Title: Having a Strong Conscience
Post by: Daring Flash on 2013 Mar 01, 23:50:15
I believe I have a strong conscience. A conscience is a type of thought telling you the difference between right and wrong.
Example: A person tells you to take something that doesn't belong to you, you would know its wrong.
How I think:
-I feel guilty whenever I accidentally drop something on the ground because its littering and I would pick it up.
-I feel bad for inanimate objects since I was little and I tried to stop thinking like that but I couldn't. Whenever they get damaged, I would feel bad.  :c
-I would feel terrible whenever I almost swear.  :c
-I don't hate anyone even though they could be rude and mean, I know they are just being human and they have their own lives.
-Whenever I seen teens and my friends began doing inappropriate things, I would keep thinking about their childhood and imagine how innocent they were. (I stay out of trouble no matter how people would try to corrupt me)

Does anypony else feel like this?  :c

Me too. It used to be so strong, I could barely live a single day without being guilty. >.< Now I regret less, but it's not over stupid things like before.

Well I dont really think anyone in any way has ever actually tried to corrupt you my friend. Dont go around thinking people that do bad things around you are evil or corrupt, some people just make bad choices some of the time. Or ALL the time when it comes to some of my friends lol. Anyway I will agree with you on the Swearing part. I just cant ever bring myself to ever do it ever.

Spoiler: Personal opinion on the matter. • show
Your first point about littering is something I understand completely.
Although things that are easily biodegradable, like apple cores, are things that I wouldn't mind, when thrown in a bush.
Your second point seemed a bit odd to me at first, but once I thought about it,
I realised I feel horrible every time my guitar bumps against something.

But now your next 2 points, swearing is a way of releasing anger and discontent in order to calm yourself.
The reason swearwords are considered bad is because they were related to bad things happening in the past.
One could easily just shout "AAAHHH" and be done with it, but that just ones personal choice.
Because anger and hatred are basic emotions, you shouldn't deny those feelings, they are natural.
But place anger were it belongs, place it with someone who has wronged you personally.

And finally your last point, I guess you mean drinking, smoking and all of the above.

As long as they don't expect you to follow them into habits and opinions, then they are good friends who aren't trying to corrupt you,
keep in mind that asking you if you want something, that they *aren't forcing you to have it.
Remember these are personal choices of your friends, accept them like they accept you.

Edited an "are" that was supposed to be an "aren't".
Minor mistake that went against my whole point.

@computer sometimes having a strong conscience is good, helps you stay out of trouble.

@herpy Yup, always follow your conscience.

@lordofmadness Well, yea. One person asked me if I am religious because of my behavior of avoiding trouble. I would try to do good things and not follow what everyone else does. Swearing is the most common thing in my school, sometimes they would use them in every sentence they say.

@little judas I'm ok with the fruits being dumped in the soil to give plants nutrients. I just don't like items that are hard to decompose to be on the ground like plastic, chip bags, etc. I actully care about nature and animals, it was nice to go to an open field with mountains, forests, plants and animals around.

Some people does care about inanimate objects and feel bad for them, some objects might be valuable to them.

Whenever I get angry, I don't swear. I just went and talk to friends to chat about my issue or punch a pillow.

it is true my friends accept me and I accept them. It is really hard to believe that friends I met many years ago had changed and began to have new ones. Hard to hang out with my friends with their new friends though, but takes time to get to know them.

I feel really bad when I make a mistake, especially if it affects someone else. If it only affects me, I just get mad at myself. Either way, I beat myself up over mistakes, like getting upset with myself for accidentally breaking a bowl or a tea pot and apologizing a hundred times for it.

I have a strong conscience... I just wish I had a will to match it.  The strength of one's conscience identifies the temptation, but their strength of will is the thing that resists it.

My opinion:
-Littering, bad, I agree
-I only really care about these things if it's something of mine of sentimental value(ex. my guitar) or other people's belongings
-Can't say the same about swearing, but I am extremely careful how I use it and who I use it around(I will never swear in front of children or women, ever.)
-I'm on the fence with this point for numerous reasons.  In retail you deal with this all the time and i've learned to take everyone's negativity with a grain of salt.  However, i'm a man who will do anything to protect my family and there are people out there who have hurt members of my family whom I will never forgive.  I have my principles and I stick to them.
-Not sure what to say here, I don't normally judge kids/teens actions or decisions because...well, kids will be kids?

-Yes. Me too. Even with stuff like fruit peels. I know they're biodegradable, and sometimes I put it on soil, but I feel like putting it in the garbage instead... X3

If I run, and I drop something, I stop to pick it up.

Sometimes I pick up paper towels with another paper towel and throw them away. Ugh, some people...

-Yeah. Like my laptop or my Nintendo 3DS. Stuff I really like I take care of very much.

I feel bad and mad at the same time when they break.
Quote from: Daring Flash-I would feel terrible whenever I almost swear.  :c

-Now, ever since I was young, I've always hated swearing. I cringe every time I hear one or see one (in text). I don't curse myself.

I can get so angry to only yelling gibberish like "Nyarglebargle!"
Quote from: Daring Flash-I don't hate anyone even though they could be rude and mean, I know they are just being human and they have their own lives.

-That's how I feel too...

I've started to start becoming less judgy. Even if it somewhat annoys me if I don't agree with things that might be inappropriate. But they've actually caused no crime. :\

-What I just stated above. But not thinking how they originally were. x3

Eh, I just don't judge and move on. :\
Something led them to doing... that. But you just be yourself. ^-^

The second point is a big one, it's very understandable if you're an emotional pony.

I also used to say sorry a million times

@jenzy I'm glad you felt the same too  ^-^ What I really hate is littering and swearing. Sometimes, I would see items that would take years to decompose like snack bags and plastic bottles, I would pick them up and throw them in the recycling can. Also for swearing, many people swear to express themselves and I get it. I have a friend who came from another country and she started to swear like everybody else. I believe just because I don't swear doesn't make me "cool" but an appropriate person. My strong conscience helps me avoid being part of the large group of people who couldn't control themselves.  :]

@herpy I used to be very cheerful and silly like for example Pinkie Pie until as people grow older, they became more rebellious and crazy or even violent which broke my spirit. So I'm a quiet sensitive person, but my self esteem is increasing ever since I joined a school team  :]

Despite swearing being some form of expression, I swear, it still hurts my ears. >.<

They do too  >.< Sometimes whenever people swear, they have no control of their ways of communicating  :c
