I have Hot Topic liked on Facebook, and they recently posted a picture of a couple of pony toys.

They captioned it this:
"We heard you wanted better Pony toys so we told Hasbro to make them 20% Cooler. See the original Brony call to action here: http://bit.ly/QhW9Jw

Now we have them online here: http://bit.ly/RD1VEZ and in stores just for YOU."

That first link leads to an Equestria Daily post about trying to get Hot Topic to help. Hot Topic has actually answered us and is starting to sell the pony toys! The only thing is, a toy is $14.50. Sure, it's better quality, and (judging by the photo they posted) they're going to have Derpy sometime (Derpy keeps being sold out fast lol), but that's kind of typical of Hot Topic to have expensive merch.

But hey, it's another step toward showing Hasbro even more that the bronies are a good demographic to aim for in the toy department.
That, and I want a Derpy toy. The only other official one is limited edition. The only thing I don't like is the blue in Rainbow Dash's bangs, but if they start selling Pinkies with the correct mane and Fluttershy's who have their own mold instead of recolored Rainbow Dash, I'll be less nitpicky.

They do already have quite a selection (http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/PopCulture/MyLittlePony.jsp) of MLP stuff, though, especially in shirts.

If you go to the page about the Rainbow Dash toy (http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/PopCulture/EverythingElse/CultFavorites//My+Little+Pony+Rainbow+Dash+Vinyl+Figure-144781.jsp) and click the bottom preview button to view her from the left side, she does look a lot like Dashie from the show.

I Must admit, i am rather impressed! Am now more than ever very interested in buying hasbro pony merchandise! Quite excited to see what is to come from this... perhaps one day hasbro will also make awesome MLP Plushies! =3

Until now, I was only interested in the MLP shirts that Hot Topic had. I didn't have any interest in buying any of the toys except the limited edition Derpy Hooves. But now, I may try to get some of the toys that Hot Topic manages to conjure up. :D Starting with that Rainbow Dash! I hope they have more to choose from by Christmas.

and now... I make a strategy...

and a Hot Topic will open in Belgium.

1) Colors are wrong on Rainbow Dash mane and Derpy's eyes.
2) Only one cutiemark.

Bummed about not getting a Derpy. But who knows? My work load is going back up. I might be able to get dashie come xmas time.

Rainbow Dash looks more like she does in the show from the left, but her eyes are the wrong color. Though, she looks better than the blindbag, to me, and this Derpy Hooves is not limited edition. So I'm pretty happy with it. If they make a Fluttershy with her own mold, I'll be even happier.

I've actually been wanting to go see Hot Topic one of these days, I saw some merchandise reviews on youtube. I wonder if they have a Sweet Apple Acres T-shirt.  ^-^

I would also like to see some of the other stuff they have, my friend told me about the different things they sell.

Yeah, yeah, they're not perfect, but this Dashie is better than the blindbag. ovO Even the blindbag has wrong coloring in her bangs (green). I wonder if Hot Topic would take feedback.

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised it took them this long to start catching onto this. I held little interest in the official ones since they were cheaply produced with little thought to how accurate they actually were and some looked so off I wouldn't have even guessed who they were without the label. I'll still wait to let them work out the kinks in the designs, but if they actually start producing show-accurate designs rather than made to sell quality ones they've been making I might actually consider getting a couple.

I'm not really into toys. Plushies, yes (I want an Applejack plushie!), toys, no. :]

Though I must say those look amazing compared to the other toys I see on EqD.

I don't think it will be long before they release show accurate toys. :D

Is 14$ Really expensive? Seems so cheap to me (Different currency). A toy like that would cost about 300 Bs' (A LOT more than 14$), if not more depending on the size. :I

Man, everything but gas is overpriced here. Videogames here sell at around... 120-200 Dollars, yet gas is literally less than a dollar for a full tank.  :l

I believe it said she's 5 1/2 inches. And seriously, trust me, Dashie looks better from the left than that right-side view they showed. You can look when you view her on the site.

I actually might buy the toys. I wasn't even interested in buying any of the toys before. If they make more, I'll be quite likely to buy them.

the market price for things these days is crazy :P

G3, and as a result G3.5, was a complete flop. The horrible toys coming from Hasbro are just recycled from the previous generation to help make up for losses (hence the low quality and inaccuracy).

Give them time. Higher quality toys will come in due time.

That explains why they're still selling talking baby Pinkie Pie toys and changed the commercial to show G4 Pinkie instead of G3/G3.5.

At this moment in time i feel a great deal of pride within myself, but i also feel a great deal of shame! Few hour's ago i decided to go to the nearest hot-topic and luckily enough for me, they had one last derpy vinyl collectible! Out of shear love and admiration my mind forced me to buy the awesomeness that was sitting in front of me, such a good day.  ovO

I need to try to get a Derpy from them. The Derpy ones sell fast.

What I'll really be impressed with is if they make other background characters too. I want a DJ Pon3, Octavia, Lyra, Bonbon, and Dr. Whooves. I wouldn't mind getting some of the Wonderbolts, too. And maybe the mane six.

[Edit]: Oh, and I suspect they're only selling Derpy and Dash for now as a test, to see if people will actually buy the toys from them. Derpy and Dashie are two of the more well-known and likely to sell. It'd be bad if they stocked a whole bunch of different ponies and no one bought from them. That'd be a lot of wasted money.

Derpy has already done so. It took two hours for the online store to end up sold out on Derpy the first time they stocked her. I'm gonna go ahead and say it's a huge success. They need to start stocking Derpy in higher numbers because I really want one.

Okay so it arrived..I opened the box...and the size of this thing is ridiculous, it's so dang biig I was expecting a small little thing, but this is huge for a supposed to be small mlp toy. Well, money well spent.

They kinda messed up Rainbow's hair and leaned derpy to an angle a bit but THATS AWSOME QUALITY!

I got a derpy, it's definitely the coolest it could possibly be unless it's not, when my desk gets fixed or i get a new one it will have a better home

I have both. Surprised at teh qualities. :3 Dash looks like she has hot glue on her, and is missing paint, but I can't bring myself to return her. :c

I bought Cake the Cat and a Adventure Time pin.

Looks pretty good. And yeah, Rainbow Dash's mane is slightly wrong and the tail is kinda weird, but if you view her tail from one side, it looks pretty good. At least it's better than the blindbag of her.

The first ever Rainbow Dash to have an accurate-direction Cutie Mark at least.

But, yeah. The mane colors are off...

If you click the third image and look at it, if they had her cutie mark on both sides, that side of her would look pretty accurate except the fact that her tail doesn't have orange in it there. Or does it? Could be hard to tell. The orange in her mane is pretty red-orange but still easily differentiated from the red.

So, from that side, she does look quite accurate. But on the other side, nope, especially with the blue in her bangs/fringe whatever you call it where you live.

The wings are more show-accurate too. ;)

I just noticed. On the second image. Look at the GIF I posted. Then the figure. It should be red-orange-yellow, not blue-orange-yellow.

And the orange IS missing in the tail.

But it's quite close to Show Accurate. :D

I think they're working on it.

I kind of wonder if the Rainbow Dash and Derpy Hooves toys were the only ones made at first, just so they could test how successful the sales would be and make sure it's a good investment. Now that Derpy has sold out countless times and people've also bought lots of Rainbow Dash, they know it's a good investment and are ordering toys of more characters.

I hope they make some DJ Pon3. :3 I also hope for Pinkie Pie, and they better keep up their good work and actually make her mane right!
