So I was thinking, RP gets really slow at times, what can we do to help fix that, or at least make the wait more tolerable? Plus, what about when somepony has an issue and they can't RP, maybe due to Internet trouble, or a broken computer? I know it seems silly, but we should figure something out so RPs don't die because somepony couldn't get on.
Unfortunately, this is the way Play-by-Posts play out. :c
I know, but we need to think of some sort of game or something to keep ourselves entertained.
Making or participating in some kind of forum game might help slightly in alleviating this, though making a game run in the RP itself would make going back to view what happened pretty
Read the forum rules. annoying when it slows for a while and any forum game in the same RP keeps going at the same pace.
Hmmm... True. I try to keep RP going, but eventually it just becomes filler.
Perhaps
Often it becomes filler because lots of people seem extremely hestitant of timeskips or making much significant happen on their own, and I don't mean the base getting attacked repeatedly, at that point we might as well just have a relaxing vacation in tartarus, we'd probably not be attacked as often there. ovO
My stage setting has placed the base back into a more slice of life setting with combat being significantly less frequent, so hopefully their will be more opportunities for multi-pony interactions. I am online most hours of the day, so if you need to get your RP fix for the day you can always message me.
Thanks annos! X3 I invited a couple friends to the site by the way, they haven't RP'd before, and they are from the Netherlands so they may be on at odd hours once they get fully up to speed.
Depends what you define as odd hours really, there are people here RPing from europe, like me. It will be nice to have a few more RPers around though.
We may have to help them out a little, but hopefully they get the gist of things. As for the hours, I'm not sure...
I live in Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5hr) so I'm most active between 4 and 12 PM EST.
I'm the same as annos, I live in Connecticut, same time zone
I live in Israel, which is 7 hours ahead of EST (GMT + 2). For me, being active depends on what I'm doing, so it can be whenever X3
PONIES AROUND THE WORLD!!! I made up a name for the Netherlands. It's the neightherlands.
lol sounds good! :3
Norway, GMT +1.... and I can't really think of any equestrian name for it, I do have one for Scandinavia though, Scandineighvia.
Caneighdah (man do I hate the way that sounds)
There's no definite solution to getting your RP fix when RP is slow.
You could always try writing a fic. It'll keep you writing and help you improve on making details, making larger posts and give you something to do that you have full control of.
You could also try finding people who are online when the people you want to RP with are not online, though this may lead to RP overload if you let it get out of control.
i just saw this.
i am one of the friends from the netherlands and i dont really know how to Rp here ´cos i am quite shy for this kind of things
If you do something wrong you'll find out quickly, but other than that just Private Message someone if you're confused or have a question/request. If you don't know how to roleplay then I suggest not putting a lot of detail into your character and instead let them grow naturally. The best RP's for a starter are jump-in's as they have no requirements and generally have more active members. I suggest the new musical one if you want a less silly RP, the Royal Guard if you want slice of life meets thrilling action, and crazy adventures if you have no idea or have a great idea for a plot hook.
The royal guard one is a bit jumpy in it's pacing though, sometimes it bottlenecks all actions through one or two RPers that really aren't very active or post often, can get a little annoying really.
But that is always an issue.
Are you kidding me? You should do other stuff, you should check the RP, yes, but do other things.
Also, for RPs that are dying, or is dead. Simply fix, rewind, or edit. Nuff said.
