  Not only because of the loss of active members - although that is certainly one of the reasons why the sign-ups are re-opening - but also because the possibility of a new species has reared its fearsome head, Sign-ups are re-opening. Fun new possibilities have materialized, normal ponies from Pastoring can be chosen; however openings for 'The Obsidian Race' are open.

What is the Obsidian Race? That is what all of us are trying to figure out. 

If you are interested you'll need to PM me, as this race has abilities that aren't yet known by the pony populace.




  I'll probably be encouraging party seperation, with the characters we have right now  lol. Since most of us are on at different times it might be best to travel at opposite ends of the camp? Other options include: Non-chronolgocial discussions (which will get very confusing, very fast  ovO); or maybe ALOT more OOC. IF we can discuss what our characters WILL do here, it might help if you don't show up again for a few days.

But the game is moving at a nice pace ('I think') let me know if you are frustrated or irked by your own speed and we shall see what we can do  :3!




ALL Out of Character (OOC) conversations must go in the OOC chat, if you place an OOC into the RP to get a pony's attention, it must: 'Either direct the pony TO the OOC or, in a case where you are not expecting a response, It must be removed when it's task is accomplished or a day passes, whichever comes first. Forgot to tell in sign-up that Laebenal is a bit afraid of flying (after all she got banished from her herd because of flying). So, she will only fly when it is absolutely neccessary or when someone can encourage her to fly.

 And at this highly in-opportune moment . . . I must go  :c. I should be back in an hour or little over an hour .  . . but I won't be able to stay more than twenty minutes before heading off again for quite a bit longer  :c.

There's a celebration in the town, but me and Grassblade sneaked out to find Laebenal.

 Ahh, and I should point out to you fellows: Pastoring doesn't have light-cycles. Since their light comes from the 'stars' or single 'star' at the moment. Around Queen's gate it's always a shade of bright moonlight, a little brighter than a full moon, here.

I stated this in one of my earlier posts, but just making sure you all remember :3.

It IS dark in the forest but not unduely so.

Well, me Grassblade and Laebenal have been doing a lot of one-line talking.

Right i shall make my post tommorow ive now read through the entirerty of what I fell behind on so i should ((if im right)) be able to get back in simple enough, though yea nearly all of it is the nightmare segment ((im nicknaming it))

 I SHOULD of placed this rule up before, but, I didn't think this game was going to hit it off as it has  lol. So it's going up, now  :l.

What the game will consist of here forth:

• More nonsenical, half-olde english, structuring of Prose to murmer/be upset/ponder over


• HOPEFULLY a semi-enjoyable plot-line


• Ludicrous charcters both 'realistic' and 'not'


• Struggles for power and morales, pick your side and ally up to decide your future and that of Pastoring.


• Time for the characters to interact (Take note you can do this anytime in-between my posts lol)

Let me know if you are interested in knowing or want to input your opinion! I'm always happy to listen! If you guys want more details on WHAT you can do, put it up here on the OOC. But really you can do almost anything, as long as it fits with your abilities in this world. Give me word if your specific character is looking for something specific, and I'll see what I can do to make the world a little more personalized for them:

ex: Jerrmy Fletcher always wanted to meet 'Lady Luck' so half his motivation to go along with the congregation is that they might stumble on her hut.

GalvinRoe: "Excellent, then we'll be sure to at least run upon the enchantress again."

You might not get exactly what you want your character to have, or the event might come about in a strange way, buuut we shall see what the world provides.

Still intrested. Just thinking what would be the best way to come out the forest.

 I was thinking to myself: "Maybe it would be a good idea to throw up some Pastoring 'lingo' because we are sure to run into more strange vernacular on our travels,"  lol. So here we are and it's sure to grow, but this is our main Pastoring vocabulary, thus far! I'm going to make another OOC page called: 'The Kingdom of Seven Stars - The World', so I'll have a place to put all this random information you may, or may not need  lol. I'll throw up all the information in the first page, important ponies and vocabulary as it comes along.

Feel free to use the resource or don't, it's up to you. I'll put everything of importance up here, first, but this way we'll have an organized compendium of 'notes' in case anyone wants to rifle through it, and see what we've 'learned' thus-far  lol.






- Amulet Pastor, star embodied - An amulet the shape of a basin of fire . . . a 'religious' symbol, or closest there is, in pastoring. Signifies the sages, the light they bring and/or their wisdom.

- North, Hideo, Chize, Melancholy, Bright, Yule and Honest - The Seven Sages. (We will learn a little more about them as we go on)

- Star - Burning basins of 'magic' fire, that produce all the heat and life necessary for pastoring.

- Queen's Grace - The town directly underneath Queen Leimus Pastoring. A highly rural city, known for it's resplendent architecture and being the center of the 'Sage worship' religion, as the Queen's Palace is also the great temple for North, the 'wisest' of the sages. Renamed Queen's Grace at the coronation of her highness, ten years ago.

- Hillsberugh - An agrarian town, not too far east from Yorkenshare; Largest exports: Wheat and Silk

- Yorkenshare - Urbanized merchant city with agrarian suburbs; Largest exports: Artisan goods

- Pitelsbar - Largest metropolis in Pastoring, center for scientific and magical research.

Please remove this post, Bleyd. A single crow MIGHT get into the Queen's palace but a flock of crows would never be able to sneak by the whole crowd.

If they DID it would be a TERRIBLE omen and I'd have to invest in a very LARGE explanation from the seers and magicians of the court lol. And as it goes, there isn't going to be anything of that nature at this late hour. It's time to head out, we don't need any bad omens  lol.

Well, Liaisa or Grassblade could bring her fireproof cloack with hood so she could hide in the group without angering Gertrude (unless he finds her) or she could follow the group from the forest or then somepony can explain why not to hunt her and encourage her to come without disguise or hiding (this has the smallest chance to succes). (these are just my suggestions and it can go differently if somepony can make a better way)

Are you saying that she would ask joining herself? No, she is still afraid of meeting other ponies and will only follow because she's curious and if you ask her to follow it will more likely happen. I think waiting for GalvinRoe is still a good idea.

Never been better!  I had pancakes for breakfast, the radiant sun burns through a slit in my curtains casting a bright reflection upon my school book and thus scalding my eyes whenever I try to read, and I got way more Geometry studies done in one hour than ever before. ovO

I'm sorry to say Laebenal will be restricted within a small guard-band for at least a short while  :c. They'll question her then let her go eventually, but you know these procedures. I think I'd be a little paranoid too, if my world were ending. It shouldn't be for too long, but some details will undoubtedly lay in your hooves . . . like how you treat the Queen  ovO.  Being rude probably won't do anything, but attacking her  ovO, I think you know what path that leads down lol. Unfortunetly I'm not sure your character does . . . I suppose she can place together this pony is pretty important . . . but how much she understand that depends on the 'government' structure of the nightmares you came from. Send me a PM when you get on, and we can smooth that out. I don't think it REALLY matters but would be nice for future points in my plot  lol.

  Everyone else: YOU ARE GOOD TO GO  lol! We SHOULD be reaching some minor festivities soon, then it's off into the unforgiving wild planes and then the 'darkened star' Hideo.

Given that she's been living in the wild for so long, I wouldn't think her to be very familiar with her own government's policies and general way of life... lol

Let's see if I can paint this picture in good old, post-modern, english.

So we have the queen up in front with Ser Williger, Lord Clancy, Lord Carmain and other important officials. We've already paraded down through the middle of town, and came out next to the forest, which is browning and changing colors, thanks to  the change of light, the equivelent of winter or autumn, however you want to see it. A little ways out of town a large congregation is standing around to meet us.

In the congregation are a bunch of choir foals, a violinist and the conductor. I just assumed we would pause to listen . . . to march off past this fare-well comity seems a terrible breach of etiquette for any marching party. The weaving mason is going to give us some extra clothes he wove together and the herb-master was to give us some staunching herbs . . . a few speeches and the like.

But I think I see where you are coming from, 'The glorious army marching away to the music, as silence slowly overtakes the farther they travel'? I'll be throwing that bit up, shortly  ovO, I promise lol. For now we are probably stationary or slightly breaking rank, depending on the players.

Can I ask you to remove your post in the Compendium, Grass? I know it would be convient to get replies when something pops up there but I'm going to need that space to be organized. I suspect I'll need another post for Important Events soon, and a few more categories will open up, soon enough  >.<. That topic will constantly be re-arranged and re-organized. So your post will probably end up in the middle of the compendium at some point, which is a little suprizing and slightly distracting.

Don't worry, though! I'll let you guys know whenever anything of real importance goes up. Otherwise it'll just be a list of things that *I* need to keep written down lol, mainly names, but a couple scenes as well. And it's open for all you, in-case you want to refresh your memory or don't understand some of the vocabulary used, in game.

Welcome to the planes pony friends; watch your step here. Try not to go off wandering without a professional scout at your side. It's easy to get lost in the sandy shores UNDERNEATH the planes and, likely as not, if you fall into those shores you probably won't be getting out anytime soon.

This seems quite the interesting, Dark Souls-like environment.  I'll have a look at the compendium of knowledge to see if there's any further description.

Hey people, I'm leaving this little message to say: "I'm not done with this story!"

And I hope you guys aren't, either  lol. You'll have to forgive my absence but I was tired of the internet for a while, so . . .  I really limited the amount of time I was on it. Of course, seeing as we live in the age we do, I wasn't able to shirk the internet completely but I was able to leave it alone for most things.

Now I'm back and I hope you guys are still interested in this story! I can't promise ALOT of activity but I can say I'll be here more often than I HAVE been  lol, most likely once or twice a week.



Let me know if you want to know a little more 'history' about Pastoring, I would gladly place up more, so your characters could be more familiar with the world they live in. Some things will come with time but if you are interested in . . . major artistic works, you may have to give me a shout to find out.

I'll ask that you place up question here, on the OOC so others can benefit from the answers, and, more than likely, I'll be placing up the answers in the compendium. But of course: it is up to you. If I feel the question deserves to be answered for EVERYONE I'll place it up here, anyways.

- Silver-white is the primary color in the Pastoring emblem or flag. So, 'in symbolism' a person with silver-white in their blood is a true pastorian.

  I'll probably only be placing up one or two posts a day. So, if you fellows would like to post slightly (or significally lol) larger posts, feel free to. I'll leave the decision to you fellows ^^.

...Erm... these are dictionary definitions of a couple words. x3  Could you explain what just happened?

  Not only because of the loss of active members - although that is certainly one of the reasons why the sign-ups are re-opening - but also because the possibility of a new species has reared its fearsome head, Sign-ups are re-opening. Fun new possibilities have materialized, normal ponies from Pastoring can be chosen; however openings for 'The Obsidian Race' are open as well.

What is the Obsidian Race? That is what all of us are trying to figure out. 

If you are interested you'll need to PM me, as this race has abilities that aren't yet known by the pony populace.


 



  ( (Came the tide, the shifting of granules a slithering snake in the mind, bearing fear and uncertainty as passenger. Heat wavered about The River White and it's clean, cold water beckoned forward, but this heat did not dance about the shadow-like forms, the area was not distorted with heat and their faces were clear seen.

Black on black clothes did they wear, great heavy cloaks that pressed against their midnight skin, heavy but loose pants and tunic and all was black about them . . . save their eyes. The eyes were the brightest, white, as lite with light as the stars themselves, though not as strong or illuminating. These blinding eyes hard stared upon the congregation and with a great slow movement, a single creature sauntered onto the edge of opposite river. A coy smile barely visible behind the layers of clothes, and a slow deliberate upturning of a hoof. ) )



Quick Summary: The tide refers to the pony-like creatures, termed because of their great width and the gravel shifting beneath their hooves is compared to the lapping of water, this metaphor was used in the previous post.

  Heat from the desert distorts the air, except above the river and around the pony-like creatures, so their faces are clearly visible.

Then imagery about the creatures' appearance and the feeling they provoke.

Finally the creatures raise their hooves, hoof upwards, towards your delegation. Possibly a sign of greeting? Who knows? You guys will have to figure it out  lol.






(( Through heavy cloaks their eyes shown forth and whispers of soft greetings from across the river white, still yet their whispers may be silent conversation if body language be much different. For eyes did train upon the group and many an upturned hoof did fly but never a-fore had ponies encountered, such beings as these, and language be it a clear for Queen and congregation may be elusive in meaning.

Then turn the flood upon each other, and whispered words flowed soft and melodious. A language of many tone, a language filled with rhyme and heavy emotion. Wonder, bewilderment and curiosity seemed apparent through the hum-sing of the many creatures. Then turn the front-most creature upon the congregation and join him were nine others, standing ball on sand, at the utmost edge of The River White. Anticipation prevailing the air about them.

Queen Leimus Pastoring stood strong and true, and turn she upon her fellow kinsman. "My friends and heroes . . . these creatures here, they seem intent to come cross the River White . . ."

Took up the speech, did young Ster-nab. "My gracious queen, may not observing bring us much knowledge? Should they stay stationary we shall understand our move is on-board, but should they make move we will learn of new abilities and preferences."

So brought a curious look from Sir Williger and from such a short nod. "Perhaps patience is in order, but not overly-much."

Overly-much they did not wait, as the ten creatures made move. Hooves quick landed upon water, and River white shuddered to River black whence they stood. For but a moment a small section shuddered to opaque darkness, until they pushed across the river. Then all was as it was, save the creatures before the congregation. ) )




  Quick Summary: The creatures said their greetings, or so common body language seems to indicate. Then they all turned around and started to talk to one another. Eventually 10 members step forward to stand on the banks  of the river.

The queen is advised to be patient by Ster-nab and Sir Williger, as observation may teach them something about these creatures.

Then the creatures just walk across the river, turning it black where they step for a few seconds.
