Title: Super smash bros.
Post by: Darkangel on 2012 Aug 30, 05:33:49
So anybody out there play Smash bros.? I have all 2/3 of the games, all I need is Melee I unlocked all characters/stages on Super Smash Bros. 64 yes I know there is only one stage to unlock in that one. :P Anyways, I have all the music on Super Smash Bros. Brawl (SSBB) and 999 coins since I go on online matches a lot but I always have to go on team battle to actually fight because of all the people that don't even fight on basic brawl. I main Meta Knight,(*Don't care about tier list*)Kirby and Pokemon trainer(Who is obviously Red)and sometimes Ike and Toon Link. I'm wondering how many of you have at least one smash bros. game, because there is only one other topic about it... Also my favorite stage on SSBB is the Halberd and favorite music is 02 battle(Too bad they didn't make 02 a sticker...)
My friend code: 0347-6562-4338

I've played all of them, I unlock all characters for 2 of them. I main Ike.

I've only ever played Melee and Brawl. I don't have Melee anymore, ever since I got rid of my Gamecube and all of its games. I do have Brawl, though, but I haven't played it much, and I insist on using a Gamecube controller for it.

I have Super Smash Bros brawl I used to have SSB but it vanished somewhere in my room, I main Kirby and Link but I also play Lucario Mario and Luigi. It kind of sucks that hardly anyone plays brawl online anymore, anytime I search for a match I never find one with the global match maker.

I have some things unlocked in brawl not everything but quite a few things including all the characters. I may have to play it again sometime I've been training a lvl 9 Link AI since the AI on brawl attempts to learn your fighting style which makes it interesting.  :I

(I should record one of my brawl fights as the lvl 9 Link is a freaking monster now.  :c)

I sometimes pick Kirby and somehow clumsily kick butt with him. I've liked Zelda since, um... I think Zelda could transform into Sheik in Melee. Right? If so, I've liked playing Zelda since then, and I always fight mainly in her Sheik form. I like swinging his chain around just to saw into people, and also throwing shuriken at people.

Kirby was the first character I ever played in smash bros on the N64 and was my favorite Nintendo character at the time, now I mainly play Link since I've gotten more accustomed to his fighting style and currently he's my favorite character to play in brawl. Kirby is pretty much my 2nd favorite to play though especially blue Kirby.  ^-^

Yeah Zelda could transform ever since melee and she can be a really strong character to play as especially if you learn how to use her well she's deadly with her crazy move set, and she can block projectiles with her spinning crystal move.

Owned all of the at one point in my life; only to lose them all later  :c

For Brawl, I usually go with Gannondorf, or Toon Link

I have Brawl but I don't go online. I heard it lags a lot. That and I don't have anybody on my friends list to play with lol

The characters I pick the most:
Ike, Luigi, Fox, Z.Suit Samus, or Kirby.

I used to have 64; then I sold it. You have permission to slap me.

I tried getting Brawl, but my Wii has that problem where it's physically incapable of playing it because the disk reader inside is dirty, and Brawl is a double layered disk, or something. Point is, I can't play Brawl.

The only one I actually have, and can play, is Melee.

I have Melee and Brawl. However since getting Brawl, I have stopped playing Melee. On Brawl, I main Sonic and Pit. I also have a pocket Wolf. I haven't been playing very much recently, but I have been watching lots of matches on Youtube and they have inspired me to start playing again. Only bad thing is the wifi because of the lag, which is why I want to look into SSBB meet-ups =D

Brawl is actually a bit less laggy if you have 1 vs 1 matches on the friends list. Sometimes 3 player matches work well but 4 player matches always lag constantly on brawl which is why the match maker is annoying as it always tried to grab 4 players whenever people were still playing it, me and my sister managed to play a 3 player match with our friend who lives in Pennsylvania. (We live in Missouri.) it worked pretty well with 1 vs 1 and was playable with 3 players and both of us had it on wifi not the LAN adapter. He had dsl and we had 3G at the time so I'd imagine it would run ok if both people had reasonable connections since 3G worked on it.

If anyone ever wanted to go a round I'd be willing to give wifi a try, it might end up being fun and I haven't played brawl in a while I kind of want to play it again now.

I don't use online outside of With Anyone pubs where everyone goes 3v1 and taunt spams, with the occasional hacker using permanent Wario Man and taking us to Target Test 1.

Me and Nintendo... we have bad experience together when it comes to online connections.

With friend codes you usually don't have to worry about hackers though and if someone does hack you can just not play with them again, but yeah Nintendo's not the greatest at online play.  :c

You're implying those hackers are a bad thing. :3
Every hacker I've ran into did not take the game at all seriously (like 80% of the people on With Anyone).

Oh I read your post wrong then I thought you were implying it was bad as well,  I was mainly referring to troll hackers the ones that literally ruin a fun game by causing problems for others.

Basically the ones in other games that can mess up your character data and such which really doesn't apply to brawl since it's a party game,
a hacker on pokemon GTS actually killed my save data I think by uploading a corrupt pokemon luckily the game stored backup data and just reverted to that. Anyways hackers in brawl are probably funny I assume, as I have yet to encounter one in brawl but I have encountered annoying ones in other nintendo games that can mess up your save progress.

It NEVER lags for me online, only if there is someone with a bad connection. :s I tried Melee once when one of my friends brant it over, I'm planning to buy it. Too bad I have to get it online... On that I'll main Dr. Mario. ovO once I learn how to unlock him of course

For the most part, they do silly things. Every hacker I've came across in pubs either:
-Forced all the players to play one certain character, no matter who they picked.
-Changed the stage's music
-Granted themselves unfair advantages (i.e permanent Wario Man, though the one guy I saw do this did nothing but eat my boxes from Snake's taunt)
-Loaded a stage that isn't normally accessible (Online Waiting Room, Target Test, Home Run Contest, etc)
-More than one of the above.

They never really used their hacks to "win" all the time because there's absolutely no point in winning. No prize. No online records. Nothing. So why bother, right?

Not really. I won lots of times and that's how I got lots of coins. ovO Even if there are only for trophies. :s

I went on a random online match, chose link, and got with 3 random people. When the match started, they were all Captain Falcon, and they were all just spamming the 'Show me your moves' taunt. I lawled, and after the round I went Captain Falcon and joined them.

This is the shining point of Brawl's online pubs. Not actually playing the game, but just paling around with three other people you will probably never get to know. Like Omegle.

Well, it's just coins. I'm pretty sure a hacker would give himself infinity coins instead of just trying to win them in matches. Even if he wanted to do it that way, he could do offline matches where he could increase his earning tenfold.

In other words, there's nothing you can earn online that you can't get offline. ;)

I'll have to start refreshing myself then! Brawl training starts tomorrow :3

I'm up for matches but we would have to decide a specific time of day or else it would be nearly impossible to get people on at the same time.

Actually, if you "main" a character, that means your usually good at playing the character, or like the character. Like I said in the original post, I main Metaknight(use him a lot), Kirby, and Pokemon trainer. I sometimes use Toon link or Ike and sometimes Sonic if I feel like it.

Hmmm... Maybe a time suitable for all time zones? A lot of people seem to live in America... Maybe 9:00 PM in America? (don't know the time zone for America, I forgot :P) in one day from now, we will start, so people can train for it and sign up if they're gone. Pm me your friend code if you wanna join. Also if there is more than 4 people we will split the matches. My goal is to get at least 4 people to sign up so we will have a 4-way brawl. ovO

We could add everyones friend code that they post to the first page I'm not sure if everyone has to register each other or just register the person hosting the match 4 player matches are workable if each player has a good network.

(I've been practicing brawl again and lvl 9's are owning me curse my months of not playing the game.  ovO )

I think everyone could just register me hosting it and add everyone's friend code because when you start a friend match with someone you don't know, it says "would you like to add *insert name* as a friend?" on their player number thingy.

I use the wiimote, you lose the grab button, but it allows to have a better dodge; which is important to me

Not true, the grab button is the minus buttion

I think we still need your friend code, to start I don't think there's an invite button on brawl at least from what I checked there isn't.

I actually find the wiimote+nunchuck; the hardest way to play Brawl, it's too difficult to keep track of both devices

I just refuse to learn a new way to play. I'm able to use the Gamecube controller, so why switch? Besides, I'm clumsy enough while using Gamecube controller as it is.
