Azenaire was a land unknown to Equestria, it had been completely forgotten... Mostly.
Azenaire had its own royal family, government, law, and lands to explore. A land Crimson was eager to explore. She was at Shadowwing Inn at Silverspire Village at the boarder of Tala'mere jungle and Shatterhoof Crag. She looked around the inn knowing she would need aid on this quest, she eyed her choices of whom to ask, hoping that somepony else may ask first. Crimson was a Sun Walker, a paladin of Celestia's sun. Of course most ponies didn't even know of Celestia, Luna or Equestria, unlike her.
It was late at night and ponies were coming inside in larger numbers, some buying rooms, others siting at a table and talking with friends. But everypony was coming in, not going out.
Crimson smiled as a drunk wandered past, clearly having taken more than his fair share. She decided to drink her ale down quickly, otherwise somepony else might.
She saw another pony enter... The last one to do so. She motioned to them. "'Ey wanna drink? it's on me." she called with a warming smile.
Crimson's smile stayed on her face, masking her concern for those that would agree to travel, the lands of Azenaire were dangerous, not because of conflict, in fact the land a peaceful one, but its terrain was hazardous, and its predators deadly. When morning came Crimson and those that decided to join her would have a hard journey ahead. But for now, it was a night for quiet fun.
Suddenly the doors of the Inn opened and a small blue unicorn mare walked in. Her gear was somewhat exotic and uncommon, suggesting her being a hybrid class of a rouge and a caster of some sort. She wasn't knew to these parts, for the past few days she showed up in the in and hoped to be hired for some sort of adventure. She walked to the bar and sat next to its tender, speaking with him and asking if any expedition was announced. After hearing a negative answer she sighed and ordered a mug of apple juice.
Rapid Pulse sat in the corner of the bar, drinking some apple juice.
The small mare took her mug and looked around, noticing Rapid, for some reason he was interesting to her. She walked to him and ask. "Mind if i join you?" She asked.
"Not at all." Rapid responded to the blue mare.
"May I ask what you are doing at a place like this?" He continued.
Blue sat down across from Rapid. "Just looking for an adventure." She sipped from her mug and rested her head on her hoof pressed on the table. "Kinda bored and stuff, you know."
"Yeah, I sure can agree with you on that." He says with a smile.
"So, I haven't asked sooner, but what's your name miss?" He asked and wiped some juice away from his lips using his hoof.
"Oh, where are my manners." She giggled. "I am Blue Scale, good sir, what is your name?"
"I'm Rapid Pulse, nice to meet you Blue Scale" He smiled and offerd a hoofshake.
((Iseewhatyoudidthere, are you gonna make that her new name for all upcoming rps?))
Crimson overheard their conversation.
"You after adventure? I can give ya plenty. Names Crimson Eclipse"
"Well, my talent is adventuring, want to sit down with us, Crimson? If I can call you that?" Rapid replied and made space for the third pony.
"Sure, call me that." Crimson replied, joining the other two, her white and golden armour, typical of a paladin like her, clanked as she walked. "My sister's gone missin' I'm after a group of heroes that would be willin' to risk their lives to find her. Oh and theirs loot in it."
The room had quietened quickly, the crackling fire and the voice of the three ponies being the most prominent sounds. Most ponies had gone up to sleep now, or fallen asleep in their seats. It was also very dark, the fire being the only light source. The barkeep ignored the ponies who remained awake, serving times were over and he just quietly washed the dishes, leaving the others to it.
"So, you interested?" Crimson asked, with a glint in her eye.
The tiny blue mare smiled confidently. "Very." she nodded to the proposal of adventure, and it was even for a good cause.
"Great, what about you?" Crimson asked motioning to Rapid.
"Sounds exciting, count me in!" Rapid said and yawned.
"But not at this time I hope."
"Oh no, I need sleep, we head out at dawn." Crimson replied, trying to hide a yawn.
A twenty-one year old stallion walked into the Inn, observing the scenery. He had royal blue fur and baby blue eyes. His hair was short and darkish brown. To add to that, he had a short spiky tail. He had a cutie mark of three silver cogs. "Zeeblezooble, everypony!" The stallion exclaimed.
Blue raised an eyebrow at the new stallion, then she turned her attention to Crimson. "Yeah, sleeping would be nice." She stretched and yawned.
Crimson turned to the new pony. "What?"
(Please note, Doomato that your normal multiverse... thing you do in RP's can't be done here, sorry but it's one realm only)
((Don't worry, I threw the Transportal out of the window and it disappeared. lol))
The tiny blue mare eyed the new pony and smiled a bit. "Well, zeembewhatever to you too, big guy. Whats your name?" She giggled and eyed him some more, almost teasing him.
Doomato looked at Blue, "My name's Doomato Nolastname. And your name is?"
"Blue Scale, nice to meet you, mister Nolastname." she chuckled.
(Wut...)
"Come on lets get some sleep, if you wanna join our little adventure meet me here at dawn."
Doomato chuckled, "I don't really have a last name!"
Blue stretched again. "Yup, time to hit the hay." She finished her mug of apple juice and waved at the bar tender. "Hey barkeep! Give me a key to a room!" She ordered. The bartender only rolled his eyes and put a key on the counter. Blue walked over, took the key, payed for one night as well as breakfast and headed upstairs to sleep.
Crimson sighed and threw a couple of gold coins at the bar keep, heading to her room. "Keep the change."
Doomato walked to the bartender, "Zeeblezooble, there!" He threw some bits out of his saddlebag onto the counter, "One room for the night, my good sir!"
A figure in a dark green cloak whom had been sitting in the corner of the inn finally began to stir. As he looks over in Crimson's direction, the light illuminates his griffon features. He gets up out of his seat and approaches her, lowering his hood in the process, revealing his black-feathered head and piercing green eyes. As he reaches Crimson, he says, "I apologize for further delaying your slumber, but your quest interests me. May I accompany your band, as well?"
The bartender took the bits from Crimson and from Doomato, then gave Doom a key. "Just a little word of advice, fella. Keep your hooves away from the little blue one, that filly is only trouble." He warned and laughed, then went to tend to the bar again.
Doomato nodded and gave him a "thanks for the warning" face. As Doomato shoved the key into his saddlebags, he heard the words of the griffon. He turned towards him and waved his arm in the air, "Quest!? Pick me! Pick me! I've done tons of those!"
Crimson sighed. "Meet me down here at dawn and we'll talk. Now if you'll excuse me, I want some shut eye."
The dark griffon nods and heads out the door of the inn, into the night.
Doomato shrugged and trotted up the stairs.
The next morning at dawn the inn burst into life, the barkeep happily serving ponies, gryphons and zebra alike. Crimson sat in her gleaming armour and waited for the others. "Where are those lot?" she asked herself as she ate her breakfast, a cider and porridge.
A couple of drunks ran upstairs, a loud bang being heard as a medic ran to check on them. "Owch..."
The griffon swoops down from a grove of nearby trees, alighting before Crimson, "I do hope I am not late."
The paladin turned her head and motioned the gryphon forward. "'Ey Over 'ere!"
Doomato trotted down the stairs and into the main room, "Zeeblezooble, everypony!"
"Can you talk normally?"
Rapid took out his room key and went up to his room, not too intrested in anything the other ponies talked about. After brushing his teeth he went to bed, to be able to wake up in the dawn.
Blue walked downstairs a moment later with a grumpy face. She sat to the table with Crimson and grumbled some protest to the 'early waking' before the bartender set a plate of breakfast in front of her and she started to eat.
"Where is the other one?" Crimson asked impatiently.
Rapid came down the stairs making loud yawns and groaning.
"Ugh, I forgot to turn on the heat before I went to bed, gosh it was cold up there." He gasps and sits down next to the others, ordering strong coffee and a double sandwich.
((I got to leave now, just let him tag along on what ever happens))
"Eat quickly, we haven't much time!"
Rapid drank the coffee and then quickly ate the rest of the breakfast.
Blue sighed and ate her breakfast, at least part of it, the rest she packed in her saddlebag. Then she took a large drink of water and was ready to depart.
"Oh, my saddle bag!, I'll be right back!" Rapid says and rushes up the stairs.
"Alright, my sister was last seen in Splinterhoof Crag, so we go there first, she told me she was going to tame a Venomhide Ravasaur last time I saw her too, so expect something either grim, or strange..."
Doomato pulled a bottle of water out of his saddlebags and drank it as he searched for the others.
Rapid rushed down the stairs with his bag on.
"Okay, I'm ready, I guess we just need to wait for the others now..."
"We're all here now aren't we?" Crimson asked, looking at her allies.
The griffon nods, "It would seem that way."
"Alright lets go we need to get to The Ravasaur Hights in the north of Splinterhoof Crag." Crimson said walking to the door, her blade, a holy blade of the sun, sitting comfortably on her back as she walked. She knew she didn't want to use it if she didn't have to.
The griffon followed behind her. In gaps in his green cloak, one would be able to see studded leather armor. He carried no weapons, for he needed none.
Outside was still fairly dark, but travelling through the rock terrain of Splinterhoof Crag would be easy enough, unless the group ran into trouble.
Blue yawned and dag in the dirt a bit. "The sun isn't even up yet..." she complained.
Crimson smiled as the sun rose in the sky. "You were saying?" she gloated slightly.
The young mare frowned and stared straight into the sun "Traitor!" she exclaimed before getting blinded by the suns brilliant glow, she rubbed her eyes and growled cutely. "Fine! I get the point..."
Doomato dolphin-dived towards the door, "Wait for me, guys!"
"Hurry up you lot!" Crimson called as she trotted ahead of the group, her armor gleaming brilliantly in the bright sun. The group were entering the rocky crag, leaving that sunlight behind, for now at least.
Blue followed close behind Crimson, she was wearing a light leather armor and boots, which somepony could mistake for just fashion choices, but in fact was designed to protect her while keeping the weight of the armor it self as minimum as possible.
Doomato sighed by the door of the Inn, "Guess I'll have to track 'em the Cornish way..." He left the Inn, searching for the "Quest-givers".
The griffon stayed on the ground for now, softly treading near the rear. He constantly glanced around, his ears twitching at every sound.
It was quiet, the only sounds being the group's travelling and the ambience of the crag, along with a few birds chirping.
Doomato looked around outside,"Hello? Are you guys there?"
Blue was humming a song all the way here, but now stopped, her ears twitched in the air and her crossed eyes racing across the surroundings. "Something's not right..." she whispered nervously.
Doomato looked at the drawn-on watch on his hoof, "Ugh, I don't have time for this. I'm gonna have to raise my voice... HELLO!!??"
The group, now deep in the crag, continued. "I don't feel anything..."
The griffon's ears twitched as he heard Doomato's yell, "I take it you are not willing to go back for the blue stallion?"
"Shoulda kept up." Crimson replied.
Doomato rolled his eyes, "I have a made-up conference in never!"
Blue turned to Doomato and tilted her head. "Oh, the guy from yesterday. Nolastname, was it?" She rubbed her chin.
Doomato noticed the others in the distance and galloped towards them, "Zeeblezooble, everypony!"
The dark griffon looked back at Doomato and rolled his eyes. He made a mental note to keep as far away from him as possible. After all, every good ambush needs a distraction.
Blue gave Doomato a mind broken look and waved her hoof. "Yeah, zeeblewhatever to you too."
Crimson kept walking, ignoring the others.
Doomato finally caught up with the rest, "Zeeblezooble, guys!"
Without turning to look at him, the griffon simply deadpans, "Indeed."
((sorry guys, bed time for me :c see ya tomorrow, maybe, not sure))
(( Night Blue! ))
A dark blue unicorn who was eavesdropping on the group watched as they had already left through the door. She was wearing a black cape along with 2 rings on each front leg and had a serious look on her face. The mare was lowering the glasses on her face as she walked out the door. "A group, going on an expedition I see. Well, this could be interesting." she murmured as she followed the trail keeping out of sight.
((Is it OK if Crimson and North Wind know each other? As friends, to be exact?))
((We can call them acquaintances, but not friends. She's foreign to the rest of the group.))
Crimson turned left suddenly at a caves entrance, it was tunnel to the eastern part of the crag.
(( i just noticed we have a dice option O: will we use it? X3 ))
[blockquote]Rolled 1d20 : 10, total 10[/blockquote]
(maybe)
(A dice option? I never noticed that)
(( Yep, been there for a few weeks now. Just press the dice button up in the format bar. ))
The unnamed griffon looks towards the cave as well, waiting for Crimson to make her move. While he waits, his sensitive ears scan for anything around them.
(( If this check works, then he'll notice Lunar if that's okay with everyone ))
(http://forum.legendsofequestria.com/Themes/Regal/images/dice_warn.gif) This dice roll has been tampered with!

((What I meant was North Wind followed Crimson here from Equestria without her knowing))
(Oh, kk. But no more Equestrian's.)
"Come on! Ravasaur Rise is just beyond this cave."
Still staring into the darkness, the nameless griffon simply says, "You first, Crimson."
Blue sighed and charged her horn, channeling a light spell as she walked forward into the cave.
North Wind watched as they entered the cave one by one. He had followed Crimson to Azenaire after he heard about her quest. He would've asked, but knowing Crimson, she would've turned him down and said that he would be a hindrance to the mission because of his cowardly nature. But he wanted to go, so he just stayed out of sight.
The mare looked at the light illuminating in the cave and started following from higher ground to avoid getting lost.
Crimson walked forward through the passage, ignoring each and every turnoff- not that there were that many anyway. Soon enough the group reached the centre of the cave, where they felt an earthquake. "Uh-oh" Crimson muttered as the cave behind the collapsed, and so did ahead of them, they were trapped!
Blue switched her gaze between the now sealed pathways. "Right... This is not good..." She said.
((is it still shaking?))
The mare looked down on the lower area which was blocked off. "Great..." she said sarcastically.
(Yup)
Suddenly the cavern roof collapsed, Crimson forming a protective bubble just in time, although it strained her abilities greatly. "D-Dig, before I can't hold it a-anymore!"
Blue looked up and charged her horn, creating another defensive bubble above them, aiding Crimson's bubble. "How long can we last?" She asked and had her guestimates, but she wanted to hear another opinion.
"A-About two minutes..." Crimson responded through gritted teeth.
"That's a little longer than i though." Blue said with an endured expression, breathing heavily.
"Well, HELP!"
" o_O" The mare looked up and flinched when she noticed the ceiling collapsing too. She backed up to notice on how the chunks were falling. She took a deep breath then leaped up the bigger pieces of the falling ceiling getting covered in dirt in the process.
Being a griffon and lacking in magic, he began to help Blue with digging their way out.
North Wind had to think fast. Using his cryokinetic powers, he froze the pile of rubble and boulders, and then unfroze it, letting the water wash away the smaller bits. He did this a few times, until all that was left was the larger stones.
((I'll explain why a Pegasus has ice magic later))
((KK))
Crimson was still straining to hold the shield but soon enough there was an opening. "Go, I'll be right behind you!"
It took was taking a while for the mare to get to the highest spot. When she reached the highest ledge she looked at the ceiling. "Seems thin." her horn started to glow then she shot a large hole in the ceiling which exposed sunlight showing signs of an exit. "Perfect." the mare mumured as she teleported through the hole.
Blue kept channeling her shield as well. "I can take a bit more, go." She said to Starlight.
"N-No, you go, if I led anypony to their demise... I wouldn't be able to live with myself..." Crimson replied as she struggled to hold the shield up. There were more rocks falling down, yet the hole still remained - for now.
The griffon stops digging and, looking at the hole, attempts to grab Blue and fly out through it.
North Wind shot a crack in a boulder with his bow, and the magical ice arrow created a large ball of ice, splitting it open. He did it to a few more boulders until there was enough room for one pony to get out at a time.
Once grabbed by the griffin Blue gasped, but didn't struggle. This way she could get to safety while still aiding the shield with her own still channeled magic.
As they reach the hole, the griffon tosses Blue out first before following her.
Everypony other than Crimson had gotten free when the shield failed, nearly crushing Crimson, get a glimpse of life, and light, remained inside.
Blue cringed in pain as her channeling for painfully canceled. She gazed in the cave, worried for her employer, and possible new fried. "H-Hey, Crimson? You alright in there?" She asked.
There was no response but the light glowing slightly brighter.
North Wind swooped down in front of the rubble, surprising everypony."She might still be alive! We need to get her outta there!"
The mare sat down and looked through the hole to watch everything going on at the bottom.
Blue nodded and charged her horn as she started to clear the rubble with her unicorn telekinesis spell, hopefully the others will help too, as she can only move so much on her own.
Seeing what everyone else is doing, the griffon flies back down into the cave, moving what rocks he can with his physical strength.
North Wind scrambles feverishly through the rocks.
Blue spotted something golden suddenly, armor!
((Bump))
//Is this still alive?
(( I would hope so, I think I and Snowcraft are just waiting on Grizzly to respond ))
//I'll give it until after the weekend
Blue gasped. "I see her! Help me with this rubble!" She said in a commanding voice and with the use of her unicorn telekinesis and her hooves removed the debris to get to the armor.
The still unnamed griffon goes to Blue's call and begins tossing away rocks as more of Crimson becomes visible.
The paladin's damaged plate armor was nearly beyond repair, and her sword had been shattered in two. Crimson wasn't moving, but a slight groan revealed she had survived!
As the group finally moved enough rubble out of the way Blue pulled Crimson out of the collapsed cave. She looked over the armor and tried to remove it to get to her and provide first aid, while asking. "Anyone here knows more than first aid?"
Words escaped Crimson's mouth, they were weak but still words. "I-I do..."
"Don't talk, Crimson, you are not in the condition." She looked around while giving first aid, stabilizing her. "There, that's all that i can do... You need to rest a bit, when you gain enough strength you can finish the healing." She looked around again. "I think we should camp here..."
"I... Fine." Crimson replied painfully.
Suddenly the mare's horn and hoof started to glow as she stuck it through the hole in the ceiling. "First aid recovery, lets see if I help with that." she thought. She sprayed healing essence over rubble where Crimson was to make the pain go away.
Crimson winced slightly.
North Wind trotted up to Crimson. "Are any bones broken?" He knew she was in no shape to smack him, but he braced himself, out of habit.
North suddenly felt a sharp pain as Crimson cast judgement, she didn't like him much...
Blue frowned. "Crimson! You can't be doing that, you need to rest! If you wanted him smacked you should just tell me."
Crimson sighed and cast the same spell on Blue. "Q-Quiet..."
Blue gasped silently, then folded her ears and lowered her head, frowning. That's what you get for trying to help...
The griffon did his best to stay off to the side. If she needed his help, she would ask.
A loud crack suddenly split the air, and a large cloud of smoke suddenly appeared a short distance away from the group. As it dissipated, a unicorn mare could be seen standing amidst it, coughing and spluttering.
"Aw, not again!"
Crimson looked at the new comer, her gaze fixating on her.
Once her head stopped spinning and she stopped hacking and wheezing, Book Keeper took a good look at her new surroundings. She was somewhere in the mountains, the Splinterhoof Crags if she recalled correctly. It was a dangerous place to be, alone or in a party. Her last two attempts had landed her in equally dangerous places as well, but at least this time she had arrived somewhat close to a settlement. She noticed the remains of collapsed cave, and a group of creatures standing near it, a short distance from her. There was a hurt pegasi paladin lying amongst them, whose eyes had fixated upon hers. She gulped nervously.
((Crimson is a pegasi))
(fixed. I tried looking though the thread, couldn't find reference to her pony type)
(Yeah, I never mentioned it till now.)
Crimson turned her head back upwards away from the newcomer, using her wings to shield her.
Book Keeper jumped back nervously at the semi-threating display.
"I, um, mean you no harm," she called out.
Night Star look down at the duo especially at the unexpected newcomer with disbeif in her eyes. "Where did she come from?" she thought.
((Azenaireian's don't know of Celestia.))
