I love g1, but really? Really? :l
Mind = Blown
Well, at least four of those are ones that the mane six were based on.
Firefly = Rainbow Dash
Posey = Fluttershy
Applejack = Applejack
Sparkler = Rarity, or at least I think that white one on the left is Sparkler.
Still, though, this deserves a facehoof. It's gonna make even more people think that bronies are about MLP overall, rather than FiM.

Noticed that, but I still find it offensive. Don't get me wrong, g1 was kinda cool, but that's what some people see us as. X3

Indeed. :c
That's just weird and creepy at the same time :l
I can agree that they could have worked a bit harder on getting facts about bronies and the characters of the show.
I knew you were going to facehoof on that, Stitchin, from the moment I saw the thread name lol
There's nothing wrong with G1. Quit complaining.
Problem with that shirt is that bronies are mostly people who watch G4 MLP (on a regular and enthusiastic basis) not G1. So it's like putting a shirt aimed at Star Wars fans with dinosaurs on it
The G1 cartoon (My Little Pony & Friends) is nothing to laugh at. It was really good, it just didn't age well. Not only that, but the people bashing it are the guys that watched Transformers instead (Transformers for boys, My Little Pony for girls).
In fact, Rescue from Midnight Castle alone was more edgy than all of G4's first season combined.
Also, Firefly > Rainbow Dash.
regardless of quality (and to an extent I can see your point, Lary) the shirt itself is still inaccurate in its depiction of the general population of those who call themselves "bronies"; the complaint that it misrepresents the fans as they are at the moment still stands.
Oh, i remember seeing this on Equestria daily! Quite hilarious if you ask me! lol

Indeed. The shirt, unfortunately, can promote the misconception that bronies are about MLP in its entirety, which causes people to think we like G3/G3.5. That leads to more of a misunderstanding and more of a negative view on us.
It could be worse far far worse
spoiler that please? x3
Never you all will suffer ovO
derp, it's on the previous page now ovO *cough* anyhow.

actually, as Lary pointed out, I think those are G1 ponies?
They are G1 ponies (well as far as i can tell) which although they did get the wrong genaration I do comend them on stocking or even creating such products

I know. But it can still cause people to think of MLP overall/old MLP gens rather than just FiM.

In all honesty, I think the fandom does the job of misrepresenting the fanbase on their own. One shirt isn't going to change much of that.

true enough, but it's probably viewed by the others as a contributing factor.

It's not Walmart's fault. :c Whoever manufactured the shirts will probably see that it wasn't the best choice in design if/when Walmart and other stores fail to sell very many.
have you ever considered the possibility that the shirt was made specifically to incite some sort of response in order to have the community itself create a bad impression of itself?

Troll company?! :I
Change the word 'bronies' to ponies, and I'd buy that shirt.. I don't see the big deal. G1 is cute~ I grew up with it. ^-^
The only problem with the shirt is it says "bronies" when "ponies" seems a lot more appropriate.
Quote from: The Wandering Magus on 2012 Oct 10, 23:33:46
Oh. >.< That didn't take long. If the manufacturer really was trolling, then successful troll is successful.
I think the shirt isn't that bad. To be honest, I kinda like it.
The text could be better though.
Spoiler: How I feel about bronies' reaction show

^I agree. :]
there's more. apparently it's "all over the news" (well, as much over the news as a somewhat hidden group can be)

Oh look, a fanbase is taking something extremely mundane completely out of proportion. Truly a rare sight.
I still say I dont really like those shirts at all :T
I'm not to heavily fond of the shirts myself, however at the same time i could never see myself making such a big deal out of it either. Tis be just a shirt. :P

Exactly.
Yes I don't like the shirt. Yes I don't like
those ponies. So what? They just didn't do their research. Big deal.
it'll probably blow over in a few days when the more "vocal" bronies find something else to criticize
My mom did not know about this topic and she saw those shirts and said the bromide were mad.
Bro... Mide?
... Bromide?
What's that, some sort of cleaning product? lol
Haha, just kidding. :)

calcium bromide? oh celestia chemistry run >.<
... It's actually real? o.O
yep, calcium and bromine. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcium_bromide) but that's not exactly on topic x3
anyhow. I do hope that the whole issue goes away in a few days. the community DOES consider its motto to be "love and tolerate" after all.
lol sorry my kindle does not have the word brony on it. So it put that instead of bronies.
:P
maybe if they got enough emails from bronies they'd start getting the pictures :P

well, I'd hope it wasn't a joke by now, right?

it's my motto, at least, I try to follow it as much as I can.

I think it funny.
