I just learned that awhile exists, and it's different from a while.
They can be uses almost interchangeably, but a while needs a preposition before it, while awhile does not.

There are hidden colors that most people in the world can't see. Colors not of the 6 from the rainbow.
There are rare people who have 4 types of cones in their eyes instead of 3, and they're the ones who can see these hidden colors. Usually, when one of us with 3 cones sees one of these secret colors, our brain can't quite comprehend the information of this secret color that's a mix of two colors, so it ignores one color and displays the other.
For example, there's a mix of blue and yellow, but it's not green. It's just not green. It's kind of a bluish-yellow, maybe. But like I said, those of us who only have 3 types of cones can't see it because our brain ignores one color - in this case, the blue - and shows us the other color - yellow. Scientists have been coming up with tricks to be able to try to see these colors.
There is one "secret" color that the majority of people can see, though. It's called pink. The way color is perceived is different from the way physical pieces of color are mixed in paint and such. The way pink is mixed is red and white, but the way that it is perceived by the eyes is red + purple. There are some people who can't perceive certain shades of pink.
This explains that annoying moment when you see pink, but someone else calls it purple!! They can't help it! Their eyes just can't see the pink! There's too much purple in it, so their brain ignores the red part!

I've never seen an animal with heterochromia and split face at the same time. :I
Heterochromia = The condition of having two different colors in your eyes.
It can come in three different forms.
- Complete: Each eye is fully a different color. Like that cat.
- Central: Both eyes are a certain color, but there's a ring of another color around the pupils.
- Sectoral: Both eyes are a mix of two different colors.
All three can occur in humans. In animals, complete and sectoral are more likely to occur, with complete being the most common. Some dog breeds are more prone to heterochromia than others. Australian Shepherds are prone to both complete and sectoral heterochromia.
My sister had an albino boxer who had one blue eye and one brown eye he sadly died of a disease a few years after they got him though, which upset my nephew a lot since it was his favorite dog, but before I saw his dog I didn't even know dogs could have odd eyes.
After watching another episode of bear grylls you can apparently eat fish eyes to stay hydrated on a desert island. :x
Genetics can be weird, especially when you're breeding animals. In fact, it's probably a good idea to ask a vet before you decide to breed your cat or dog.
If a completely white cat has blue eyes or one blue eye, it is exponentially more likely to be born deaf on whichever side the blue eye is on.
If you want to breed a Scottish Fold cat, you have to breed it with a cat whose ears aren't folded. Otherwise, the kittens can be born with a defect where they don't have enough cartilage.
Never breed two merle-colored Australian Shepherds together. Ever. The puppies will be much more likely to be born deaf and/or blind. That is the reason that there are brown-and-white and black-and-white Australian Shepherds in existence.
Blue merle:

Red merle:

All Labrador Retrievers are capable of birthing puppies of different colors. It doesn't matter if you breed two black ones together. Those two black Labs can still have yellow, chocolate, and black puppies.
Silver Labs have started to appear, but the AKC doesn't recognize it as an official color yet.
I learned that no matter how much you touch a baby bird the mother will actually always take it back.
I've heard of a type of cat breed where they have a longer spine then a normal cat but because their rib cage stays small they actually have a lot of health problems and possible death from aging because theres no room for their organs to grow as they age, I hope to never end up with a cat like that it would be horrible just to know what might happen to it. :c
That blue merle looks awesome, other then not breeding them with another merle they don't have any common health problems for that breed do they? o_o
I just looked it up. Their most common health problems are apparently eye problems. Red eye, epiphora, conjunctivitis, and cataracts. They can also have skin and respiratory problems.

I'm not entirely sure if it's actually a chimera, considering that
1. That's a tortoiseshell cat, and it's apparently
extremely common for them to have a split-color face like that. Mine has it (to a lesser degree), and my mom's coworker's tortoiseshell cat has it too.
2. It's not very rare for a cat to have heterochromia (two different-colored eyes).
Now, if scientists actually managed to make that the way they've magically made chimera rats, then I'll believe that cat is actually a chimera. Or if that cat actually has two different sets of DNA that you can take from it, like in human chimeras.
My computer can't handle Mann Vs Machine :c

I still find it pretty bizarre that cats and dogs are capable of being born with a split-colored face where the color splits in a straight line. o.O
And that it's so common in tortoiseshell cats. What is it about tortoiseshell cats that make them have a split-colored face so much?!!

Are you telling me it's just a coincidence? Their mother is actually really tall herself. Her son, who she had with her first husband, is freakishly tall. The daughter that I mentioned was had with her current husband, and she's extremely tall.
More or less the father determines the height of the child. The mother determines the weight. If though the mothers weight ratio is to much for a tall frame, you will be forced to be short so your bones don't break.
Quote from: Lord of Madness on 2012 Aug 29, 00:26:13
Fathers determine height mothers determine weight.
I don't really think weight is carried over in genetics, genetics can play a big factor in how your body gains weight or if you have a condition that causes weight gain, but if you were born completely healthy I think it ultimately depends on if you exercise and eat right, I think something other than genetics affects weight before you're born.
My cousin's father and mother are shorter than him but he still ended up tall likely from someone else in his family line, I think you can inherit traits from your grandparents but I'm not sure.
Genetics determine your body make up. A huge one is actually natural bone density. which determines height. but nutrition also determines how well your body can adapt to its height and help. but other than that Genetics determine height. That is why you stop growing at one point and dont grow forever. Ever see those giants that grow over 10 ft tall and have body problems? its because of genetics.
Err, I know. :s
I was just saying that my cousin is taller than his parents so it's not ultimately up to parents to determine your height, or else he would have been shorter or as tall as as them, and from what I've just read you can inherit traits from grandparents, that were recessive in your parents but not in you, if I'm not wrong on this.
I just learned that it's pretty easy to imagine the character Justin Law from Soul Eater as a brony, especially after you see him headbutt someone, shouting "This is a headbutt of love!!!" Imagine him listening to brony music while kicking evil's butt "Love and Tolerate" style.

That trying to sneak up and tame a wild kitten is a lot harder because of how easily they can turn around even after you caught them and sink their claws into your hand. I tried petting it and it rotated on it's back while I had it and clawed me. :I
Usually once I catch them I try to pet them until they calm down.
The best way to tame a wild cat takes time. Feed it for a few days, and it'll start to trust you. Its trust will become more obvious when it'll eat even while you're present. Eventually, you'll be able to get close to it, but it takes a while longer to get to touch it.
It varies with cats, though. It's easier with cats that used to be pets but went wild, and it's also easier with kittens, unless the mom interferes.
We've been feeding a stray black cat, and ever since we started petting him, he just can't get enough. He adores receiving love and affection, and he really likes to love on female cats. He actually got into our house one day when we were bringing in groceries, and he fell over while rubbing his side against my cat Rose's side.
Also, my cat Callie, was a stray. When a neighbor got animal control to set up traps to clear out the massive amount of stray cats, Callie was the only one left because she never left our yard. She stayed even though we stopped putting food out. She was just a kitten, and we had accidentally gotten her to fall in love with us as a family.
Like I said before, it varies with cats. She stayed because she has a more open, loving, affectionate personality than most cats.
The mother is tame she's one of our outside cats but her kittens are wild because we weren't around them when they were smaller, and she didn't bring them out of wherever she had them until they were older. They even let us get close to them and watch them eat. But try to pet one and it claws you or runs away.
I'm sure it's only a matter of time, then. ^-^ When a stray we were feeding, Missy, was almost ready to have her kittens, I think winter was coming. We were afraid the kittens wouldn't make it if she had them outside, so we managed to bring her into the house and put her in a box we set up. Eventually, she had the litter under our supervision.
She and the kittens are on a farm now. :D The guy we gave her to had been looking for cats to hunt the mice in his barn. What better cat than one who has had experience hunting for herself?
My mom was talking about giving them away at walmart or something, because if we don't we will end up with a cat army since we already have a few cats outside which is nice since we never have mice problems. ^-^ But the only problem with giving them away at walmart is hoping the person you give them away to will treat them correctly and trying to tame them so they don't freak out and claw people.
