Backstory: When Moon Stone was a filly, she was rather curious and was interested in potions. One day, she coaxed her mother and father into buying a potion book. She learned how to make many potions, except for one. It was potion that needed a rare rock, a rock called Moon Stone. The book said that the effects were unknown. Moon spent a long time searching for it, until one day, she found it. She followed the directions of the potion, and drank it. She was excited to find out that the effects of the potion was that she could make parts of her body like her mane, tail, and coat glow.

One day, while Moon was flying around over the Everfree, she saw in a clearing a group of ponies that were lost. She made her mane and tail glow and lead the group out of of the Everfree. That's when she got her cutiemark.

She lives in Ponyville, and whenever she finds a group of lost ponies, she leads them to safety. However, she isn't good with directions herself.
