Hello, everypony. This is an open RP and it is my first one so far! (This can be a semi-romance RP as well, just keep it family friendly! )

Akira A. Charlotte
======================================================================
Ah, the fresh air of Hollywood. * Akira said as she breathed in deeply from her hotel balcony * Time to take charge of this day, Akira. * she grabbed her bag and walked outside towards the "Fashion La Chic Industry", looking down at her bag making sure she had everything *
/ Interesting RP, Rarity Diva! /
* Sparkle B. Heart was running down the street, papers flying * Oh, no, I'm late on the first day! * she said as she bumped into Akira * Oh, I'm sorry! * she said as she kept running *
An earth pony stallion with a burgundy coat and a hat outfitted with a decorative exotic feather, walks by Fashion La Chic Industry. He pays little attention to the other ponies until a clear collision could be seen, and then he rushes to action. "Are you all right?" he asks concernedly, his emerald green eyes glittering slightly in the morning sun.
Spoiler: Picture of OC just cause show
Has that pony ever heard of the word "excuse me" before? * she got up and dusted her bag off and looked at the earth pony * Oh, um, yes I am quite alright.
"That's a relief," he says with a sigh of relief. "Never quite understood why these city ponies need to get everywhere so fast, must be there diet," he goes on to say, slowly trailing off into his thoughts.
* she walked through the doors of Fashion La Chic, looking around nervously *
Must be... * she looked down at the watch on her hoof * well, it was nice to meet you Mr... * she gave a slightly confused look * ..might I ask what your name is?
// Can I be the owner of Fashon La chic? /
// Of course, Lemon! ^-^
Blaze blinks and stares blankly at Akira for a moment before recomposing himself and returning full attention to her. "But of course. Blazing Legend, carographer extraordinaire at your service!" he finally answers with a bow.
* she smiled and looked back down at the watch * Oh, I'm running late. It was nice to meet you, Mr. Legend. * she turned and walked towards Fashion La Chic *
"Fair well!" he replies simply whilst waving goodbye with his right hoof.
[I hope you don't mind me jumping in for a while. This looks like it has the potential to turn interesting.]What would probably been an otherwise uneventful walk towards this "Fashion La Chic" Akira had been moving towards, something on the side of the road just had to interrupt.
And that something, was an apparently unconscious unicorn stallion, with a dirtied Earls Green coat and a similarly dirty head of blonde mane, and an unusually fluffy-looking tail to go with it. If appearances were anything to go by, he's had a rough time.
Spoiler: Appearance (Clean) show
For the moment, it seemed that nopony was paying him any mind. What sort of brutes would just leave a pony lying in the streets, though?
Noticing the dirtied clump of a unicorn down on his luck, Blaze walks over and gives the heap a soft kick. "You alright?"
* she stopped walking and looked at the unconscious stallion * Oh my, are you alright, sir? * she walked up to him with a concerned look, quickly glancing at her watch and back at the stallion *
The unicorn began coughing violently the moment he was touched, seeming to regain consciousness, if only a bit of it.
And that was the point that a vicious growling was heard. "F... F-food... I... need..." The unicorn then began coughing violently at this point.
Being so close, it was easily apparent that his condition wasn't something caused only by his apparent lack of food and shelter.
Multiple faded bruises and cuts, for example, were a clear indicator that he must have been assaulted. Some time ago, it seemed. A few days at the most.
* Growing impatient waiting for Akira to arrive, Panini V. Penelope walked out of Fashion La Chic * This is her first day and she is already late! * she spotted Akira and quickly ran over to her, stepping over the unconscious unicorn and dragging Akira towards Fashion La Chic * Akira, I don't pay you to stand around doing nothing! Time is money and your wasting it!
But that unicorn is in desperate need of help! And you didn't even pay me yet!
Blaze rummages through his saddlebags a bit before retrieving and odd looking fruit/vegetable. "I was going to bring this to market, but you need it far more than I do," he says whilst handing the plant over.
"W-what is... this...?" The unicorn feebly asked, holding the strange thing in his hooves staring skeptically at it. It's almost as if he expected it to be poisonous or something.
"Food. Not sure on the name."
* still dragging Akira, she walked into Fashion La Chic and let Akira go * First rule of Fashion La Chic. Never care about anypony but yourself. * she grabbed a rolled up paper * Since your late, this will be your first assignment. I expect this dress to be done by night fall. * she turned towards Sparkle * From now on, you will be Akira's assistant. Now both of you, go and collect fabric and begin your work. * she turned and walked away *
* she put the roll of paper down and straightened her bow * Who does that pony think she is, dragging me here like that... * she dusted herself off * ...wait, did she say assistant? * she looked at Sparkle * Hey, your that pony who bumped into me, which was rude... anyway, my name is Akira. And you are?
The unicorn looked at Blaze with an expression of disbelief. "Are... Are you...? Serious?" He had asked, looking between the earth pony and the mystery food that he was given.
Then his stomach growled again, reminding the colt of just how hungry he really was. Tentatively, he began to nibble on the thing.
As if realizing it wasn't harmful, though, his pace quickened. And I do mean quickened. As in, zero to Rainboom quick.
As a result, the whole thing was devoured in about ten seconds. Flat, probably, if one bothered to make sure.
His energy seemingly restored, the unicorn shakily got back up onto his feet, trying to brush some dirt off of his coat.
"Ooh... Much better... Not enough, but I think I can make it work. Thanks, Stranger..."
* Looking as if she was on pins and needles, she started talking in a fast pace * Oh I am sorry for bumping into you I just had a really long day yesterday and I just really want this job to work, and I was up all night, so I over slept and I was rushing and apparently didn't see where I was going, so I am sorry and-- oh and my name is Sparkle Heart and wait, I'm your assistant?
"Glad you feel better," Blaze says whilst eating a plant similar to that which he gave to Illusion.
* Having no idea what she said, she just nodded slightly * Oh, um, nice to meet you.. * she smiled and walked out of F.L.C "Fashion La Chic" and looked at the paper * Ok, so we need to go fabric hunting... hmm... * she starts writing down a list of fabric material *
"Urgh... I'd feel much better if I wasn't in this situation to begin with! Stinking thieves... Bashed me on the head, took my cart, and pounded on me some more for good measure! Left me penniless, the jerks!"
The unicorn just sat there, silently fuming for a moment. "S'not like the rest of this town's any better. Can't be bothered to look at anything lower than their noses, with how high they've got them stuck in the air...! I hate nobles...!"
He then sighed, shaking his head. "How rude of me... I didn't mean to blow up like that, friend. I am Grand Illusion, magician extraordinaire, and traveling performer. Except, right now I'll be neither traveling nor performing without my cart, as everything I needed for an act was in there..."
"Blazing Legend, cartographer extraordinaire," Blaze introduces himself before continuing to say, "And sorry about the cart, not much I can do to rectify that though."
*she tore the list in half * Here, you take one half, I take the other. We meet back here. * looking down at the list, she walked away * Ok, lets see...
"And neither am I asking you to." Illusion had responded. "What I need is a job, just something to get me back up onto my feet... And maybe make enough money to get a new cart. Anything at all will do, but just look at me! Nopony's going to give me the time of day, with the state I'm in!"
Ok, Sparkle, don't mess this job up... * she looked down at the list and was completely confused at the list of exotic material * ....um, hm.. * she sat down, studying the list carefully *
"Well, I'm making a very profitable delivery today, and I may be able to spare a few bits if you're willing to help out."
* with a huge stack of material floating beside her, she walked back to F.L.C and saw Sparkle sitting down * Sparkle, did you get the fabric? I don't see any...
* she looked up and fell over * AH! Oh, um, hi, Akira... I, uhhhh... I'm working on it? * she looked at the list * Umm... what's this? * she pointed at a material name *
:facehoof: It's velvet... look, just give me the list, and you carry these back inside.. * she sighed before walking off with the list * ...patience is key, Akira...
* immediately losing her balance trying to carry the fabric, she fell over again, a whole wave of fabric floating upwards and back down into the dust, turning from their pure color into a brown, dirty color * Oh no! Not the fabric! * she frantically tried to dust them off, but only made it worse* O: * seeing that dusting it off wouldn't help, she sat down and began to cry * Great job, Sparkle! This is the 99th job you've ruined for yourself! :c
"A delivery, you say? Sounds promising. And what exactly will we be delivering?"
*Suri Got off the train while holding her suitcases*
"A bit of this and a bit of that, bit mostly fabrics and beads."
"You're being a bit vague... Oh, what the heck, I'll help. I'm not in much of a position to start getting picky!"
* she came back again with more fabric and saw Sparkle crying with the ruined fabric, as soon as she saw the disaster, she yelled at the top of her lungs in anger which could be heard at quite a distance * THE FABRIC! SPARKLE, I GIVE YOU ONE THING TO DO, ONE THING AND YOU RUINED IT! NOW I'LL GET FIRED! * she continued yelling *
"I'll be right back... Go ahead without me if I'm not back within ten minutes." Illusion had said, before he wandered off towards the source of incredibly loud shouting. Shouting that sounded familiar. Thankfully, it didn't take him long to find that source
"Um, excuse me?" The unicorn had asked upon seeing the scene before him. "Is something wrong?"
Of course there was something wrong, and he knew it right off that bat. He just didn't know what. All he saw was two upset mares and a pile of nice brown fabric.
//where does this take place exactly?
Suri : Big city... so many oportunities... sigh...
ono I didn't drop the fabric on purpose! Please listen! * trying to talk over the yelling was of no use, so as loud as she could she yelled * AT LEAST LISTEN TO THE UNICORN BEHIND YOU! * the yell instantly caused a sore throat, so she coughed and looked as Akira, hoping she heard her *
*Suri Opened the door and opened the suitcases*
Suri : i wonder where can i get more of this
Blaze sighs, rolls his eyes, and walks into Fashion La Chic Industry with his delivery of exotic fabrics, beads, and threads.
"Hello? Delivery here!"
"Oh, so that's the issue..." Illusion had said to himself, somehow able to hear that small voice over Akira's screaming.
Against his better judgement when faced with an angry mare, he got a bit closer, staring at the apparently stained fabric.
And no, it didn't seem like they were originally brown. Okay, wow, now he saw just why they were both so upset. That stuff looked expensive.
"Hey, you two know what- Oh, for the love of- WHAT COLOR WAS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE? RED?" The unicorn asked loudly, hoping to be heard over the drama.
Oh, finally the new fabric! Just put them over there. * she heard all of the yelling and walked outside * What in Celestia's name is going on out here?! * she saw the drama and yelling * :facehoof:
* she stopped yelling and turned to the unicorn and, clearly upset, she took her anger out on him * Who do you think you are rudely interrupting my conversation with my assistant?!
Blaze drops off his wears at the designated area, and browses around the store a bit.
Illusion promptly yelped, his horn flashing as the fabrics began to glow, appearing to change color on the spot. "One of these ladies had a nasty fall, Ma'am!" He quickly said to the new arrival to the scene.
"Woulda ruined her fabrics and such if I didn't decide to get involved." He added, snatching up said fabrics, now a deep shade of blue, with his magic, which was green in color, and presenting the apparently restored cargo to Akira.
"I think this is yours...?" He said, hoping desperately that the mare would just go along with it. "Maybe you should calm down a bit, though..."
* she saw Panini and quickly went along with it * Oh, yes, thank you. * she looked at Sparkle * Sorry for yelling at you.. * she walked up to Panini * I have some fabric for you to look over. My assistant picked half of them.
* she looked at the fabric * Just make sure that your assistant does not fall again! These fabrics aren't everyday material, you know! * she studied the fabric * Hmm... she made quite a few good choices on the fabric, though... good. Now come along, both of you! * she walked back inside of F.L.C *
* she jumped up and smiled * That's ok. ^-^ * she followed Panini * Wait, so does this mean I'm not fired??
* she rolled her eyes * No, Sparkle, you are not fired... this time... Akira, I expect you to be more careful! Hmm... * she separated the fabric * These four will be your working material. These other ones will go to storage for the other mares. The new delivery of more fabric has arrived. Collect whatever is necessary and get to work!
"Um, excuse me...?" Illusion had called out to the apparent owner, walking inside of the... F.L.C, and actively trying to keep his distance from anything that looked nice."Could I trouble you for a brief moment? I have something I wish to ask..."
* She sighed and looked at the unicorn * I'm on a busy schedule. What do you want?
"My apologies, but I had wished to speak of the subject of employment... Now, admittedly, you seem to have a fair few workers, and, well, I honestly know very little about tailoring. However, I am still a stallion of many other talents, and I do learn quickly. And, um, it's true that I must look like some sort of vagabond... To that, I will make the excuse that I have not had good luck these past few days, particularly with the local thieves, hence my need of a job..."
Illusion then sheepishly grinned, rubbing at the back of his head. "Er, if that doesn't strike your interest, perhaps I could have a quick word with those two employees of yours? A quick five minute conversation, it's all I ask. And I promise I won't dirty anything."
* she stared at the unicorn for a minute * You seem to have potential... my employees can talk to you. I have a meeting to get to. Akira, see to it that he doesn't dirty up the place while I'm gone...* she walked away *
Yes, Panini... Sparkle, get some threads and beads, will you? * she turned to the unicorn * So, what is it that you would like to ask?
Ok. * she walked towards the cargo * Now lets see...which beads and threads...? * she started rummaging through everything *

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I walk down the streets of Hollywood, in hopes of finding a record label or a manager or some sorts. I didn't have much of a job, I'm just working in a coffee shop. I slip on my earbuds and my music player and turn on "True Colors", one of my favorite songs. As I'm walking down the streets, I slowly begin to sing. My walk slows to a stop as I slowly sit down onto the front steps of my condo complex, I just sit there on the concrete steps, still singing.
(I hope that's a good rp starter.)
( Very good RP starter! ^-^ )
"I'm not asking anything, I just needed to tell you something. Both of you." Illusion had said, nervously looking around, as if worried about eavesdroppers. Not only that, but he seemed nervous that some anger would be taken out on him. Again.
"Um... That spell you saw me cast on your fabric? It's not permanent. Your materials may look fine now, but in reality, it's completely ruined, and it'll look as such again in just a few hours."
@SpiritAdagio319Having grown bored of the truly ridiculous things that the Hollywood stallions and mares were wearing, Blaze left the storefront and made his way out of the building. Being the exploring type, Blaze began doing what he had truly come to Hollywood to do, and began roaming the relatively calm side streets. Eventually coming across a young mare sitting on the front steps of her condo, Blaze gave a friendly greeting. "Good morning!"
* she tried her best not to freak out * So you mean that the fabric is... really ruined?? And Panini's meeting is over in a few hours...Oh, Celestia... * she sat down * This is not good... Sparkle, go to the storage room and get the fabric! We have a few hours to try and fix it..!
* she ran to the storage room and came back with the fabric * What do we do, Akira?? WHAT DO WE DO?! WE COULD GET FIRED THIS TIME! * she began freaking out * I CAN'T BE FIRED FOR THE 99th TIME! ono
Sparkle!! * she looked around at the staring mares and stallions * Um, she's just having a fashion crisis...um, nothing to worry about... * she turned to sparkle * Do you know what an inside voice is?? Try and at least freak out silently! We can fix this... * with her magic, a piece of fabric glowed white and floated up in the air * We can't wash these, they are too delicate... hmm...
"What about dye? They're not too delicate for that, are they?" Illusion had suggested. "I'm not gonna pretend I know how the process works, but just dyeing them to their proper color sounds like something that should work, doesn't it? I'm sure you have the color blue somewhere around here..."
That could work! * she grabbed the fabric * Um.. Akira, where is the dye around here?
* she grabbed a box full of dye * Ok, now first things first. * she put the fabric in a dye bowl and poured some dye in *
"Right, you deal with that. I'm gonna go ahead and do what I can to keep the nosy nobles off your back."
Illusion had said, heading back out into the main room of the F.L.C in order to do just that. Surely, the outrage that such a dirty vagabond like him was within twenty feet of them would keep them all busy.
* she took the fabric out * Perfect! * she hung it up to dry and followed the same steps with another piece of fabric *
//where does this take place hello?
@annosrules I looked up to see a stallion greeting me, I took my earbuds out and put them in my hoodie pocket. "Hello" I said. "Can I help you?" I asked politely.
"If you'd like. I seem to have lost track of where it is that I am going. Something about a theater, or something?"
@annosrules "Hmm, I believe there's one down the street." I spoke, pondering a little. "If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to go to the theater?" I asked politely.
"I told you, sir, the owner of this establishment is in a meeting..." Illusion's voice was heard out in the entrance of the F.L.C, apparently fending off "hostile" customers. "No, I don't know when she'll be available. No, I don't have her number. Yes, you should be listening to the unicorn who looks like a filthy street urchin. Why you-! The nerve of some ponies! I'm applying for a job, thank you very much; spoke to her myself! No, you can't talk to somepony else; they're busy doing their jobs. Please, come back later."
"Well I traveled a great distance to get here, and might as well enjoy Hollywood while I can. I've been told that some of Equestria's greatest performances are put on here, and thought that it was worthwhile to check out." Blaze answers honestly.
My eyes widened a little at the words spoken by the stallion, Equestria's greatest performances? Maybe if I check the place out, I could find the career I've been dreaming of. "If it's alright, may I come with you?" I asked.
"As long as you don't make a habit out of it, I can't see why not."
Ok, I already have the beads and threads, so we can get started! * she said, picking up the dry fabric * So, um, what's the first step?
A grin appeared on my face "I promise I won't" I said as I stood up, and walked off the steps and next to the stallion. "Ready when you are" I spoke.
Blaze nods his head and turns down the street, leading onward to the theaters.
I followed the earth pony stallion towards the theatre. "So, since we just met, I guess I'll introduce myself" I said. "I am Sira Auburn" I spoke, looking at the stallion as I trotted beside him.
"Blazing Legend, cartographer extraordinaire, at your service," Blaze introduces himself with a bow.
I smile at his bow. "It's certainly a pleasure to meet you, what are you in hollywood for? a job maybe?" I ask.
"The scenes, the sights, and the geography, though the ponies aren't half bad either." He jests, laughing a bit at his joke.
She giggled a little at his response. "That's certainly interesting. As for me, I've been trying to get mysef a job in Musical Arts, haven't had any luck though" She responded.
"It's not about luck, not really. The lucky ones often find themselves in a far worse state than those who've been chosen for their skill. Take it from me, I've had to save a wayward 'explorer' more than once during my expeditions." The two were nearing the theaters, and gold stars depicting the names and faces of famous ponies begin being seen inlaid into the sidewalk.
I became deep in thought, he said such wise words. I will definitely save that advice for later, I mentally thought. We began to near the theater, we knew just by seeing the stars imprinted into the sidewalk. The marks and signatures of famous ponies. "Wow, I didn't know there had been so many famous ponies" I said in wonder.
"Immortality at its finest. Heroes of their time, paving the path for others to follow. One day I hope to write my name in the history books, but for now it goes in the corner of the finest maps bits can by." Match rambles on, his wisdom far outweighing his years. "But that's enough about me, what are your goals?"
* she put some fabric on a pony doll * Ok, first things first... * she looked at the paper that Panini gave her * A free flowing fall dress with some accessories. Hm, shouldn't be too hard..
//so noone is gonna tell me huh?
"My goals? Well, I hope to get a music career, as I stated previously. I came from a poor family, I guess you could say. I hope that maybe by pursuing my dream, I could maybe help my family. Excuse how cheesy that sounded" I answered.
"Well, I've never had money problems personally, nature provides to those who seek it out."
[Alright, fine, I'll crack. It's Hollywood, Misty.]
If you read the first post a little more you'd have seen that for yourself, but oh well...
Illusion, having talked down the more unbearable of the F.L.C's customers, had soon found himself a bench to rest on right out front, waiting for the two mares he'd met to finish whatever they were now doing, or for Panini to be done with her meeting and return. Whichever happened first.
Either way, though, it looked like he was about to fall asleep waiting. And as the unicorn waited, he couldn't help but start thinking things of a rather depressing nature.
Look at me... Graduate from Celestia's School for Gifted unicorns, with a Theatre Arts Major... reduced to a homeless failure by a group of nobodies with sticks and stones...
"That's true, to be honest... I feel like my goal is just about to be reached. I mean, I'm not sure when, but I know soon" I said, smiling a little.
"Looks like we've reached our destination," Blaze says as the two come up to a large ornate building with a list of performances listed outside.
//ah Las Pegasus got it
Suri : looks like i.ll need more fabric..*she locks the apartment and heads into the city*
Wait, wait, wait... a free flowing what? * she looked puzzled, having not the slightest idea as to what type of dress Akira was talking about *
* Panini came out of the meeting * Oh, finally! * she sat down to take a rest from the long hours of talking *
* she looked at Sparkle * I said a free flowing fall dress with accessories.. * she began tracing shapes onto the fabric carefully * Pass me the scissors and thread, please.
Illusion let out a huge yawn, failing to notice that Panini had taken a seat beside him (Assuming she actually went back to the F.L.C...). "Where is she...? It can't take this long to talk things over, can it?"
"...Maybe this wasn't such a good idea." He said to himself. "Look at me, covered in dirt and bruises, and yet I had the nerve to ask for a job at a place like this..."
Oh, ok... * she said slowly, still unsure as to what she was talking about * So, um, which color thread do you need? * she asked, rummaging through supplies and more fabric *
((Just gonna list a few of the musicals I know with pony puns into them ^.^))
And he was right, I turned my head and looked at all of the musicals listed. "The Windago of The Opera", "The Pony of Monte Cristo", "Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde", and while bunch more. I didn't say anything, I was just silent. Awestruck.
"Any of these strike your fancy? I'm not very knowledgeable on this subject, to be honest."
"Yes, there are a few of my Mom's favorites here. She was the one who got me into my music-seeking career" I answered.
"Well I'm in a good mood and don't really have anything to spend the bits I just made on, so you can pick the play and I'll pay for your admission," Blazing offers with a smile.
My face went awestruck. "Wow, really? Then..." I looked back to the posters and decided which one we'd see. "The Windago of The Opera, I think you'll like it!" I said, face beaming with a smile.
"I hope so, it's not often that I get a good show and good company," Blaze said with a bit of a laugh as he's reminded of previous encounters, and lack there of.
I chuckled lightly along with the stallion, I smiled. "It's not everyday that I meet a new pony as nice as you, most of the ponies I've encountered here can be a bit harsh. But that's nothing to fret about." I spoke, words full of kindness.
* she adjusted her shades and sighed heavily as she flipped through papers on her clipboard * Ok, lets see... hmm... *she put her hoof on her chin as she looked in deep thought at an important piece of paper * Hm...
Hm.. orange, red, brown, black, yellow, and an off-white color will do. * she began cutting the fabric *
Ok, um, lets see... orange, red, brown, black, yellow and... * she looked at the pile of white threads * ..off white? These all look the same to me.... hm.. * she began looking at each thread carefully *
* she was almost done with the brown fall dress and grabbed some black thread and leather to make a belt, humming to herself as she worked *
"I probably should have asked you this earlier when we were still at your house, but do you have any formal wear? Because even though I don't care much for the fine linens of the upper-class, they do tend to make getting into the classier locations a lot easier."
Illusion yawned once more. "Doesn't look like she'll be back for a while longer... Might as well catch some sleep. A nap might do me some good..."
However, just as he was about to try and make himself comfortable, only then was the moment did he notice a mare next to him. And a vaguely familiar-looking one at that.
"Panini?" He asked.
"Formal? Yes I do, I have a dress I wore to The Grand Galloping Gala a few years back. A friend made it for me, it's still in great condition too. Would you like me to head home and go put it on?" I asked.
"Only if you want to," Blaze says in a humble reply.
"it's not a problem, I'll go get changed" I said, turning and running home. I opened my condo door with my key, and closed the door behind me. I went to my room and into my closet, picking out the former gala dress and dressing into it.
The dress: http://pre10.deviantart.net/a645/th/pre/i/2013/036/6/d/custom_dress_design_for__star4567980_by_demonreapergirl-d5tz5yc.png
I put my mane into a down style, but more formal looking with the added hair pins I put in. There, all good. I slipped out the door and back on the streets. I trotted back to the stallion, smiling.
"Alright, I'm in my dress. You like?" I asked.
Blazing Legend is now in a tuxedo, an odd look for the pony who's normally quite rough. "It looks excellent," Blaze compliments as he makes his way to the payment booth. "Two tickets for 'The Wendigo of the Opera' please," he says to the cashier, handing over a hoof-full of bits as payment.
I'm still smiling ((I smile all the time don't I?)), I've never been excited to see a musical before, well, it's because I've never had chances to. But I do now.
"Then I hope that the performance is worth the excitement."
* Panini looked up from the paper and looked at the unicorn * Oh, your that unicorn from earlier, right? * she asked, carefully putting her clipboard down *
"Yes... That would be me. I didn't exactly have much to do, so..." Illusion cleared his throat. "Well, you did say It looked like I had potential, and I didn't want to end up missing you when you got back. But if things have changed, then I understand..."
Changed? Nothing has changed! I was actually talking about you during the meeting. They just need a few days to decide whether or not to make you part of F.L.C. * she grabbed her clipboard and continued writing *
"R-really?" Illusion had asked, perking up instantly. "You- I didn't quite expect- T-thank you, ma'am!" He then said as a grin found it's way onto his face.
"So, is there anything in particular you'd recommend I do to improve my chances? Besides getting cleaned up?"
* By this time the dress was finished * Now I just need the off-white thread. Sparkle, did you find it yet?
Well, there are quite a few things for you to do.. * she wrote down a list on paper and handed it to him * Just follow these 7 steps perfectly within the next few days, and you will be flawless! Oh, and the number one thing that you need to do is get a suit. Dress to impress! * she saw two mares fighting over a hair clip * :facehoof: I have some things to deal with... * she got up * Until next time, Mr. Unicorn. * she walked away *
"But how am I going to pay for-?" And the mare was already gone, much to Illusion's dismay.
I don't have a single bit on me! How am I supposed to get a suit?! Steal it?! Actually, I'll save that plan for later...
It was then that he noticed a dim lightbulb above his head, which he promptly switched on. Immediately after doing so, his horn began to glow, and he soon disappeared in a teleport.
He re-appeared seconds later inside the room both Akira and Sparkle had been working. Like before, he actively stayed away from anything that looked relatively nice.
"This isn't a bad time, is it...?" Illusion nervously asked.
Aha, found it! * she held up the off white colored thread triumphantly and saw the unicorn * Oh, hello, again! Do you need anything?
"Yeah, um... I need a favor. Trying to get a job, here, and Panini's given me this list here... One, I need a suit. And, no, I don't expect you to just give me one. What I do want to ask, though, is if you have a nearby place to wash up. And if you can, um... Have my vest cleaned off. I-I don't want to sound like I expect anything just because I did a favor, it's just..."
Illusion awkwardly cleared his throat, looking increasingly nervous. "I need to make a good impression if I want any hope of getting this job, and I really need some help in order to do that. Mostly because I don't have a single bit on me."
* While he was talking, Akira somehow already had a dazzling suit floating in front of him * You can clean up in one of the private bathrooms, down the hall to the left. ^-^
"Wait, you're serious? You're just up and giving me a-? I really don't know if... Tell you what, just... leave it on a chair for a bit, and then we can discuss whether I deserve it or not after I'm all cleaned up. Sound good? Alright, I'm off, and thanks again!"
And with that, Illusion had rushed out before either mare could argue with him, likely heading off to one of the private bathrooms Akira had mentioned.
But- * before she could get a word in, the unicorn was gone * ...well.. * she blinked a few times before putting the suit down and continued making a jacket for the dress *
... * she shrugged and helped Akira with the jacket * Ooh, the dress is nice, Akira! You did great!
* After giving a long, harsh life lesson to the two mares, she went back to her desk in the main office to continue doing business * Hmm, Akira seems to be doing well so far... * she said, looking a hidden camera to check on the mares *
"It will." I said.
The play begins shortly after the pair are seated, and an excellent performance is put on theater. At the end there is a small shout out for the Fashion La Chic Industry, who provided the majority of the costumes.
"Those were some of the best bits that I'll ever send," Blaze comments ecstatically, himself still being on a mental high from the euphoria of such a well done play.
"Really? I'm glad you liked it!" I said with a delighted expression.
"Well I guess it's about time that I set off. Places to see and ponies to meet, and all that." Blaze says with a hint of disappointment as he returns his rather worn hat to his head.
"Really? Oh well then, have this" I said, giving him a piece of paper. "Call me if you need anything" I said said.
Blaze looks at the numbers scribbled onto the paper with a bit of confusion, but just the same replies, "Thanks!"
* she finished the white sweater jacket and modeled it on the doll * I am liking this outfit! * she jumped around happily* Now to present it to Panini... * she looked nervous * Sparkle, do you think she would like it? * she stroked her mane, looking worried *
I nodded, and stood up. Walking out of the now empty theater, I walked myself home. I grabbed my key and unlocked my condo, swung the door open and closed it behind me. I walked to my room, and got a shower, then dressed in clean clothes.
I walked over to my desk, which had my recording microphone, my laptop, and my papers. I sat down, and opened the laptop. I went to my recording software and plugged in my Mic. I pulled out my sheet music, played the instrumental I made. And began to sing the song I had wrote.
What came out of the private bathrooms several minutes later, was an almost entirely different stallion that had gone in.
Gone was the dirty vagabond that had been afraid of so much as looking at the F.L.C's nicer pieces of clothing for fear of ruining them, and was replaced by-
Laying it on a bit thick...
Oh. Um... Let's just say he was entirely clean now, from the coat to the mane, to even his usual vest, and he looked far, far better because of it.
And, as he walked back down the hall, the overall response to his appearance had seen similar improvement. Now, the only reason he was turning heads at all was, well, he looked good. And he felt good, with his future turning brighter by the second!
Still a bit... much.
Oh, stop arguing with me and just go with it! It's your time to shine!
Despite all this, though, Illusion still looked uncomfortable, though for reasons a bit more different. He wasn't quite sure he appreciated the staring from the customers. Or the giggling he was starting to hear.
Eventually, it became a bit too much for him to bear and he quickened his pace right back into the workroom where he'd last met Akira and Sparkle.
Don't ever do that again, please...
"Phew...! Never knew how much better a little soap and water could make me feel...!"
* It took her a few minutes to realize that was the un-clean unicorn from before, but she quickly stopped staring and turned her attention to the suit * You look great! Now...um...for your suit. * she handed it to him *
"So... you're absolutely sure about this? I don't want to get you in trouble or anything... I mean, you've already repaid the favour just by pointing me in the right direction." Illusion had said, hesitant to take the suit.
And why did he have the oddest feeling that they were being watched?
I'm positive. We won't get in trouble for giving you a suit. Go ahead, take it. * she smiled *
"Well, if you're sure..." Illusion had said, carefully taking the suit with his magic. "Thanks again, miss... Ah... Oh dear..."
Aaauuuugh! All this time, and you don't even know her name?! Worse, she doesn't even know yours! What kind of horrible cretin are you?!
"Oh, I'm so sorry...! I don't even know your name, and I haven't even introduced myself for all this time! My name is Grand Illusion, and I, once again, thank you for all of your help."
Nice to meet you, Mr. Illusion. My name is Akira Charlotte and this is my assistant, Sparkle Heart. And also, is it just me or does anypony else feel like we are being watched?
* she stared at the suit that Akira had given Illusion* Wow, nice suit, Akira! Hmm she may get a raise for this! * she turned her attention to another camera * hmm I'm going to fire these three... * she saw three mares struggling with thread, getting entangled in a huge mess, as they struggled out the door * :l yup, there getting fired...
"No, no, just Illusion, if you please!" The unicorn had said. "No Misters, sirs, and the like. It makes me feel old. Anyway, it's been a pleasure to meet you both, mis- Er, I mean, Akira, Sparkle."
However, at the mention of being watched, it was only then did he decide to actually look around a bit.
"...Security cameras, maybe? I don't know too much of the industry, but I've heard that sabotage is frighteningly commonplace. Would make sense to put in a few cameras."
Well that's true. Anyway, good luck getting the job, Illusion. Sparkle, let's present the dress to Panini..hopefully she won't be too harsh.. * she put some finishing touches on the dress * ok, let's go..
"I'll be hanging about in the lobby for a bit if you need anything. See ya later." Illusion had said, before walking out of the workroom, but not before grabbing a plastic bag to carry his suit with. Said suit, he had gently folded up and placed into the bag. A cheap, but nice, protective sort of thing.
Taking a seat near the entryway, he placed his gift at his side, pulling out the list Panini had given to him. And that's when he ran into a problem.
"What in the..." Panini's writing. It appeared she had a rather... unique style. Either that, or she was writing in Prench. More likely, nobody had explained to the narrator what she had actually written.
Illusion was going with "all of the above", at least for the moment, until he could make out what was written.
..and I expect you three to come back more organized! * after lecturing the three mares, she scribbled something on a piece of paper and handed it to one of them * And yes I write in French, just find somepony who has enough time to explain what I wrote to you! * clearly under lot of stress, Panini did not have time for minor errors to get in her way * Akira! * she walked into the work room * Akira, is that dress done yet? * she saw the dress* oh...hmm...well, it's a great start...could have had more accessories...but good... * she studied the dress and patterns carefully*
Illusion's closed eyes began to twitch. And with a sudden burst of ill-concealed irritation, he tossed the paper into the air.
"Well that's real bloomin' nice! Prench! Thank you very much, Panini...!" He then sighed, barely registering the fact that the note had floated down onto his horn, where it had, oddly enough, stayed perfectly balanced.
This did little to improve his mood, but judging from the little chuckle he gave, it was a start.
Horn glowing, he folded the note with his magic and stuffed it into one of his vest pockets.
* she mentally facehoofed * I forgot the jewelry and a purse...* she sighed heavily* I just had alot going on, trying to get the dress done perfectly... but, what do you think about the dress overall? * growing more nervous at what Panini might say, Akira had to hold Sparkle's hoof just in case she goes into a drama zone...again... *
Overall... the dress is really nice. I like the brown color with the leaves at the bottom and I also like the off white sweater that gives an idea of fall. Really, really good job. But there are a few- actually quite a lot of things you need to work on.. * she wrote down a list and gave it to Akira. * 10 things for you to perfect yourself on. Hope you read Prench. :] * she walked off to check on other ponies and their designs *
Oh thank Celestia! * she looked down at the list* but I don't read.. * she saw that Panini had left already* ...Prench.. :l well that just great... now we need a Prench pony to translate this... * she sighed heavily and closed her eyes *
"This isn't a bad time, is it...?" Said a familiar voice from almost directly behind Akira. That familiar voice was, of course, Illusion, who had somehow gotten there entirely unseen.
* she turned and smiled * Oh no, not at all. Me and Sparkle where just trying to figure out how to read... * she looked down at the list as if she wanted to burn the words off of it * ...Prench, of course... * she looked back up * Is there something wrong with the suit or something?
"Aaand it was written by Panini, wasn't it?" Illusion had asked, before tensing up visibly at the mention of his new suit. "No, it's fine... But give me a moment..."
Quick as a flash, he darted out of the room, and re-appeared a second later with the "purchase" placed on his back. If he lost it, he'd have been very unhappy.
"Anyway, I've also got this little list here... About what I should be doing to get the job. Guess who wrote it, and what language it's in..." The unicorn then said, pulling out the folded note.
Um, well, little known fact about me. I actually can speak Prench..I know I should have probably said something earlier but I trailed off in my own thoughts...but I can translate the lists for you two.
* her face immediately lit up with joy * Oh that is the most wonderful news! * she handed Sparkle her list *
"Well, that's convenient..." Said Illusion, as he handed over his own list to their new translator.
I sang a sweet melody, full of words as my music played. I was in worlds of my own, nothing to disturb my peace and tranquility.
* she studied the lists carefully * Well, Akira, this list is mostly common things that we both have to work on and then some...and, Illusion, your list requires you to change yourself completely... which could be a challenge..
Illusion's mood had taken an immediate 180 upon hearing what his list's suggestions were, changing from a smile to a frown in a matter of milliseconds.
"You mean impossible. I can adapt, sure, but I am not changing the pony I am inside. End of story.
Perhaps "180" was a bit too light of a term. The unicorn looked just a bit livid... For about ten seconds. And after those ten seconds was when his smile came right back.
"If that list that I pretty much destroy myself as a person as I think it does, then here's what I suggest... Get a blender, toss the list in there with eggs and whatever else, blend them together, then toss the mix into a pan, cook it up, put some salt on it, and after all that, you can serve it to Panini for dinner."
* she stared at him, looking as if he was a complete stranger, though she felt the same way about the lists * ...right, well... um, we can't do that exactly... um... just.. put the lists in the trash, Sparkle...um, maybe we could.. just ask for two different ones..?
"What?" Illusion had asked, noticing the stare within seconds. "Hey, I was being serious. I ain't changing who I am, inside! Nor would I let quality paper go to waste!"
He then just sighed. "Anyway... Are we sure that's what it says, though? As in, 100% certain?"
* she looked at the lists several times * I'm positive.. goodness, both of these lists require changing who we are... * she threw the lists away * Quality paper or not, I'm not changing who I am! * fed up with ponies trying to change who she was, resulting in bad experiences from the past, she walked out of the work room and marched straight to Panini's office *
Sparkle, no, come back here! We could get fired! * she ran after Sparkle *
* she saw everything from the camera and sighed * :facehoof: I knew it would eventually reach this point... time for another lecture, then.. * she cleared her throat and walked out of her office *
Another sigh, and Illusion began to follow the two, but briefly stopped at the trash can.
Whistling nonchalantly as he looked all around, he pulled the two lists right out and stuffed them both into his vest pockets.
For research purposes, of course.
Once that was out of the way, however, he rushed after the mares, catching up to Akira surprisingly quickly.
When I finished, I heard the swing of the mail slot. I went to the door, and flipped through the mail. Bill, Bill, Bill... but then my eyes laid upon a paper labeled "Music" I shrugged and opened it. I read through it, and apparently I was invited to some dinner party. For the love of Celestia.. I don't have anything good, and it's in 5 days! I'm not gonna be able to wash my dress in time. Hmm, when I was at the musical with that stallion, they Saud something about "Fashion Chic Industry" or something.
I went to my computer, searched the address, and headed there to get a new dress. I opened the door calmly and I heard a little ding of the door bell. "Hello?" I called out.
*she saw Panini and ran towards her, coming to a screeching halt at the last minute * Panini, I have something to talk to you about.. *she fixed her mane and looked Panini straight in the eyes * It's about your lists. We demand that you stop writing these lists and to stop trying to control pony's lives! If you do continue writing lists for ponies, then write them to help ponies, not change them! If anything, you need to have a list of your own! And I don't care if I get fired! I just want you to understand what your doing and how you are doing it!
* she stared at Sparkle for a minute, but then laughed as if what she said was a light hearted joke * You know, I thought that this was going to be the same old thing that I go through every day with other rookies.. but this is far more entertaining! * she chuckled * Its not that I don't take your words to heart, but its just too ridiculous to hear something like that come out of a rookies mouth! I have been in this business for 28 years. I am an expert at what I do. If anything.. you need your own list on how to learn and understand before talking. I write these lists to bring pony's full potential out because I see what they are truly made of... * she sighed * But, on another note, my Prench has been a recent issue... I will try to write in English, but I cannot guarantee that everything will be in full English. I will also try to... listen to other ponies and what they have to say. But my attitude will not change.. and I also expect more respect from all three of you. * she gave an unnerving glare at the three of them and left without another word *
I went in, and closed the door behind me. I walked to the center of what appeared to be the front of the shop. "Hello?" I said a little louder.
* she stood there for a minute * Hmm... * she walked over to the trashcan and looked in it * Wait, where did the lists go? I just put them in here...
"Well, that went better than expected..." Illusion had said to himself, grinning sheepishly as Panini left the vicinity.
However, he proceeded to go scrunchy-faced once Sparkle decided she needed to find the lists, and had only looked guiltier once he hesitantly pulled said lists out of his pockets.
"Well... About that..."
* she saw Illusion with the lists and asked curiously * Why did you have these?
// Which one of meh chars would be intresting in this..
"Research purposes." Illusion had said immediately, resuming his scrunchy-faced look.
* she stares at him for a minute before grabbing the lists and handing one to Akira *...Should we follow these rules? What do you think, Akira?
((I can join, correct? Or is it not an open RP.))
( Yes, this is an open RP, you can join )
Hmm... well.. I think we should... just for now...
I looked around, images of fantastic dresses on the walls. "Is anypony here?" I said a little louder.
"Well, considering neither of us even know what the rules even really say, that might be a bit difficult." Illusion had stated.
His ears then twitched at that moment. "I think you've got another customer, looking for service. Did the receptionist get fired or something, or are you girls supposed to deal with customers on top of the tailoring?"
I think both... * she walked up to the mare * Hello and welcome to F. L. C. Are you looking for something? * she asked with a smile *
I looked at the mare who came to my service. "Yes. I have a party to go to in a few days, I need a dress. I don't seem to have anything in my wardrobe that would fit the occasion." I said.
Hmm, well, we have a wide variety of dresses. What kind of party is it?
"It's a banquet" I said.
Illusion just stood there, looking his own list, which he had hastily snatched out of Sparkle's grip before she'd left, giving her an annoyed look. Afterward, he looked over said list, with no success.
It's almost as if someone had failed to actually write down what the lists actually stated, and just went with the fact that they had a vague something written on them.
He didn't know even one thing about what he should be doing. If all the advice he and the two mares could get was a very vague "be different", then what good was it?
In other words, these lists really should be in the trash if it was going to be that way. Vague advice was arguably worse than none at all.
[In other words, I'm not exactly liking how everyone's been dancing around trying to avoid writing down what the lists really say. It's going to cause problems, and it's already slowing things down from what I can see, as nobody seems to knows what to really do with them.]
( I have been thinking about what the lists should say in English. )
* Panini finished writing struggling with writing the two lists in English and handed them to Akira * Here, I re-wrote your lists and changed them up a bit in English to make it easier for you to read...and this time, It's not much... * she walked away to do business *
Akira's list: 1. Work on a new mane style. 2. Communicate a little more with your assistant. 3. Always remember your jewelry.
Illusion's list: 1. You must write an intelligent speech. 2. Work on a new mane style. 3. Always walk with your head held high if you want to be part of F.L.C.
"Taking that, thank you." Illusion had said upon seeing his name on one of the lists, horn a-glowin' as he snatched it away from Akira via the use of magic.
And it didn't take long for the complaints. "But I like my maaane...!" Was what he ended up whining.
That didn't stop him from making up a plan for the rest of it, though.
Or rather, changing the list entirely with a pencil. More for his own amusement than anything, really.
It was nice that Panini had at least tried, but suggestions were still just that. He could make a few edits, right...?
1. You must write Improvise for an intelligent speech. 2. Work on a new mane style. 3. Always walk with your head held high if you want to be part of F.L.C. AKA: Act like a snob.
No matter what anypony would say, he'd always maintain a firm belief that his mane would be fine in all it's short and scruffy glory. It had charm.
* Akira looked at her list and the only thing that she was concerned about was number 1 * My mane style is fine the way it is, thank you very much! * she has been keeping this same brown wavy mane style since she was a little filly! She frowned at the list * Hmm... I'm sure Panini won't mind if I change this up a bit... * she grabbed a pencil and began "Improvising" the list * Hmm...
1. Work on a new mane style. Maybe add a few more accessories to your mane. Maybe.. 2. Communicate a little more with your assistant. Talk more to your assistant by phone which is much easier. 3. Always remember your jewelry
* she looked at the improvised list * Much better!
Oooh, a banquet! Well, I'm sure we can find a dress that's just right for you! Hmm.. * she walked up to Akira * Akira, this mare here needs a dress for a banquet she is going to in a few days. With your expertise, I'm sure you will be able to find the perfect dress for her! * she turned to the mare* Akira will try and help you with finding the perfect dress! I will manage the accessories when you all find a dress! * Sparkle seemed to be enjoying this type of work very much, but something seemed to be bothering her * Well, I'm going to go look at the accessories. * she walked off towards the jewelry *
I nodded at the mare's words, and looked to the pony she directed me to. "Hello there! I hope you'll be able to find the right dress for me. I said.
* she smiled * Of course I can! Follow me. * she walked into a hallway of dresses * I know this seems like a basic question, but, what is your favorite color?
* Panini was going around handing new lists to everypony and said over a loud microphone* Excuse me, everypony! I have an announcement! The pre-fashion show will begin in one hour! Make sure your dresses are ready by then, or you will be disqualified! Thank you.
* Sparkle heard the announcement and already had jewelry and shimmering things in a bag * Oh, right, Akira's dress! * she put the bag down and ran into the work room and rolled the dress out on a platform * Ok, hmm... * she grabbed some jewelry and was matching them to the fall dress *
"My favorite color? Probably navy blue or orange" I answered.
Hmm.. navy blue or orange.. well, lets see... * she grabbed a orange dress with a rose head piece * What do you think about this dress?
I looked at the dress, it had a little rose headress. "Its gorgeous!" I exclaimed.
* Akira smiled * Perfect! * she looked at the dress for a price tag * Hmm.. this doesn't have a price tag on it.. one moment. * she walked up to a mare and handed her the dress, the mare nodded and walked away with the dress * Right. So, while we are waiting, would you like to look at some other dresses?
"That would be fun!" I said.
Right... Now that I've got a game plan, all I've gotta do is wait a few days... Sleeping on the street.
Illusion, for reasons currently known only to him, gave a grimace, before he quickly covered it up with his usual cheeky grin.
"Excuse me, Miss Akira...?" He asked as he suddenly appeared behind the pony in question. "...Could you come talk to me when you have a free moment? My apologies, I just have one last thing to ask, and you're the only pony I can think of for it."
* Akira smiled * Of course, Illusion. As soon as I'm done here. ^-^ * she turned to the mare * Ok, lets look at some more dresses, then! This way! * she walked down another hallway of dresses *
I nodded and followed the mare.

Spoiler: Sheer Luck show Thank you Johannes!

((I hope this is a good time to jump in. . . :33 ))
A bleach mane Mare was walking down the streets of HollyWood. She was recently ask to come down to HollyWood to help out the local hair stylist; which she happily agreed to. The mare looked a bit out of place; her mane was pulled back in a messy bun and she was wearing a dark grey sweater with a red plaid shirt poking out. Her smile was big as she looked at all the fancy buildings and fancier ponies. To get a better feel of the area, the mare decided to take a look at a local shop. The mare enter the first dress shop she saw, The F. L. C. She happily enter the shop, trying not to make too much noise, and started to examine the dress. The mare chuckled softly as she said to herself,
???: Woo, these dresses put me outfit ter shame. I be'ah up me game if I wanna fit in here.
She then continued to look at the dresses around her. The mare was very impressed by the shop owner's collection.
( Welcome, FakeSmile! :D )
* Akira grabbed a navy blue dress with a bow around the waist * What do you think about this dress?
* Panini was walking into other pony's work rooms and checking their dresses * Awful, very awful, my brain hates my eyes for seeing that dress.. * Panini sighed in frustration * Does anypony know how to make a good dress anymore?? * Panini continued to judge the dresses and finally reached Akira's Fall dress * Hm.. * she studied it carefully before scribbling something down on her clipboard and walking away *
After a few glances at the dresses, the mare decided to go check out a fashion show. She made a mental note to be back to the shop and started to make her way toward the show. The mare wasn't paying attention and ended up entering the building from the back. She realized her mistake when she saw everyone working on their models but decided to hang out anyway. The mare wondered around and was impressed by the dresses. She saw a mare with a clipboard writing down stuff and assumed the mare was in charge. Sheer Luck tried her best to look like she belonged so she wouldn't get kicked out.
* Sparkle gave a puzzled look as to what Panini was thinking about the dress, but before she could ask her, she was gone* Well.. hm.. * Sparkle stood there for a moment and continued to match jewelry here and there *
* Panini finished judging the last of the dresses before turning her attention to the wandering mare * Hm.. * she walked up to her * Hello, and welcome to F.L.C. * she looked the mare up and down * I can tell you are new here. Do you need help with something?
The mare was surprised by Panini approaching her but she tried to play it cool. As she fixed her collar she said,
Sheer Luck: Allo! Um, I am actually a mane stylist. Ter be honest, I kind of wonder in here by accident. Ha ha ha. . . But don let me outfit fool ya, I am the real deal. I came down here ter assist with the fashions shows. Not so sure if I am signed up ter werk at this 'un though. I am Sheer Luck by the way.
Her nerves melted away as she talk. She was confident in her talent and was sure she could help somehow.
* Panini blinked a few times before speaking * Well, hello, I am Panini.. a mane stylist you say? Hm.. well, if you can show me your talent, and if it is good, then you can assist with the fashion show. Otherwise, you can go back to whence ye came, ok?
Sheer Luck formed a big grin; she liked this pony's attitude. With a big smile she said,
Sheer Luck: Nice ter meet ya'! Just point me toward a mane and I'll do me magic.
Ok, then, hm... oh, there's one. * she pointed to a mare who was desperately trying to get her mane in order *
Sheer Luck walked over toward the mare with a smile. She took out a brush from her saddle bag and started to brush her mane.
Sheer Luck: Okay so, me talent is a bit different than others. Don' worry, it's a good different! So girly, I'll need ya' ter visualize how ya' want this mare's mane. Fink real good and hard on it! Tell me once ya' got an idea an' I'll do the rest.
The mare smiled patiently as she waited for Panini to do her part.
Hmm.. ok, then.. * Panini looked at the mare * I think her mane style should be classy with a little bit of flare to it. * Panini smiled when she saw the mare happily agree with her *
Sheer Luck took a deep breath and closed her eyes. With a small smile she said,
Sheer Luck: Okay that sounds good! The mare's mane is a good length ter werk with. I was thinkin' the mane should luke a bit like this.
The mare opened her eyes; they resembled the golden light of a lantern. Panini's and the mare's eye glowed a dim golden light as their mental image of the mane was alter to what Sheer Luck had in mind. The mare's mane would be pushed to one side of her head and would have big dramatic curls.
Sheer Luck: Do ya' fink this is good? If not, just fink of another mane style.
* Panini and the mare gasped * Oh my stars that mane style is marvelous! You will definitely be part of the fashion show! *The mare with the new mane style squealed in excitement and walked away to show off her mane *
Sheer Luck formed a big smile as she took Panini's hoof. As she shook her hoof she said,
Sheer Luck: Glad ter be part of the crew! iTm glad ter see me little magic show didn' scare ya'. Sum of me costumers. . . don' react well. . . Any who, d'ya want me ter walk around an' fix any mane that needs fixen?
The mare let go of Panini's hoof. She looked around to see who else was having a bad mane day.
( sorry for the late reply! )
I looked at the dress she held. "It looks nice."
* Panini had a whole row of mares with wild or messed up manes * Here are some more manes that you can fix. I have something to attend to. * While looking at her clipboard, Panini walked away *
Sheer Luck looked over at the row of mares; she was suprised by how many messy manes were at the fashion show. She took a deep breath and took an apron off the wall. As she tied the apron on she said,
Sheer Luck: Alright laddies, its time ter prepare y'all fer the fashion show. Tek the time ter fink of a mane style that will suit ya' dress the best. Don' worry, ya' manes are in good hoofs.
Her smile was filled with determination and she made her way to the first mare. She did her usual "image alter" magic and then started to cut their mane.
* As Akira was bringing out more dresses, the mare came back with the red dress and a price tag * Oh, finally. * Akira took the dress * Ok, the price is.. 200 bits.
Sheer Luck finished fixing five mare's manes before taking a break. The mare's manes were either short with flare to show of the accessories, or long and elegant to show class. The mare took a seat on one of the chairs her client sat in. She looked at herself in the mirror; she looked like a hot mess. Looking unprofessional wasn't abnormal for Sheer Luck, but she wanted to at least look decent. She pulled down her mane and started to pull it back up in a bun. It has been a while since she had a mane cut and her mane was at her knees. She made a mental note to re bleach and cut her mane later.
* Panini came back a while later to see how Sheer Luck was doing * Ooh, very nice job so far. * Panini said as she admired the five mare's mane styles * Very nice.
Sheer Luck: Thank ya'! Hopefully the fashion show is a success! If ya' don' mind me askin', when will the show start?
The mare said as she finished fixing her bun. She then stood up and went to work on another mare's mane.
Oh, the fashion show should start in about.. hm.. * she looked at a watch on her hoof * about... in half and hour. You have plenty of time. * Panini gave a reassuring smile and walked away *
Sheer Luck nodded and gave Panini a warm smile. The mare finished the current client's mane. She decided to slick her mane back and dye it a pastel yellow color. The mare and Sheer Luck agreed that it wouldn't work out. Sheer Luck fix the problem by forming many tight curls that would bounce when she walk. The client agreed on the new style and was overjoyed. Sheer Luck really like the slick look though and asked the remaining four mares if any of them would like it. One spoke up and Sheer Luck got to work.
* As soon as Panini walked away, her whole attitude changed, from a smiling friendly mare, to a yelling angry one and her voice could be heard from everywhere * LISTEN UP! YOU ALL ARE SLOWER THAN SNAILS ON SAND! GET EVERYTHING READY BY THE TIME I AM BACK IN HERE OR YOU ALL ARE FIRED! * silence filled the building, and nothing but the bustling and scurrying of scared mares and stallions substituted the loud chattering that they where doing before * Ah, much better. * Panini went on with her clipboard writing, as if nothing had happened *
The shouting caused Sheer Luck to cut off more than she wanted to. As she held the mare's mane in her hoof, tears started to form in her client's eyes. Sheer Luck gasped and she tried to calm the mare down. There wasn't much she could do for the mare; Sheer Luck cut way too much off. She let out a sigh and pulled out a razor. The client started shouting rude words toward Sheer Luck, but the mare's words didn't stop her from doing what was next. Sheer Luck shaved half the client's head and then curled the remaining mane. To Sheer Luck the mane looked gorgeous, but to the client it was her worse nightmare. She pushed Sheer Luck out of the way and started to stomp toward Panini to complain. Sheer Luck rolled her eyes and started to work on the next client.
* Sparkle jumped at the loud mare's words which caused her to drop and break some of the priceless jewelry * O: Oh no! * Sparkle started freaking out * What do I do, what do I do??
* Panini already resolved the issue with the mare's mane by giving her a gorgeous wig, then, when she heard the shatter of jewelry and saw Sparkle freaking out, she facehoofed and walked over to her* What did you do, sparkle??
(wow, gosh sorry again for the late reply!)
"200 bits? hmm" I said, starting to look into my hoodie pocket and grabbed my wallet. I dug through and found the 200 I needed. "This should cover it!"
* She jumped when she saw Panini * Oh, I-um-well, you see... uh.. * she thought of something to say, but no words came out, so she just stood there, waiting for the worst *
* Panini picked up the broken pieces of jewelry and looked at them closely * Hmm... you are very lucky that this is not one of the very expensive jewelry... clean this mess up and don't drop anything else. * she walked away *
* Sparkle thanked Celestia to herself before cleaning the jewelry and walking over to Akira * Akira, I'm done with the jewelry and-oooh! * she stared at the dress that Akira picked out * Such a nice dress! Oh, and here is your jewelry. * she handed a gift bag to the mare * It's free of charge for ponies who first visit F.L.C ^-^
"Really? Thank you. I'll be sure to come back soon for my next outift!" I said, grabbing the bag with my wing, I smiled and winked, then turned to the door. "Goodbye!" I said, smiling.
Bye! * Akira smiled, then turned to Illusion * Oh, what did you want to talk about?
Illusion had his head lowered and was apparently, but immediately awoke once Akira went back to him. "Ah, yes... So, um... I'm assuming I'll be going to some kind of interview in a few days from now, and... Well, since I don't have a place to rest my head..."
He looked away for a moment. "You've already done a lot for me, and I hate to impose, but... Well, I have to ask. Is it possible if I can... stay with you for a little while? I have literally nowhere to go, save for a cardboard box that is probably gone by now..."
* Before Akira even got a chance to answer, Panini intervened * Akira, enough of this chit chat! Where is your dress?? The show starts in 10 minutes! * Panini grabbed Akira's hoof and dragged her along as she walked * Like I say ALL the time, time is money and YOU are wasting it!
Of cou- * Akira's words where cut off when Panini interrupted * Wait, Panini! * she tried to protest, but to no avail. She gave a small yelp when Panini dragged her away * But Panini, please just listen!
Sheer Luck and her client watch as Panini dragged a mare away. They both exchanged stares before Sheer Luck went back to work. A small smile formed across her face; she defiantly going to like it here.
* Sparkle already had the dress ready and stood in front of Panini * Panini, wait. Here is the fall dress you wanted. * she handed it to her *
I closed the door behind of me, and began to walk down the streets to my home.
* Akira got out of Panini's grip and walked back to Illusion * Anyway... yes, of course you can! * she smiled *
Illusion had actually been walking a little ways behind the pair when Akira had been dragged off, looking just a bit hopeful.
"You... You mean it...? You really mean it?" He had asked, and upon seeing the mare's smile, his ears perked up. "I... I don't know what to say... T-thank you!"
He then leaned to the side, getting a look of what was probably a pretty angry Panini.
"Um... You should probably get going, though. Don't let me hold you up any further." The stallion gave Akira a warm smile.
* Panini had calmed down a bit and looked at the dress * Hm... its good. Go and enter your dress into the fashion show. Hurry! * she turned and walked away *
Sheer Luck approach Panini with a satisfied smile. Happily she said,
Sheer Luck: Alright, I finished the last mane. I'm goin' ter go ask around if they need any help. Unless ya' already have someone in mind.
Oh, that's marvelous! Hmm... * she pointed to Sparkle and Akira * Can you fix those two's manes? They have to look ready for the fashion show.
Sheer Luck smile as she nodded. The mare caught up to Akira and Sparkle. Before she said anything, she tried to make her self persentable by fixing her collar. With a smile she said,
Sheer Luckk: Hello, I'm Sheer Luck. Panini told me ter come over here ter help ya' out with your manes.
The mare smiled warmly at the two, hopefully they are easy clients.
* Akira stared at Sheer Luck * Our manes? * Akira looked at her brown mane * My mane is just fine, thank you very much. * Akira didn't want her mane changed * Why not do Sparkle's? Mine is fine.
Wh-my mane? * Sparkle looked at her blue mane * I don't want my mane changed... why not ask somepony else if they want their mane's changed, hm?
Sheer Luck looked at the mares with a confused expression.
Sheer Luck: Um. . . Yeah, I came over ter style your manes. Orders from Panini. You two are acting like I am about ter shave your heads.Well whatever, if you fink your manes are fine then I won't waste me time.
The mare shrugged and turned away. She wasn't going to stand there and beg to style their manes; she had better things to do. She'll leave the head ache to Panini.
* Panini came back with a big smile on her face, but her smile quickly vanished when she saw Akira and Sparkle's manes where still the same * :facehoof: * she walked over to them * Why are your manes still the same??
Well, Panini, we think our mane styles are just fine...
Just fine?? JUST FINE?! Your mane styles are SO last season! This is a high-priority fashion show, and I expect you BOTH to look like your flawless talents! You HAVE to look the part! Now get your mane styles fixed, or your BOTH fired! * she sighed, growing tired of yelling, and walked away *
* before Sparkle could argue, Panini was gone. She sighed * well..
Sheer Luck found a lounge area with yummy snacks. A small smile formed on er face as she decided she deserved a break. Picking up a small sandwich, the mare took a bite as she thought about the two mares that rejected her help. She wondered if she went to the right ponies, they didn't really look like models to her. Sheer Luck shook the thought out of her mind; she didn't want to think about work while on a break.
...well... I guess we could touch up our manes... * she walked over to the lounge area and sat down *
* Panini came back, yelling at a stallion * GREAT! JUST GREAT! YOU POSTPONED MY FASHION SHOW, SO I WILL POSTPONE YOUR FACE! * it was very unruly to see Panini fighting with a stallion.... which she was winning, but she was so enraged at something, that she seemed to have gotten unnatural strength * >:O
* Sparkle jumped when she heard Panini's yelling. She grimaced when she heard fighting and gasped when she heard that the fashion show was postponed * Postponed?!?! It-It cant be!! This is my one chance to show that I'm good at something! Oh no! * she looked like she was about to cry *
"I guess this is a bad time to ask..." Illusion had said to himself, having gone up ahead, peeking around a corner to see Panini basically curb-stomping a stallion bigger than he was.
However, that wasn't about to stop him from doing something else. Getting himself some popcorn and watching the show that wasn't about fashion, oblivious to Sparkle's presence.
* Akira just blinked, watching Panini fight. To her surprise, she was winning * ....wait, what did she say about it being postponed?!? O: Noo! It cant be postponed! * she then knew that that was what Panini was fighting about, so she started cheering for Panini *
* Panini was breathing heavily and patted her now wild mane back down. The current state of the stallion was... an atrocious sight. Panini caught her breath and calmed down, but she was still angry * ...So sorry you had to see that, everypony...um.. go back to work! * she said to the staring ponies. Panini sat down in a chair and closed her eyes, rubbing her forehead * Ugh, my head hurts...
Sheer Luck was too focus on eating the free food to notice Panini beating up someone. After one last mini sandwich, she decided it would be best to get back to work. The mare didn't notice Akira in the lounge are, and walked right past her. As she left the are, Sheer Luck was approach by two mares who looked like they needed some mane help. With a smile, Sheer Luck agreed and led the two to her work station.
As I trotted home, I thought about the Shop I just walked out of, it looked nice. I wondered if they were hiring... I shook it off and walked into the complex, up the stairs, an into my apartment.
* Sparkle walked over to Panini * Um, Panini, what happened, specifically? Was the fashion show really postponed??
Yes. Yes it is. * Panini said simply, still rubbing her forehead *
"Well, at least now you don't need to worry about your mane for a while. Probably." Illusion had said, standing not too far behind Akira, before putting on a confused look.
"But... Why did you need to fix them up, anyway? It shouldn't really matter unless you're up on the stage yourself. You only make the dresses, right? Surely, there's other ponies better suited for the job of wearing them. Or am I just getting confused? Er, not that you're bad looking, mind." He was quick to add.
As he awkwardly cleared his throat, looking away, the unicorn suddenly let out a silent gasp.
And then there was a big grin on his face, as if he suddenly figured something out.
Sheer Luck still was out of the loop as she fixed the pony's mane. The client wasn't really sure if she should stop Sheer Luck or not. Once Sheer Luck was done, she grinned big at her work. The client thanked Sheer Luck and then informed her of the news. A large frown formed across her face; all this work for nothing. Sheer Luck started to clean up the station and her tools. As she was cleaning, she started to think where to go next
Well... can you try and.. and un-postpone it or something?! This is a HUGE deal, here!
* Panini sighed * I will try the best I can... just... go finish up here and leave.. I will notify you if anything comes up.. consider this an.. unplanned vacation.. * and with that, Panini got up and left *
Sheer Luck spotted Panini leaving and decided her volunteer work was done for the day. After she swept up the bits of mane, she caught up with Panini. With a smile she said,
Sheer Luck: Sorry ter hear 'bout the show. Tis a shame for all me work ter go ter waste. . . Still, one this show kicks up again, I would love ter help out again. Maybe we can discuss the details over lunch?
* Panini smiled * Of course!
The mare smiled big; she was glad that Panini agreed. Once the two made it toward the door, she held the door for Panini as she said,
Sheer Luck: Lead the way! I got here a few hours ago so I have no idea where ter eat.
Well, I know just the place. Follow me. * Panini walked down the street *
Sheer Luck walked next to Panini. She examined the buildings the duo passed with a big smile. Happily she said,
Sheer Luck: Dis place is bigger than Oi thought. Oi bet de show business is killer though. 'As your work always been in de fashion industry?
Well, before I decided to become the owner of F. L. C, I once tried to open an arts and crafts store... but it didn't go so well, so I had to close it.
Sheer Luck:Oi been down dat road before. Me first time on me own wus. . . Tough. . . Oi 'ad ter relocate me shop. Oi can't complain,Oi gettin' gran' business now. An' oi can tell yer run dat shop gran'. 'Oy yer direct back dare, oi couldn't imagine yer 'avin' any other job!
The mare said with a smile. When she looked forward, she notice an interesting restaurant. A small smile formed as she wondered if this is the place Panini was taking her.
Ah, here we are. * Panini said as she stopped in front of the restaurant. She opened the door and walked in. *
Sheer Luck smiled as she entered the restaurant. Multiple smells of all kinds of food welcomed the mares as the stood in the front of the building. Sheer Luck examined the building with a happy gasp: all the well dress ponies, delicious food, and fancy furniture took her by surprised. The mare had mix emotions; she was excited to be here but wonder if it was all within her budget. As she looked for the duo a table she said,
Sheer Luck: Yer al' know 'oy ter dine. Dis city is somethin' else. . . .
'Ey tink oi foun' us a table!
The mare lead the duo toward a table near a window. With a smile, the mare took a sit and started to read the menu.
* Panini took a seat and looked at the menu. She has been here many times before, so she knew exactly what to order. She put the menu down and waited for one of the waiters to attend to them *
* Akira was done with her work * Well, let's go, Sparkle.. * she walked towards the door *
* sigh * Alright, Akira.. * Sparkle followed her and opened the door and walked out * So... what do we do in the mean time..?
Sheer Luck wasn't sure what she wanted; all the food sounded delicious. Behind the menu the mare said,
Sheer Luck: If yer don't mind me askin', why did de show git postpone?
Well, because of two late entries, Akira and Sparkle. They where supposed to enter their dress in the show, but where very stubborn. I couldn't delay the show any longer, so it got postponed... I should fire the two for ruining the show, shouldn't I?
Sheer Luck sat in silence; that was a tough question. A question she once asked directed toward her performance. . . . As she set down the menu she said,
Sheer Luck: . . . .
Dat is gollier of a screw up on dare part. Oi wouldn't blame yer if yer were livid. T'is unprofessional av dem. . . . Firin' dem? Nah, Oi couldn't. Still, dare should be punishment. Oi recommend dem not doin' dis fashion show. Let dem 'elp where 'elp is needed, but they got ter learn de business.
Their server came by and set down two cups of water. With a smile, the mare gave the server her order. The server took both their orders and hurried back toward the kitchen. Sheer Luck took a sip of her water as she thought about the two mares from earlier.
Hmm... yes, your quite right... * Panini took a sip of her water * ...truly, I'm surprised they acted like that. They've only been part of F.L.C for some hours. I would expect them to be more cooperative, considering they don't really have any experience to do anything as they please.
Sheer Luck: Oi thought they look a bit. . . fresh. They 'av a long road ahead of dem if they plan ter make dis business a career. . . oi mean, ye get a look of their manes?! Don't git me wrong, they're cute. . . But even Oi know cute won't win fashion shows.
She said between sips. As she finished speaking, the server brought the two their meals. Sheer Luck decided to have a light lunch and order a vegetable soup. She smiled as she levitated a spoon and scooped up some. Even though it was just vegetable soup, the mare thought the soup was the best she ever had.
Exactly! That's why I wanted to get their manes done in the first place! But no, they said their manes where 'just fine'. *Panini scoffed* I mean, really.. * Panini levitated a fork and scooped some of the apple pie she ordered. *
Sheer Luck: : Don't worry, not doin' de fashion show 'ill teach dem a lesson. Not only 'ill they learn ter listen ter authority, but they'll see what it takes ter be a real model.. . . . so whaen 'ill de show start up again?
The mare said as she took another spoonful of soup.
*Panini sighed * I'm not really sure. After the fight with the stallion who postponed the show, I don't think he would be willing to talk to me about it... * Panini sighed again, and picked up a whole slice of the pie *
The mare chocked on her water as she heard about Panini's fight. A humerus smile formed across her face as she imaged the mare fighting anyone. Through snickers she exclaimed,
Sheer Luck: Yer fought de manger?! Ah boy, dat is hilarious! Oi bet yer gave 'im a run for 'is nickers! AH HA HA HA!
The mare let out a hardy laugh that echo through the restaurant. Remembering she was surrounded by fancy ponies, she quickly covered her mouth. A bit embarssed, she took another big bite of her soup. With a weak chuckle she continued,
Sheer Luck: Back ter bein' a professional mare, I'm sure he'll call yer back. 'oy yer 'andled those ponies back dare is a gift! Just sweet blather 'im; an' yer two can forgive an' forget.
* Panini chuckled * Yes, your right. But for now, I want to try and relax. * She sighed heavily * Fashion is very stressful... * she took a big bite out of her pie *
"H-hey wait!" Illusion suddenly called out, racing to Akira's side. "S-so we're still on for... Me staying with you guys for a while? Nothing's changed?"
Nope, nothing has changed. Lets get something to eat, guys. * Akira said as she walked towards the restaurant *
Yeah, ok. I'm starving. * Sparkle followed her *
Sheer Luck: Yer be right, lets forget about de fashion show an' try ter enjoy dis meal!
The mare said as she finished off her soup. With a satisfied sigh she continued,
Sheer Luck: Oi 'ope dis isn't too personal, but yer live 'round 'ere?
Yes, I live not too far from here. My house is a block away from F. L. C. * she finished the last of her pie *
* Akira finally made it to the restaurant and opened the door * Ah, here we are.
* Sparkle walked in and immediately saw Panini and Sheer luck. She walked over to them * Um, hello, Ms. Panini. Me and Akira just wanted to apologize for... well, what happened to the show.. * she smiled slightly *
Sheer Luck took a long sip of her water. She gave Panini the, " you got to tell them" look as she finished off the water. Sheer Luck gave the mare a warm smile. She could help but feel bad for the two of them; they are new so this punishment will do more good than harm.
* Panini sighed * Well, Sparkle, I guess your apology is accepted...but.. * she sipped her water * ..well, the reason why the show was postponed was because of you two.. if you both hadn't have been wasting time about your manes, you both would have entered into the show... I was actually thinking about firing you two. But instead, I have decided that if the show starts back up, you two won't enter it. You can help wherever help is needed, but you will just have to sit and watch the show.. * she finished her water and got up * Do you both understand? * she looked at Akira and Sparkle. She hoped that she didn't hurt their feelings too much and that they understood *
* Akira sighed * Yes, we understand... and we are very sorry about ruining the show.. * she smiled and walked over to a seat *
"...Maybe if you communicated with your employees a little better, this wouldn't have happened." Was all Illusion had said, before turning away and following Akira.
From what he knew, Panini hadn't mentioned the show until basically the last minute. The translation issue hadn't helped either, nor did it help when she failed to mention that her suggestions were apparently mandatory.
If somepony has a bad boss, it won't take much for them to betray said boss. Ponies in this business, or just in general, have the potential to get very bitter, very quickly.
* Sparkle silently followed the two and sat down * Well...hm... * Sparkle felt very upset that she couldn't participate in the show, but just sighed *
Well, maybe if everypony in the industry would tell me when things start, I wouldn't have to tell ponies things at the last minute... * Panini had said before Illusion had walked away. Panini sighed and left a few bits on the table then walked towards the door * Lets go, Sheer Luck.
Sheer Luck was sitting back and taking in the situation. A frown formed when the stallion showed up. She gave the stallion, "Who are?" look as she started to stand up. As she placed a tip added,
Sheer Luck: 'Av a nice day . . . Jist give me a call if yer need your manes done.
She gave them a force smile and made her way toward Panini. Before she exit through the door, she gave the group a quick wave and a small smile.
Well, I'm going to see what I can do about the show... * Panini said as she walked back to F. L. C* Like I always say, time is money and I can't make money just standing around without a successful show..
Sheer Luck: Dat be true, dat it be. . . If Oi might add me two cents, Oi tink yer should 'av a meetin' with al' de new comers. 'Ow de stallion was actin', Oi don't tink they know 'ow dis business works . . .
The mare said as she followed Panini. She was surprised by how these models were behaving, even if they were new. . .
Illusion had given the new mare an apologetic look with a smile as he half-heartedly waved back. Once she and Panini were out of sight, however, his expression changed pretty quickly.
"Well, great. A new minion for the boss, it seems." He then proceeded to pass on to Akira and Sparkle. "I don't think she knows the whole story, though..."
* Sparkle nodded* Yeah. So, what shall I we order? * She asked herself as she picked up a menu.*
Tsk, tsk, tsk. She's far from knowing the whole story... * Akira had said before picking up a menu * Hm..
"They have tofu, right? I love that stuff..." Illusion had said, but soon shook his head and looked for himself on one of the menus. "Ah. Fried tofu. Perfect."
However, he couldn't help but feel slightly uncomfortable. "So, um... Just so we're clear, you both know I'm completely broke, right...? I can't pitch in for this."
