Forces, and magic and wings are not permitted. The course consists of a 100 metre dash, followed by various walls and obstacles that must be navigated. Finally, you must traverse under a barbed wire fence, followed by a final twenty foot wall climb. Understood?"

Wavelength nodded and returned to his seat.

Sigma-Omega: I understand. (closes his wings and deactivates them) Shall we commence?
