Title: When the gods arrived... (Sign up)
Post by: thexcrimsonxghostie on 2015 May 02, 22:35:06
Everyone gets 100 pts to alot between eight stats. and give a backstory with a short bio and your character's alignment.

STRENGTH -
overall strength and adds to combat damage after dice roll. Allows player to perform physically daunting tasks.
INTELLIGENCE -
Learning aptitude, ability to read, conversation and ingenuity. facilitates the use of black magic
WISDOM-
overall spiritual knowledge, adds to mana, and sixth sense. facilitates the use of psychic abilities
DEXTERITY-
Accuracy and attention to detail. allows users extra rolls of 1d6 in combat and facilitates lock-picking
ENDURANCE-
Resistance to damage and Agony from critical strikes as well as hunger, cold, fatigue and heat.
CONSTITUTION-
Resistance to poison, sickness, and
AGILITY-
overall speed and ability to move quickly and silently. Facilitates theft, stealth, and acrobatics
STABILITY-
overall sanity. after reaching zero the player loses control of the character. loss of sanity will be calculated by d6               (STA -10=d6x1, STA 20+ = d6x.75, STA 30+ = d6x .5, STA 40+ = d6x .25)

You can choose alignments from benevolent (lawful/neutral/chaotic), Neutral (lawful, true, chaotic), and evil (lawful/neutral/chaotic)

You must choose two feats and two low level special abilities (black magic or psychic)

It is your responsibility to keep up with your Character sheet and stats.

Since this is a Lovecraftian roleplay, there probably won't be too much emphasis on combat. But, I've decided well will use the dice roller by using d6 to decide hit, miss, or crit and d20 for damage.

I prefer we use this dice roller: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm

If d6 falls upon 1, 3, or 5 it's a hit and d20 damage is calculated according to strength (0-10=dam x1, 20+=dam x2 and so on). 6 means critical damage and damage is doubled. d6 gains additional rolls with each increment of 10 Dex and if at any time hit or crit occurs, even once, damage will be calculated. With magic or psychic abilities, you multiplier will come from your intelligence (black magic) or your wisdom (psychic) in the same increments of 10 stat points.

I have a few questions/statements before I sign-up:

1) This thread needs to be in the sign-up sub-forum  X3

2) If we use our OCs,  how many  tricks/feats/spells can we have, and to what extent? (i.e. how powerful)

3) The OC I want to use has a split personality; should I assign mental statistics separately?

4) Are we using the D&D 3.5 alignment system?

Split personalities will be need to be done as separate characters to prevent confusion. So you'll need to make a character sheet for them. sorry ono

Also I edited the other details above.

Spoiler: Blazing Legend Character Sheet • show
Strength: 14
Ability Scores:
Intelligence: 14
Wisdom: 16
Dexterity: 8
Endurance: 12
Constitution: 12
Agility: 8
Sanity: 16

Feats:
Gatherer (Ex): Blazing Legend is adept in finding, harvesting, and processing plants to make simple items, food, and medicine.
Mental Map (Ex): Blazing Legend remembers every geographical feature with supernatural accuracy. These memories are stiched together in Blaze's mind, giving him a perfect map of everywhere he's been

Special Abilities:
Child of the Earth (Psy): Blazing Legend perceives the landscape in three dimensions as long as he is in contact with the ground. This sense is similar to vision, but is more precise and does not require eyes to function.
Seeker of Sight (Psy): Through meditation, Blazing Legend can increase the range of his earth sense and move his focal point (Similar to astral projection). Given enough time, Blaze can see plants and creatures touching the ground as well.

Other:
Species: Earth Pony
Alignment: True Neutral
Backstory: Blazing legend was always and outsider to civilization. Preferring rolling hills and open skies to roaring streets and light filled nights. With the aid of his earth sense he traveled all of Equestria, learning many of it's secrets. Of all the ponies alive at the time, Blaze was among the least surprised by the return of the Elder Gods. For he had seen their blasphemous names written on the ancient walls of civilizations long forgotten. Now forced through circumstance to aid his fellow pony, Blazing serves as the groups guide through their sunless world armed with the most powerful weapon, knowledge.

(Note: I'm assuming that telekinesis and light are standard spells for all unicorns. If this does not end up being the case, then I will be changing the spell lists accordingly. Let me know if I need to change some ability.

Also, my character starts off with limited spells and feats for the purpose of the rp, but she 'technically' should know more. Just wanted to put this out there.)

Spoiler: Book Keeper (dominant personality) • show

Ability Scores
Strength: 5
Intelligence: 15
Wisdom: 20
Dexterity: 10
Endurance: 5
Constitution: 10
Agility: 15
Sanity: 20

Feats
Eidetic Memory (Ex): Book Keeper has the ability to recall images, sounds, or objects in memory after only a few instants of exposure, with high precision, without using mnemonics.
Fencing, Improved (Ex): Book Keeper is well-versed in the art of fencing, though it's more of a hobby for her than anything else.

Special Abilities
Portable Pocket (Bl): Book Keeper can store objects in a pocket dimension that follows her around, up to a combined weight of 500lb.
Steel Strands (Bl): Book Keeper can create several silvery strands made out of steel, up to a length of 150ft, that move according to her thoughts. If a stramd manages to latch on to a target, a spell can be sent through the rope to the target.

Other
Species: Unicorn
Alignment: Neutral Good
Backstory: Book Keeper is a cheerful, down-to-earth, twenty-five year old unicorn who enjoys reading, and sometimes being exaggerated and melodramatic. Formerly the heiress of an extremely wealth family in Manehattan, she now runs a business as a knowledge broker in Baltimare.

She has a second personality as well, a much darker one. Neither of the two are the 'original Book Keeper'; they are more two halves of a psyche that formerly was one. Her father was responsible for the split when she was sixteen; after years of abuse and high mental stress of being an heiress, the destruction of her hidden library of books by him was too much for her to bear, and her psyche split in two: a cheerful one that reflected more the heroes and heroines of the books she had read, and an amoral version of the heiress she had been expected to become. He disowned her immediately and kicked her out onto the streets, where she spent several weeks before somepony helped her out of her situation.

Book Keeper is the dominant personality, though under certain circumstances, Dark!Book Keeper will emerge instead, most commonly during the hours in which she runs her business. Both can recall what happened during the time that the other was in the foreground, but it seems akin to a dream. Control can be handed over at any time to the other personality, but Book Keeper will never do so, unless there is a clear danger to her life which will not be resolved without switching to Dark!Book Keeper. The two personalities have agreed to not interfere with the other, so long as their activities are not actively hindered. Their talents are not same either; Book Keeper is quite good at socializing, and is well-versed in fencing, while Dark!Book Keeper excels at magic despite her low reserves, and is extremely competent at analysis and business management.

Due to her work as a knowledge broker, Book Keeper has acquired an immense amount of information, from mundane stock prices, to obscure magical theories and spells. Thus, she has some knowledge of the Great Old Ones, though it is far from complete.

Spoiler: Dark!Book Keeper (secondary personality) • show

Ability Scores
Strength: 5
Intelligence: 20
Wisdom: 15
Dexterity: 10
Endurance: 7
Constitution: 5
Agility: 8
Sanity: 30

Feats
Eidetic Memory, Greater (Ex): Book Keeper has the ability to near-instantly recall images, sounds, or objects in memory after only a few instants of exposure, with high precision, without using mnemonics.
Impossible Willpower (Ex): Book Keeper has a single-minded devotion to a single goal, which she will stop at nothing to achieve. This lends her the ability to overcome any challenge regarding willpower; for example, she has grappled wills with the mightiest of demons and won.

Special Abilities
Partial-grab Telekinesis (Bl): Book Keeper can can focus her telekinesis on parts of objects, rather than only the whole object.
Ritual Summoning (Bl): Book Keeper can summon a host of otherworldly creatures. Ritual requirements vary, but the more powerful rituals require a sacrifice of some kind, be it an object or something else.

Other
Species: Unicorn
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Backstory: This is the other half of the unicorn known as Book Keeper. A result of years of abuse and high mental stress, Book Keeper has only one goal in her mind: revenge on her father. She has no morals whatsoever; everything she does in calculated with this goal in mind. Her methods at times seem to be of a good or neutral nature, and are always legal, but this is because she will likely face less problems and obstacles than if she were to use other methods. To those whom she reveals her true nature, she appears cold, calculating, and ruthless.

Due to gathering information of certain...rituals, Book Keeper can and has performed summoning rituals to acquire the services of creatures of great might and power. Well aware of the dangers this can pose, she always takes great care in her summoning circles, as well as ensuring that she retains her sanity after such summonings.

The feats are purely of your own creation. I'm giving everyone the opportunity to make their characters a little more unique.
