Name: Yellow Light
Age: 20
Born: Ponyville
Likes: Colorful stuff, practicing magic, teaching.
Dislikes: Bleak and colorless things, annoying students.
Weaknesses/Fears: Dark Magic
Personality: He is mostly kind, but can get annoyed easy. He is never downright mean, he just gets irritated. And super smart, like Twilight.
Bio: He is a huge color fan, and like all unicorns, has a unique spell only he can do. This is his color-changing spell. His magic flashes all different colors instead of being just one specific color. He can also create very fine art with his color magic. He used to explore alongside Rainstorm and Sunray, however he now teaches "inventing spells" at Celestia's Magic School(under an alias to prevent "being mobbed by strangers wherever [he goes]"). He is also Rainstorm and Lily's brother. He is the oldest in the family.(Besides parents, of course.)

Likes: Playing in mud, rain, cute animals, his pet wolf Doro.
Dislikes: Winter time(besides holidays), anyone who threatens his siblings.
Weaknesses/Fears: Spiders, any bugs that bite.
Personality:He's quite playful and happy. And he's extremely nice. I'm willing to bet you won't meet a nicer pony. It's near impossible to make fun of him, as he spins it around, and acts as though it's a compliment.
Bio: He loves playing in mud, and has no problem getting it all over himself!(or getting it on other ponies) It's constantly raining over his house. He always has mud on his hooves from playing in it all the time. For some reason, his coat is extremely soft, much softer than most ponies'. He is often called to explore alongside Monochrome and Sunray. Princess Celestia has him go to uncharted areas, make maps of them, and bring them back. By doing this, he helps Celestia in expanding Equestria. He enjoys going on them. He is quite famous and popular for this. He also resents going through deserts, due to their lack of rain, although he often has to on his quests. Although he generally has a very different point of view than most ponies, and is quite "different", everypony still thinks he's a cool pony. Whatever you do, you do NOT HURT HIS SIBLINGS. He is also Yellow and Flower's brother, and is best friends with Sunray. He also has a pet wolf named Doro.

Personality: She generally doesn't speak much, and she is more of a listener. She's not shy, she just doesn't participate much in conversation, and is very gentle and loving.
Bio: She is very talented at gardening, and her flowers are the most beautiful in Ponyville, mainly because of the constant rain over her house, keeping her garden nourished. She is even capable of breeding her own unique flowers. She also grows fruit.

Likes: Fire, showing his magic
Dislikes: Pain of any kind
Weaknesses/Fears: (No, NOT water.) Getting bullied.
Personality: He can be a little angry at times, but it is mostly just because deep down, he's just sensitive, and he doesn't like to take offense.
Bio: He is quite a pyromaniac, and he is very good at fire magic. His unique spell is creating magic fire that gives off warmth, but does not destroy or cause pain if touched. He also makes fireworks. He is an only child, and is Rainstorm, Yellow, and Flower's cousin.

Name: Sunshine Ray

Born: Canterlot
Likes: Extreme heat, the sun, her cat Lucky.
Dislikes: Getting too dirty, getting too wet.
Weaknesses/Fears: Snakes, cold(in general).
Personality: Although she is mainly kind and a true friend, she can get a little sassy, and she is the type to "spare feelings". And of course, as a Canterlot pony, she may be a bit stubborn. However, she does try to put that temporarily aside when exploring.
Bio:She is quite the opposite of Rainstorm. She enjoys heat and sunny weather. and it is constantly sunny over her house. She often is called to explore as well, in fact, she explored for Celestia before Rainstorm. And that's how they met. She is Monochrome and Venus's sister. She best friends with Rainstorm.

Dislikes: Ditto.
Weaknesses/Fears: Ditto.
Personality: Well, she is generally very literal. Sarcasm often confuses her. She likes to tell things as they are, and she's got kind of a "grey" personality. She never likes nor dislikes anything in particular.
Bio:She is Yellow's respective opposite. She specializes in taking and putting back the color in things, but she cannot change it. She is also a writer. She is Sunray and Venus's sister. She also still gets along well with Yellow. She succeeded Yellow after his job switch.

Weaknesses/Fears: Being cast out.
Personality: He is very talkative, and will often be the first to greet visitors. He generally ignores ponies a lot.
Bio: He is Flower's respective opposite(well, not as much. It's hard to come up with some opposites!). He, instead of flowers, grows wild, strange, and exotic plants that may be less pretty, but just as fascinating. He is extremely smart, and also works as a detective. He is Sunray and Monochrome's brother. He too, gets along well with his opposite, Lily.

Likes: Swimming, water, the ocean.
Dislikes: High altitude, landlocked areas.
Weaknesses/Fears: Pollution
Personality: She's generally nice, but she'll go to any lengths to push what she believes in, and at times can be extremely assertive when she needs to be.
Bio: She is Fire Blast's respective opposite. She specializes in water, water magic, etc. She's generally ind, but usually will instantly hate anypony who litters. She is an olympic swimmer and, in secret, like how Twilight once found a temporary wing spell, Wave found a temporary seapony spell, but, as RD would put it,  o_O "Nooooopony knows!" She too, gets along with her opposite.

Bio: She's a changeling who participated in the Canterlot invasion, but when the barrier dispelled them all, she didn't get blown away, yet received amnesia, thus never recalling being part of the invasion.

In my opinion you should remove this part for two reasons.
1) There are many OCs that include the same.
2) The rainboom is unique to Rainbow Dash.

He's got the same Cutiemark as my OC Teal, only his talent is rain and a love for rain.
Teal loves water and is a very good swimmer. To make him a bit more fair though he's not as good of a flyer as most pegasi.

So are they friends? And what do you think is the coolest and most unique trait of Rainstorm? Personally, I kinda like the muddy hooves idea. Well of course. I thought of it.

It surprisingly doesn't bug me how these OCs are so simple. It might be because everyone goes for something that "stands out"  amongst the generic OCs but these ones are so...simple but I like it.
Also, I think Teal and Wave would get along very well...but Teal already has a marefriend so no funny ideas. x3

The only OCs of mine thinkin' of romance are R and Y. And the reason they're simple is because even I don't know much about each of 'em. And what do you think of the whole "opposite" thing? And in case you can't put 2 and 2 together, Venus is named after the "Vensus Flytrap" hence his cutie mark being one, and his having to do with odd plants. I think the most in-depth one was either Rainstorm or Wave. Because R was my first, and Wave, well, she was the easiest to get ideas for. And about making them bigger, I only had an hour on the computer. Barely enough to do what I had to do that couldn't be done on the Wii, and replacing the pics with bigger ones is one of those things. So you can make bigger ones, but these won't be bigger 'till my next turn on the computer.

You really need to give more about their personality and history. Otherwise they're just quantity, but no quality.

I already have the cutie marks and the talents going with them. I do have a profession for Wave, sort of one for Rainstorm. I just can't think of super in-depth personalities for 8 whole OCs. If you want, you CAN help me, like you said. Some already have personality hints. (Sunray = Similar to Rarity, while Rainstorm is decidedly unlike Rarity) You WILL be credited.

What was his foalhood like: He had an interesting foalhood, living with an earth pony AND a unicorn, him being a pegasus. They came up with interesting games, involving the fact that they were all 3 pony races.

Where was he educated: Flight School, and also in his training for a high-rank weather factory job.
What are his parents like: kind, caring, strict, thus he is very well behaved.
Does he have siblings: brother to Yellow and Flower
What is his relationship with his family: A very kind and loving relationship.
How did he get his cutiemark: He got it when he was bored one day, but all of a sudden there was a large and colorful explosion that bumped the clouds in the sky around, and it started raining! He then played around in the rain all day, and when it stopped raining, he flew around and found more clouds. He brought them over and he had got his cutie mark: a rain drop!
What age was he when he got it: just a little colt.

So there, how's that? I'll put that in his description once I can go on the computer. The Wii can't copy and paste.

very good start :)  it's the same thing for each character, in turn ^-^

The middle child of kind and caring yet strict parents, the young Rainstorm was always a very capable flier, born in Cloudsdale as he was.  Though he was often impatient (and had a particular fear of spiders), he loved rain and water, and willingly flew through almost any weather.  He had an interesting foalhood, living with an earth pony AND a unicorn brother, and the three siblings invented numerous imaginative games exploiting each of their respective abilities.  One day when he was just a little colt, a bright and colorful explosion caused the clouds in the sky to all gather together and begin raining; after spending the entire day playing in the downpour and going to gather more clouds when the rain stopped, Rainstorm discovered his cutiemark: a raindrop!  As the colt matured, he began to train for his future in Flight School, eventually earning a high-rank weather factory job setting up projects.  He aspires to join the Wonderbolts some day, but for the moment he lives peacefully in Ponyville, making friends with such local celebrities as Rainbow Dash and the rest of the Mane Six.  Though he does avoid Rarity and is avoided by the dressmaker in turn, he is a sensitive and hardworking pony who always tells the truth.

Well, the truth is, do I really need a long backstory for everything about all of them? I like keeping things simple. I know, most of the people here like long an extensive backstories, but for my OCs, I don't care much about their past. Just their present. I will eventually add more, and even perhaps 1 or 2 backstories, but if so, they will be short. I have a few more ideas since I last updated, but who knows if I'll add them.

It's always useful to at least have the backstory on hoof for reference, so you can relate to other characters during social RP or pull some skill or another from a detailed backstory when integrating into adventure RPs.  For instance, being able to say "Feather probably is known and well-respected in Canterlot unlike the other players" because you already specified that in your backstory and don't have to argue the point with the GM, making it easier for all involved.

I suppose.  I just think it's more helpful to have all your thoughts organized in a story form rather than a haphazard list of various traits and factoids.  I generally remember stories better than I remember lists, but that's just me.  I also think it would save space in a way.

I cant find anything wrong with them and they arent to god mod or bland and boring.
But you may want to put more then two sentences behind the charecter give them some more personality!
As in like write a short story behind them. :3 Thats the only complaints I have.

I know, and I agree with that, I'm only saying I don't need to say their whole past. I know, lots of OCs have their complicated and dramatic pasts, but I just think mine aren't that intricate.

I know, and I agree with that, I'm only saying I don't need to say their whole past. I know, lots of OCs have their complicated and dramatic pasts, but I just think mine aren't that intricate.
That's perfectly fine ^-^  A simple and quiet past is welcome as well.  And I'm sure that, here at least, such a past would be unique in and of itself.

So uh...thought I'd say that Rainstorm is good mostly but somethings are too over the top.
~First off is his fame, if he was really famous and popular as the description reads than he'd probably have maybe a nicer home? Maybe some articles about his latest exploits in the newspaper.
~Second, he can SENSE lightning? A lightning bolt travels so fast even if he sensed it just a second before it hit him he'd have no time to get out of the way, let alone BLOCK it. He'd have to be as fast if not faster than lightning to block it or be able to slow time. (which I'm sure he can't)
~This one's not really an issue but if Celestia sends Rainstorm out to map uncharted regions, that's not questing. That's exploring.

That's all I really have to say about Rainstorm, he's not a terrible character but those are the three, or rather two things that bug me about him.

Also he's not that depressing or dark looking.

It's all true, I can change that stuff, because I did start by randomly tossing ideas. And when did I say he had a shabby home? He lives in Ponyville, but he has a big and good house. And I can change the wording, but I don't get to go on the computer very often, and the 3DS's browser has a character limit so I can't edit it on there, so I'll have to wait. And I guess he isn't that dark looking. And I like getting critique, positive or negative, so thanks.

They're good OCs, really :]  And unique in that they're not traumatized/overpowered/strange/"unique" in the typical way that some OCs tend to be, which is something I myself appreciate about your OCs.  They could use some fleshing out, but you've expressed the opinion of less being more in the past, and I'm not going to bring that up again unless you're willing to discuss it.

I use my 3DS because it's the most avaliable thing. I'm not rich enough to have my own personal computer or something. And I wouldn't go to the library just to use the computer, even if it could use internet.
And I changed my mind, I like dog best now. Rain's getting a dog. That also ties into the Rain/Shine opposite thing, she has a cat, he has a dog. What kind though? That's the question.

I don't know, drawing ponies in this style feels like I've accomplished so much because I take photos of ponies from the show and alter them,but they don't look like I've copied them.

I don't care if I'm multiple posting, this is my OC page, but from now on I'm posting little trivia facts here every once in a while about where I got certain ideas or that sort of thing.
First fun fact!
I got the idea of Rain's muddy hooves from the beginning of the episode "Look Before You Sleep". I thought of how it looked, and I thought it was cute and made him look more "complete".
Another:
I got the idea of Yellow's color-changing spell from Lady Rainicorn from Adventure Time.
And one more:
When I came up with Yellow's eyes changing, the colors and what they mean correspond to the colors the fairy in Zelda: Ocarina of Time changes to for the same things.(blue=people, yellow=enemies, green=objects of interest)

Just an opinion.
1) The fact that you've written that Princess Celestia sends Rainstorm to explore. It's like he meets her in person evertime and she tells him to explore X part and because of that he is famous. Now I can assume that there are plenty of famous ponies that aren't in the show but it would be more logical if she has a special branch or something for exploration with many ponies in it and everything new of interest is being reported to Celestia. Rather than one pony with his family/friends. That brings to
2) ...exploring. Nothing wrong with it but I see the trend that most of them go exploring. I feel that by making 4-5 ponies explore with Rainstorm, the uniqueness that Rain had with doing that job goes away.
3) How is Flower and Venus be able to make their own unique plants?  o.O I haven't heard such thing even in our world. Would it be difficult or something?
4) I see that they vary a lot in ages but in body not so much. Like a full grown(dunno how maturity goes with horses so I am making analogy with humans) 20 year old mare has the same body and size as your teenagers 12 years old. Should 20 be like the Mane6 while 12 be a little bigger than the CMC? (I am assuming that the CMC are around 10 years)  o.O

Yes, it would be extremely difficult. That's saying how skilled they really are.

Yes, I created the pics long before I assigned ages. And I always pictured the CMC around more like 6 or 7. Judging by voices, how they act and in comparison to the mane 6. I always pictured the mane 6 around between 14 and 16 by the same reasons.

You could do the thing with some organization about exploring and have them all in there. Just a suggestion. If you really want to make them special you could place them on the higher end of the organization. But Rain seems young to be the leader of something like that.

I think the mane6 are more towards maturity ages like 18-20. If I'm not mistaken I think Lauren Faust said that they were young adults since Rarity and AJ work and have their own business. Also the CMC don't look someponies who went to school for the first year (which for my country is around 7) so I assume they are more 10-11 years old. 5-6 I think would be younger than them.

Well plants grow from seeds that come from other plants. To make an entirely new one you either have to combine some pre-existing plants but then it would be some sort of a hybrid plant. I guess only god can make entirely new plant. lol

Backstories are just past events. More important is to know who is the Ocs itself than just  "he went and did this, this and that." I also haven't written everything about my OCs in the page since it's either WIP or 100% sure about it.

Right. What I mean is I'd be glad to make bigger pics, but I just can't be asked to get them all up here. It's hours of work because this site doesn't let you upload directly for some reason.
imgur.com is your friend.  failing that, min.us is your friend.  upload>browse>upload>copy url>paste inside img tags>tada.

you can even drag and drop with imgur.  just pull up the folder with all your images, drag to select the images, then click-hold, drag to the browser screen with imgur.com open until you see "upload", then release.  you'll be asked to confirm the submission of however many images you dropped.  click upload, and you'll be uploading everything in a jiffy.  then just middle-click or ctrl-click each image to open in a new tab (if windows), and copy the url for each image (should be something like http://imgur.com/asSa3ef.jpg ), then open a tab to LoE, scroll to Quick Reply in the thread you want, and paste the url inside the img tags.  bam done, usually takes about five minutes or less.

Rain has a new pet; a grey wolf cub! Name: Kyle.

Made a few changes, but the biggest thing I did was put Yellow on top. Because I've decided that he is now my "main" OC even though I use him less often.

Now it has a poll asking who your favorite is. And, I updated Wave's personality, added a new fact in Rain's bio, and the biggest part is that I put Onyx on the first post. :]
Another fun fact:
I had the idea of Onyx's amnesia, and when I watched A Canterlot Wedding again, I noticed the changeling that Twilight stomped on hard. And I decided, THAT'S Onyx, THAT'S how she got amnesia.

Well, I didn't need to see it because I already knew that. But seeing the new pics took off any possible dubt I had. First, that Ramisha's arts are awesome and second, that Yellowpikmin476 OCs are cute :3

Another fun fact:
In some designs, Rain and Shine were depicted wearing friendship necklaces. If you remember my "dance party" avatar, these necklaces were present in that picture.
And another:
The "opposites" were VERY different in early development. When I was first creating the "opposites", they were actually meant to be rivals, not friends! And they were actual villains! And originally, Fire Blast was actually Rain's opposite, until I realized that they don't quite work as opposites. And Yellow was originally gonna have a pony named Purple for an opposite, because purple is the opposite of yellow, but that was until I decided Yellow was not a "yellow" themed pony, but a "color" themed pony.
And one more:
If any part of Rain has changed te most between designs, it's the teal in his mane. Sometimes bluer, sometimes greener.

Small update. Fixed a few incorrect things in some of the bios, and gave Flower a MUCH cooler name. She is now Lily Of The Valley.
