Turns out the most likely path goes RIGHT OVER MY HOUSE.
RIGHT OVER
MY HOUSE.
Any of you guys gonna be effected by this?
where I live, the only thing that turns was a micro tornado. It just flipped the roof of ONE house and was only in a small neighboorhood. I didn't even know there was one until a few days.
Luckily, no. I live in Michigan so no fear of hurricanes.
Just bunker down and don't stick your head outside.
I'm in a middle state, Oklahoma, so I wont be hit. Soz for you. DD:
Kinda sucks, living where weather disasters can affect you. I live in tornado alley, and if a hurricane hits the gulf coast or whatever, even though I live too far to get hit by it, we still get hit by serious storms that it throws off from itself.
It's going to get windy, that's for sure.
I'm right next to the bloody coast. Flooding is almost guaranteed. Yet, I still have to attend school.

Better watch out for this one. It knows kara-tay.

Exactly. What if we lose power overnight and my alarm clock can't go off? Then what, school?

yeah I hate being in tornado alley.
My school has been closed for the next two days.
People have been told to evacuate.
Storm.
My neibourhood might get touched by it at the end. Probably a huge rain storm and pretty high winds but but nothing too bad. I just saw the size of it on the news.
The other day I was watching the news, and found out that New York might/should get hit.
I'm going to get hit by the right side of the storm, the part that usually causes the most flooding and wind damage
:| I'm also going to be hit by the fearsome beast. Unfortunately for me I'm right in the path. It's already stirrin' up quite a breeze outside. Due excuse me as I flee to the safety of Equestria.
Safe on the west coast, thank Celestia. Stay safe, everypony, we don't want you gone.
I live in Southwestern Ontario, Near Toronto. I don't think it'll affect me that bad.
The rest of my family is super paranoid though....
I live in the Central Valley of California. What were afraid of are droughts that will affect our crops. AMERICA DEPENDS ON OUR CROPS! Oh, and some after shocks from earthquakes at the Bay Area. Stay safe man. I will be thinking about you. If we don't hear from you in a month, we probably will be thinking the worst. :I
We could probably donate to whatever recovery effort starts afterward.
I am on the east coast. In other words:
This is baaaad! I'm gonna dieeee!!!! >A< My mom is also really worried about what shape the east coast is gonna be in afterwards...
Don't live anywhere near it! Not even on the same continent. ovO I'm in the clear.
I hope everyone makes it through well though!

Same here :P
But yeah, hope everyone is safe!
I'm in Southeastern PA. My school still expects me to attend.
(Un)fortunately, I have a paranoid mother and she's keeping me home for the next two days.
It's still gonna hit. It's already raining.
Nope. I live in chicago so....Nothing at all will happen.
Update:
I'm gonna die. lol
It's really windy here, should be raining a lot soon.

All I can think is that if that mesh wall weren't in the way, you could set up some pretty awesome angled jumps off that thing...
Just lost my power, good thing I have tethering capabilities :3
As I said before im in Ontario...and I just lost power...wow! O:
I didnt except this. Hope everypony in the path of this is safe!!
I think it's a tropical storm now, instead of a hurricane.
Post tropical, actually, as it wont make it back to sea.
At least it's dying down now if it's a tropical storm, hopefully everyone is doing okay. Our satellite has been off for a month or so my only storm info comes from the Internet, radio and whatever channels still work on the TV currently.
The storm passed through, now it's sunny where I'm at
I wont be hit by it but i saw coverage and it looks horrible! I hope it doesn't effect the election too much
Last night it caused my tv to glitch up a lot, but it also supposedly killed 67 people, I hope their families are okay :s
The storm killed 69 people in the Caribbean, 16 people in the States and 1 person in Canada :c
This thing is MASSIVE, even hours after making landfall
Welp, power just came back on. That wasn't too terrible.
o_O I hope everypony's okay!

Holy cow... I just realized that that thing is going over my area too! I didn't realize it was going so far north.
Yep, There are/were warnings in place for Ontario, Quebec and the maritimes 2 days before the storm made landfall.
I'm not sure about the states but i'm sure there were warnings along the entire eastern seaboard from Georgia to Maine and as far inland as Michigan and Indiana.
i wonder if its bigger then Katrina? :/

I'm pretty sure it's the BIGGEST in terms of area affected, though the intensity is much less. It was still a category 1 last time I checked, which was admittedly a while ago.
I'm pretty sure it's the biggest hurricane to hit the US mainland.
But from what I've heard, it didn't really go above 100MPH in terms of wind speed, whereas Katrina reached 175MPH at points.
Sandy reached Hurricane category 1 shortly before hitting the US I think, but now it's classed as a post-tropical storm as opposed to a hurricane.

Hurricane Hazel anypony?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Hazel
I remembered this one while studying meteorology in high school, as it was a big deal in Canada
Doesn't appear to be any info on Hazel, in terms of how much of an area it covered.
I know hurricane speeds were recorded about 150 miles from Sandy, and tropical storm winds up to 500 miles away.
Next to no power and a few fallen trees, damage is minimal in my area
My friend, Thrsa, told me on the phone a bit ago, that Sandy caused trees to fall on the streets of her town, which isn't very far away from mine, I just cracked up.. but sadly trick or treating is post poned :c Also, Sandy attacked the tree in our front yard, and stole someone's flag and put it in my yard lol
I died.
^-^
I'm living out in PA, so we're just cold and windy...
But, being from Jersey, my family is in the warzone right now, so... still not fun. This is why i think cell phones are a FANTASTIC invention. i can still keep in contact with them, so i know they're alright.
With that being said, my prayers go out to anyone else who's directly affected by this, or whose family might be.

If he's a ghost, he should infiltrate Area 51 and report to us what he finds. Can't get in trouble for trespassing if you're dead.

Wait....this thread went off topic and Madness didn't even have anything to do with it :o
On topic, Sandy is no longer a threat. It weakened over halloween in north-central Ontario and Quebec.
IDK if this was from sandy of another system in Quebec, but they confirmed a weak tornado on the 31st. wow...

Nobody cares about the sandstorms in egypt.WE LIVE IN THE DESERT.If I jump I fly. However sandy did kill a bunch of people , but still its nothing compared to the terror of the presidential debates.
sandstorms are expected in sandy places, earthquakes in California, hurricanes in the warm humid areas, tornadoes in tornado alley, blizzards in the north, etc. What's notable about Sandy was that it was so unexpected and had such a wide impact. Hurricane in Florida? Shame, yes, but it's somewhat expected around hurricane season. Hurricane in the northeast, flooding Manhattan? That's something that viewers don't expect, and thus newsworthy to a larger extent than a sandstorm in a sandy desert environment, even if the damage is comparable.
At this moment, they are going to be having national guards traveling around the hurricane hit areas with portable voting booth's. I don't trust the method, but it's better than nothing :c
I just got my power back after five days.
To be honest, we were very lucky considering a house a few houses over has a tree laying on it; that hardly being the worst of it.
The town over has the army running though it because of excessive looting.
The boardwalk by us is gone, along with numerous historical monuments.
Also, to be honest, from what Iv'e seen, Halloween and the election are the least of our concerns.
We also, apparently, have a storm coming on Wednesday.
Whee... :D
