Stereo lived with his brother, surprisingly in Cloudsdale. His 'parents', it turned out, were not parents, but traders in child labour. They were stolen as foals, as Alicorns, but underwent a magical procedure that temporarily removed their wings, so as to avoid suspicion with the royal guard in Cloudsdale. When they tried to get a large amount of money for the children, they found that nopony believed that they were Alicorns. The 'parents' couldn't prove themselves, as the Unicorn that could give their wings back had packed and ran off with his money. As a result, the 'parents' resorted to keeping the children for their own labour. They managed to get the childrens magical ability somewhat sealed, but Stereo managed to regain his connection, eleven years later, with the help of Twilight Sparkle at the best young fliers competition. Memories of what had happened slowly began coming back, and in desperation, his 'parents' beat him, hoping to wane his enthusiasm for magic completely. This didn't work, however, as Princess Luna, knowing of Stereo's Alicorn heritage, subtely guided and encouraged Stereo through a series of messages, all embedded in dreams. Stereo eventually, by chance, ended up in a school music room, while trying to find a way to demonstrate Unicorn magic to an all-pegasus class. The music teacher, Mr Noteshine, notices that he possesses great skill in instrumental music, and begins training him. Soon, his 'parents' find out, barging into one of his music lessons. He defends himself, improvising a speech that, in a literally explosive force of magic, reveals his cutie mark. Along with this comes all of his memories. Princess Luna arrives minutes later, and the 'parents' are tried in Canterlot, found guilty of numerous charges. Stereoheart and his brother, Frisky, are sent to live in Ponyville. The continuation is yet to be written.
