And thus an expedition of was created. An expedition that consists of all the allied species. Half civilian and half military. The chosen leader of the expedition is a civilian, but from a military background, a compromise that both sectors agreed on. The expedition was fifty individuals large, and they had to take with them as much as possible, chances are they are not coming back.
The expedition stands in front of the portal to the unknown and dr. Blue Star, the leader of the expedition, steps fourth for a motivation speech.
"Alright everyone, i'll try to make it short. None of us would be standing here now if we weren't absolutely sure we wanted to go. What lies on the other side? What became of Atala? Are the legends even true? Will we ever return? Those are some of the questions that i am sure every one of us has on their mind. And today, after Celestia know how many generations, we stand united once more, ponies, griffons, zebras and even changelings. We will find the answers together." with the final sentence the portal activated. A water like substance filled the empty space of the portal, making it look like a mirror. Blue took a deep breath and walked through, as she did a ripple spread through the supposed liquid. Others looked at each other, but gathered theirs courage and followed. This is your final chance to change your mind, will you?
---The other side---
Darkness surround everything as the final member exits the portal and it shuts down. The air was dense, hard to breathe, and it was hot. Seconds pass and the first beams of light illuminated the surroundings, light from flashlight and unicorn horns was the source of said illumination. The expedition could see a large and mostly hexagon room. Other thing of note was that some members of the expedition were injured, some unconscious even. The eery silence was broken by Blue's voice.
"Nurse?" She looked at one of the nurses, the nurse looked back and both nodded. What followed was the medical staff tending to every member of the expedition.

Captains' log:
Spoiler: Entry One show This is doctor Blue Star, leader of the expedition. I found a small notebook in my room, so i decided to log everything major that happens, and i'm aware of the old fashion way. We arrived to the city about a week ago, and already we have our first crisis done. The city was under water, and started to flood, and the city's AI systems were acting weird. I was given by the AI, they are called Avatars, a bracelet/horseshoe thing, when i put it on it connected me to the core, we call him Grumpy. Thanks to this, Cosmos, Tundra, and others, we were able to detect the problem, delete it, and safely get the city above the sea. A little too much for our first adventure here, if you ask me.
Spoiler: Entry Two show We were to the landmass and discovered something like a pyramid with a maze in it. In the maze we encountered Iron Will's ugly brother. All jokes aside, the creature we encountered was truly fierce, easily destroying two of our machina. The maze and the creature reminds me of a old maretail my mother used to tell me when i was little, about naughty foals that are sent to the Catacombs to be eaten by the Minotaur. I wonder if that story has its origin here.
Checkmate took a quick look around once his vision cleared, leaving the lighting to others. Given that his horn glow was black, it would've hardly helped matters. Instead he took stock of everypony, making sure none were injured. Being the leader of the military detachment, he gave most of his attention to his underlings, although he also looked over the civilians.
Starlight looked over to Checkmate, and then checked herself for injuries. She looked like she came out in good condition.
"Well... We're here."
Indeed. Any injuries? Checkmate requested, pulling out a pad and preparing to write down a list of injuries.
The medical staff of the expedition, including Blue, walked form one member of the expedition to the next, treating their injuries if there were any. Blue walked to Starlight and Checkmate. "Are you two alright?" she questioned.
Indeed, Dr. Blue Star. Checkmate said, saluting briefly. After all, she did technically outrank him on the expedition. Any major injuries noted?
"None." Blue shook her head and smiled. "It seems that those that passed out did so do to the sudden change in the air temperature." She explained and quickly overlooked the group, the medical staff was just about finished examining everyone. "Alright, now we have to figure out where we are and how we get out."
Cosmic looks blindly through his tool kit looking for a light source. "Oh come on. where are you? I know this kit has one. Ah! here it is." He pulls out the light source and activates the sun crystal flash light from his tool kit. he points it around looking to see if everypony is ok. He then says, "Miss Blue, do you need a light source? I found my sun crystal flash light."
I would propose we make a base camp here, and send out some of my ponies to function as scouts. Checkmate offered.
((I would like to be clear, this is not the nice Checkmate from other RPs.))
Blue smiled at Cosmic. "It's alright, the light spell is almost no strain on me what so ever, its about the same as a levitation spell." She explained and then turned to Checkmate. "Alright, do so." She nodded. More and more members lighted up their own flashlight or horn. Those who notice could see that the entire room has an circuit board like look, and the portal on this side is about four times bigger than the one they used.
Checkmate hoof-picked a few ponies to scout the surrounding area, and others to begin setting up tents and such.
((Basically, if anypony wants to be in the scouting group, go ahead!!))
cosmic's eyes had a sparkle to them as he looked around. All anypony could hear him say is "Jackpot!" cosmic begins to analyze the whole room. Namely the portal. He checks to see if there was any way of activating it again and if so where he might find such an activation switch.
There are no noticeable switches anywhere in sight, though if one closely looks at the circuit board pattern at the base of the portal one could see that a few circuit lines lead to a circle on the floor, about ten meters away from the portal, about double the size of a regular pony hoof. Other circuit lines also lead to this circle.
Cosmic follows the lines and says to checkmate, "Hey boss! I think I might be able to get this portal operational again if we can find out where these lines go." Cosmic points a hoof at the connecting circle and the lines leading from it. "Only one problem. The tech here is a bit more advanced then I thought and I didn't bring the hyper advanced kit with me. So I will need more time then normal to figure it out." Cosmic begins to analyze the circle on the floor see if there was any sign of a language or something to tell him what these lines are for and where they could lead. this in turn forces him to examine the entirety of the room. he says, "If any of the equipment is damaged or gets damaged while we are here, let me know and I will fix it for ya. That is one of my jobs after all. if not I will continue to analyze the room and try to make heads or tails of what we can and cant do with this here portal. If yall find any more portals let me know about them as well."
We will. Go ahead and get that portal operational while we wait for scouting reports. Checkmate said, pacing within the area.
---The circle---
From your analysis you can only guess that the circle is either a control point for the room, and perhaps more, or where you put the energy source, though what kind of energy it needs you have no idea.
Cosmic Writes the official report he needs to and hooves it to checkmate. The report contains only a few things. The portal seams to lack some sort of energy source or the circle may be a control point for the portal. if it is in need of an energy source, the report says, without a proper analyzing kit I am unable to determine what kind of energy source would best work the portal. Requesting that all things related in some fashion to the portal be brought to Cosmic for further analysis. All unidentifiable items also are requested to be brought before Cosmic for analysis.
Tundra seemed completely absorbed into searching the room from the moment they arrived, lighting the immediate area around him with glowing runes while occasionally making runes on the floor, activating them for a few seconds before erasing them again as he searched for any traces of magical energy to hopefully find any potential traps, and perhaps find a lightswitch too while he was at it.
Starlight looked around the room for a door of some sorts, and heard her communicator.
"Ma'am we've completed our scouting and found- what was that?"
"What was that?" Starlight asked the communicator.
"I'm not sure, it may have been a miss-fire" came the reply.
"Carefull everypony, we don't know for sure if something is out there...
A tremor was felt in the room, all of a sudden the circle Checkmate was examining lighted up in a light blue glow. The glow spread from the circle to the portal, to the walls and even the ceiling. The whole hexagon room was now lighted pretty well and the walls themselves began to glow in a white light. Two doors opened on the far ends of though the corridors were dark.
"Stick together everypony." Blue called out and looked around. Suddenly a voice was heard, though it sounded distorted distorted.
"Welcome to Atala." A flash of light spread from the middle of the room and a form of a white transparent alicorn appeared.
Starlight turned and aimed her weapon at the alicorn, yet did not attack it.
"Is that celestia?" she asked herself.
cosmic is examining the now available new data about the place. While the power is flowing he tries to pinpoint a possible power source. He listens but other wise is engrossed in his analyzing of the now available room power.
"It does look like her a bit." Blue said to Starlight and walked forth to the alicorn. It turned to her and smiled. "My name is Blue Star, who are you?" she questioned.
"I am M.I.A. The Meeting Intelligence Avatar for the city of Atala." it answered in a somewhat robotic fashion.
Blue hesitated for a bit but then extended her hoof, trying to tough M.I.A. but her hoof just past through her.
"Please don't do that." M.I.A. protested. "S-Sorry." Blue quickly retracted her hoof.
Cosmic could tell that the circle was a distribution point, but the energy or how exactly it works still remains a mystery.
So M.I.A.? Where exactly in Atla are we?" Starlight asked, mispronouncing the cities name.
M.I.A. turned to Starlight. "You are in the travelers port, deep within the city." She pointed next to her and a white structure appeared, with red shapes corresponding to the expedition in the very bottom and center. "I am designed to greet visitors and guide them further." she answered the next question, which wasn't even asked yet.
"Okay... So are we safe here or will we need to keep our guard up?"
Cosmic looks to the M.I.A. and says, "If it is ok with you, can we have a map. I would love to better understand this city and the technology that went into building such a wonder. Even you are a piece of work. hope ya don't mind a bit of a complement. one more thing What would be the next best place to go for say a better understanding of possible languages here?" Cosmic seams to have pulled himself away from his study to ask the questions he has.
Starlight growled at Cosmic "Hey! I asked a question first!"
"I am happy to report that in the current time the city is safe. All safety machina are up and running, and as soon you pass registration you will be safe to walk around" M.I.A. Turns to Cosmic. "If you want more information about the city, it's architecture, and the technology in placed, please visit our library when you finish with the registration." she ignored the question about the map and turned to Blue again. "Are you ready for registration?" She asked. Blue turned to Cosmic. "What do you think?" she wanted to hear more opinions before she'll answer.
Cosmic shrugs and says, "If registration is what it takes to do our given jobs then by all means begin. So who will be first?"
((sorry y'all. If I don't respond immediately then that means am out for the count. something tells me I will not be able to keep up at this time.))
"Remain still, please." M.I.A. stated and closed her eyes, a beam of light swooped across all the members of the expedition. It was painful a bit, but not so serious. When it was finished before M.I.A. flashed the images of every member of the expedition, their name and their health state. "Sorry for the inconvenience, registration is now finished."
Starlight nodded to M.I.A, before slinging her weapon on her shoulder and walking towards the corridor. "I'm going to take a look ahead."
There were now two open corridors.
"So, how can we activate the portal? And how many inhabitants this city has?" Blue asked.
"Unfortunately, the gate is currently out of order. It is impossible to operate at this point. The city's population is now 50 united entities." M.I.A. started to talk in a somewhat motherly tone, and overall started to treat the members of the expedition as children.
Starlight Paused "Fifty entities? Does that mean we're alone here?"
Tundra watched quietly as the other members of the expedition talked with the strange AI while he himself worked on a particularly large searching rune, activating it and having it on for a few seconds before erasing it, seeming relieved over the results.
"Doesn't seem to be any traps of the rune type at least, and MIA, would you mind telling me why this city is abandoned? Just judging by this room alone it appears that the builders and occupants were quite advanced and I can hardly imagine such beings just up and leaving for no reason." Tundra asked, a litte sceptical of the AI but not seeming to have much against it, nor asking a question at the same time as Starlight.
"Yes." M.I.A. answered and turned to Tundra. "I apologize, but that information is classified."
Tundra frowned at the answer but did not pursue it further, instead deciding to ask something else that would be more useful right now.
"Three questions, is it possible for us to get some sort of personal map display for easier navigation? Are there areas we should stay out of? And lastly, has rune magic been used in the construction of this place?" He asked, curiosity getting the rise of him as he already idly planned out what to do, the library was something he would definitely look into as he was rather curious of it's contents and language.
"There are no personal maps, but every major point has a control point, where you may use one of the other avatars. As of now, all of you have the clearance to enter blue areas, any other are unavailable for you and you will be punished if you enter. I am unfamiliar with the term 'rune magic', please rephrase your question."
Tundra frowned a little as they only had blue clearance and apparently would be punished if they went above this clearance, he hoped the library wasn't divided into similar sections.
"The current definition of runic magic is where magic is channeled through symbols, what the energy goes to achieving depends on what the symbol is, at least that is layman's terms." He explained as he drew a rather simplistic rune on the floor simply to show what it was. "Simply magic channeled through text or symbols, I need to know in case there are reinforcement runes that I or others should stay well clear of until I can inspect them to look for any deterioration, possibly repair them if needed."
"Definition recognized. 'Rune Magic' was included during the construction of the city, as well as its function."
Tundra smirked and nodded, then headed off to search for the library without saying anything more, not even bothering to ask direction, he'd get there somehow and he might as well get used to the place while doing so.
Saiko emerged from the darkness slightly drowsy from waking up recently. He was rubbing his head as he met up with the rest of the expedition team. Immediately, he noticed the AI and just stared at it in curiosity.
Throughout the corridor, you can see pathways marked in several color codes, blue, yellow, orange and red. There were only a few blue pathways, most of them were yellow.
Blue wanted to ask a few more questions but M.I.A. disappeared. Blue sighed and sat down. "So, what should we do now?" She asked noone in particular.
"How about explore?" Starlight suggested
"We should probably find some place we can make our base, this doesn't look like the best place." Blue said and noticed Saiko, she waved to him and said a happy 'hello'.
Tundra didn't spend much time deciding where to go, just picking a random blue pathway, while he was tempted to disobey the AI he would rather know of it's methods of "punishment" first to know just how bad an idea it would be, he was looking forward to potential higher clearances though as he noticed most pathways were yellow, most likely a sort of citizen clearance he told himself as he calmly walked on a blue pathway with no real destination besides wherever it would lead him.
The path Tundra was following took him directly to a brightly lighted playground.
"Hello Blue," Saiko happily replied. He stared into the corridor and proceeded down. While walking down the passage, he took a brown journal from his saddle bag and began writing down the details of the setting.
Blue sighed and looked to the rest of the expedition. "Alright everyone. Spread out and find what ever you can. And for the love of Celestia, stay in blue zones, don't want to deal with this 'punishment', what ever it is." She more suggested than ordered and followed Saiko. "So, didn't really have a chance to talk before. How have you been?" She asked.
Tundra looked confused as he noticed the bright playground, the discovery scewing over his clearance theory though in his mind it hardly currently mattered, this at least meant the place also contained civillians, which meant it must have some sort of food production to support the population. He just idly pondered this while wandering around the playground, seeing what he could recognize and what he didn't.
He lowered the book to engage in a conversation with Blue. "I've been doing well. Pretty much did the usual jobs," he returned casually. "How about you?"
"Well, a lot has happened in the past ten years. I finished school and started a clinic in Manehatton, Cookie and i got married. Oh, and Cookie started a singing carrier, you might have heard her in the radio a few time." Blue gave Saiko a brief sum up as they followed a blue path, a different one than Tundra though.
The only thing Tundra could recognize, out side of swings and other playground equipment, was a circle on the wall, identical to the one in the portal room.
Tundra looked over most of the playroom, while there were a few things he couldn't recognize there wasn't really all that much unknown in the room, the circle did draw his attention though, he already knew very roughly what it did but was quite curious as the MIA had mentioned other avatars, so he stood in front of the circle for a few moments, failing that he'd do the next best thing, poke at it very gently.
"Aww, I'm so happy for the both of you!" he smiled. "And I don't think I've really heard her sing. I don't really stay in towns alot."
They mostly force me out of town anyways.
"We actually wanted to invite you to the wedding, but its kinda hard to find you sometimes." Blue joked a bit as they walked down the blue pathway, they too saw a lot of yellow areas, and some orange.
The circle lighted up in a blue color and another transparent alicorn appeared. "Do you need help?" It spoke in a motherly tone.
Tundra held back a sigh as he heard the overly motherly tone, yup, this one was definitely made for foals. "nothing urgent, I am mostly exploring some areas and I would like a little information about this area in general."
Atlis emerges from the darkness all tired like sees that the group was already ahead of he so he catches up with them.
"Hey guys what I miss?"
"I really have no idea, would be nice though. Only thing other we have with us as food are military ration, not the best tasting stuff." Blue said and looked around, all she could see were more pathways, nothing that seemed like a restaurant or buffet though. Blue yelped a bit as Atlis appeared. "Oh, hi Atlas." she said in a very friendly matter.
"This area is meant for play. There are many games you can play. Would you want to try some?"
Starlight had followed Tundra, however had taken another turn and found herself in a room she found interest in.
"Well, well. What do we have here?" she asked herself.
The room Starlight found herself in looked like a reception room, there was a bench for sitting and what looked like a board with symbols and signs unfamiliar to her.
((this reminds me, do we have someone familiar with ancient languages here? if not i'll just establish an NPC for it))
Starlight observed the room looking for a tell tale sign that there was an AI available.
"Hello?" She called out.
Atlis wonders around the room curious about the unfamiliar language.
"I think this is some sort of ancient language- ((NO DUH ATLIS)) -that dates around the early 200's to late 350's maybe?"
((I mocked atlis and atlis is me so I mocked myself for being captain obvious))
Tundra just shook his head in response to the AI. "I do not feel much the need to play games at the moment though thank you for the offer, I'll have to leave though, I might be needed somewhere else." He said half as an apology, hoping that if the AI was self-aware, something he doubted for this particular one, it wouldn't take offense at him leaving.
((I assume all members have some form of communicator, saying this here because OOC doesn't seem used much. Also Tundra should be familiar with a couple ancient languages as much of it is used for rune magic and explaining it.))
After Starlight called a voice was heard. "We apologize, but there is no doctor currently available. Please consider using our medical avatar."
Tundra's AI disappeared with no noticeable reaction to him leaving.
((alright, every member of the expedition has a saddlebag and a communicator. And if you have only OOC posts, put that in the OOC, if you have an RP post as well i don't mind it.))
As Tundra left he quickly pulled the communicator out of his saddle bag. "I found a sort of playground, blue clearance, the AI is made for foals so don't bother asking it for information beyond simple logic, the playground means that this place has had civillians occupying it for prolonged time before, there's probably some facilities for food production." he said into the communicator, transmitting the message to the other members of the expedition while he continued exploring, choosing a different blue pathway this time.
Blue picked up the communicator and listened to the transmission. "Understood." She answered and hid the communicator again. following the bath she and Saiko were on led them to a larger room with a lot of benches and some kind of device on a wall.
Atlis wondered away from his group like a complete idiot and he stumbles upon a huge titanium door that had a huge key lock on it.
"I wonder what's in here...darn it's completely locked...the communicator."
Atlis gets his communicator out.
"uh guys I found a huge titanium door that is locked...I'm curious on why the people who lived here need a reinforced door like this."
((the door is like 20 ft tall))
((sorry, but no.))
((Even if there was such a door it would obviously NOT be in a blue section, also how the heck would he know it's titanium anyways?))
Starlight ignored her communicator. Instead she looked for the AI.
"Hello? Where is the AI?" she asked the room, assuming it could respond.
((what you never seen titanium before it's like a steel looking metal but it's harder than steel..))
((But with no visible difference according to what you just said, anyways just remove the post about the door, there's not meant to be a door there.))

Starlight ignored her communicator. Instead she looked for the AI.
"Hello? Where is the AI?" she asked the room, assuming it could respond.
A transparent earth pony in a nurse hat appeared in front of Starlight. "What is your medical need?"
Starlight looked at the hologram.
"I need a list of every known pathogen in this city, and instructions on how to cure them."
"That information would take too long to convey, please state your illness or symptoms and leave the treatment on us." it answered.
you guys got no fun imagination...i'm leaving. *gets up from desk and walks towards coat rack* You guys need to have more fun. *gets coat and hat on* Call me when you guys learn how to have more fun. *walks out the door and closes it*
((...))
Starlight paused. She thoughtfully created an answer.
"Our team just arrived, non of us are sick either as far as I'm aware..." Starlight pulled out her communicator. "I found a medical area, anypony ill?"
"Hm, curious thing on the wall here," Saiko said to himself. He quickly draws a rough sketch of the device, leaving out only unnecessary details and set his journal aside. He walks up to the device and begins examining it by lightly stroking it along it's outlines.
Tundra stopped as he heard the question from the communicator, picking it up again while taking a glance around himself to see if he was close to anything. "Far as I know, no, but you should perhaps be tested for illnesses if possible, if some sickness has snuck in it's likely to have spread out among us."
Starlight nodded, even though nopony could see it.
"Alright, AI, I want a medical test."
((Atlis, well sorry i don't give you full DM power over my RP...))
Blue watched as Saiko stroked the device, what ever it was. After hearing Starlights transmission she picked up her
communicator. "Medical area? Great, all medical staff go to Starlights location. Also i and Saiko found some kind of device, can someone of the tech team come and check it?"
The AI in front of Starlight nods and the same kind of light that was used for registration flashed over Starlight a few times, this time it felt more painful. A minute went by before the AI spoke again"Scanners indicate that you are in top condition. We have introduced a few vaccines into your system, you may experience some fatigue now, but it should pass in a few hours."
Starlight nodded, she really did feel fatigue and fell asleep quite fast, bashing her head on the floor as she did so.
Saiko froze for a moment before turning back to Blue. "Take a few paces away from the benches," he advised as he took out a small sack from his saddle bag.
The AI did another scan on Starlight to make sure she is uninjured. Luckily she wasn't. By the time she would wake up the medical staff Blue send there would be on spot.
Blue nodded and walked back to sit on one of the benches. "What are you..." she tried to ask.
Saiko scattered the contents of the sack, which appeared to be a mixture of gun powder and black wood chips onto the nearby benches, avoiding the one Blue was sitting on. His horn began to glow and the now highly combustible benches ignited with a searing black flame. The whole time the benches burned, he patiently waits for a reaction from the device as if igniting the benches was another normal thing.
Blue only stared at the burning bench and blinked. "Sometimes i forged how random you are." She whispered. The device didn't react, though something else did. A white oval shaped object descended from the ceiling and unfolded into what looked like a cannon. "Please remain calm and seated while we deal with the fire." it pronounced and a white beam fired from the cannon at the flame, the surroundings got cold rather quickly and the flame went out.
Saiko, slightly annoyed, brushed any soot from the extinguishing off his person in calm manner. "Well, that didn't work," he sighed.
The canon like machine folded into a oval shape and disappeared in the ceiling again as the voice was heard one more. "Please withdraw from causing any more fires, or you will be punished." Blue only blinked again. "What did you want to do?" she asked.
"I was hoping fire was going to be a catalyst for the device," he replied disappointed. "So, do you have any idea on how to get this thing to work?"
"Sorry, no. I don't even have a clue of what the hay it is." Blue answered and stood up. She looked around the walls. "Hey, if they reacted to fast to the fire, you think the city i actually monitoring us?"
"Possibly and if so, that's really creepy. Imagine the city; there's probably 1,984 cameras in there," he joked.
Blue just blinked a few times, then closed her eyes and yelled. "Hallo? Need assistance here, can you help?" nothing seemed to happen at first, Blue took another deep breath and just as she wanted to yell again a transparent earth pony appeared."Yes, i can help, what do you need? Are you lost? Injured? Hungry?" it asked in a motherly tone.
Cosmic says, "Well you would be more correct then incorrect. it seams from the communications there is an AI at every major junction. From what was said by one of your medical team it seams to also be a self sustaining city. I will look at the device if you two don't mind. By the way, it was unwise to do that."
Cosmic begins to examine the device. First looking for any form of writing that would describe what it is. if he found none he would look for any given detail that could be used to analyze the device. it is after he checks for every possible thing he could think of, he decides to ask any near by AI for info. He says, "AI, May I ask what this is used for?"
"This device is a projector, for educational purposes." it answered.
Cosmic Looks to the others and says, "When unsure ask the local AI. How many AI systems are located in the blue clearance area?"

After wondering for who knows how long Tundra came to a what seemed like a residential area. It all a blue zone, and it had 200 unclaimed rooms, the rooms were all the same size and design, and had what looked like a bed.
Tundra spent a good while searching the various residential rooms, eventually deciding that all of them were likely completely identical, he did a bit more searching though and a lot of magical scanning through runes before concluding it was safe. Sure there wasn't much logic in there being possible traps in a residential area but one could never be too safe he reminded himself as he picked up the communicator again, amplifying the signal a bit with a rune so it would reach everyone.
"Hey guys, good news, I found a huge residential area, blue clearance and more than enough rooms for all of us, already checked most of it and it's safe. Now if you don't mind I'll try and settle into one of the rooms, ninth to the right when entering." He said before finishing the transmission before walking back to the room he'd mentioned, unloading his saddle bag on what served as a desk, a bit fancy for his tastes when it came to apperance.
Blue picked up the communicator again after hearing about the residential zone and called for everyone who needs a rest, or wants to rest, to go there. Then she hid the communicator again and remained silent, not interrupting Cosmic and the AI.
"Blue clearance has twenty avatars supervising it." it answered calmly and then added. "Blue clearance is designated for children."
Blue stared a gap at the AI after hearing that. "The city thinks of us as foals? Well, i guess it makes sense considering how advanced it is but..."
"Well it would be rude if we declined their offer. Shall we?" Saiko persuaded.
Checkmate had stayed silent with the group, keeping an eye on things. ((Mainly cause I just got home... DD: ))
Cosmic says, "What does one need to do in order to gain access to more areas? Also, can you direct us to the library? We would like to read up on the many things of this fine city."
Back by where they had started, Panacea had just finished up tending to the few members that had passed out from the sudden change in atmosphere. She herself could barely stand the immediate change, so the mare couldn't blame them for passing out. Another thing that bothered her was the fact that the portal was, indeed, one way, and there would probably be slim chances of getting back. The city itself had amazed her so far with its highly advanced architecture, and she presumed that they would stumble across great technologies.
((Let's assume Checkmate's still at camp...I wasn't here for most of the day and couldn't do much. D: ))
Checkmate finished reading through the reports of the scouts that had returned, and was sitting in a tent thinking.
The white earth pony got up and exited the medical tent, all of the patients in good condition. After a few minutes, the medical tent was relatively empty, and there wasn't much for Panacea to do, except to wait. She sat down near the tent, looking up and around at the architecture, curious as to the history of the grand city, and how large it even was.
((coffee, just to make sure you know, Blue ordered everyone of the medical staff in the newly found medical area.))
((checkmate and coffee, there are no tents, we wanted to set them up, but even if we did we found a residential area so there is no need for them))

"Of course. Just follow the green line." It said and one of the circuits lighted up in a green light, it either didn't hear or, what is more likely, ignored the question about higher clearanse.
((Sorry, this is what happens when I'm gone for a day. D: I guess he's with the group then?))
Checkmate sighed at the line. Too obvious. That's either leading to a trap or something secret.
"Or it leads to the library as we asked." Blue sighed as well. "If all of us have 'children status' here, why would it try to trap us, or show us some secret?" She questioned and followed the line.
Checkmate followed wordlessly, waiting to see if his paranoia proved worthwhile.
Cosmic noticed something as the AI spoke. he waited till they were on their way before saying, "Did y'all notice something odd about the AI systems? When certain questions are asked, they seam to ignore them outright. I had asked about how to advance in clearance and the AI had ignored the question as if I didn't say it. I am starting to get a bad feeling about this."
Cosmic follows the line to the library, hoping to find some answers. He says before their arrival at the library, "I do hope the library isn't as restricted as the rest of this place is. If it is then we may find ourselves out of luck in trying to learn anything of importance. Especially if the Ai's think us children. the important stuff we need to know would more then likely only be available to those with adult clearance or its equivalent."
"I've noticed that with M.I.A. as well, didn't think much about it. But now that you mention it, yeah. This is starting to get weird." Blue said as they followed the path marked for them. They walked in a room with a lot bookshelves and strange devices on the wall.
cosmic looks around first to see how the clearance setup is for the library. what books are accessable by the clearance they have and which ones need higher clearance. he then checks some of the able to get to books to see what reading level they may be at or even if he knows the language. If he can't read the language he ask for a way to learn the book's language from the library AI.
Blue was searching the library as well, they found that this is merely the first floor of about 10, higher clearance for each floor, the blue clearance covered the first two. The language was unreadable for Blue as well as Cosmic, although many of the books had pictures and letters, ranging from very simple to moderately complex. As the two walked around a white transparent unicorn appeared. "Greetings, how may i help you?" it asked in a motherly tone. Blue sighed, growing frustrated of how the AIs talked to them.
Tundra spent a little while setting up his room, making it a bit more homely along with using a rune that was a personal favorite on it, causing the internal part of the room to expand to almost double the original size without taking up more space on the outside, he just hoped the AI wouldn't go bonkers trying to understand it being bigger on the inside. A bit more set-up and a simple rune on his door to mark his room and he was off exploring again, coming upon the library this time just as Blue was speaking to the AI.
Cosmic says, "If one couldn't understand a language and wanted to learn that language. What book would one read to learn said language or where would one go to learn said language?" cosmic shows his interest in learning. but also that when it came to technical devices he knew allot by outside standards. In here is knowledge is like that of a computer geek trying to write a story with ever touching a computer.
Tundra mostly ignored Cosmic as a book caught his eye, taking it down from it's shelf and opening it he started to read, or at least attempt to, since rune magic was used in the construction of this place the library surely was the same as one of the languages in the old rune tomes he'd studied before, fully expecting it to be in ancient equestrian or something similar.
(And going by that logic I'd say Tundra should be able to read these books just fine unless an entirely new language was made at Atala, wouldn't be surprised if most of the books in blue clearance are childrens books though, haha.)
"You may start with this." the AI said and a book levitated in front of Cosmic. "It's called 'reading and writing for the youngest', it will help you in learning the basics. For further study, please use one of the projectors on the walls" It smiled happily. Blue wanted to say something but another book levitated in front of her as well. "And one for you as well, please, if you have problems don't worry about asking." It said in a motherly tone and disappeared. Blue only growled under her breath and walked to a table, opening the book and trying to figure it out, which proved rather simple.
As Tundra opened the book that caught his eye he could recognize some symbols, even partially read a sentence every now and then, but what he read didn't make sense.
((not an entirely new language, but it evolved. Can't say any more right now, sorry, spoilers, but you may recognize a symbol every now and then, partially read a sentence but it wont make much sense to you.))
Cosmic started reading his book. Learning a new language, especially when it concerns new technology, is always fun for him. He takes the advice of the AI and when needing to further study he learns to use the projectors. It shows he has allot of stamina when for many what he is doing would normally put them to sleep after a few hours of it. He however seams to go for nearly 12 hours straight trying to learn the language.
((he hits the books hard the first day to get as much as he can in, then he will start to look into other things as he learns the language. By the way, He is going for the full kit. Read write understand and speak the language.))
(Okay, good to know, starts him off a little better than the others though.)
Tundra read the book a bit more, figuring out a few more words in it before putting it back where he found it and looking towards the projection. "Hey, is there a wordbook here with translation from this language to any language where we came from?"
(Tundra's also probably going for the full package, he's used to study-binging, if there is no wordbooks or glossary with translations he will just make use of the projectors too.)
Blue listed in the book for a while. She pulled out a quill and some papers form her bag and stated to make notes. "This reminds me of when i was trying to learn Latin." She sighed and continued. Hours go by and Blue's notes only piled on. She moved from one book to the next, picking up a vocabulary of 30 words and a few grammar rules. She stood up and walked to the device on the wall. "Um... Hallo? How do these work?" She asked and waved her hoof, trying to catch the attention of the AI. and figuring that since she is viewed as a child she might as well play that role for now. The AI appeared in front of her and gave a brief explanation of how to operate the device, which could be heard by the others as well.
((yeah, i'll go for a basic package for Blue, and i'm thinking of having a team of 'translators' as NPCs, if you want you can be a part of the translation team.))
Cosmic while engrossed in his book listens to how the projectors function. when the books aren't cutting it anymore he decides to use the projectors.
Cosmic says, "Normally I would agree with you, but in my case try learning the language used to program machines. Now that is a hard one. I also know for a fact rune magic's primary language is also hard to learn. Isn't that right, Mr. Tundra?"
((Naw, he is learning it to better understand the tech and to better communicate his questions to the AI units. In a way he doesn't like being ignored when trying to learn. If they need his help he would gladly lend it, but as for being part of the team for translating this place nope.))
((alright, the same goes for Tundra, if you want you can be a part of the translation team, just letting you know ^-^))
(Tundra would ofccourse want to learn the language since he'd be quite interested in whatever books would touch upon runes or similar and he just won't trust others to translate that information for him, would be cumbersome anyway having to go through half the translation team during a study binge, don't think he'd want to be on the translation team either though.)
Tundra meanwhile seemed to have considerably more motivation for learning the language as he already had a large pile of notes next to him while reading through his tenth book or so, the language being a derivative of another that he knew sped up his studies considerably as well.
several hours later Tundra seemed to still be going strong on the studies, the pile of notes next to him almost as tall as him and he didn't seem to slow down, at this pace it was a bit unclear what would come first, the next day or him reading every book in the library, only occasionally using the projector or asking the AI for some assistance translating a word or getting the pronunciation right.
"The rune language is a bit difficult to learn in the beginning, yeah, I have a bit of a knack for languages though." Tundra answered absentmindedly as he scribbled down yet more notes on some blank paper, where does he get that from anyways?
Blue remained at the projector, trying to access more than just language. Mainly history. It shown her how the city was build, without detail though, and the basic social structure of the culture. She yawned, rubbed her eyes and tried to get more information, but a different AI appeared in front of her. "You are tired, time for bed." Blue just frowned and tried to say something but was interrupted. "No discussion, go to your room and sleep." The AI said rather assertively. Blue just sighed and nodded, mainly because she really didn't want to know what the AI would do to a 'disobeying child.' "Alright, guys. Going to the residential area." She said, waved and left. To her surprise, the AI didn't just disappear, but followed her, 'encouraged' her to go straight to bed. When she got to the residential area she picked the first open room and took it for herself, went in and the door closed behind her, the AI was there with her so she tried to ask. "Why did you close the door?" She asked, a bit worried. She was meat with a warm smile. "To make sure you sleep well."
Cosmic first learned the language. Then he would begin work on learning the history social structure and he would try at times pick up a detail or two about the clearance system. in the end and just like Tundra, Cosmic had everything from diagrams to language notes to even Quantum Mechanics blueprints for some of his more complete projects. cosmic packed everything before Yawning and saying, "Good Morning Tundra. I am going to hit the sack now. Cya in a few hours. Maybe we can share notes. Your runic stuff might have similarities to the magic-quantum cores that I work with."
cosmic being an advanced tech specialist knows all too well what can happen if one tries to pull a full all night run and not sleep at all during the night. He also seams to hit his what seams to be water skin allot more when he is up late.
((BTW would like to soon come across something that is advanced and has an understanding use of power cores. Namely a small hoof mounted computer system or weapon.))
Tundra absentmindedly waved to Blue as th unicorn left, he himself would likely stay up for several more hours as the pile of nots next to him just grew bigger, finally stopping at about twice his height before he closed the last book he was reading and put it back. Instead of just going to bed though he went straight to the projector, looking up even more language-related info that he might have missed, determined to learn the language completely. Eventually finishing up a few hours after Cosmic, his notes filled with translations, meanings, gramatical rules and comparisons to other languages, even including proper pronunciations, after making sure his notes were finished and categorized for ease of reading he too went back to his room, pretty much going out like a light the moment he hit the bed.
(In case people are wondering how he was staying awake he's basically just using a rune to negate any and all effects of tiredness on himself, he'll turn it off when done, the AI might get a little confused watching him though seeing as he stays up for so long with no apparent signs of growing tired.)
Meanwhile, a few doors from where the rest of the team's bedrooms were, Saiko was making himself at home. He unloaded a handful of his belongings and materials onto a desk and simply left them there. After unpacking the last of his specified items, he put away his glasses and proceeded to bed. Any pony within a few feet of his vicinity could hear him snoring.
As soon as Saiko started snoring the door to his room closed, and nothing outside the room could be heard. In her room, Blue picked up the communicator. "Hallo? Anoone hear me?" She asked but got only static as an answer. The AI visibly frowned on Blue. "Your toy won't work here for now. I have set your room with shielding so that you may sleep uninterrupted. Now go to bed and lights out." Blue just nodded and dag under the covers of her bed as the lights went out. She tried to hide her worried look but couldn't but feel a little freaked out.
Inside his own room Tundra was sleeping peacefully, the only sound aside from his calm breathing being some runes written on the walls humming quietly, supporting the bending of space allowing his room it's increased size. He hadn't even remembered to turn off the room's lights or bothered to pull the cover over himself, his cloak compensating for the latter just fine while the former didn't really seem to affect his sleep before it automatically turned itself off.
(Oh and his cloak has huge sentimental value to him, wouldn't advise the AI to try to remove it, if it even can do so.)
Maple sat down in a empty room an started to unpack

wow i cant believe i'm here it doesn't even feel real
Starlight eventually woke up rubbing her head. "Where am I?" She asked herself absentmindedly. When she got up, the sudden change in her heads position caused her to become quite dizzy, but she shook it off, deciding where to go.
When she decided she made her way to M.I.A and asked her "M.I.A? Can I ask why our clearance seems to be that of a foal?"
M.I.A. appeared, but only smiled, not answering the question.
Starlight frowned and repeated the question. Her voice showed her clear annoyance.
"Do you have any other questions?" M.I.A. asked.
Starlight got mad at M.I.A and repeated for the third time, although rephrased in a more aggressive way.
"Calm down, little filly, no yelling." only responded, still smiling.
Starlight exploded in anger suddenly. " I'm not a filly! I'm a Celestia-bucking mare!" Starlight then paused... "That came out wrong."
(( lol ))
M.I.A. stared to frown and her image became dark. "I think you need a time out." A big bright flash appeared, and Starlight was suddenly in one of the residential rooms, the door was closed and there was no visible way to open it.
(A time out was the first thing I thought of when I saw that reaction, hehe. Well now we know it's possible for the city to teleport ponies around, well, the ones that don't have some form of magical protection anyways.)
(Wow...)
Starlight got really mad, something anger management issues contributed to. "LET ME OUT!"
There was no answer for Starlight.
By this time, Blue woke up. She stretched and jumped out of bed, picking up her communicator and tried it. "Everyone meat in the residential area, please." She ordered and threw the communicator on the bed, her door was open, so she just walked out and waited at the entrance into the area.
By the time Blue had ordered everyone to meet in the residential area Tundra had slept for a while, long enough to be woken by the order through the communicator he'd just dumped on the table, it took a couple minutes of grumbling, falling off the bed twice, an entire lemon and a few runes made for waking him up before he felt awake enough to go to the entrance of the residential area, smelling faintly of lemon.
Starlight was still banging on the door. "LET ME OUT!"
"The more you misbehave the longer you stay here." a voice was heard.
Blue waited for some time, then picked her communicator and called. "Starlight, Atlas, where are you two?" but unluckily, the signal couldn't reach Starlight, and there was no answer from Atlis. A white transparent earth pony appeared. "Why have you gathered?" It asked, all members of the expedition growing worried. "We are missing two ponies. Starlight and Atlas, can you tell me where are they?" Blue asked "Starlight is currently having a 'time out', for bursting out." it answered in a motherly tone. "And Atlas?" Blue asked but got no answer. "And Atlas?" She asked again after a while of silence, but again there was no answer. "... What is the population of the city?" She asked out of nowhere. "The city is currently inhabited by 49 registered entries." The chilling answer send shivers over Blue's body, and the rest of the expedition didn't feel much better.
Tundra seemed on the verge of bursting into laughter as he heard the AI's response to where Starlight was, though the delayed response about Atlas quickly ended his rather humored expression, particularly when the population of the city had declined by one pony. "Guess we're gonna eventually have to find him....or what's left anyways...." he half mumbled before looking at the AI again, spending a moment thinking before speaking. "Starlight I think has some sort of anger management issue, would it be possible to let her out and let an AI give her some anger management assistance later?" He tried to negotiate, unsure if the AI would really go with it or not, wouldn't hurt to try anyways, even if only to tell her to just calm down for a while.
Starlight sat on the bed and groaned "I'm not a filly..."
Cosmic was out and about after only about 4 hours at most of sleep. When the order came over the communicator he went to see what was up. he had learned allot about the language the night before.
((Need to know what Cosmic picked up besides the basics.))
Cosmic listened and when he heard 49 not 50 he looks at the AI and say, "Ok that just isn't right. There were 50 of us who came here. I knew something was off. You also seam to always ignore questions that seam important. If you think of us as children, then educating us on the clearance system would have been part of what raising a 'Child' would have entailed." Cosmic's I told ya so look reached Blue as he gave her a glance.
A horrific beast-like roar emitted from the communicators, followed by sounds of thumping. "I'll be right there..." Saiko moaned after roaring. He packs up a few items into his saddle bag before meeting Blue and Tundra in the residential area. His eyes were slightly drooped and he was carrying around a flask containing a black liquid. "Morning," he yawned and took a few sips of the flask.
Blue was crushed at the moment, they weren't there even a full day and already she lost a member of the expedition. And Cosmic's look didn't help the matter one bit. "I'm afraid that i can't release her until her time up is over. As for anger management, we do have a few programs she can take when her punishment is over." Blue stepped forward. "Can't i take the punishment for her?" she asked. "Why?" The AI retorted with a question of her own. "Because, as the leader, i am responsible of every member of the expedition." She gave the AI an determined look, after a long stare down the AI nodded."Alright, go to your room if you really want to take over." It stated and disappeared. "Every one concentrate on the library, finish learning the language and find out everything you can. And what ever you do, stick together" She walked off to her room, the door behind her closing shut, and Starlights door opening.
Starlight watched the door and galloped out, she also gave herself a quick injection of something. "Hey Guys! Uhm... Can we leave this place? I don't like it." she called.
Tundra shifted his stance a little as the roar came from the communicators, not showing any surprise if he was surprised by the sudden loud noise. "Morning, it seems we don't have Atlas anymore, and Cosmic, what do you mean it views us as foals? Wait...that would explain the playground yesterday..." He said, finishing almost in a mumble before blinking as Blue walked into her room and Starlight came out. "If you mean the city, no, it's impossible right now and I doubt I could set up a teleport rune as I have no idea what the distance is. Also Blue took your punishment for you, you should work on your anger issues, anyways we should head to the library to look into the language some more."
"Wha..." Starlight muttered.
Cosmic says, "Well I caught a bit of that from the way everything seamed to be guided for us. it also seams very likely to out right ignore certain questions. I ask about the clearance system and The AIs will say nothing. Then this stuff with Atlis as well. Lets do as blue said and learn as much as we can. The sooner I can figure out this Technology the soon there may be a chance for us to get this place under a semblance of understanding."
Cosmic is quick to return to the library. he goes into language starting and then into recent history and finally if able he delves into the technology use to create just about everything. Despite what many may think Cosmic is able to stay awake working on something for up to 3 days before rest would seam a requirement for him.
Tundra sighed. "Blue took your punishment as she felt she was responsible for the squad's actions, which means that YOU are hindering her from studying this place's language or doing much of anything, if you spend the time she so generously gave you outside the room by napping I will personally slam you from wall to wall so you won't be able to leave the room for a week!" He said, ending almost in a shout as he was rather annoyed already, morning grumpiness not quite out of his system.
Not long afterwards Tundra also entered the library, immediately heading over to his notes and resuming his studies of the language, though more making minor corrections than anything else as he didn't have more literature to use for studying it, he did seem to be writing quite a long list over weapons though.
Starlight frowned. "AI, Blue shouldn't take my punishment, however I still don't think treating us like foals will help you considering our age..."
(( Okay, let me try this again... ))
Panacea had been scouring around the new, curious medical area, fairly tired after staying awake most of the night. A feeling of anxiety had struck her a little while ago, keeping her awake. She had already organized all of the medicines and equipment she had managed to bring along, and was now searching for any medical technology of the city's that may have been in the medical area.
A white earth pony appeared in front of Starlight. "All blue clearance are treated the same." it simply stated.
A changeling of the expedition shouted. "Hey, i found something." He walked to Cosmic and Tundra and shown them a book, the main odd thing about it was that it was hoof written, not printed like the other ones. From what you can understand of the writing thus far you can tell it is a personal journal.
Panacea found what she thought was the storage room, but it was an orange area.
Cosmic says, "This is a journal of some sort. maybe it can tell us some things. Ready to have a look at it with me tundra?"
Starlight frowned at the avatar... "Can you explain why we are blue clearance?"
Tundra looked up from his studies as the changeling approached, unlike most ponies he didn't really mind changelings, he even had made a rune or two that their kind could store energy in more efficiently. The journal interested him quite a bit and he too was rather curious of it's contents. "Yeah, I'm rather interested in what this could tell us, also I might snag a word or two from that that I've missed while doing so." He responded while looking at the book with a hint of excitement in his face.
(Seeing as Tundra has done a lot of research and is going for a full understanding of the language he shouldn't have too much trouble reading the thing, maybe have to guess on a couple words, other than that I think he should do decent.)
The earth pony paused, feeling it would be a bad idea to investigate further. After a few moments of thinking, she thought that perhaps it would truly be a bad idea. Panacea returned to where she was stationed in the tent, occasionally looking over to the orange area.
"Every new registered entry starts blue." The AI said.
The journal you will find that was kept by one of the technicians responsible for the AIs. You do not understand the journal nearly as much as you'd wish, do to the horrible hoofwriting. On the last pages though the same words keeps repeating. "error" "bug" "hacked" "sabotage?"
Cosmic nods and says, "Ok. So something went wrong with the system. This is going to have to be told to blue. She did chose to take starlight's place and right now that may be a bad thing, if this 'bug' in the system is still active."
Being a technician himself cosmic seams to understand what the one who wrote the journal is trying to portray. and decides to look up books within the blue area only about how to increase in the clearance system.
Starlight decided to try get into another room following a blue line, yet turning at a different colour... "Something isn't right here...
Tundra frowned as he read the last few pages, the hoofwriting seeming particularly bad there as he could hardly make out the words aside from the occasional ones, he got a really bad feeling about it though, leaning a little towards Cosmos to whisper to him. "Gonna assumed "bugged" means not behaving as they should, this could be really bad if we don't find out what exactly this error is." He said before returning to finalizing his studies, while he couldn't help much with the issue himself due to his lacking technological knowledge he could at least learn the language even better to see if he could help translating.
M.I.A. appears in Blue's room, which surprised her as she didn't call for any of the AI.
"Is something wrong?" She asked and stood up from her resting place. In front of M.I.A. a golden bracelet appeared, she didn't speak, just stared creepily.
Upon reading more entries of those you can at least partially complete you found out that the AI core is in a red area, in a upper part of the city, in what resembled a castle from the description provided. It also talked about a "new interface", something that was to connect the technicians to the AIs core directly, but specification were vague.

Suddenly, the door to the orange area opened.
Cosmic shakes his head going back over to the others and says, "Any luck on your end of things Tundra? The only thing on clearance in this entire blue section is only the blue section material. Not even an understanding of how one can increase their clearance standing."
Panacea was surprised at the sudden opening of the door. She stood up, carefully stepping towards it, attempting to get a peek inside of the room. Maybe it's a trap... She thought, but she wondered what was inside the door.
The room was dark, but you can make up what looks like medical equipment.
((I may be dropping out. My schedule just means I miss so much. D: ))
(Timezones makes some RPs excessively difficult to follow, is all there is to it really.)
Tundra looked back up from his notes and at Cosmic, looking a little worried. "No, just been working on perfecting my understanding of the language, still a ways to go but I shouldn't be too far away from understanding it." He said while stepping over to Cosmic and giving him a light nudge with his hoof, leaving an almost invisible rune there. "There, I set up a telepathic rune between us just so we don't risk the thing hearing us, just think of what you want to say and I'll hear it. Anyways have you found anything more about that "bug" or whatever it was called is? The source might be mentioned in a latter journal or something similar if you've found one"
(Telepathic rune, creates a telepathic connection between the caster and whoever the rune is on, in this case Cosmic, can be traced magically but can't be listened in on and has a very discreet signature, is fragile though.)
Starlight decided to enter a higher clearance room, wondering what the AI would do about it.
"Hmm..." Panacea hummed quietly, stepping in and foolishly reaching for the equipment, hoping to salvage something.
Cosmic thinks, "To be honest with you I think something bad happened. it could have been more then a bug in the system. if this new integration system is what I think it may be. We might have a new problem on our hooves if one of us gets hit by it. If you see anything out of the ordinary with anypony and they have a piece of tech they may not have had before, let me know and try to get them to me so I can analyze the tech quickly. So nothing I have learned pertains to anything written in the journal. By the way would you mind helping me with a project later. It may help incase of future incidents like what happened with Atlis. I am not going to use the stuff from this place until I find out what the bug is and how to counter it." cosmic physically goes back to learning the language. He glances to tundra before thinking, "Your right, this may be a good thing, but I think a stronger rune would be more adequate. Something that can stand a beating or two before giving out."
As soon as Starlight puts her hoof down in a yellow area door, which was the first she found a red griffon appeared. "This area is restricted, if you proceed you shall be removed and punished." it simply stated.
The same red griffon appeared in front of Panacea, with the same line. "This area is restricted, if you proceed you shall be removed and punished."

The communicators come to life and Blue's voice was heard. "The door is now open, i'll be joining you in the library soon."
Panacea was as surprised as to fall on her back. She crawled backwards and out of the room, standing up quickly. The red griffon, presumably some kind of artificial intelligence, had shocked her by its sudden appearance. Without speaking a word to it, or anyone else, she trotted back to where she was seated.
Tundra continued with his studies while listening to Cosmic, this was something he found rune magic rather handy for, one could have a conversation that was practically impossible to trace, ofcourse it did make a huge mess of extra security measures come into place everywhere once discovered but he still it worth it, the comment about maybe making a stronger rune made Tundra grin slightly. "The charm with this rune is the difficulty in tracing it since it uses a very faint and spread out flow of magic, if I made it more durable the connection would be easier to discover though. And I will keep an eye out for that, you do too, it's likely something simple-looking like a bracelet, horn ring or similar so be careful, and I would also be happy to help in this project of yours, despite my fairly high rank among rune users I haven't really had the chance to use it in cooperation with others over tools or similar. He replied telepathically while correcting a few more of his notes, even going over a book or two that he felt he hadn't looked at properly.
Starlight frowned at the griffon, moving her mechanical hoof through it.
"Define 'punishment'"

"In range of 'time out' to 'termination', the core will decide."
A few minutes go by and Blue enters the library, trotting to Cosmic and Tundra.
"Before you ask, can one of you tell me what the fluff is this?" She asked and showed them a golden horseshoe extended to a bracelet with white crystal welded into it on her hoof.
Cosmic Analyses the bracelet and the horseshoe quickly. He tests for everything from possible bugs in the programing to hardware glitches. He even runs a full systematic diagnostic on the devise.
((Cosmic is trying to figure everything he can about it out and quickly. if something has the system bugged he needs to figure a counter for it.))
Starlight gave an annoyed huff and turned to leave, but her weapon swing into her eye and misfired! The magic bolt blinding her left eye!
"Ahh!" Starlight yelled, falling to the floor.
Tundra looked up from his mass of notes and at the strange bracelet, looking at it for a moment before getting up and trotting closer to Blue, a small rune lighting up under his cloak as he put a thin barrier around his legs just in case Blue would try to put it on him by surprise, safe to say he was a bit paranoid towards it. "Not a clue, looks like some sort of device using magic or somesuch and the crystal is either a catalyst or used to connect to something." He replied while looking at the thing, tossing a telepathic note to Cosmic."Don't touch it and don't let Blue get too close with it, better safe than sorry."
Blue just sighed and let Cosmic 'jump around' her hoof. She rested her head on her other hoof and spoke.
"It doesn't want to go off, seems to be connected to my neural system. But i have no idea what it does." Blue explained her medical take on the device.

((Cosmic is trying to figure everything he can about it out and quickly. if something has the system bugged he needs to figure a counter for it.))
From cosmic's analysis the device is very similar to the described "new interface", though it seemed inactive, perhaps out of power.

Starlight gave an annoyed huff and turned to leave, but her weapon swing into her eye and misfired! The magic bolt blinding her left eye!
"Ahh!" Starlight yelled, falling to the floor.
A griffon walks over to Starlight and notices her being injured, he picks her up and flies with her to the medical area, to where Panacea was stationed at.

((in case of any missunderstanding, the bracelet/horseshoe is one object and is firmly stuck to Blue's left hoof.))
(Yeah, sorry about that, can't really edit very well since I'm on the phone now though.)
Tundra waited for Cosmic to finish before he started, drawing a rune seemingly in the air right next to the bracelet, activating the scanning rune to try to detect any magical constructions or spells that were on it.
When she arrived at the medical room Starlight's injuries severity became apparent. She had blown a hole in her eye, and it would need a prothstetic replacement.
"It hurts..."
Tundra's analysis shows a highly complex spell matrix in place, which utilizes runes as well as various other magic forms. The nature of the spell matrix is unclear because of its complexity. It is inactive though.
Cosmic thinks to tundra, "It the interface device described in the journal. it seams to be without power right now but I think I know where it goes."
cosmic looks to blue and says, "Have you tried touching this to any of the circle shapes we have been seeing around most of this place? If I am not mistaken it seams to connect to something. But as far as I know it is also without power. I would suggest that until we can further analyze a hoof written item we found, that you don't try to power the device at any given time."
He analyzes the device further before turning back into his tool kit and pulling out another device. In a way, it looks to be similar to the design of the one worn by blue but with a few major differences. this one has a screen in it and no horse shoe. Cosmic begins to work on it frantically while looking again at the one on blue's hoof. When he is done, his device now has the horse shoe like part but the color still doesn't match. He says, "How did you get that blue? You didn't have it when you took starlight's place."
cosmic thinks to tundra, "ok the device I have is similar but also different then the one on blue's hoof. mine functions as a personal computer and interface system. I wasn't able to finish it because I didn't have the needed final touches. because mine wasn't made here it shouldn't be affected by the glitch within this system. I am also going to install a counter infiltration program, just incase something does try to enter my device. It would be blocked access from the devices separate systems. I am also going to place mine on the opposite hoof as hers just incase I can get one of these for myself. If it is the interface device for the system here we might have an advantage by having mine be a separate system. What do you think Tundra?"
"Well, M.I.A. gave it to me. She made it clear that i pretty much don't have a choice." Blue explained and then tilted her head. "Oh, you think i can control the portal with this? Are you sure we shouldn't do a test or something? Just saying."
((Grizzly, I'm still waiting forth medical avatar's help.))
((i know, i wanted to give coffee rush a chance to interact with you.))
As the griffon carrying Starlight reached the medical area, a white earth pony appeared. It seemed like it knew what was going on already and instructed to take Starlight into a bed hovering in air. "Do not move now." It said to Starlight and the bed started to emit streams of glowing dots, which slowly made its way to Starlights damaged eye, she could feel a warmth in her eye.
Cosmic informs blue about the possibility of a bug or glitch in the main core system. he says, "The main core is in a red zone higher up. something went wrong and the system malfunctioned. We need to find out how to gain clearance to it to even be able to chat with the main core." Cosmic lets his words sink in a bit before saying, "AI, may I ask a question? What is the primary function of this hoof mounted device."
Cosmic points to the device on blue's hoof to indicate the one he speaks of. he also straps the device he finished on to his hoof opposite to the one on blue's hoof, thus activating the link system and powering the device.
((Cosmic's device is bound to his hoof. only by severing his hoof can the device be removed. Cosmic is also ready to defend his creation at any cost.))
Starlight did as she was told, trying to hold back tears of agony.
Tundra was amazed by the complexity of the matrix, with so many forms of spells used in it he had difficulties even recognizing part of it due to it's complexity, he quickly rushed to his notes and scribbled down a description of the spell matrix, making a pencil practically catch fire twice while doing so before he finished writing. "[I]Sounds useful, I assume you need some runes for it to function though, yes? Anyways Blue should be safe for now, there's no hidden magical storage in it, we should stay clear of any punishments by the AI though as it might use that as an excuse to get one on us. The spell matrix used in it is more complicated than anything I've seen and I'm afraid I can't discern the purpose without a lot of work, if you plan to get one of those I would reccomend you keep it well clear of any runes, also stay clear from my room too, my active runes might accidentally charge it too.[/i]" Tundra informed Cosmic while he kept looking at his rather complicated notes and drawings of and about the strange matrix.

"Of course." The AI nodded and a flash took Starlight away, she appeared in her bed.
Starlight took her gear off, put her weapon in her desk and fell asleep.
((Gotta get some shut eye, cya))
Cosmic thought, "Hey tundra, besides the telepathic rune you put on me. Are there other kinds of runes that can be use say with what you mentioned earlier about the spell matrix. I am thinking something along the lines of control. She did say that the device was a control and interface system. I don't think the control part was for us alone either. As for runes I had the teacher help me put in the necessary spell matrix and power containment matrix, as well as a few other matrix for future add-ons. If you want to add runes to the placed matrixes, I wouldn't mind but I must tell you my device is now on my hoof till I wish it to come off or I lose my hoof. can you handle that?"
Cosmic asks, "Is there a book or way to learn more about the interface system? Like what can one do with it and how one would acquire such a system."
"Thank you very much..." Panacea said, picking one up. She opened it to the first page, not being bothered by the fact that it was made for foals.
"There is a manual available at the third floor." The AI answered. "Let me guess, no access." Blue asked sarcastically. "Not for blue clearance, no. But you may access it. Your clearance is now yellow." Blue just stared for a while Finally a lucky break? "Alright, how did that happen?" She asked, but got no answer.
cosmic smiles and pieces together from what had happened and says, "I think I know how, blue. It happened in a way from the fact that you took responsibility for the team's actions. You proved you are not something of a child and gained your next clearance stage. Would I be correct in my assumption, AI? The system decided she was ready for the next clearance stage."
"That is correct." The AI nodded.
Tundra continued studying his notes about the matrix relentlessly, enamored with how advanced it was and how itmelded different kinds of magic, he still listened in on what happened though, used to multitasking like this. "Yes there are several runes related to control, though the ones related to direct physical or mental control over others are extremely complex and require vast amounts of power if used for prolonged periods as it contends directly with the magical power of the victim. And the device should be no problem, I might be able to improve upon some of the runes already in it while I add in the ones you want." He again said telepathically while listening to the conversation. "So you judge by character rather than knowledge or power? Makes sense I guess." He said out loud, his musings more directed at the AI.

"So... why didn't you explain that earlier?" Blue asked and gave a meaningful look.
"Explaining it directly would give you a chance to cheat."
Starlight listened o Ln her communicator having woken up recently. "AI, please direct me to the library.
Tundra just continued to pour over his notes while the AI talked, the only indication that he was listening being his ear swiveling towards the AI. At this point he was about as far as he could get with his language studies without higher clearances for the library, the AI's mention of that it could give a chance to cheat made him chuckle though. "Heh, at this point it's more about getting the opportunity to prove so..."

(( I don't know if you saw this or not, but could I get a little clarification about what is in the book? ))
((sure, sorry))
Panacea saw pictures of various equipment and sick ponies drawn in a very foal friendly manner, with just a few words that she couldn't read.
(( It's alright. ^-^ ))
Panacea hummed quietly, trying to make out the order of things. She studied each page with equal concentration, intrigued by the book. It was slightly frustrating that the book was made for foals and she couldn't understand it, but the earth pony didn't let that bother her.
Cosmic listens to the Ai and then says, in his best attempt to use language that he is learning, "Are there any rules we should know about?" his eagerness to learn in general seams to only be matched by his eagerness to learn about technology.
"Most important rule is do as you are told." the AI answered calmly.
"Well, if i have yellow clearance, i can go to the upper floor of the library, but can i take someone with me? Someone who's blue clearance?" Blue asked slyly.
"Indeed. You may take one blue clearance citizen with you, but you will be responsible for their actions and well being." the AI explained.
cosmic nods confirming his acknowledgement of her words he remains quiet letting his device take all the information he gains down into its storage system. ((neural link for accepting information is open. only by direct contact from Cosmic can the device gain new information, unless cosmic adds it himself via the link or by hoof or wing in his case.))
"Ha thats going to be very hard" places the book into his room and contiunes to walk forword "AI does this place happen to have a armoury by chance?"
((sorry about that))
((malpewood: could you please use at least "this" for when your character talks and this for thinking? Caue now i have no idea what you did in your post))
((maybe I can help grizzly. The first part of the post, u[ to the word hard, is probably thought. the last part, from the word AI, is probably spoken. the middle, the part between the words hard and AI, being character actions.))

((yeah, does look like it, thanks))
((your welcome. BTW Cosmic is waiting for Blue to chose who goes with her. he is not going to try and sway her into choosing him.))
I sigh "of course it is and how long would it take to earn that level?" I start to look around waiting for the answer

Blue nods and walks to the stairs, up the stairs and into the third floor. Once there she stares in awe, the third floor was indeed huge. It seemed like the ceiling was at least 20 meters above them, there were huge windows and wide open spaces and corridors all over the place. Books were stocked along the walls up to the ceiling in book shelves, as well as other books shelves around. It looked like a maze, and a bit confusing, but there was a terminal almost everywhere. The red griffon AI appears. "Welcome to the library, how may i assist you?" it asks.
"Thank you again." Panacea began walking, hoping she wouldn't be needed at the medical area later. When she arrived at Residential Area C, she picked a random room, and stepped inside. The earth pony looked around, making herself acquainted with it.
The room was, as were all the rooms, a medium size with a bed by the wall, a small window and what looked like cabinets, but with no visible way to open them.
Panacea walked over to the window, briskly peaking into it before laying down onto the bed, making herself comfortable. Perhaps being trapped here isn't so bad she thought, figuring the door would close and the lights would go out. It seemed much better than the brief, restless nights she had while working in Manehattan.
Cosmic looks around in awe as well. he had never seen so many book before. He knows that right now only Blue is able to access this area and says, "Blue may I ask? You are the one with clearance to be here and I think it best to ask first then to just do as I wish." Cosmic has that learning gleam in his eyes, like a calm stallion about to hit the books for a collage exam.
Tundra smirked and gave a nonchelant wave as Blue and Cosmic left for the third floor of the library, quickly sending a thought of confirmation through the telepathic link, not even bothering to shape it up as words as he sorted his language notes a bit into a more manageable pile for anyone to read, then he went back to studying the notes he'd made on that complicated matrix, fascinated by it as he worked on figuring out just what each little section of the matrix did both from memory and replicating the tiny portions on paper before activating them.

After studying your notes about the matrix you are starting to understand its complex nature, you discover that it is a fluid structure, all parts have many functions that come to play when used with different parts.
Tundra continued to study the complex matrix in whatever ways he could think of, almost emitting a rather uncharacteristic squee a few times as he couldn't help but feel excited about learning more about the matrix and learn from it, the only thing keeping him from practically isolating him with the notes being the nagging thought about the errors mentioned earlier and if anything in the massively complex matrix was to blame.
(Essentially he's looking for anything to do with conciousness, soul, mind or similar in the matrix, though with the complexity of the thing it'll probably take him a while to discover anything revealing so no need to reveal earlier than you feel like him suddenly noticing it.)
Cosmic asks the griffon, "Where would I find books on Quantum mechanics and Spell matrixes? Also are there any books on advanced learning for language development?"
((Cosmic is a Quantum Engineer by trade and mastery, master builder/inventor by hobby. He is also wanting to get a better understanding of complicated spell matrixes for Tundra. but he doesn't make that known.
BTW from now on I will use this little part for the mental communications between Cosmic and tundra using bold text to define Cosmic's chatting with Tundra. This will make things easier on both of us.))

Cosmic thought is would be better to keep track for his rank based on the color of his device. just incase the one he eventually gets doesn't change color.))
Blue turns her head to Cosmic, but her hoof continued its path to the terminal. "Yeah, i don't think i should be messing with it until i read the..." her hoof touched the terminal without her realizing, she turns her head to a humming sound emitting from the device on her hoof, the crystal changed color from white to yellow. "...manual." she finished what she wanted to say and pulled her hoof away from the terminal. She looks at the device. "Alright... this is weird..." she whispers and look around, she saw various visions and hear various sounds, confusing and scary.
Cosmic had finished his scanning learning run and had returned to Blue. When her hoof touched the device he watched the white crystal turn yellow. He knew that it marked her status. he asks, "Are you ok, blue?" He thinks to tundra, "Hey Tundra we have a serious problem. The device has been activated." cosmic looks concerned for his friend and expedition partner.
Cosmic is also learning everything scanned on the topics of spell matrixes and their applications to technological devices.
Blue closes her eyes and puts her hoof down, turning to Cosmic. "Intruder detected, sending machina to intercept." She said in a very robotic fashion.
In other parts of the city a strange event just happened, a random portal spat out another pony! (your cue, Naura!)
Cosmic asks the AI, "May I know what has happened to my friend Blue?"

"She has become a part of the core now." the AI explained.
"Wha- what core? Where am I?" The lime mare says and starts to panic.
The two oval shapes unfold into large bypedal machines carrying cannon like objects instead of arms. "Do not move, you will now be scanned." Naura gets surrounded by a bright light, which causes minor pain to her, but she finds herself unable to move. After a few seconds Naura is released. and M.I.A., a white transparent alicorn, appears "Welcome to Atala." it states and Blue walks away.
"What? Atala? What is this?" Naura keeps panic and looks around where she is, then at the white alicorn again.
"What?"
Blue was followed by the two large machines and Cosmic out of the library and to a higher part of the city, to a red zone. Noone stopped Cosmic, so he could only assume that until Blue says otherwise he can follow her.

"What? Atala? What is this?" Naura keeps panic and looks around where she is, then at the white alicorn again.
"What?"
"This is Atala, our great city." M.I.A. showed a light projection of a large city, described in many legends. "I am M.I.A., Meeting Intelligence Avvatar."
Cosmic follows Blue. His worry for her would out weigh any punishment they could give him. He asks, "Are you telling me she has become part of a larger system?" cosmic watches looking around just incase he needs to make a mad dash for a blue zone. for now his concern for blue is still greater. Any thing he says as of this point anything he hears is automatically sent to Tundra.
"That is correct. I am now part of the core, which controls the entire city." Blue said in a robotic tone, then mumbled a few thing. "Energy levels optimal. Scanning city. No thread discovered. Maintenance machina to sector D. Sector C and E flooded, converting to red area."
cosmic got just a tad curious, "Can I speak with the core on a more direct setting? I am a quantum engineer. To be honest with you I made the device on my right hoof."
"You already are speaking to the core, i am the core, the core is me." Blue talked in circles for a few moments before mumbling more organisation stuff.
Cosmic thought for a moment and then says, "You said sectors c and e were flooded, right? You do know if this whole city gets flooded, all your new citizens would drown. If you would allow me, I could help with the repairs needed to be able to keep those areas stable and get all the water out. It is what I do after all."
"That is not needed." Blue simply stated, they walked in a huge circular room now, with a red sphere in the middle. "Sector D, lost contact, isolating nearby areas." She whispered and her expression grew from empty to worried.
"Wha? Can I get a room? I really need to rest" Naura says and rubs her head.
"Also, you got any food?" She ends the sentence and stares at M.I.A.
Cosmic asks, "Is there anything I can do to help? You seam to be worried about something." Cosmic looks around taking all there was to see. there are clear signs of a mana type surge building within him. but the surge fades as quickly as it had appeared.
((Cosmic's Passive Pegasus Magic is tuned to technology. The closer he is to a great source of technology, the stronger his mana signature becomes. You can think of cosmic like a technopath. This explains why he has such an advanced learning skill. his abilities are low class right now because he isn't awakened to the power yet. also because his mana is passive mana not active mana.))
"Nearby areas secured, deploying core extension." Blue turned to Cosmic. "You wish to come too? We don't know what's happening there, you can die. If you want to go, you must overtake responsibility for yourself." She said and offered Cosmic her hoof.
cosmic says, "Sure but I need to ask one thing first. Do you know what Active Pegasus Magic is?" Cosmic take the hoof offered.
"When this is finished we can talk about that." Blue said, and a flash of bright white light surrounded them. They appeared in a dark hallway, with a closed off door on one end and a blinking light at the other.
cosmic reaches into his bag and pulls out his trusty engineer's wrench. It looks to be a wrench when one first glances at it but upon further inspection there is an electrical charge running through it. cosmic is holding it by a rubber handle. "Ok lets see what's wrong." he also pulls out a set of goggles and puts them on.
((The wrench is like a electrical weapon and the goggles grant a form of adjusting dark vision thermal vision and energy signature reading vision.))
Blue walks to a terminal and presses her left hoof on it, trying to activate it. "This sector is the engine room, very dangerous, be careful." Blue whispered.
Cosmic says, "Then this is my kind of place. I know to be very careful when working around machines." Once again the surge happens. This time it sticks around for a whole micro second before vanishing. Longer then it did when it was first detectable.
"How well do you understand the quantum momentum theory?" She asked growled a bit as the terminal wasn't reacting. She walked to another terminal and pressed her hoof on it.
The device reacts but not noticeably and cosmic suddenly gives a near text book reiteration of the theory, "Does that answer your question? it was basic for Quantum Mechanics back in college." cosmic touches his right hoof to the panel and seams to focus for a moment before saying, "It seams the main and secondary connections to this terminal has been severed."
((Cosmic's memory is stored in the device now. The matrixes he had in it have began to link to his neural network and evolve, but his mind seams to be the presence in charge of the network.))
"That is sufficient." Blue walks to a third terminal. "We will have to activate the motors for energy. One mistake and we may end up anywhere in the multiverse."
He nods and says, "Is that why there is flooding? With out the power the area sinks." cosmic helps out by testing for connectivity. He makes sure to not do anything that would activate the system. he runs a diagnostics on the panels to see why they aren't working. He also scans around for energy signatures that are not right for a quantum generator system or any other kind of quantum based device.
"That is correct." Blue simply said but not revealing anything more. The third terminal was active and Blue turned on the lights.
Your energy scan reveals nothing out of what you would find in a quantum based device.
"This way." Blue walks deeper into the section, until they arrive at a circular panel with many screens, yet only two active. "Stay here and watch the levels." Blue pointed to one screen and walked to the other.
Cosmic watches the screen. He seams to follow the patterns and If he got anything new from the books about this engine device, he makes sure to put it to good use.
Readings on both screens were fluctuating, but within acceptable parameters. "Alright, initiate engine start in 3... 2... 1..." Blue counted off and then pressed the sequence in the screen, Cosmic was supposed to do the same when the count reached 0.
Cosmic pushed in the sequence when the count hit zero. He kept one eye on the levels and one eye to the start up to make sure Things went off without a problem. another surge built up in him. This one lasting a whole second before fading. It seams to have had no impact on the start up.
The entire city shook as the engines came to life.
((have to go now, sorry))
"AI? What's going on, why is the city shaking?'" Starlight asked worried.
Suddendly everything starts to shake.
"BWAAAAAAH" Naura screams as she bounces around on the floor next to M.I.A.
Cosmic waits for the engine's start up to finish before saying, "There is one thing left to do. Find out why this happened and prevent it from happening again." Cosmic looks to Blue/The Core as if waiting for them.
Blue's robotic like voice was heard all over the city. "Everyone remain calm and return to your rooms." She said as the city violently shook.
Blue's eyes were going all over the place, now that she is connected she sees every and all sensor readings the city has. "T-This can't be right..." She whispered
Cosmic looks back to his monitor. He says, "What's wrong? Lights were all green the moment we started up the engines."
"The engines are running as they should be, but the moment they went on more sections started to flood..." She said worried with a worried look and worked on.
cosmic looks over his monitor and says, "May I have a full readout of the quantum sequencing charts please? I am going to try something a little bit on the daring side. If this works I might be able to get us hovering and get the water out at the same time." Cosmic, using his hoof mounted device, taps into his monitor connecting himself to the system.
Blue provided the read out Cosmic requested. "We need to resurface."
Cosmic begins his daring plan. he re-sequences all available output systems to function on a twin band quantum system. After that he initiates the main drive system with a 2% power flow. Using the quantum drive like an anti gravity field he focuses all available engines to push all pressure downwards to cause the lift ratio to increase by 22%.
After which he says, "Open all secondary external ports with a energy field pulse of 50%. that should get the water out. Our weight is to much for the original anti grave sequences to work. so I increased the lift ratio by 22%. I am also using the main quantum drive at a flow of 2% to give the needed power for the energy pulse. This should give us the extra anti grave ratio we need to resurface and get the main shield systems to stand by. On my mark activate the outer shield grid."
Cosmic reroutes some of the main drive's excess power to the main shield system, priming it. He waits a few moments for confirmation and for lift to start happening. There also seams to be a large energy spike coming from cosmic. It seams most of what he is doing he isn't moving any of his limbs to do. it is like his mind itself has tapped directly into the input system.
Starlight ignored the warning and instead switched her helmet to '0-oxygen mode' and her helmet suddenly covered her mouth and a pair of translucent glowing green glass covered her eyes. Meanwhile her armor began covering her entire body.
Tundra didn't even seem to notice that the entire place was shaking until it made his stacks of notes start falling over, drawing out a sigh from the earth pony as he saw this and reshuffled his notes before walking out into the hallway and looking around, somewhat worried over the source of the shaking.
Awoken by the violent shaking of the entire city, Panacea rolled out of her bed. She stumbled to the one and only window in the room, tiredly peaking out of it to see, if she could, what was going on.
At first, there was nothing to see outside the window. But then the city lighted up, and Panacea, and everyone looking outside, could see that the cit was under water.
Blue prepared to raise the outer shields as told.
Tundra peeked out a nearby window, seeming quite surprised that the city had been underwater this entire time, it also worried him greatly as he thought it related to the shaking earlier. His magic welling up inside of him just in case he would have to do something fast, backpedaling into the library's entrance while glancing down either hallway and listening closely for any signs.
Cosmic continues to monitor the lift ratio. he was triple checking the quick calculations to make sure that the system was running as he needed it. Had the water been pushed out. what Atala ascending? How long before surface breach? Was his grave field holding? These were the questions running threw his mind.
Threw the link Cosmic says to Tundra, 'Tundra, what is the matrix equation for a quantum anti-gravity singularity? We are underneath the water's surface.
I may need you to focus one about 50 ft. below your current location. We need lift for the city. We are taking on water and Blue has been integrated with the city's core. The being controlling everything. The device was a direct core link up. I am doing what I can from one of the engine rooms in the red zone. But I will probably need that matrix at the ready just incase the lift I have tried implementing with a quantum anti grave field isn't enough.'
"Sector L, leak detected... That's the library..." Blue whispered.
A loud cracking noise was heard from the upper levels of the library. The heavy door leading to the library shut closed and its clearance turned red.
Starlight paused. "This isn't right."
Tundra froze as he heard the cracking noise from the upper levels, the door closing only confirmed his suspiciouns that this was REALLY bad. He immediately headed upwards in the library, right now he didn't give a
Read the forum rules. about clearances as long as he could keep the whole place from drowning and it's current occupants with him.
(He's heading upwards till he sees water or a leak basically.)
Cosmic says to the core, "Please activate the internal shield covor the city. We can let any water get in. Initializing force fields over all sections of the library. All books contained with their selves have been force fielded. I am sorry if I have over stepped my area of clearance, but I am trying to save not only the lives but the city itself. I will accept any responsibility for what comes next. raising power flow of the main quantum drive to 5%. Increasing reverse graviton fields to pressure zones 5 and 10 by another 2%."
It is at this time Blue/The Core can see visible runes start to cover Cosmic's body. the core can also detect that he has also connected to several minor field systems all within the areas where the citizens are.
over the com system within the blue area and library Cosmic's voice is heard, "To all expedition units and new arrivals, please brace yourselves for emergency gravity shift. The pressure in the areas that show flooding will shift towards an exit port to remove the water in that area. you may feel a sudden change in air pressure."
cosmic realigns the gravity emitters to shift from center point outward towards vent port leading to contained areas for water removal.
"Redirecting energy..." Blue did as she said and checked a few more things. "A micro volt higher and we'll go into an uncontrolled quantum leap..."
cosmic say, "I won't increase it any further. we have all we need we may need. I may rely on an outer matrix for the extra boost if we need it."
Over the com, "Tundra I need that matrix. how long before you can get it ready?"
Tundra arrived at the fourth floor of the library, a yellow clearance floor, just in time to see the internal shields halt the leak, making him smirk in relief, then he heard Cosmic's request, it having been delayed a little by all that was going on. Tundra hardly wasted any time, quickly calculating to compensate for moving up so many floors before he closed his eyes and focused, any sensors in the area easily picking up his magic as he focused it into a rune matrix just like what cosmic was asking for, it took a little while but he was almost finished by the time Cosmic asked. "Nice timing, I'm finishing it just about......now!" He replied through the telepathic rune, the flow of magic from him disrupting the signal slightly as he finished the matrix, then poured his power into it, the stallion sweating profusely as he continued powering up the matrix, taking quite the load off the core's efforts to keep the city stabilized.
Starlight felt the change in air pressure, and it caused her to become nauseous, she however shook it of and further increased her armors protection. She also aided other expedition crew to the civilian district.
The city was now half way to the surface. The city's sensors detecting Tundra's magic and classified it as a threat. "Threat detected, engage. Terminate..." Blue mumbled and backed, holding her eyes shut. "No, i wont let you..." she mumbled some more. "Clearance violated during code red, heavy crime punished by death." She mumbled on. "He's trying to help, disengage!" she was arguing with herself, or so it would seem.
Tundra continued pouring power into the matrix for a little bit before stopping before it would get unstable, almost collapsing as he now focused his efforts on keeping the giant matrix that helped the city upwards from exploding, something that tended to be particularly nasty if his magic was involved. "This is as much as I can do...trust me, you do not want it to overload." He said telepathically to Cosmic, his voice through the link wavering a little as the massive powerdrain was both disorienting and tiring.
In the residential area, as Starlight helped the last member of the expedition in his room, all doors shut closed, as well as the corridors. She was the only one left outside, and unluckily the city had no more power to spear for internal shields. A ominous cracking sound was heard and a second later sea water started to flood the floor.
((there, Starlight, as you wished.))
Cosmic looks to the core and says, "If you kill him, you will have to kill me and then this city will sink. I have all we need to save the city. Please for your own life City Core, forget the clearance stuff for now. We need to work together on this or we all will die. I also said that I would take responsibility for what came next. The city is raising, but if either my effects or his fail we will sink again. unless I plot some random cords into the Quantum drive and punch it to full power. If you want to kill somepony then kill me after the city is safe."
cosmic says through the com, "All righty, the city is raising. Keep up the good work. As of now, I cosmic will take responsibility for all action done during and after this cities safety is assured. Even if it means I am to be punished, with death."
Starlight looked up worriedly as the ceiling burst. Doing what she could Starlight was swept of her hooves and into the rising water. "By Celestia's mane!" she cried, still protected by her armor.
"Both of you are no longer needed, the core extension can handle the rest..." Blue said and held her head. "I... Wont... Let... You..." she said through her clenched teeth.
City is now at 2/3 of the way. The corridor Starlight is in is now fully flooded.
Starlight thankfully didn't panic, instead trying to get out through the hole in the roof.
Cosmic made a choice punching his own mana into the system, he control shifts the core into sleep mode and gains access to the whole system. He says to the core, "She may not be able to hold you back much longer, but you forget I am in my element within this city. you now must tend with my mind as well. Techno Control Full Power!"
As the city raises, Cosmic prepares the final sequence for outer shield activation. Using nearly 90% of his Pegasus mana reserves, he aids blue in protecting the city by rerouting all control from core central to Cosmic. Cosmic then shuts out core control and puts it into a time out, locking it within its own core system and denying it outside access till the city is safe.
Cosmic felt a huge surge of power within himself as he overtook the core. Blue sharply opened her eyes, they were white and glowing and her horn was sparkling. Her breath was sporadic and she was sweating.
Finally the city reached the surface, just as starlight got to the roof. She could get a nice view of the city in its full glory, as well as the blue tropical sky.
The crystal on Blue's bracelet/horseshoe interface goes black and she falls to the ground, unconscious. The engines also shut down, as well as all magic and mechanics on the city. Minutes go by and the city restarts, light returning to its hall, sounds of pumps draining the water, doors opening when the sea water drained. Furthermore, every area that was previously marked by a color was now glowing white.
Tundra was still in the library, focusing on keeping the rune stable as he had no idea if the city could keep itself in place or not, the sudden light through what previously was just a leak made him blink though as he tried to adjust, the internal light suddenly shutting off hadn't helped either. When the lights turned back on though he was quite surprised as what was previously coloured yellow was now completely white, confusing him a bit as to what just happened.
At the right moment before surface breach, cosmic uses the last of his power to set the city into reboot mode and activates the outer shield. When done Cosmic leaves techno mode. However the runes covering him stay active, as he also passes out.
Cosmic is now exhausted. all systems set to reboot mode. hopefully the city remains surfaced long enough to allow for full system reboot.
also tundra can feel that the rune he placed on cosmic is far stronger now then it was before. Tundra also knows Cosmic has passed out.
Starlight smiled slightly climbing on top of the city hallway. Then she realised her helmet was full of water and she couldn't breath, pulling the helm of she gasped for air as the waters fell on her.
"At least the sky is pretty..." she commented.
Tundra continued making sure the huge matrix wasn't going to self-destruct while he sat on the floor, breathing quite heavily as he still hadn't quite recovered from the exertion, his usually slicked back mane now looking like a mess. It took him a little while to notice the telepathic rune on Cosmic having grown a bit stronger, something that in any other situation likely would've puzzled him to no end, but for now he was a bit tired and hardly cared for it.
After some time cosmic finally comes too. he sees blue still unconscious on the floor and rushes to her side still clearly fatigued. he says, "Blue, are you ok?" he checks to make sure blue is fine before turning his attention to the now rebooted systems.
The screen showed to Cosmic that the city was pretty much undamaged, only two floors of the library was lost, its books damaged, but they do have a backup in the system. Also, the clearance system seemed to be missing from all files.
Several days later, as a new day starts, Blue is still unconscious, bandaged up and in a bed in the now fully accessible medical area. The golden bracelet/horseshoe interface still firmly attached to her left hoof.
Starlight stood over Blue, a concerned look on her face. "Avatar, what is her status?"
A pink transparent earth pony appears, walks to Blue and puts her hoof on her chest. "She is stable, yet still weak." Just then, Blue coughed and moved a few times, before opening her eyes and looking around, she noticed Starlight and smiled. "Is everyone alright?" She whispered.
Cosmic is in the medical bay watching over blue. He has been by her side this entire time. He shakes his head and says, "Everypony is fine, blue. You need rest now. I still haven't figured how to get the device to come off yet and for some odd reason I can't get mine off now either."
Tundra had spent a few hours after the incident napping before starting to study about the Atalan language, he had stayed in the library since, studying non-stop and just learning more and more about the language, the only short breaks being to eat a ration or two to keep from starving while his runes kept him from really getting tired. Some ofthe expedition members had even started to joke that at this point he probably knew more about the language than most of the city's previous inhabitants themselves.
Starlight smirked and nodded. "Yes, but... We're running out of food..."
Cosmic says, "I could try to get the food replication systems to start operating again. Avatar, what is the status of system core 001?"
Even after several days the runes covering Cosmic still have yet to vanish.
Blue looked to the device on her hoof and sighed sadly. "It's linked to my neural system. Basically, its now a part of my hoof..." She explained. The device now though seemed to be dormant again.
"System Core 001... grumpy... Status not recognized."
"Than finding better food sources should be now our highest priority." she said and sat up.
Cosmic placed his left hoof on her to lay her back down. he then says, "You need to stay in bed for now. you have been out cold for several days. you body may still need time to heal." he then looks to the avatar and says, "Authorization code 117cosmic. Access internal mapping system for garden area 1 and 3. As well as growth status."
The AI nods and the said map got displayed. "Growing status: Seeds. Growing enhanced thanks to earth pony magic. First harvest expected in 4 weeks."
Post Merge
Blue let herself be lied down by Cosmic and sighs. "I never was somepony who would just stay in bed."
cosmic says, "By current population and food storage. How long before current food supply runs out?"
he looks to Blue and says, "You and me had a hard time dealing with grumpy. I had a surge happen in the middle of it allowing me access to an ability I didn't know I had. Now I have runes covering me that I can't translate. Tundra has stuck himself in the library. You have been unconscious for multiple days. do I really need to continue. BTW what I saw I will not say to anypony. It is your space and I will not get involved. But you have my respect. what you did facing grumpy like that was pretty bucking cool."
Blue blushed, giggled and rubbed her head.
"At current food usage, the storage will run out in an estimated 7 days." the AI said.
Panacea had just woken up due to her fairly unorthodox sleep schedule, and she stepped out of her room to immediately head for the medical area.
Rest had not been easy for maple i scared over the fact that he had sleept though the whole was stillincident with out batting an eye not to mention the water seeping into his room when he woke up "alright let me go see if im now able to go into the armoury"
cosmic nods and says, "What is the current condition of the Quantum Leap Drive? Also scan nearby areas within the limit of your main scanner's range for habitable land masses." Cosmic looks to blue before saying, "Also while I was connected, I got a full technical readout of the city. It made finding things a lot easier for others till the system was fully functional again. If you would like I could create you one of the hoof mounted systems like mine but no getting it stuck to you will be necessary. The modified ones I can make are less complex and only serve as a map and information system. and for those who haven't studied enough of the language a translator when needed and commanded to by its user."
"So AI could you please point me towards the armoury" i look around with a nervous look hoping he was not about to be teleported into a closed room
Naura had passed out from the shaking and missed when the water came, now she just layed on the ground before M.I.A with a weird face.
((Missed so much I couldn't come up with a better solution X3))
"Ok a better question" i start to think "ok where is cosmic then" i walk down the twisted hallways looking around every corner as go "now where did everypony say cosmic was agian" i try to rake my brain for the answer
Cosmic calls on the communicator, "Everypony blue is awake now. If you need me, I am in the medical area. For those who need maps please come to me for a hoof mounted map and information system. I built a few while tending to blue."

After walking around the city for a while and checking the map every now and then you stubble upon one of the many armories in the city. You walk in and see shelves with silver elliptical shapes, about the mass of a pony.

"Quantum drive stable within acceptable parameters. Commencing scan..."
"I'm not sure if i need that, i mean i still have this..." Blue waved with her left hoof a bit.
"But you can create more of them, for the others." She said and smile.
"Do you know what happened to the previous inhabitants?"
I radio in "copy that im on my way be there shortly" i start to walk with a faster pace with the excitment of a new gaget
Cosmic says, "Grumpy holds all the memory data. Unless we can find out what happened to any degree or I can get into Grumpy's system and fix the problems, with tundra's help of course, we won't know. The journal said something about a glitch or sabotage of the system. I think it had something to do with grumpy."
"I saw what happened, when we were connected." Blue sighed and looked to the window, observing the sky and clouds outside. "The clearance system was at fault. Someone hacked the system and the city started to..." she whispered.
Maple forgot all about the cosmic soon as he saw the armoury "holy hay these are massive, i cant belive this" i touch one and feel the smooth surface "wow thats smooth, i better call this in" i find my comradio and start to radio cosmic "umm cosmic i think i fond somthing here"
cosmic says, "So by getting rid of the clearance system, you solved the problem. Luckily for us, we can find out what is wrong with the clearance system. I have a copy back up of it on my monitoring device for a program diagnostic. I have yet to look through it because of what had happened before. I also need another language upgrade in order to finalize the translator program, so we can even read the files. You deleted the originals and I have a copy back up we can sift through. When ever tundra can pull his mussel from the library books we can start going over the files and fix the bugs. the clearance system was a good idea, but with the code messed up I didn't want to try and use it again."
Cosmic says on the com, "Armory delta right? The pony sized weapon systems? I have been tending to blue so haven't had a chance to look at them. Can you try and bring one to me?"
I reply "sure can" i start to pick one up to be surprised that i weighed like a feather ,of course it still was pretty big and so after awhile of dodgeing though doorways and what not i finally see the medical bay "oh thank god" i huff out
The shape you picked up lighted up with lines and started to levitate in front of you when you reached the medical area, following wherever you go.
Edit: funnier version~
"Hmm thats intersting" i walk around it after one pass i smile "well then would you look at that it levitats and from the size and texture im guessing its a mobile cannon or rapid fire weapon which also looks like it was used to patrol some areas
Cosmic was awe struck when he saw the device of a weapon's sytem then he remembered what blue had summoned during her connection time. He looks to the avatar and says, "Avatar, what is the designated purpose of Armory Delta?"
I started to dp some scans on it "hmm thats a very powerful power core for a gun,if it melts down it could blow half the city sky high" i finish looking at cosmic
"Primary function of armory Delta is storage and maintenance of silver machina assigned to that sector." The AI explained.
Blue sighed. "Silver ones are non-lethal, the gold ones are dangerous." She said while still looking out the window. "Who hacked the system...?" she whispered very silently.
I shrug "let me have a closer look at its inside i bet the main cpu is in there" i look at blue for permission
Starlight frowned. "As security's head I do not give you permission."
Cosmic nods and says, "avatar, who would hack the clearance system? Did they have the needed clearance codes to get pass the security grid?"
cosmic examines the silver mecha, claiming it from Maplewood. He looks to starlight and says, "starlight, please let Maplewood take armory inventory."
cosmic looks to maplewood and says, "Starlight is right. That would be my area. I am the Repair and service quantum engineer for the team."
I sigh "ok then ill go get a pen and start to do some inventory" i walk away leaveing the mecha behind
"Two changes to the clearance archived, one made by Blue Star, the other unidentified."
"Outside scan complete." a massive landmass was displayed via hologram. "Land detected." it started to describe the landmass, it would be difficult to grow anything there, but not impossible.
Maple was amazed at the sheer size of land mass "wow thats big ,anyways iv got an armory to investigate more" and with that started to walk back
Cosmic takes in the scanned info and then says, "How far does the interstellar scanner reach? what was the date of the unknown alteration? what was the data altered?"
He then looks to blue and says, "If we can find out what data was altered, we won't need to sift through the entire program to find the errors."
As maple walks back he feels somthing bump into him from behind "what now..?" I stop talking as i look behind to find the mecha just floating there "wow did you follow me well i guess thats ok then quick to the armory" i start to gallop down the stairs towards the delta armory
((Who controls M.I.A?
Tundra finally seemed to finish with his studies, gaining about as much of an understanding of the language as he possibly could through the library and the AI's help, his mind still had to sort out all the information but he'd mostly gotten used to the language now.
"Ooooh that feels good~" Tundra muttered as he stretched out, small snaps and pops emitting from pretty much the entirity of his body, the still cloaked pony spending several more minutes stretching his somewhat stiff muscles before trotting towards Cosmic's location, which conveniently was by Blue too, he had heard something about Blue waking up not long ago and was rather curious as to how she felt.
"Interstellar scanners have a range of 2.000.000 kilometers. Unidentified alterations on 3rd of Hay 54003. Alterations made to the clearance system, engine protocols, scanners and special database." it explains.
"Think i should connect to 'grumpy' again to get more info?" Blue asked and sat up again.

Starlight didn't seem interested anymore, more wanting to see the landmass. "Can we check out the landmass? Please?"

Starlight didn't seem interested anymore, more wanting to see the landmass. "Can we check out the landmass? Please?"
"Yes, thats a great idea. Help me get up and lets go to the docks." Blue said and tried to get out of bed.

After awhile of inventory checks maple is so tired he falls asleep in one of the workspace chairs almost instantly
When the machina detected you asleep in flew in the door and started to hover back and forth, in a guarding mod.
"Blue, you must rest!" Starlight stated.
Tundra walked into the medical room just as Blue was trying to get up, drawing a chuckle from the earth pony. "Looks like the doctor doesn't like being the patient." He remarked with a smirk, not looking or sounding like he'd just finished with what was like half a week or so of non-stop reading, taking notes and theorizing.
Blue just sighed and lied down. "Alright alright. I'll stay in bed. But do go to the docks and take a ship, if any of them are still working that is. Oh, and take two silver machina with you, just in case."
Cosmic says, "Good to see you out of the den, Tundra. I hope my update didn't disturb your studying. By the way, you wouldn't happen to have that language update for my translator matrix would ya? Also I think it is time we start doing a full system check and make sure everything is in proper working order. You game for the runic stuff?"
Cosmic says, "Avatar, please download a copy of all remaining altered files to analysis area 2. I would like to do a once over and see what the hay that being changed about them. See if I can get the programs working again. Also put grumpy on standby mode for blue when you get the chance. I still don't want him accessing anything, till we make sure his systems are all fully operational and working normally."
The AI nodded and disappeared, using its processing capacity to finish the requested tasks.
cosmic looks to blue and says, "Get a few more hours of rest and something to eat before you try to move around ok? I may not be a doctor but I think I know an exhausted pony when I see one. We both have been that way sense the incident so We both need to take it easy. Grumpy is all set for you. Do be careful that he doesn't try to interface with you and take control of you again please."
With that cosmic heads over to analyze the files. see which ones need fixing and recalibration and which ones need to be replaced entirely. he also starts going over the files from the clearance system as well. searching for bugs and program glitches made by the hacker to mess up the system.
Clearance system show heavy editing, the system as it is now is nowhere near how it was supposed to work.
The engines have a cascading macro glitch, which caused that the engines gave more and more "waist energy" on higher settings, the glitch was integrated into the entire code, in order to fix this one would need to reload the entire program.
Scanners were very cleverly reset to ignore certain signs.
The database had several files deleted, their content is a mystery.
Tundra watched the conversation idly as he seemed to be thinking about something, snapping out of it when Cosmic asked about the translation matrix. "Oh, that? Yeah, I have the updated translation matrix illustrated on a few notes back in the library, just head over to pick them up when you feel like it, marked them with a rune in the top corner, you'll know it when you see it."
Cosmic shakes his head and says, "Avatar, run a level 4 diagnostics on all engine systems. I need u to look for this cascading macro glitch. I also need a copy of the engine program from one of it previous updates before the date of alteration. I have to rewrite the entire thing to get engines to function right. Also What is the purpose of the special database? Recalibrate scanners to function on pre alteration date standard protocols. Then re-conduct all scans from the last week. Do not leave out anything from any scan."
While the avatar is doing the given tasks he begins to rework the Clearance system, making sure to take note of what has been altered and comparing it to what is was supposed to be. He mutters to himself, 'Now, what were you wanting to do? You probably wanted something and you wanted only yourself to have access to it.'
Once he figures what is fully wrong with the clearance code and fixes the assigned code ,he begins writing out a completely new engine code. he takes into account the knowledge gained from the archives and he own personal experience to design a new engine system code.
cosmic looks over to Tundra and says, "Hey Tundra have a looksee here. I found out why we nearly had an uncontrolled quantum leap, while trying to surface the city. The hacker added into the whole of the engine program a cascading macro glitch. the program is trash now and must be completely rewritten. Care to handle the matrix adaptations for me, while I work on the code itself? I will pick up the update shortly. I wanted to try and get partial normal power back to the engines before we make landfall. this is so I can properly calibrate the shield systems, just incase we need them."
a red griffin appeared "Previous updates all deleted. Checking all engine systems. Purpose of the database is to archive any and all lifeforms we have encountered. Scanners recalibrated, commencing a full scan." A white light filled the room, then extended to every part of the city, the pain felt while being scanned before was also gone.
Cosmic smiles at the fact the scanners were now working properly for the most part. He continues to rewrite the whole engine program, taking out the cascading macro. As he is writing the program, he also tries to come up with ways of conserving power. As well as a new program for an emergency jump system, just incase they need to power up the jump drive and fast. The new program will have the needed parameters to allow for safe jump, plus a list of possible safe arrival locations to chose from at random.
Cosmic says, "Including the deleted files, how many different life forms have been discovered? How many were friendly and how many would be hostile should we encounter them?"
"The database contains 2.345.213.563.760 lifeforms, 43% of which are hostile. Warning, power reserves are at 20%."
Tundra nodded as he listened, he wasn't very much into quantum mechanics but he knew that a leap would be rather bad, somewhat like a teleportation spell gone horribly wrong, the thought of it made him shudder before he pushed it out of his mind. "The matrixes shouldn't be too hard to adjust so long as you tell me what the adjustements are, I think I'll be able to change them from here so long as some form of conduit's nearby, the wires and whatnot in the floors and walls should do nicely, though I might have to go through generators with some of the engines, I'll leave a marker by the generators I'll go through when it comes to that."
cosmic says, "Shut down all non essential systems in areas 5, 9 and 12. Reroute power from shield grid delta. Are the solar grids aligned properly for solar energy collection? If so bring online grids 5 threw 8 and realign all essential systems and lighting to them. bring online solar grid 9 and 10 rerouting all medical systems to them. Tundra I think we need to check out the quantum energy matrix. I thought those things lasted nearly a city wide life time."
Cosmic puts away the programs he is working on and locks away the clearance system. He then stands to get ready to work.
((waiting on the response for the power conservation and grid alignments as well as Tundra's thoughts on checking out the energy matrix.))
"Commencing." The AI concentrated on said tasks, but went a bit farther, it shut down every part of the city that isn't essential for its function, stopping the full scale scan as well. "Complete, energy stable at 18%."
Blue picked up her communicator. "Cosmic, Tundra, we have a problem... Meet me at the door to sector F." She simply said and against the protests of the AI and nurses stood up and left for the said place.
((Umm, I'd need M.I.A to do some reaction to the passed out Naura...))
((when did she pass out? I mean, we did a time skip after all))
Tundra immediately started reaching out towards the matrixes on the engines, doing a quick check and some repairs before checking out the energy matrix came up. "Didn't think about that one...yeah, really should check it, must've been pretty well made to have lasted this...long..." He said, trailing off a little as Blue suddenly mentioned some problems and to meet her at sector F. "I think we should maybe check that out first, that didn't sound like an excuse to get out of bed, more like a serious problem."
Cosmic follows blue from the medical after telling the avatar's and medical staff, "Don't worry, I will make sure she doesn't further affect in a negative manner her condition. Avatar, should the power start dropping again, decrease power to the anti-grave matrix and align the quantum drive for emergency power stitch protocols. That will be a last resort." Cosmc follows blue all the way to sector F.
Once at the door to the section F Blue presses the bracelet/horseshoe onto the walls' terminal and opens the door. "You probably already figured, but the quantum engine really isn't supposed to power the city." She explained as she walked in, presumably followed by Tundra and Cosmic. They reached a medium sized circular room with a very high roof and various shapes along the wall. In the middle of the room a stand was firmly attached to the floor. Blue pressed a button and the stand opened, revealing 3 crystals. "This is our power source. Two of them are empty, one is cracked. We need to replace at least one." She closed the stand for now and pointed to a door, behind the door was the crystal storage, there were many, so many one could not count them, but they were there a long time, most of them had lost their charge a long time ago, most other are cracked. "There has to be at least one intact and charged crystal here, if we cant find an intact one, we'll have to risk using a cracked one." She said and started to check the crystals.
Tundra followed too into the room, looking curiously at the three crystals inside the stand, quickly recognizing them as an energy source, he had created something similar, or more of a recipee for changelings to store love inside crystals. He could tell that the ones in there really were not supposed to be powering the city in their current state, the cracked one in particular worrying him. "We're gonna need to get that portal functioning sometime so we can send some empty ones back to Equestria, if we're lucky someone will have the knowledge to recharge them or even produce new ones to replace the cracked ones." He said, rather confident in the latter before he started checking some other crystals, particularly looking for any unstable or cracked ones that still had a charge in them, hoping he'd be able to repair them somehow or at least keep them from discharging their energy in a rather violent manner.
Cosmic's runic matrix ignites in the core room. cosmic goes over to several crystals and looks at them. he says, "According to the history data charts, These quantum crystals can only be found within the mining system of what became known as the Canterlot Crystal Caves. There are about 300 more locations through out the universe but with the core in its current state we can't currently reach any of them. 80% of all crystals in this room are completely drained of power and are useless. 15% of the remaining 20% are cracked. there is 5% of the remaining 20% that hold charges and are whole. I can see them. I can see their energy signature but my goggles are in my personal tool kit back at the medical bay. All I have on me is the repair kit we need to replace the crystals."
Cosmic goes over and select three crystals. Then he says to Tundra, "I need a twin layer shielding rune applied to these three crystals. can you handle that, Tundra?"
Blue quickly walks up to the three selected crystals, almost touching them with her nuzzle. "Sorry, but these are no good." She whispered and went thought them all. "If you look carefully you might still see the residue glow they emit. These are quantum crystals, yes, but they underwent a series of operations that made them pure, safer and more powerful. We need a 'glowing' one." she tried to explain.
Cosmic looks at them. "hmmm.. then how come they hold a charge similar to that of the jump Drive's primary linked core?"
Cosmic looks threw all of the crystals that he can see their charge signature. he places them in a location separate from the others. While doing so he fines not one but two that hold a glowing charge.
He says, "hey right here. I found two. No cracks and a strong aura glow." Cosmic shows them to blue.
Blue just tilted her head and frowned. "I don't know, you're the quantum guy here! I just remember that only glowing ones are good to use." She took a good look at the other two Cosmic found. "Yes, there should work great. Alright, lets plug them in." She charged her horn and held the crystals in front of her with her unicorn levitation spell, while almost galloping back to the stand.
Tundra watched as Blue brought the crystals back to the stands, a little nervous if they were just as stable as they were supposed to be. "Before we start running those for the city's power, would you mind letting me reinforce the stand a bit? I could make it act as a more efficient blast shield, just in case. I'd rather not have those blow up because of some hairline crack."
Cosmic says coming in after Blue, "Put a twin layer shield rune on them and they should be fine. They're stable, no cracks and optimal. They would also increase the energy efficiency of the city by 12%."
Cosmci sets up the tools needed to replace crystals. he also checks the ones on the stand to make sure they are safe to remove.
Blue holds the crystals and opens the stand, waiting for for Cosmic to do his check and wiggling her tail like an impatient little filly.
Tundra immediately gets to work on the runes, reinforcing the stand, though if Cosmic were to look at them he'd probably recognize the runes looking far more advanced than just a simple dual-layer shield if he could even recognize that. "Adaptive shield, works somewhat like cornstarch actually, the stronger the attack or blast the stronger the shield gets, pretty efficient in long term." Tundra simply said as he finished, almost like he was expecting one of the two to point out that it wasn't quite what they had asked for.

((when did she pass out? I mean, we did a time skip after all))
((I don't know X3 she just got teleported somewhere, you can decide a place))
((oh, alright~))
Suddenly, a portal opens in front of Blue, Tundra and Cosmic, and Naura falls out of it flat one her face.
Tundra was the first to react, blinking as he looked at the somewhat odd-looking earth pony. "Errr.....what just happened? You okay?"
"Wha- again?" Naura says before passing out.
Blue sighs and rolls her eyes, then, still holding the crystals with a levitation spell, walks over Naura and checks her.
cosmic checks the crystals on the stand finding they are indeed safe to remove. He removes the crystals and claims the new ones placing them. He leaves one of the drained but whole crystals in to insure the tri link is activate able. He then says touching the third one, "Techno Charge."
His techno charge ability seams to have reconstituted the crystal and it glows the same as the other two.
Cosmic then closes the system and says, "Avatar, realign all systems to main power grids alpha threw delta. Transfer all anti grave matrix containment to the solar grids 5 threw 8 and return to standby the Quantum Drive."
Once the main power has been reestablished the runic matrix returns to its dormant state.
"Energy reserves growing." Blue said with a smile, while checking on Naura, she seemed alright, so Blue shook with her a few times.
cosmic turns and says, "HMMMM....It seams she has a quantum flux field surrounding her. when she is in immanent danger, it will activate and send her to a safe point in the time stream. Fasinating isn't it. Now that the power has been returned to the main grids, the quantum drive is now on standby mode and we can take her back to the medical center. I think it best if I carry her. I am the largest one here."
Cosmic goes over to put Naura on his back so they can make their way to the medical room.
"Hmm, you're right... Wait! Avatar, four to transport, medical bay 3." Blue says and a flash of light shines, Blue, Naura, Cosmic and Tundra appeared in the medical zone, the same room Blue was resting before. "Beats walking, doesn't it." She giggled.
Tundra glanced around as they were teleported to the medical bay, looking slightly confused and just a tiny bit worried. "It does, though I think I'm gonna come up with a rune to block that just in case it ends up becoming dangerous, anyways we need to get her checked up." He said, finishing by nodding at the green earth pony draped over Cosmic's back.
Blue charges her horn and with her unicorn levitation spell moves Naura into a bed, then she walks from one cabinet to the next one before she finds what she's looking for, smelling salt. She opens the bottle with said salt and places it to Naura's nose, a reaction should come immediately.
"BWAAAH" Naura roars and starts to cough.
"Wha? What was that? Where am I? Who are you?" She starts to scream out.
"Calm down." Blue said in a motherly tone and put her hoof on Naura's shoulder. "You are safe, in our medical room, in the city of Atala." She smiled.
"Atala? Again? What is Atala" She starts to ask as she stares at the blue pony.
Tundra slowly walked up to the confused-looking earth pony. "Lost city of Atala, we're in it, only found it less than a week ago, also I am pretty sure this is not anywhere near equestria unfortunately."
"Where is this lost city, if its not close to Equestria, then where is it?"
Cosmic nods to Tundra coming up. He says, "Your correct tundra. We are quite a number of light years away from Equestria right now. As for the question, what is Atala. Atala is an ancient highly advanced city capable of sustaining a combination of more then 6 billion life forms. Though she is ancient by the time line she is also far more advanced then anything currently creatable on Equestria and maybe about 7 trillion other worlds that can sustain life. We are her citizens now and you have joined the populous. Don't think it a bad thing. Now the old clearance system was a bad thing."
cosmic looks around the room. He then says, "Somepony or someone hacked into the central core, A.K.A. Grumpy, in the distant past and heavily modified the clearance system so that, A.) it was imposible on ones own to gain clearance level, B.) those who entered into an area namely a red area would be considered a threat and killed on sight and C.) Nopony, unless you became a part of the core, would ever gain clearance level red.
The system was preprogramed to red mark all known vital defensive areas and kill all who didn't have clearance on sight. This killed about 60% of the original inhabitance the rest were killed by something else. The city did nothing because of the sabotage of their main command matrix, A.K.A. Grumpy. I discovered this by examining the actual code for the clearance system. I have reworked about 25% of the clearance program and about 50% rewrote the engine code. When done we will have full capability to move this city to what ever world we see fit. The code rewrite will take me about a week to finish. How ever the food supplies are low and we will need to secure a food source. So when our dear friend Starlight wakes We will begin our operations to venture out onto the nearby continent. Isn't that correct, blue?"
"Very well said, Cosmic. Maybe they should appoint you the leader, instead of me." Blue giggled and sat on her bed with a silent sigh.
Cosmic says, "Nope not happening. I just restated what was already discussed. I also added in the stuff about the data files. The engines are going to be a pain in the flank."
"I-I still don't get it" Naura say and rubs her belly and a growl is heard from it.
Blue giggled at the cute growl. "Let's get something to eat."
"Yeah, food would be nice..." Naura says and burps.
"Why do I always burp in moments like this" She says in a quiet voice to herself.
cosmic says to Naura giggling, "Ask Avatar about the last weeks worth of events. when you get the chance. avatar should make it easier to understand. I love technical talking so it is always hard to understand me at times." He looks to blue and says, "Yea that would be a good idea. Especially for you, blue. You haven't eaten since you woke a few hours ago."
Blue nodded and smiled. "Avatar, four to tra..."
((put a pause there if anypony wants to stop her~))
Tundra gently poked Blue's muzzle, stopping her as he turned to face Naura. "Two things I wanted to ask, what is your name? And how do you feel regarding changelings?"
"Umm, My name is Naura, and one of my friends once got bitten by a changeling, so I don't really like them too much... But if I have to work with one I could give it a shot... Uh, I want to stay here if there aren't any close way to Equestria, so please don't kick me out if I give the wrong answer" She says and stares at Tundra with puppy eyes.
Tundra faked a rather serious face for a moment before dropping it and responding with a chuckle. "I don't think any of us were planning to kick you out, I just wanted to make sure you wouldn't freak out, we have a couple changelings in our company which is about 49 creatures, there's gryphons and a few other species too."
Blue rubs her nose. "Well, first of all its up to me if we kick someone out or not. Secondly, no we are not going to kick you out. And if you want to go home, i can promise you to be among the first to return when we get the portal working again." she explained with a smile.
"What portal?"
"A huge empty circle like thing." Blue answered while gesticulating a huge circle with her hooves.
Cosmic says, "That reminds me. When I was connected to Atala, I saw nothing pertaining to the portal room within the main memory systems of Atala. The only one who may know how to open the portal from this side might be Grumpy. Now lets get some food. Atala four to transfer, cafeteria. Any who do not wish to transfer may say so."
Before anypony could say against it the four were transported to the cafeteria with a flash of light.
((moving things a bit forward))
Cosmic goes over and gets 2 basic ration set and two recovery ration sets.
he brings them back to the others and says, "Blue if am not mistaken, until the gardens are ready for harvest, right now we have only these. so here ya go, bon appetite." he hooves over one of the basic rations to Tundra. He hooves to blue and Naura a recovery ration set each.
"Yeah..." Blue sighed and opened her ration set, then looked at it for a few seconds before taking the first bite and cringing. "Ug... Never liked the taste of these things." She whispered.
((last post for me for a while need nap.))
cosmic sits at the tables. he found himself lucky that the tables were able to accommodate all sizes of creatures. His larger size meant he needed things to be a bit larger. He eats his meal, doing practically the same thing as blue but he seams to be forcing himself to eat it. 'Why do I even bother with this stuff? I need to get some real food later. at least a proper drink.' He thinks to himself.
Starlight was sitting at the docks fishing, waiting for those that would join her on the landmass.
Blue quickly finished her ration and coughed a few times. "Alright, thanks for the meal. See you all later." She stood up and walked out of the cafeteria. She was supposed to go back to the medical area, or at least her room, to rest a bit more. She rubbed her chin. "Avatar, transport for one, dock area." She said and got transported. She took a few breaths and looked around, spotting Starlight, she smiled. "So you haven't left for the landmass yet, can i come with you? Just in case you need medical assistance." She smiled.
Saiko was sitting a few feet to Starlights' and Blues' left the whole time, with a fishing rod in hoof and a bucket hat decorated with strange looking lures and hooks. It wasn't until he began light-hearted whistling when his presence was known.
Starlight sighed. "Go back to your room, and please inform my team they need to be here in five."
Blue slowly frowned, picked up the communicator. "Starlight's team report to the docks." She hid the communicator and turned to Starlight. "You know i can just order you to take me with you."
"Uhm..." Starlight muttered.
"No uhms. You're taking me with you, and you're going to, aren't you, Saiko." Blue said very assertively and somewhat angrily.
"Yes ma'am," Starlight whined...
"I guess?" Saiko responded hesitantly, lowering his fishing rod. His eyes scanned the vicinity out of confusion to as why Blue was addressing him with her tone. He placed his rod onto the floor and got up, ready to follow.
"Great, all aboard." Blue said happily, charged her horn and teleported to a medium sized ship docked near them, just in the moment the rest of Starlights team came. "Hmm, should we take some machina with us, just in case?" she rubbed her chin.
"I suggest so," Starlight replied
Blue just clapped her hoof against the ships floor and two golden oval shapes lowered from the ceiling. "Very well. Everyone ready?"
Cosmic said through the communicator, "I am going to stay behind and work with the repair teams. will try to have more of the city operational by the time y'all get back. Hopefully now that the power problem is solved, I might be able to get the shield grids fully functional again. Please take care of yourself Blue. I don't want to see you come back on either a stretcher or in a body bag."
Starlight counted the team. "Wait, aren't we missing somepony?"
"Thanks for the heads up, but don't worry. I'm tougher than i look. Open the port door 3 for us, please." Blue answered to the communicator. She then turned to Starlight. "Hm? Who?"
Starlight counted the team. "I'm not sure... but we're one down, I think."
((ChibiGrrl said she wanted to join in the OOC section, giving her a last chance for this.))
Cosmic says, "okie dokie. One ready to launch ship coming right up." cosmic is in the main control room working on the program rewrites. so he stops the rewrites for a moment to prep their craft for launch. He then says, "All righty then. Surface team, you are good for launch at any time. Port door is open. Have a safe trip."
Tundra was in the main control room too, mostly for the sake of convenience as he could both adjust the engine matrixes and easily ask what had to be adjusted, to anyone who didn't know this though he looked more like he was taking a nap than actually doing something. The talk about the ground team making him temporarily halt his work. "Do tell them to try not to be hostile towards anything they find, for all we know there could be a civilization flourishing on this planet, though I somewhat doubt that."
With a snort maple wakes up his face stuck to the metal surface of the table "wow how long ws i out for, wait where is the mecha" but as i start to get up i see it glide around the corner finally being able to stop its guard path
Noticing you are awake the machina quickly hovers to you.
After cracking his back and doing some stretchs to return to my seat "well look who is still on good god have you been doing that the whole time" i then notice the computer scren and remeber why i was there "oh yea the list l, hmm lets see" a minute goes by "ahha there you are wow thats a lot of stuff!"
((what list?))
(The armory inventory)
((ah, ok))
The screen shows you the inventory of this particular armory.
There are 200 of the silver machines, equipment to repair and maintain said machines and usage archives.
((Let's say Naura have been sleeping since the food, I missed alot last night and I won't be on much this morning...))
Starlight shrugged counting the team one last time before motioning to set sail.
"Seems we have everyone, right Starlight?" Blue asked and stood behind the wheel, waiting for Starlight's answer.
Cosmic says, "Oh one more thing. Tundra suggests y'all keep out of trouble. No getting hostile, unless something gets hostile with you first."
Cosmic works with tundra to get the engines reworked and fully operational, while the landing team is away.
"Still confident we're one down... Just set sail.
Following the events of entering the portal with the expedition team. A young changeling emerged from the darkness tottering with each step he took. He stared around the environment to see his first glance at the unfamiliar city before he collapse onto the ground losing conscious.
The youngling was out since they came to this city until now, in the care of a medical AI.
"Where are we heading if you don't mind me asking?"
((Where is Naura? I'd like to make her wake up now))
"Ah yes there you are wow thats alot of machines i better get a moblie version" with that i plug a usb cord from my cybor hoof into the computer and start to download
(naura should be in the cafeteria)
((Is there anypony there that she could be with, having her just running around seems like a bad idea...))
((welp, maple could get hungry, get something to eat and stumble upon you if he want so, pretty much everyone else is on the landmass expedition, exept tundra and cosmic))

"Where are we heading if you don't mind me asking?"
"We're going to the continent the scanners discovered a few hundred kilometers from here." Blue said and operated the controls, slowly and gently steering the ship out of the dock, and then full speed ahead towards the landmass.
"Gah, wha, where, ahhhh!" Naura mumbles and opens her eyes to find the other ponies gone.
"Oh colt, what to do now...?" She says with a low voice and looks around in the cafeteria.
Finally the download was done as i was unpluging the usb my stomach gave a groan "hmm i should get something to eat now while i look over this data, well off to the cafe" i walk out of the armory closing it with the keypad the code was 1362 "there just incase"
((I'm guessing the hall is empty except for me and Maple))
Naura sees a pony walk into the cafeteria and sighs of happiness.
"Hey, uh, I just got here from a weird portal, I fell asleep and they, some ponies that was with me, were gone, could you show me around here?" She runs up to him and starts to rabble.
Maple is suprised by the suden rabble coming from this pony and starts to groan "please ill answer your questions just let me get something to eat" with that i dodge and head into the cafe
(Sorry i didnt say anything soonr busy)
"Oh, okay" Naura says and goes back to the table and waits for the stallion.
The youngling slowly opened his eyes then rose his head to gaze at the medical AI silently. "......."
After grabbing a ration something that maple had grown to like i went and sat down "ah rations my favourite, now what were you sking agian?" As i sked i pulled up the armory list and started to review it
(( I think I'll get back into the hang of things... ))
Panacea was lounging around the medical area, occasionally looking over the book that the AI had given her. Even though it was a foals book, she didn't understand what the words meant, but could make out the pictures in it. She did recall mentions of a library, but didn't give much thought to it.
I look up "yo naura you ok why are you staring at me like that" i ask eating some more of my ration i sart to wave my hoof infront of try to get a reaction
"Nothing, I would need somepony to show me around, maybe give me a little room where I can sleep or something..." She asks and burps, quickly pushing her hoof in her mouth.
I chuckle "sure let me just finish eating" after i was done my ration i got up "well lets go find you a place to call home"
Cosmic says over the coms, "Maplewood, could you please come to the section F Control room? Please bring anypony with you as well. I kind of need your help with something."
Radio back "sure can do iv got a pony right here" i look at naura "well of to F section you ready for a cool tour?" I say to naura while bringing up my hologram verison of the map
"Oh, so your Maple? Well, I'm ready!" She says and a smile comes up on her face.
I smile to "alright lets go" as we are walking down the hallway "so why did you sound suprised when you learned my name was maple, not trying to be rude?"
"Hmm, I just thought I had heard it before...." Naura replies with a thinking face.
I shrug "its ok just wanted to now" we pass the medical bay "well for starters theres the medical bay were you can find all your medical needs and theres the veiwing deck want to check it out?"
"Sure" Naura says and grins.
We walk into a large glass dome "wow just look at it its just so beautiful" i walk around being amazed by the site
"Wow, this is really somthing!" Naura says and gazes at all the things.
"Well we better get to cosmic before he goes blastic" and with that i exit the room and wait outside inthe hallway
"Okay" Naura says without letting her eyes leave the amazing things in the room.
((Don't write in I form, when you say what your Oc/ponysona does, write in he/she form))
((Yeah, when writing you should always use third person and the past tense.))
((not always, first person and present tense also work, but you absolutely can not mix them. Either write in 3rd past of 1st present, never mix them [as in, you start with using 3rd past, then use 1st present, then return to 3rd past ect]))

Several hours of smooth sailing go by and Blue, Saiko, Starlight and her group set a shore on a rocky beach of the landmass. "I's good to get out of the city every now and then..." Blue sighed in relief.
Saiko walks out of the ship and sets his hooves on the hot sand. "Hmm....." he hummed as he took a small bag of the sand into his saddle bag.
As i look at the hologram i start to wonder were naura is "naura are you comeing or not we cant take all day?" I make a marker on the map where F section is located the map gives me a eta and a blue dotted path
=== F Section Control/Power Room ===
Cosmic looks to Tundra, while hoofing him an engine algorithm, and says, "What do you think of this algorithm? It is suppose to increase power flow rate while minimizing power loss. If connected into the accelerator matrix and the turbine system we should be able to take off faster."
"Right here" Naura says with a smile X3 and runs up to Maple.
Starlight jumped down onto the tropical sands happily, taking in her surroundings.
Blue walked around and stretched for a bit, then turned to the two machina hovering behind her and waved her hoof. The two machina unfolded in their "robot" form, saving energy in this mode and walking behind her, having heir cannon like weapons on standby.
//don't remember if i took the silver ones or the gold ones... lets say gold.
((you took two gold. all you have to do to find out is take a peek at the post that had you call them. I love archiving posts. reposting a GM post for reference. will delete when confirmed.))
((

Blue just clapped her hoof against the ships floor and two golden oval shapes lowered from the ceiling. "Very well. Everyone ready?"
))
Tundra looks over the algorithm he was given for a little while before responding. "Looks like it could work, I just need to make some tiny adjustments to the relevant matrixes for this to work, if it doesn't then it's either your fault or the accelerator and the turbine's broke. And don't worry about the rest of the various runes around the place, already took care of the more important ones while you were writing that engine program, the rest I'm just gonna do gradually." Tundra responded, not seeming to bother waiting for a reply before he was back to work.
I smile "alright lets go then and besids it shouldnt take us that long mabye 15 minutes at the lest" resumes walking down the hallway i glance at the map every once and awhile to make sure im on the right path
Naura trips behind maple with big curiousity.
I look back "you ok there?"
"Yep, no problems with me!"
The youngling was starting to lose his patience. "Alright..I'm getting a bit hungry". He kicked open the door and wandered around to find food.
Registering the youngling in the halls and AI appeared next to him "Do you need assistance?" it asked in a motherly tone.
On the beach, Blue turned to the ponies with her. "Alright, where should we go now? Any suggestions, Starlight?" she questioned.
"Nothing for the moment just want to get something to eat before i probably pass out" he responds
"Please follow the green line to the cafeteria." the AI smiled as a green pathway lighted up, then the AI disappeared.
The youngling did as he was told and followed the green path then kicked open the cafeteria door which would be enough to possibly startle or getattention from anyone who was in there. "So.."
Starlight paused "how about we explore?"
"Already ahead of you!" Saiko exclaimed a few yards away, taking samples from minerals to organics washed up from the ocean into his saddle bag.
For a few minutes the changeling started eating.
"Not what I meant, Saiko. Lets go inland and find food, it's why we came here after all."
"Oh, we can do that too," he returned. In a blink, he teleported out of view.
Meanwhile back in Atala Tundra continued reaching out through the city's power grid to repair what runes were connected, it was a rather simple process really once one got the hang of it but got a little dull after a while.
A few more moments passed before Tundra started to hum softly, humming along to some strange melody in his head while the sound seemed to change slightly in pitch and depth somehow, even sounding as if different creatures hummed along at random intervals and stopping just as randomly and making it sound like a group or even a chorus was humming at several points.
cosmic listens to tundra hum. He continues to finalize the engine program repairs. He is also still waiting for Maplewood and Naura to come to the command center for F section. He says to Tundra, "After this only alpha section remains. Then we will have functioning engines and the ability to make this city fly smoothly, I hope. I am not a very good pilot."
"Hmm, much better." Akuma said as he kicked open the cafeteria door the 2nd time. "I should hang around here though."He sat down in front of the cafeteria door as if he was blocking it.
Tundra continues humming the strange tune while he finishes up his own work, tuning up the matrixes allowing the program to accurately control the engines just to make sure that it would work properly before going back to working with the few remaining runes he hadn't finished with, half waiting for him to get the Alpha section running so he could check that the matrixes worked properly. "Don't worry, they likely have most of it running autopilot or something like that, doubt they would ever allow the city to be crashed with just a single wrong move."
He stopped his humming to respond, then blinked as he realized he'd just spoke with what likely sounded like a myriad of voices of different genders, something that, while admittedly fun to startle others with, could be a little confusing in conversation. He quickly dampened the magic channeled through his voice before saying something more "whoops, kinda forgot I was still focusing magic in my voice, can sound confusing to most, is fun to scare nobles with though." He admitted, ending with a small chuckle on the last note.
Cosmic chuckles and says, "Yea had to deal with them myself. My size alone scared them. Many say I am bigger then that apple farmer, Big Red or Big Mac by his family and friends. To be honest with you, I am just smaller then him in body size."
Tundra smirked at the thought, finding it giving a rather amusing mental image. "Macintosh Apple I think was his name, met him once actually, he looks pretty intimidating but is a friendly fellow, if a bit quiet, seems to be conserving his every word save "eyup"s and "nope"s. I wonder how their cider turns out this year..." he responded, then started musing a little to himself towards the end of his statement.
Cosmic says, "We do have a few open growing spaces. If you know how they make the cider we can probably make some here for everypony. But lets worry about getting these current problems fixed. Then we can worry about luxury after, right?" Cosmic gets up from his work station and says, "Ok my end of section F is done. Now, we just have to wait on the two I called earlier. Then we can move on to alpha command. Remember this will bring us right next to grumpy. So don't wake him."
After a few minutes of walking along dozons of hallways and turns i finally see the F section corridor marker "thank god that took awhile,a few minutes yea what a joke" i look behind me to see if naura is ok
The alpha section door was locked, 'grumpy' was constantly changing the password to keep everyone out. Even though the core wasn't operating at full capacity, it still had a noticeable influence over the city.
Tundra smiled and shook his head. "It can wait, though I'd rather like to try to make some cider from blastberry, made that fruit myself while experimenting, only growth that doesn't blow up or similar if I try to grow them, has quite a strong flavour and has a tendency to blow up in one's mouth if it's chewed a bit too roughly, is harmless though." Tundra mused as he continued his work, finishing up not long after Cosmic.
"Done here too, I don't really think that AI really "sleeps", bit of a troublemaker though, fits the name "Grumpy"." Tundra said as he rose up, smiriking slightly when mentioning the core's nickname.
"Alright, who wants to take point?" Blue asks.
The only way to go from here was in the thick jungle forest, with what looked like a walked out trail. Bit enough for a pony, but the group will have to go one by one, one behind another. The vegetation is a bright purple color, which suggests its not good for eating.
Watching over the two "eggheads" work, Vigilant Honor kept his eyes glued to the crystal pony. All his life, he had grown up hearing the tales of the crystal empire, and all of them put a sour taste in his mouth. Why was it the crystal ponies who got taken over by King Sombra and not all of Equestria? Simply put, they were decadent cowards. Implanted in Vigilant's mind was the idea that if Sombra had tried to cow the Equestrians, his reign would have been very short-lived. But no, those crystal ponies just rolled over and let him put collars on them, not even trying to fight back. Even worse, this yellow-belly was in charge of their entire inventory of weapons and armor. Vigilant made sure to keep on eye on him at all times lest he bolt off at the soonest opportunity to sell off all their hardware.
He thought about having a word with his CO about it until he learned that she had a wife. Vigilant grew up in a military household; his father, his father's father, and his father before him, had all served to defend the Equestrian culture; they served so that their wives and daughters would be able to stay at home without fear of a griffon or zebra stealing into their bedrooms and taking them away in the dead of night. The battlefield was no place for a mare, whom should be at home taking care of the foals and making sure that they grow up in a harmonious household. What must her parents think of her marrying someone just as confused as herself and leaving the family name and fortune to no one or, Celestia forbid, an orphan or b*****d?
He didn't sign up for this, but he was inevitably stuck with it. Only one thing was for sure: come the completion of the expedition, he would sooner be dead than share an embrace with either of them.
(( This is going to be fun lol )
(Where's this guy?)
((in the city))
Cosmic says to the core's sight recognizer, "Grumpy, I know your upset about not being able to hold most of the city but we are trying to fix the engines. Wouldn't you like to fly again? Alpha section is all that is left before we can get Atala airborne again. we found out that your matrix had been messed up by the old clearance system. I will ask blue if we can bring you back to full online status, once she returns. I know you would probably love to get mobile again wouldn't you. Or are you thinking of killing us again?" Cosmic waits for Grumpy's Reply and then says, "You know what fine, keep to yourself you selfish AI system. We were only trying to help you. But I think we will let your circuits go unmaintained for a while and see how your system reacts after. Sheesh, what a pain, Tundra. Lets check on the remaining food supplies."
((I think he is watching Maplewood and Naura. Or watching me and Tundra.))
(( According to Grizzly, I am with you and Tundra. ))
Starlight nodded to blue, only to fall over when her cybernetic limb broke. It fizzled and sparked dangerously causing Starlight great annoyance as she unplugged it from its power source.
"I may need to head back to fix leg."
The core's voice speakers came to life. "Confirmation: Maintenance will be handled by core extension. Scanners show 'Blue Star' is-- not found. Question: What have you done to the core extension? "
Blue walked to Starlight and checked her cyber parts, she was no technician, she could only make sure Starlight herself is alright, and that the cyber parts don't pose a harm to her. She charged her horn and messed with it a bit. "There, you should be able to walk at least. Not sure if you can use your weapon though. If you want to head back we all have to, i'm not leaving anyone behind, we need the ship at the ready if we want to explore. It's up to you now." Blue explained.
Tundra sighed and poked what he assumed to be the core's microphone, it had to hear them somehow, right? "Because she is the expedition leader and currently is off exploring a nearby continent, that good enough for you Grumpy?" Tundra spoke into the assumed microphone. "We're also working on fixing the engines and whatnot so this place actually won't blow up or get stranded somewhere, wanna open that door anytime soon?"
"Irritated Statement: Very well, proceed with your repairs." the door to the alpha section opened.
Cosmic says, "The core extension program went offline when the clearance protocols were removed from the system. I have a back up of the clearance system on my data pad, but it is nowhere near ready to be reactivated. The clearance system had so many rewritten bugs in it, I was thinking about trashing the thing and starting from scratch. That is when I found a pattern to the rewritten data and am currently in the process of reworking the whole thing. I can show you the new engine code and have avatar allow you just enough access to the system to input the new code. I still would like to run a full system diagnostic on you, just incase the hacker messed with you as well."
Tundra nodded as the door opened, tapping a hoof on the floor inside and sending a very small pulse of magic through the room, not enough to disrupt even the most fragile of the mechanisms in the room but enough to to a sort of "surface check" of whatever matrixes and such were in the room. "Just doing a quick check to see if anything's broken rune-wise." He muttered just in case the core was thinking he was attacking or something like that, then again, if he was attacking it the core itself would be in pieces by now.
Cosmic enters and goes over to the council. he begins work on the engine code. Grumpy can see a massive difference to the code, once Cosmic started working on it. Besides notable improvements to energy conservation and power flow regulation, the code seams to also contain some sort of connection algorithm that goes into the clearance system. The algorithm is in a dormant state right now, sense the clearance system is not active anymore. As for its purpose, the clearance system would need to be reactivated to find out and the files for the system have been deleted. Cosmic says, "Hey Tundra, could you check out the aft alpha engine matrix. There seams to be a regulation glitch preventing me from altering the code."
Tundra simply nodded and turned his attention towards the mentioned matrix, accidentally bumping into Vigilant as he hadn't quite paid attention to the guard. "Ah, sorry." He muttered in a quick apology before moving past him and taking a closer look and fixing the errors and such when he spotted them, not really paying anything else much attention with how he was currently.
Vigilant made way for the earth pony runic mage, "My apologies, sir." As Tundra went off and did his own thing, Vigilant continued to walk around the area. The one criteria that kept his wandering from being considered "aimless" was the fact that every position had a clear line of sight towards Cosmic, or "Sparkles" as Vigilant had thus dubbed him. Any wrong move, anything that could be considered an act of aggression towards Tundra, and "Sparkles" was losing a leg. His job may be to protect both of them, but no one would say anything if it was reasonable to suspect that the crystal pony had gone rabid. Besides, the worst part would be the paper work.
Cosmic continues to work but after a while looks in vigilant's direction and says, "Do you like staring at me or something? If your wondering I was born after the return of the Crystal empire. I knew only what history claims about the life of my people after Sombra took control. To be honest with you I think many were just not really active because they probably trusted him before his fall as a tyrant. The best way to claim a kingdom without a fight is usually to gain their trust then make them submit when they believe you are doing what is right for them. Also I may have been born a crystal pony but I was raised in Cloudsdale. I know more about equestrian history then my own culture's history. I only go to the Crystal Empire for the crystal fair anyways." As he spoke he started to work on the programs again. this time he started to add in the now restored and modified clearance system.
((Grizzly, can I PM you what changes Cosmic wanted to make to the clearance system? Also I need what colors for what ranks within the clearance system. Cosmic will not allow the system to be activated until everypony has one of the connection devices. There is a reason for it and it involves that algorithm that was added to all security protocols. will explain in the PM.))
Starlight's leg suddenly reacted very violently with the magic, causing it to explode! "Gahh! Looks like there's no choice now..."
Vigilant smirks malevolently in Cosmic's direction, "So you're telling me your parents thought Sombra was there to help them? Sounds like your parents deserved to be enslaved, eh?" He chuckles as he makes his way over to check on Tundra.
Starlight called Viligant on the communicator. "Viligant, there's a problem, get over to the landmass, we have a problem. Oh and if your reported for being discriminative to the other I will have you removed from duty."
Tundra had just finished checking up on the engine, having fixed a unstable runic connection or two there that he'd not have seen otherwise and overall just making small tweaks to make it a bit more effective and stable. As Vigilant approached he would perhaps notice the runic mage shifting slightly, the flooring slightly warped where his hooves had been previously. "Work to better your attitude or you might find my opinion of your compotence soured." Tundra said in a rather neutral voice while keeping an as normal expression as he could, though minor signs of his rather soured mood slipped through.
Vigilant is about to respond when Starlight can be heard over his communicator. He brings the communicator up to his mouth and replies, "I have no idea what you are talking about, ma'am. I'll be with you shortly. Out." It was then that Vigilant remembered that the landmass group was where Blue was. Trading a sparkler for a fillyfooler wasn't something he would call a worthy trade, but he could hold his tongue.
(( How would one get to the land mass? ))
"I'm serious, Viligant. Keep your opinions to yourself or you WILL get canned."
Well, Vigilant had seen it all, now: Nightmare Moon, Discord, the changeling siege of Canterlot, the return of the Crystal Empire, and now here he was, a 40 year old stallion with a wife and foals at home, being told to pipe down by a mare young enough to be his daughter. When this mission was over, he was retiring.
Turning back towards Tundra, he says, "Sir, I'm needed over at the landmass. Would you be able to spare a moment to cast a teleportation spell?"
Tundra shook his head. "Nope, I have no anchor at their location, heck, I can't even feel where they are by their magic from this distance, unless you want to arrive several hundred feet off target, which includes up in the air, halfway into trees, boulders and whatnot then I'd advise you to pick some other means of travel there, there might be something that could get you there in half an hour if you find something that moves fast, I do have another alternative that should be much faster, though it may be a bit uncomfortable."
"I've experienced suffering, sir; physical pain is only temporary. Do it."
"Well it's more along the lines of being shot through the air at high speeds in an arc so you'd arrive at their location, there's a big difference between a wound and being launched like that, hope you're not afraid of heights." Tundra responded, smirking slightly at the mention of heights.
"I know how to close my eyes, sir. With all due respect, I hope that you have a way to slow me down enough so that I don't break every bone in my body on impact."
Tundra's smirk grew wider as he spoke. "No can do, I can dampen the impact enough to just give a few bruises, slowing you down instead would be way more draining energy-wise for me, essentially all I can do is make sure you don't turn into a pancake on impact."
Cosmic says, with a smirk of his own, "Tundra, Why not show him the relocation ability of Atala. They do have one of Atala's lander craft there, right? It would be easy for Atala to lock onto the craft's location and send him there via the transport algorithm."
Vigilant briefly glances over in Cosmic's direction, the distrust showing in his eyes, "I've had my fair share of bruises, sir; nothing that a bag of ice and mommy's kisses can't fix; fire when ready."
Cosmic gets on the com and says, "Is there a specific reason why starlight needs Vigilant? Please tell me she didn't break her mechanical arm again."
"Whada ya mean again?" Starlight yelled through the communicator.
Cosmic says, "How many times do you think I had to repair the darn thing for you? I also haven't figured out why the darn thing hates magic so much."
Blue picked up her communicator "Is there anyway to at least partially fix it out here? If not i will cancel the expedition inland and order a return." she said.
Cosmic says, "
Well, there should be one of the techs that I had met before we started with y'all." cosmic is also continuing to add the new clearance system. He is also finalizing the engine protocols.
((You could have an NPC that is part of Cosmic's tech team there.))
Spoiler: New Clearance System show
Blue = foals fillies and colts. this is the base clearance level
yellow = adults. To advance to, one must discover their special purpose or what they are really good at.
orange = main worker personel. To advance to, one must have a position within one of the following areas, Tech and maintenance, medical, architecture or command.
Red = Core Extension. One must become part of the core. there is about 6 known glitches that currently have this program offline even after the reactivation of the clearance system.
Tundra huffed and gave Vigilant a nudge with his hoof to draw his attention before walking towards the exit of the room. "Right, follow me then." he simply said, expecting the royal guard to follow as he headed towards the docks, while he wanted to give the guard a little flight he couldn't very well do so through several walls even if he was very much tempted to do so.
Vigilant follows Tundra outside, slinging his arc caster about his neck as he prepares for the ride of his life.
Tundra didn't really take much time with preperations, he did make sure to place several safety measures upon the guard, like making sure the sudden pressure change wouldn't kill him, that impact wouldn't do much damage and such. "Right, ready to go, I'm gonna spare you a countdown." The runic mage announced while seemingly looking over the protective runes placed on the earth pony, they'd deactivate shortly after impact so it wouldn't be too much of a drain, now all that was left was launching Vigilant.
Ofcourse, Tundra didn't bother giving the guard a warning, just blasting him off with no indication of even preparing to do so. Just suddenly giving the guard a light poke and then the next thing he knew he was flying through the air at a speed best described as "pretty dang fast", getting quite a nice view of the city as he flew off.
Had he had the capability, Vigilant would be yelling right now. However, the suddenness of his departure coupled with the ludicrous speed that he was travelling at now had effectively knocked the wind out of him. Trying his best to move his legs, he grabbed hold of his arc lance and held it close, preventing the strap around his neck from strangling him. Unable to open his eyes due to the high wind resistance, Vigilant kept them shut and braced himself for the inevitable impact.
Tundra chuckled as he watched the guard fly off, Tundra had been lying slightly in terms of locating the exploration team, he could feel the general distance and direction, but not accurate enough to teleport safely. "Ah well, he's probably not gonna miss them by much, heh." Tundra remarked to himself as he walked back to Cosmic to tell him of the guard's departure and also to go over his work a few more times, better safe than sorry.
As Blue and Starlight are busy trying to figure out what to do about Starlight's leg, a loud whistle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr-b98g2ahE#t=5) becomes audible, growing louder until finally a red dot can be seen up in the sky. It glows brightly from slight deceleration before Vigilant is promptly reacquainted with the ground in a most intimate manner, coming to a stop 50 feet from the others.
Blue immediately galloped to the charred shape of a pony, followed by the two golden machina, prepared to give first aid if needed.
Vigilant slowly raises his head and shakes it violently in an attempt to dislodge the ludicrous amount of sand that has decided to occupy his cranial orifices. After a quick SITREP of his mouth, he found that at least one tooth was AWOL and another was beginning to regret not signing up as a molar. Other than that, his coat felt like it was on fire, which was rather strange because he could have sworn he put it out half way through the flight. Shakily extending a hoof, he tentatively attempts to stand, gritting in pain as his body decides it has had enough abuse and threatens to go on strike.
(( You have no idea how fun this was to type lol ))
// lol lol lol
Blue charged her horn and tended to the soldier, repairing his teeth effortlessly, easing the sensation of burning across his body and then giving him a shot, preventing his body to shut down.
Back in his prime condition, Vigilant brings himself to his hooves, shaking his head once more for good measure. He looks over to Blue for a moment before walking over to where Starlight lay, not even bothering to mumble a thank you. As he approaches her, he stands up straight, bring his right hoof to his brow in a well-practiced salute, "You called, ma'am?"
Blue puffed her cheeks "Someone forgot to learn manners when they were a foal." She thought, but decided to let it be for now, she'll deal with him later.
Cosmic looks up from his work when tundra returns and says, "Did the guard have a pleasant 'flight'? To be honest with you he was starting to get on my nerves. I am the one who looks over and repairs his gear. he should at least hold some respect for his maintenance pony. I think he will be getting repairs from one of the lesser experienced techs with us for a while." Cosmic then goes back to work while waiting on Tundra's repy.
=== With the expedition. ===
((I am going to borrow an NPC technician for a bit. Hope this is ok with you Blue.))
A Unicorn mare technician comes over to starlight and begins examining her mechanical arm. She sees the three problems with the arm and fixes them. She says, "[glow=purple,2,300]Your arm should be working fine now. I also readjusted the magi receiver to that it shouldn't react to magic overload again at least till we get back. I also took this opportunity to upgrade the ammo field system you should be able to fire more shots now as well before it needs to recharge and I also added a safety code so you can no longer hurt yourself if you accidently shoot yourself again.[/glow]"
((Control returned to Grizzly of the tech NPC.))
//like i mentioned, if you want to use an NPC feel free to
Seeing that her arm is fixed, Vigilant offers his hoof to Starlight, "Let me help you up, ma'am."
I walk into the room "oh hey cosmic and tundrasorry i took so long the Eta on my map was way off" i explain noticeing that they both look very happy about something"did i miss something?"
Cosmic says, "Naw, you didn't miss anything. So what is the status of our armories?" Cosmic is by a terminal working on some the the cities programs making sure nothing conflicted with the new codes he added and finalizing the new codes.
"Funny you should ask that,it seems they have not been touched in a long time the place is fully stocked as if they were prepering for a war" i finish project the results into a hologram
Cosmic looks over the inventory list and says, "Well I'll be the son of a manticore. They have just about everything you can think of in stock. From capture drones to kill droids, Hoof held to dual hoof weapons, armors galore and my personal favorite anti-mechanoid battle armors. You are right about one thing, this looks as if somepony was about to go to war and I can probably guess as to whom the target was." Cosmic looks over his code one final time before saying to Tundra, "Done here tundra. We can start the engine tests when your ready. By the way, would you like to have a look at a runic based mega mana cannon? We have 6 of them in the transport hold." Cosmic seams to be excited beyond belief at the shear size of the armory's inventory and vehicle stock.
((Think Heavy Tanks, when you think of what a runic based mega mana cannon is.))
My ears perk up "a mega mana cannon sweet were is it?" I say looking very excited
Tundra perked up at the mention of the weapon, "They have those here? And there's six of them? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited, though I guess we should do the tests first, oh and that annoying guard? He had a nice flight, probably burt into flames for a few seconds during the flight, impact probably knocked out a tooth or two, nothing Blue can't fix with her medical capabilities."
"So thats that noise i heard and also why you and cosmic were grinning"i smile which quickly goes into a laugh "so wait are you telling me you flung him from here to blue? " i keep on laughing
Tundra's grin widened as he nodded. ""Blasted" might be a better word than "flung", and he can't exactly complain either, he turned down using Atala's teleport systems, probably out of paranoia though it would have gotten him both a bit closer and far less uncomfortably there, if they need even more help I might blast over there myself, though I can deal with the travel far more comfortably myself."
Cosmic says, "They have one of the tech team with them. They should be fine unless something comes up. According to Maplewood's inventory list, they have just about everything one can think of having when one is going to war verses something. Let me know when you are done wit the runic side. All codes are in place. Awaiting Blue for final activation confirmation. By the way, She will be our only red clearance. Most of the team should have yellow or orange clearance. Only true children with the team will have the blue clearance. Tundra You and I, based on our specialties will have orange clearance.
And grumpy things like this fall under up to orange clearance. No more of this core extension only crap. There will be areas for the Core Extension only but those will be few and far between, where the tech and medical teams are concerned. everything is now in the system. We also took the liberty of fixing the cascading glitch and your internal and external sensors."
after calming down from my laughing fit i reply"Ok that sounds fair, but there just one problem iv been looking on this list and there seems to be an extra item" i say scrolling down to the bottom "and from the looks of it its reactive almost like uranium?"
Starlight scowled at Viligant and aggressively yelled."That's commander to you, whelp! Sheesh you **** me off."
Blue only rolled eyes. "Are we ready to head inland?"
Vigilant withdraws his hoof, looking down at Starlight. His face remains impassive, but his eyes speak volumes that he would never say out loud: You want to hear something funny? If the two of us were walking around in public, I would tell everypony we meet that you're my daughter. You want to know the best part? They'd believe me.
Instead, he says, "Sorry, Commander. Do you still need my help?"
Blue only sat down, waiting for the two of them to finish their business.
Starlight put out her hoof, but she planned to pull Vigilant down to the ground instead of get up.
Grabbing Starlight's robotic arm, Vigilant is unprepared for the sudden force as he is pulled off his feet and reintroduced to the ground in a most intimate manner for the second time today.
(( Fixed from original ))
Blue stood up and simply started to walk inland by the previously described path, followed by her two golden machina shadows.
after closer inspection i start to see hidden items behind the main folders "what is this, blueprints?"
((The robotic hoof has taken down alot of thinks, even Ol' Big Mac, so it is VERY strong))
(( Right then, one second... ono )
(( Fixed ))
Cosmic says, "Those are indeed blueprints. But it is for something I do not yet know of. For now lets leave it at that and have blue look at it."
((Still waiting on tundra to finish with his runes..))
Starlight got up, dusting herself off. "Why did I get stuck with you?"
Vigilant brings himself back up to his feet, his eyes burning with intense fire but his features remaining otherwise professional, "You would know better than I, Commander."
Starlight saw the anger in Vigilant's eyes and smirked. "Whatever, just remember to keep your opinions to yourself, or else."
"Understood, Commander."
Internally, Vigilant couldn't help but smirk. If this filly wanted to play war, then he'd let her play whatever part she wanted. He wondered how she even got into the special forces, let alone why she was chosen as commander of the operation. Had she even seen a dead body before? It didn't matter, high command chose her for the job, so they must know what they're doing. Those b*****ds.
(( Spoiler alert, Vigilant has a tragic back story that I am totally not begging you to try and force out of him some time in the future 0:) ))
// sometimes i feel like i'm the only pony without a tragic backstory :/
Blue had just about enough. "Are you two coming or am i to order you to get your butts back to town and leave the exploration to the big girls?" She called, not even turning to them, and walked on along the path.
((XD Starlight's taken lives))
Starlight looked over to Blue and hurried after her.
Tundra just nodded in response to Cosmic's asking if he was ready to test it. "Been ready for a little while now, just start the test whenever you want, I'll disable any matrixes that get too unstable."
(Eh Tundra's got a pretty normal life except losing a close friend and going beserk on a small town responsible for the loss of said friend shortly afterwards.)
Blue walked on, the path proved somewhat difficult for her. She remained silent, and asked the others to do the same, listening to the jungle forest. It was very quiet, only sound one could hear was the stepping of hooves on dried dirt, and the somewhat silent iron steps of the machina following. The purple vegetation of the forest only growing thicker and thicker the more inland they were. And then, out of nowhere, they reached a clearing. An approximately two kilometers wide circle free of all vegetation and a small structure in the middle, small and resembling mayan architecture.
Keeping behind Starlight, Vigilant observed his surroundings. Coming upon the clearing and the ruins, he halts and looks it over. Unsure what to think, he simply waited for Blue and Starlight to decide how to best continue.
Starlight looked to Vigilant. "You, go scout ahead."
Turns to Starlight, bringing his right hoof up in a salute, "Roger that, Commander. Do I have your permission to take a team (5 ponies) or squad (10 ponies) with me, as well?"
Starlight shook her head and pointed her robotic hoof at the structure. "No, go alone, we will send others in if you do not return in half an hour."
Blue looked at one of her golden followers and waved her hoof. "Take him with you, make sure he doesn't mess something up." She ordered, it would seem that her command was more to the machina then to Vigilant.
//sorry for the animosity towards Vigilant from Blue >.< Nothing personal, really, and Blue is normally a sweet mare, it just feels better this way
(( Lol it's fine, Vigilant is a total butt anyway :3 ))
Realizing that Starlight was actually trying to get him killed, Vigilant does his best not to burst out laughing at her cheekiness as he salutes once more and heads out in the direction of the ruins. One of Blue's machinas follows him, but he ignores it considering he was never trained on commanding them. Walking on three legs with his right hoof cradling his arc lance, he ascends the pyramid (( Assuming it's a pyramid )) and observes what he finds.
// could be called that, anyway, i think we should wait for Saiko to react
Saiko emerged from behind with a peach trilby and he appeared to eating some form of red vegetation. He stares at the chase scene as if he was simply watching a movie. "Shouldn't we stop him?" he spoke out casually.
"I don't see why." blue answered Saiko's question.
Upon reaching the summit Vigilant could see a opened door leading to stairs heading down.
Upon looking around, Vigilant brings his communicator to his mouth, "Commander Starlight, Sergeant Honor." Upon receiving confirmation, he would report, "Area is clear. I've found an opening leading further down into the pyramid. Do you have any further orders, break."
Blue picked up her communicator. "Apply scanning drones, map the area, do not engage. And you Vigilant, wait for Starlights orders." she said, the gold machina with vigilant opened 3 hatches on his back and small levitating gold balls flew in the pyramid, emitting blue light that hit the walls and advanced.
Starlight motioned for two more ponies to join Vigilant. "Sending reinforcements, be careful. I need you alive."
"Roger, Commander. Out." Turning off his communicator, Vigilant chuckles under his breath and wonders how hard it must have been for Starlight to accept that.
Starlight sighed and turned to Blue. "I was hoping for a bigger adventure than this personally..."
// you meant to Blue, right? :')
"Careful what you wish for, i have a bad feeling about this." Blue whispered and sighed. The mapping drones suddenly went silent, but from what they managed to map the place was a maze.
Starlight sighed. "So do I, lets just make sure we get back to the city before nightfall. Oh and can my room get lined with lead?"
"Lead? What for?" Blue tilted her head and questioned.
"N-No reason..." Starlight lied, a bead of sweat on her head.
"Then no." Blue answered very quickly, without even thinking.
"I-I need it!" Starlight stammered.
"What for?" Blue questioned again and stared at the pyramid.
"I can't say..."
"Then i can't allow it."
Starlight growled slightly, almost like a dog...
Blue ignored Starlight's growl. "The city wont allow such metal in one's room unless given a very good reason." She explained.
((yes I am back everyone.))
Cosmic says into his com system, "Hey Blue. Would it be ok If I took over one of the construction labs, for a large project I would like to work on? I just finished blue printing it before we left, but never had the equipment or the time before to work on a proto type."
Cosmic looks to Tundra and says, "We'll begin engine testing once blue gives final confirmation of activation. Until then, we should have a closer look at what this place has in terms of possible science labs and tech factories. We should also get a full technical readout of the place, just to make a more efficient mapping system."
"Alright, go ahead. Just make sure to let me know what you're working on when i get back" blue sayd to the communicator.
//welcome back ^-^
"Can i go and look something over in the tech factorys cosmic" i ask hopeing for a yes
Cosmic looks to Mapplewood and says, "Sure but for now stay close to me. I am heading that way anyways, because the items I need for my project are there."
Tundra nodded and did one last look over the various runes and matrixes he'd worked on to make sure they were stable before getting up and moving towards the exit of the room, stopping and looking over at Cosmic. "Cosmic, do you know if there is somewhere suitable for me to research runes? Preferably somewhere spacious with an insulating metal laid into the walls, they have to be pretty durable too. I'm considering moving my research base from Equestria to here when we get the portal up again, so I'll need somewhere durable that won't crumble like paper mache in case anything I work on blows up on me."
Cosmic says to Tundra, "There are research labs on the 6th floor, just outside the library. They are designed, by the look of it, for spell research. You might try there. If nothing, use the coms and contact blue." Cosmic heads out to the tech factories to find the lab he had seen in the blueprints of the place. Hopefully it is as equipped as he hopes it is.
Tundra nodded and walked off, heading towards the location Cosmic mentioned to see which ones would be suitable for his purposes, already having devised a testing regimen that would cover pretty much everything he was worried about from leftover magic radiating outwards to magically powered explosions.
Starlight sighed."Blue, can you keep a secret?"
Blue turned to Starlight. "Of course i can. Can they?" She pointed to the ponies around them.
The-They can't know..."
Blue sighed and closed her eyes, charging her horn and creating a connection with Starlights mind. "There, just think and i will hear, i can do this only when we're close, so please don't go away."
'Okay... I've been bitten by something... I thought it was just a Timberwolf but now... I'm not sure.'
"Interesting. I can do a few tests when we're back in the city, if you want. And don't worry, i am always discreet. And the lead you need for what?" She questioned.
'Related reasons...'
Blue sighed. "Oh alright, you can get your lead. But, not in your room. I'll set up a room for you in the medical zone." she suggested a compromise.
'oh, fine...' Starlight replied via thought. 'Heh heh'heh... something added...
Blue tilted her head. "What?"
Starlight's eyes shot open wide, as she turned and knocked herself out.
"Arg..." Blue's horn decharged and held her forehead. "Don't do that..." She whispered and walked over Starlight to check her.
At just about the same time as Starlight knocked herself out Tundra had found a research room he deemed suitable and had brought up his communicator. "Hey Blue, I'm considering moving my research from Equestria to here when we get the portal up and running and I'm wondering if I can use one of the research labs here for it, do you have any complaints against that?"
As blue was checking Starlight she picked up her communicator. "Sure, i have nothing against."
Chibalt smiled, running a few more tests on the room before going to the library and starting the work of moving his notes into the lab, something that'd take him a while even considering he didn't move his notes on the Atalan language, just leaving them neatly sorted for anyone to read while he moved his research material.
Starlight looked fine, besides a small bump and what looked like internal conflict.
Cosmic headed to the factories. he found the work area he needed. it contained a large area for the item, the tools needed to make it, as well as easy access to the metal works to get the needed supplies. when he goes to check the metal works he says, "Avatar, Is there a reason the metal works is devoid of any materials, right now?"
((Blue avatar is yours to control.))
A voice was heard, yet no visual interaction happened. "When the metal works ceased production the material was disposed of, for safety reasons."
I apper behind cosmic huffing and puffing "god you walk fast, wow ths place is fancy looking" i say poking little cylinders laying around
Cosmic looks to Maplewood and says, "I don't walk fast I take big steps. I am unnaturally large for my type."
He then says into his coms, "Blue we got another problem. Repair work will slow down once we run out of our kits. We are out of metal in the metal factories. The system had disposed of it for safety reasons."
Cosmic examines the place.
"There should be raw material somewhere other than the metal works stored. Try asking about that." Blue suggested.
Cosmic says, "Avatar, is there any raw materials stored elsewhere besides the metal works?"
"Raw metal material is stored in hangar 5." the avatar's voice answered.
Tundra meanwhile was still working on moving all his research into the lab he'd picked out, most of said research being many loose notebook pages filled with writing. Eventually Tundra had finished moving his notes, even all the notes he'd put inside his room regarding runes had been moved into the lab though he'd mostly just shuffled them into a corner for now, the earth pony making a mental note to get some furniture, perhaps a bookcase when he'd get around to putting his notes together in a book format.
A short while later after some more pondering and a few re-shuffles of the notes he brought in and he was standing outside the lab. "Hey, AI, is there any location or method in the city suitable for sparring?"
An avatar appeared next to Tundra. "Define sparring."
Tundra huffed. "Practicing any specific form of combat, magic, hoof to hoof or a combination of the two, is there somewhere designed for this?"
"A suitable place would be the gym."
((I'm lost...))
Tundra raised an eyebrow at the answer. "And of the magical type? Is there somewhere I can practice my offensive magic against some form of opponents without having to worry about collateral damage?"
As Vigilant's "reinforcements" arrive, he scoffs at just how many Starlight had sent. Two ponies? Whatever, it was better than nothing. They introduce each other as one Private Defiant Shield and another Private Furious Lance, and inform him that this is their first deployment. Green as grass, but at least they're eager.
Once the formalities were done, Vigilant again raises his communicator, "Commander Starlight, Sergeant Honor reporting a confirmation on the arrival of those reinforcements. Before I begin further reconnaissance of the structure, do we have any idea of what we can expect inside, break?"
Starlight was still unconscious.
((Where's Naura?))
(( Should still be with Maplewood, whom I believe has now joined up with Omega and Chibalt in the city. ))
((Naura is with maple and I looking at some of the metal working factories.))
Cosmic decides to head to hanger 5. Before he does though he asks, "Is there any particular reason all the raw metal materials are in hanger 5? I just don't want to get jumped by anything unexpected is all. Also, can you mark the way for me to get to hanger 5?"
"Follow the blue path. Hangar 5 is designated for resupplying the metal works, raw material is stored there to be evaluated and used if quality checks are met."
"Wow they had everything planned out as if it was made to be self suficent" i say looking around at the many tools
"Hmm"
((Please, don't use "I said" format, please, "he said" DD:))
Tundra stared at the avatar he was talking to for a few more seconds before sighing and channeling some of his magic into his hooves, releasing it in a completely harmless fashion aside from increasing the magical pressure around him more than enough for any nearby sensors to notice. "Do I need to wait all day for an answer?" He inquired, hoping that he'd gotten it's attention again.
After waiting half a minute, Vigilant activates his communicator again, "I repeat, Commander Starlight, interrogative, do you have any further orders for us?"
"ok so cosmic what are we planning on doing with raw metal anyways?"he asked searching in some files which were being projected on his hoof
"Well the tech teams need more materials to get Atala back in full working order and I need them for a project I am working on. Avatar what do you know about Quantum Titanium?" Cosmic heads to the hanger following the path given. He also seams to be waiting for the avatar's reply about Quantum Titanium.
Blue talked to the communicator. "Starlight is unconscious for the moment. Proceed with cation. We have no information of what you can expect."
"What? Say again, did you say the Commander is unconscious?" Vigilant sounds annoyed and, in fact, is.
"Yup, she knocked herself out." Blue explained via the communicator.

Cosmic heads to the hanger following the path given. He also seams to be waiting for the avatar's reply about Quantum Titanium.
a transparent pegasus appears in front of Cosmic. "Term not recognized."
Although Blue can't see it, the look on Vigilant's face perfectly mimics the same expression one would give when walking in on your pet cat making a chicken cordon bleu which she claims is not for you, but the dog next door. The confusion of the scene is further compounded when she informs you that they're dating, which is strange because you could have sworn that she was in a relationship with the parakeet three doors down.
As the privates busied themselves trying to figure out exactly why a cat would make chicken cordon bleu for a dog, Vigilant finally responded into his communicator, "Er, I copy. My team and I are moving down into the ruins, time now." Snapping his pegasus and unicorn teammates out of their nonsensical argument (which was, honestly, best left unanswered), he began leading the way down the steps.
(( o.O ))
(( what the hay? lol ))
(( If you thought that was funny, I'd check out Jericho (https://www.fimfiction.net/story/5841/jericho), the fan fiction where I got this sort of humor from lol It does have mature content, but it is absolutely hilarious. Also, could you tell me what Vigilant's team encounters when they reach the bottom of the stairwell? ))
(( lol i'll check that, and yes i will, but i need to do some morning stuff now, in an hour maybe, sorry X3 ))
"And here we go agian" he says following cosmic and the blue markers
As the team reached the bottom of the stairs they could see a semi circular room with 5 corridors leading to somewhere.
As they followed the blue markers maple started to surf though the blueprint he had managed to sneak onto his personal file it read experiment railgun system code named Dora "dam this is a big gun" he whisperd to himself
Looking around to the five different paths, Vigilant stops and silently considers which path to take. After about 30 seconds of awkward silence, Defiant Shield uses his magic to take a d20 out of one of the pockets in his assault pack and rolls it on the ground. Turning towards the sound, Vigilant scowls at the unicorn guard, who quickly stuffs the die back in his saddle bags. Before turning back around, he growls, "Keep that virginity ward stowed, private."
Defiant sheepishly apologizes, allowing the awkward silence to continue. Finally, after a few minutes, Vigilant turns his head and asks, "What number was on the die?"
"Uh, 12, Sergeant."
"We're going down the middle path."
(( lol ))
The middle path had many dividing corridors, eventually, the group came to a staircase leading upwards, if they go upwards they'll see Blue and the others under the pyramid.
(( Wait, Blue and the others FROM under the pyramid or actually UNDER the pyramid, like they're actually there? ))
(( they didn't move, your party returned to the starting point ))
(( I'm confused :o So we've come out from a hidden entrance to the edge of the clearing where Blue and Starlight are? ))
(( the whole insides of the pyramid is a huge confusing maze, it simply led back to where you came, the stairs, thats what i meant, sorry for the confusion ))
(( Ah, ok. Going to post once more then off to bed. ))
Realizing that he had performed a loop, Vigilant stomped in frustration, "Looks like we're doing this the hard way. We're taking the first tunnel on the right, this time."
Tundra waited a bit longer for the avatar to respond, then sighed when it did not do so. "Ugh, will just have to settlefor a barrier then." He muttered to himself while walking to where he assumed the gym was, not bothering to ask about directions, he wanted to be able to navigate the place without using a map anyways.
Cosmic goes over to a council on the wall and begins to add a file into the central memory core. [Adding file: Quantum Mechanics Data, Quantum Titanium. files lists what it is made of exact composition with what it can do both defensively and as a special function. ((All data in the file is listed in OOC chat. Game Master has final say in the Item's abilities.))] Cosmic says, "Here ya go then, Avatar. This is everything I know on Quantum Titanium. As far as I know, it is one of the strongest materials on Equis."
Cosmic begins to go through the materials sending the good ones to the factories and the bad ones to be melted down and turn into other materials based on combination composition.
After a few seconds the file was scanned. "Material recognized, changing name to 'quantum titanium'." the local avatar said.
Cosmic asks, "What was the Material originally called?" he continues to go through the raw materials to find the ones for the material factories and for his own little side project. He is looking for the materials that make up what he calls Quantum Titanium.
"Qocel." The avatar answered

Realizing that he had performed a loop, Vigilant stomped in frustration, "Looks like we're doing this the hard way. We're taking the first tunnel on the right, this time."
The first path lead to another room, just like the one under the staircase, again with 5 more paths, and some age whitened bones on the floor.
Looking around at the five new paths, Vigilant begins to get a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. Looking back to the privates, he says, "Private Shield, do your thing."
Taking out the d20, Defiant Shield rolls a 1. Before either of the privates could make a critical fail comment, Vigilant says, "First path, again."
(( critical fail it is! ovO ))
As the group went in the first path a strange stench started to be very prominent from it. As one of the ponies looked behind them he could see that the path they came with was now closed. In the distance, unknown from which direction though, hoofsteps were starting to be more and more audible. A strange pattern to the steps, not the usual for claps, but just two.
Fearing a confrontation, Vigilant immediately started barking orders, "Team, form a perimeter! Private Shield, you're the unicorn here, give us a light spell!" The two privates formed up next to Vigilant, both of them shaking badly as the fear got to them. Hesitating at first, Private Shield cast his light spell, illuminating the area.
((Starlight didn't send you cowards.))

((Starlight didn't send you cowards.))
(( Not cowards, just green, unless they were supposed to be veterans, in which case I kind of gave you lots of warning that these guys were going to be noobs DD: ))
(( welp, sending noobs on a mission like this would not make sense lol I mean the whole expedition can't be absolutely green, they knew that it will be dangerous most likely, BUT having noobs will be fun, so let's go with it ;) ))
As the light illuminated the room, the ponies could see strange scratch marks on the walls, and more bones on the floor. The heavy steps in the distance grew louder and louder, a loud roar questioning the groups commitment.
The team held together, Vigilant's leadership giving the other stallions a boost to their confidence. Peering off into the darkness, they waited for whatever eldritch horror to step out of the shadows to face them.
A tiny red spot could be seen in the darkness, it swayed and grew larger and larger with each echo of the hooves. Soon the red spot split into two, and a little later a creature walked in the light. A horrifying bipedal furry creature. It's claws and horns seemed to reflect light like metal would, and the stench only got worse as the creature came close. In front of the group, in all its might and glory, stood a minotaur. But very different from Iron Will and others like him, more feral...
Spoiler: What you see show
Above the roar of the minotaur, Vigilant yells, "Private Furious, get in the air and start looking for weak spots! Private Shield, you're with me! Hit it with everything you've got!" Leveling his arc lance, Vigilant began to unleash several bolts of lightning towards the minotaur.
The lightning bolts hitting the minotaur caused it to make a few steps back, it was more annoying than damaging though. It smashed its claws in the wall and tared a chunk of it out, throwing it at Vigilant and roaring. The pegas looking for weak points could see several scars on the beast, but nothing that would yell "hit me, i'm a weak point".
Vigilant is able to jump out of the way and Defiant Shield is able to teleport. Desperate for any way to defeat the creature, Vigilant continues to fire on the minotaur, attempting to hit the extremities and head when possible while Defiant begins casting magical blasts at it.
The minotaur stumbled back some more, before extending his huge hands, his claws touching the wall on both sides, and lowering his head, he charged forward full force.
Defiant Shield is again able to teleport out of the way. Vigilant however, being an earth pony, must do things the hard way and attempts to dodge the charge.
(( Sorry if it's a little on the sudden side, but I need to go to bed. Night! ))
(( good night :) ))
(( Good morning :P Begin again when ready ))
Vigilant's dodge was successful. The minotaur slammed through the wall behind vigilant. As the dust settled the creature turned to Vigilant and let out another intimidating roar.
Looking up at Furious Lance circling above him, Vigilant yells, "What are you waiting for, Private!? Start firing!" All three unleashed whatever weaponry they had on the currently stunned minotaur.
Each hit the Minotaur recieved caused him to cringe and stumble, it covered its chest and head for a few seconds before roaring angrily, only to be meat by a few more hits. It covered itself once more and charged to the left, bursting through the wall and disappearing to somewhere.
"Um cosmic if you need me for anything ill just be over here" he points to a desk
Cosmic nods to Maplewood & Naura and says, "I could use a helping hoof getting the materials for my project, while getting the factories up and running again. Those drained Quantum gems will do as well. I found a few that were still whole but without power. They will make an excellent solar coating for the titanium to allow for solar absorption. You could help me collect a few bits of titanium. We will also need a fragment of magicite to finish it off.."
As the minotaur charges off to another part of the maze, Vigilant and his team regroup. "You all did well! When and if we get out of here, I'm buying a round of cider!" Also, planting several firm punches upside Starlight's and Blue's heads.
Looking about the room, Vigilant looks for an exit.
The exit, sealed at first, was now clear, the minotaur crashed through the solid stone door previously. The golden machina stood behind the door now. The communicator came to life. "Hey, we heard some weird noises, everything alright in there?" Blue questioned.
Walking over to the machina, Vigilant said, "Oh nothing here of note, just a nigh-immortal minotaur that tried to kill all of us. Speaking of that, I speak for most everyone here in that we would very much appreciate if you didn't mind us getting our flanks out of this place, thank you very much."
"W-What? Minotaur? Well, what the hay are you waiting for, an invitation? Get your flanks out of there! Machina 0982, provide covering fire if needed." The machine unfolded, revealing its cannon like objects.
Accepting Blue's words as an invitation, Vigilant and his team went back the way they came and reappeared on the outside of the pyramid, continuing on back towards Blue and Starlight.
All this time Starlight remained unconscious, although now she looked like she was in agony as well...
He sighs "will it take long i was really excited in looking at these blueprints" he finishes
cosmic says, "Don't worry to much. those blue prints of yours will come in quite useful if you can make the item. It won't take long we just need to get our supplies and get the analyzer for this cargo bay up and running. I will handle the analyzer. Would you be a good friend and find about one small stack about pony size of titanium and a fragment of magicite about the size of your head. This will be all I need and then we can get your supplies while the analyzer is working on the rest of the materials."
Cosmic goes over to the large material analyzer and starts working on it to get it up and running again to begin sorting out the materials from the opposite side Maplewood starts from. It will take him time to get the analyzer up and running. He says, "Maplewood, I would suggest not coming near me once the analyzer is up and running. That is as long as I am near it. It will take me a bit to get her up and running."
Cosmic motions for a few more tech team ponies to join him to bring the analyzer back online.
Suddenly there was a rather large burst of static from all the communicators, shortly followed by Tundra muffledly yelling something, a rather long string of curses judging by the tone. A few seconds later and the static died down and Tundra's voice transmitted. "Sorry about that, I think I'll need to make my communicator a little more resilient against excess magic, used a bit much I think." He quickly explained before adding on "h and good news, there's a gym here." before switching his communicator back to recieving.
Tundra sighed and glanced around the gym after he finished talking, he'd used the same runes as he'd used in his room to expand it, almost doubling the size of the gym and leaving plenty of empty space for him to practice after having put up enough barries. He'd actually managed to make a barrier somewhat sloppily and subsequently broken it, resulting in quite literally a bit of a blast, thankfully nothing had been damaged.
A few more checks on that the various equipment in the room was not damaged confirmed this, nothing had really changed about anything in the room aside from the walls having some scorch marks in some places though those could be easily cleaned. He checked it one more check then he put up the barriers again, creating what looked somewhat like a shimmering cube with him inside it, and went back to training his magic through a pretty simple method, divide it into two and make the two equal forces push against eachother, working almost like a physical workout except for magic instead.
((Might've been a bad description of that.....meh, oh and if anyone heads into the gym they're probably gonna pretty quickly notice the glowing cubic barrier, that thing about dividing one's own magic and just putting it into a pushing contest was just something random, figured it'd be the mage's equalient of going to the gym, just with a much higher risk of magical explosions.))

((And I felt like just doing SOMETHING))
Maple chuckles as he starts to look for the parts "im trying to decide if that was a nice coment or your just makeing fun of my head" he finishs saying finally finding the stack of titanium.
Blue quickly rushed to the ponies exiting the pyramid. "Anyone need medical attention?" she questioned, and without waiting for an answer she examined one after the other.
Cosmic says, "It was a literal description of the item I needed. The Magicite needs to be about the size of a pony's head at least, or else it won't work. BTW could you read off the blueprint you found to me again. I am finding it hard to not think about the blueprint and work on this analyzer." Cosmic continues to work on the analyzer with the rest of his tech team, while waiting on Maplewood's response.
"What's that?" Naura asks and points at the titanium.
As Blue approaches, Vigilant says, "Negative, we're a-" only to have his personal space denied. Rolling his eyes, he let Blue have her fun trying to find anything wrong with him or his team.
Suddenly, a burst of static from the communicator causes everypony to jump, only for Tundra to reply and explain what was going on. Vigilant lowers his hoof, shaking his head. Eggheads.

"What's that?" Naura asks and points at the titanium.
Cosmic says, "
That is Titanium. It is needed both to get some things online and for a project of mine. It is one of the strongest materials known to pony kind." Cosmic examines the titanium for quality. the tech team continues to work on getting the analyzer online for the rest of the material sorting.
Blue only raised an eyebrow on the static communication burst, she was fully focused on checking the party for injuries. "Alright, no injuries detected. And sorry, its a sickness of the trade." She giggled and turned her attention to the pyramid.
Slightly irritated for other reasons, Vigilant says, "Was it too hard for you to inform us that the inside of that place was a labyrinth? I saw those machines you sent in earlier, so what is your major malfunction?" He is now glaring at Blue, demanding an explanation.
"Excuse me? I did say that according to first scans the place looks like a maze, and that i've lost contact with the scanners. What are you listening with, your tail?" She growled at Vigilant. "And i am still your superior, so i suggest you keep that tone to your self."
(( Didn't see that you said that, only that you noticed it :/ ))
"With all due respect, you almost got myself and my team killed! If you have plans to us down there again, we're going to need more ponies. A lot more."
(( she didn't say it, she only thinks she did ))
"I don't even know what this pyramid is for. Maybe we should leave it alone." Blue said and rubbed her head.
"Fine by me."
"Alright, we'll wait for my other machina to return before..." A loud explosion interrupted the small blue mare, she facehooved. "Nevermind. The expedition ends here, returning to the city." She started to walk back to the ship, followed by the other machina.

"Oh, what project? I really doesn't know anything around here..." Naura says with a voice between sad and curious.
A pony picked up Starlight and carried her back to the ship. "Why'd she knock 'erself out Blue?" the pony asked.
"I have no idea, we need to get her to the med station." She said and quickly moved to the ship.
Following Blue back towards the ship, Vigilant wondered exactly what that explosion was.
"D'you guy's smell wet d'g?" the pony asked, Starlight smelt of it slightly.
Blue turned to the pony. "What's a d'g?" she tilted her head.
Cosmic continues to analyze the material of titanium for its quality and says, "The project is something I have been working on sense I was in school. I am what one would call a technological genius. The project was originally a science fair design and never to be built but with what we have been through already I think it will come in quite well with what could be coming."
Maple looks over it "i dont know if thats a good idea cosmic" he finishes tickering with it.
Cosmic looks over to Maplewood, once his analysis was done and asks, "Why do you think that? The device on my hoof is also part of that design. There are more of these where this one came from. This was my latest design of the hoof mounted data system. Also your blueprint may be a design that will come in quite useful to us all when it is done. I saw the design but it still seams to need work. I was just wondering about it that is all."
Maple shakes his head "its not that theres a letter pinned with it addressed to the board of military directers" he looks down to the bottom of the letter suddenly his face s a look of suprise cross his face "cosmic i think we my have fond a defence weapon here?".
Cosmic smiles and says, "may I see those blueprints? I think we will need them more then ever now. we are in unknown lands and what ever took out the beings here, will more then likely come back." Cosmic goes over to Maplewood and holds out a hoof for the blueprints.
((Blue, you can decide what Cosmic finds on the blueprints, if Maplewood hooves them over to Cosmic.))
"A d'g, y'know, those furry animals that bark alot."
"Oh, you mean a dog. Yeah, that would be Starlight..." Blue said with a sigh. A laud roar sounded from behind them, Blue froze in place and slowly turned around, only to see the minotaur from before, now out of the pyramid's labyrinth. The two gold machina going to engage the creature. "To the ship, quick!" She ordered, took Starlight on her back and charged her horn while closing her eyes. A gust of red energy and the two were gone, teleported on to the beach. With Starlight on her back Blue galloped on board, lying Starlight in a bed and strapping her in, then preparing the ship to depart and waited for the others.
Naura just looked when the prints got handed over, not knowing what she should do.
"MOVE!" Not that Vigilant's other teammates needed an order, everyone made a quick beeline for the ship, strapping themselves in.
As soon as all members were on board they could hear two loud explosions followed by a roar. "A state of the art combat machine, reduced to dust just like that." Blue only stares at the rising smoke in the distance as she manipulates the controls. The ship comes to life and backs up slowly, as they were far enough they could see the minotaur on the shore, roaring at them, even trying to hit the ship with stones. Luckily the ship was far enough to be safe.
Suddenly the group saw a bite mark on Startlight. Her coat is black and blue around the wound. There also appears to be thick hair growing around the edge of it.
maple sighed as he handed them over "fine here you go but be careful they look really old" he finishes walking away his shoulders slumped in a sadden way. as he walked away he kicked the nearest thing to him which happens to be a energy crystal that had been placed on the ground while they were looking for the parts.
Post Merge
Aftr kicking the crystal it started to spin, then suddenly with a loud bang it exploded emiting a bright flash of light and sending maple flying across the room into a set of steel pipes (good bye this is the last post ill be making till i get back).
Cosmic's device activates putting up an energy shield around Cosmic and Narua as the explosion happens. After the explosion happens, Cosmic rushes over to Maplewood's side and says, "Avatar, Three to transport to the medical bay now."
The avatar doesn't even answer as a flash moves the three in question to the medical area, a medical Avatar waiting for them already.
Tundra stumbled into the medical area just moments after the three had teleported in, the rune mage looking like he was about to say something, though noticing the unconcious Maplewood and stopping, deciding to wait just a little bit.

Blue had no time to take note of the change, she had to concentrate on steering the ship. The trip back will take the same time as the trip there, approximately six hours.
Cosmic places Maplewood on the table and says, "Energy explosion with a nearly drained energy crystal. It knocked him right how. Please analyze Maplewood for long term injury."
((I guess the description of Maplewood's injuries would be left to Grizzly, the RPs Game Master.))
(( Y.... you didn't just destroy a antimatter crystal in my city... did you? IF so, we're all dead :I ))

"I don't know, we need to get her to the medical bay as soon as possible. I have a hunch though..." Blue said while steering the ship. As soon as they were at open see she sat down, pulling out a small notebook from her saddlebag and started to write, occasionally checking on what was going on in front of the ship.
Captains log - Entry Two:
We were to the landmass and discovered something like a pyramid with a maze in it. I wonder if that story has its origin here...(( decided to make a "captains log" after every 'chapter' X3 what do you think of the idea? And yes, the landmass was Chapter two! :3 Advancing to Chapter three ))
((I mean that in this format, I would have come out and said that if the player did that The RP would pretty much be over because all players in it would have died from the catastrophic release of such energy.))
"Hey! Maple! Where are you going?" Naura yelled after Maple and ran after him.
"Don't leave me here..." Naura giggled like a little filly.
Tundra perked up at the mention of the explosion being caused by a drained energy crystal. "Really? He blew up one of those? Just gonna give you a tip, look for manaburn, fairly common injury where magic might be involved, and yes I know, I'm a bit battered, just focus on him for now."
Cosmic nods and says, "Yea...if it wasn't for my energy field system within the device on my hoof, me and Naura would be in the same condition as Maplewood."
Tundra shook his head. "No, you would all've been worse off, I think your energy field probably worked somewhat like a mana drain, there's still a bit of it dabbed on that device of yours. Anyways it probably absorbed most of it, so don't be all glum about it, if you hadn't used it things probably would've gotten a lot worse."
Several hours passed by and the ship finally reached the Atala's docks. Blue steered the ship to an empty port where the automatic systems of the city hooked and anchored the ship. Blue walked to Starlight, still strapped in, unlocked the straps. "Vigilant, you and your guys are free for now, go and rest, or whatever, i'll take care of Starlight. Avatar, two to transport, medical bay five." She proclaimed and disappeared in a flash of light, as well as Starlight. Once in the medical bay 5 she declared a twenty-four hour quarantine and placed Starlight in the medical bed, starting her full scale examination.
Starlight had a major bite-mark and was suffering trauma. The bite was the same as before, besides the peculiar hairs were thicker...
She also looked like she was fighting something within her.
Blue took advantage of the medical miracles in the city, focusing her examination on and around the bite mark. She took blood and fur samples, and injected Starlight with a mild sedative. Then she took the samples under the microscope. Her back was turned to Starlight, and she was fully focused on her tests.
Suddenly Starlight became active, her eyes dilated slits. She looked up hungrily and slowly got to her hooves, sneaking away from Blue. She however found the door locked... She also made enough noise to get Blues attention... probably.
(( The medical bay we are in is locked down in a quarantine, and there is noone else but us ))
True to his words earlier, Vigilant took Defiant and Furious out on the town and immediately began looking for a bar. Unfortunately, whatever culture built this city was not so enlightened as to have such a building that catered to that very basic of equine rights, so they settled for a few bottles of fruit juice they found in the cargo hold. After a short swim in the sea, the privates relaxed on the beach while Vigilant started building a sand fortress complete with sharp stakes, a moat, and a foxhole.
(( Giant crabs are NOT a laughing matter! ovO ))

Suddenly Starlight became active, her eyes dilated slits. She looked up hungrily and slowly got to her hooves, sneaking away from Blue. She however found the door locked... She also made enough noise to get Blues attention... probably.
Blue didn't catch that noise, she was too concentrated on examining the samples she had, still staring in the microscope. She mumbled a few thing and then written in a notepad her findings and hypothesis while still staring in the scope, totally oblivious to her surroundings.
Starlight sighed, and mumbled something in a deep grouchy voice. Then she decided who her hunt would be, Blue! She slowly creaked up on her prey, only to fall over and whimper loudly as her face his the floor.
The busy blue mare finally noticed something was amiss and turned her head, only to see Starlight in the floor. She gasped and jumped to her side. "Starlight! Are you alright?" she questioned and did a quick check on her.
The wolf-pony got up slowly, hatred and anger in her eyes, along with a burning hunger. Suddenly she lunged at Blue, trying to hold her down.
Several factors helped Starlight hold Blue down. She was surprised by her action and she was a very small mare weak even for a unicorn were among them. As she lied on the ground she blinked once before folding her hind hooves and kicking Starlight off of her, then she rolled to her stomach and quickly stood up. "What has gotten into you, Starlight? It's me, Blue Star!" She tried to reason with the half wolf creature, but charged her horn with the crimson red flame of her magic as a precaution.
The wolf-pony grinned before howling loudly. She didn't bother replying, just attempting to take a bite our of Blue. She was swift, her gray-blue fur nearly blurred. Fury filled her blood red eyes, and a burning hunger filled her brain. For her it was a kill or be killed situation, and she was not going to yield.
Blue dodged each attack as well as she could. Though she was physically weak, she was very agile and fast. As she dodged she tried to reason again. "Starlight! Stop this madness! I'm your friend, remember? And if you never considered me a friend i am still your COMMANDING OFFICER! I order you to stand down!" She jumped back, creating some distance between herself and her opponent.
As Blue dodged her Starlight tried to halt herself, sliding face first into the door. Dazed she became vulnerable, and it was probably the best chance of stopping her!
Blue saw the opening she got, and as her horn was still charged, she unleashed a magic blast straight into Starlight. The magical energy of the blast was meant to stun rather than injure.
The already dazed wolf-pony was sapped of her energy, causing her to collapse.
Blue didn't take any chances, the jumped to the counter and opened it, taking out a syringe and filling it with anesthetics. She then quickly moved to Starlight and injected the sedative to her hoof, after which she used her unicorn telekinesis spell to lift her and place her on the bed. She sat down to take a sigh, then used some very powerful straps to hold Starlight down.
The sedative didn't last long, and Starlight was struggling to get free. When she temporarily gave up she howled in sorrow, very loudly.
Blue was catching her breath. "You wanted lead, Starlight. What for? Was it because of this? Does it somehow help you gain control, or change you back? Or is there a different reason all together?" She asked more herself than the raging beast strapped in the bed. Blue sat next to the bed, watching the half wolf intently and thinking. Then she stood up and walked to her microscope again. "Avatar, requesting three kilos of lead." She said and a brick of said material appeared.
Starlight suddenly seemed conflicted, part of her fearing the lead, another part desiring it.
Blue stared in the microscope again. She din't know what to do with the lead just yet, but she had a hypothesis. She took a small amount of lead and introduced it to the sample blood, to see how it will react.
Something happened in the sample. The Lycanthropic genome - the infection, changed. It was dominant before but now it was recessive. Somehow the lead had forced the genomes to alter themselves. However the blood sample was also poisoned.
Blue sighed and turned towards Starlight. "If i give you too much i will kill you. If i give you too little it will have no effect..." she thought out loud and prepared an injection of lead. She walked to Starlight with the injection and sat down, contemplating if she should inject her with it.
(( just a question, do you know about heavy metal poisoning? ))
(Yup)
Suddenly the wolf-pony agreed with herself, trying to break out harder mow, not wanting the injection. There must have been an easier way.
Blue sighed and put the injection away. "There has to be a better way." she looked at the brick of lead and thought for a moment. She took the brick and sliced it to small tails, then put a few of the tail on Starlights chest.
The beast within Starlight suddenly seemed weaker, it was working... Sorta.
Tundra meanwhile just wandered through the city completely at random, even using a few obscure nursery rhymes when not quite sure which way to go. He'd gotten checked up on by the medical AI after it had finished with Maple and checked Naura and cosmic after he'd insisted it to do so first, luckily he only had some small bruises so nothing much really needed healing, the bruises he took care of himself before leaving it anyways.
So essentially Tundra was wandering through the city's corridors at random, mostly looking for anything to catch his interest as he actually didn't feel like diving into research for once. Maybe he'd try finding an interesting book in the library or some texts to read through in the library, maybe not.
Blue sighed, picked up a notepad and wrote down her findings on Starlight's condition.
Starlight was still a wild beast - pouncing at Blue in rage.
Blue was scared of how feral Starlight is.
Blue had no choice - at least until Starlight became to tired, fight back...
Blue tried her best to keep Starlight restrained, using her body and her magic to keep her down.
Starlight wasn't letting up, her body was seething with a raging hatred. "You, no survive!" She still couldn't move, but she wouldn't stop trying to fight.
Blue held on. "Hope this passes soon, i would really hate to hurt you." she said more to herself than to Starlight.
"You, die!" Starlight roared, breaking free. She lunged in an attempt to eat Blue. She really was still just an animal. She suddenly seemed weaker though...
Blue jumped back as Starlight broke free. She lowered into a defensive position, pointing her horn at Starlight. Suddenly she got an idea. "A.I. activate artificial gravity and set it to fifty!" She ordered and the city complied, raising the gravity in the medical room fifty times, making movement impossible for Blue as well as for Starlight.
Starlight was suddenly grounded, and whimpering.
Blue was pressed against the floor, whimpering as well, but she would not relieve the gravity order unless Starlight would show signs of returning to normal.
"Stop, stop, stop, please!" Starlight begged, her form hadn't changed, but her personality had.
Blue, having her bones almost crushed by the gravitational forces didn't need another proof. "A.I. turn... of... artificial... gravity..." she whimpered through her clenched teeth as she endured the pressure, soon enough the gravity returned to normal.
Starlight kept whimpering as she covered her face with her paw-like hooves. "Sorry, don't do again, please."
(( Zeppelin? No, it's in a hospital in the city ))
((wrong RP, doom))
Blue remained motionless. "Y-Yeah, wasn't my best idea... but to my defense it looked like the best solution at the time... maybe next time less then fifty..."
Starlight didn't respond.
Blue only sighed and charged her horn, channeling a healing spell at her own damaged body. Even though the spell was a high level one, it won't heal her instantly.
Soon Starlight's body fell asleep to recover.
Blue continued to channel the healing spell, while wondering, how long have they been there? How long will the quarantine last? In any case she felt like there is no time to loose and stood up, taking another blood sample from starlight and returning to her notes and the laboratory equipment.
The blood sample was the same as before...
Blue was confused by the sample. "This doesn't make any sense. That would mean that she is still..." She froze up. "Ohoh..."
Starlight's form quickly returned to normal.
Blue turned to Starlight and watched her for a moment. Then the A.I. spoke. "Quarantine ended, releasing locks."
Tundra had through seemingly dumb luck had managed to wander to the outside of the quarantined medbay just as said quarantine was lifted, prompting him to quickly enter to check on the two.
Starlight was still unconscious, but she was shaking slightly.
as he opened up his eye (the screen on his cyber one was cracked)the only thing maple could think about was what, where and why he was strapped down on a medical bed. the answer came with a searing pain on his left side of his face along with a large parts around his body. "what the hay happened to me i feel as if i just got smacked with a hot iron" he groans trying to sit up only causing more pain.

Suddenly, at the beach where Vigilant's group was, a huge lobster appeared, it was the size of a bus, it set its sight on the castle and charged.
(( lol ))
As the lobster reared up out of the water, the two privates scrambled off of their beach towels and searched for their weapons. Meanwhile, Vigilant took up position in his anti-crustacean fortress, "I told you this would happen! Listen to your superiors next time!" His energy lance was already armed as he aimed for the creature's eyes and sent several bolts towards it.
The bolts to its eyes blinded the creature, it crashed full force into one side of the castle and snapped around.
Despite the sturdy construction, the sand castle partially crumbled on the side the lobster crashed into. Pushing his lance into one of the walls, Vigilant vaults over to the other side. Just as he does so, his other teammates return with their weapons. Furious Lance, the pegasus amongst them, flies around and begins zapping the creature from the side facing the sea, hoping to draw it back out into the water.
After awhile of struggling to get free which only caused more pain maple gave up and layed back down on the bed letting the pain subside. "Well whoever put me here didnt want me to get up." He sighed trying to close his good eye.
Tundra didn't take long to find Blue and Starlight in the med bay, looking relieved that they both seemed okay. "Hey, still alive there I see, managed to solve whatever made you quarantine this medbay?"
After awhile the pain stopped and maples boby became num in places
Blue closed her notes and sighed. "For now, yes." She sat in a chair. "I still have no real idea of what is going on though. So, for now at least, everything what happened in this room is confidential between Starlight and me as her doctor." She rubbed her chin and thought about a million things.
White slowly woke up, looking around in weakness and confusion before the memories returned to him again. "Ouch.. Wow. What a dre... nah, nightmare.", he whispered to himself, while getting up and stroking his mane out of his face.
Then he carefully looked around, kinda interested in where he might have been laid to rest and who might be here.
Blue was just placing Starlight in a medical bed as the city's A.I. came to life, informing her of a patient that woke up. She sighed and ordered and transport, disappearing in brilliant white light and reappearing again in the corridor of the medical bay White was resting in. She put on a white doctor coat and walked in the room. "Finally woke up, huh."
As he heard Blue's voice, White turned around, instantly recognizing her as the leader of the expedition. "Yeah... kinda." He smiled slightly and lowered his head. "Sorry for... you know... falling into this coma. Should have been there to do my job."
Blue smiled. "It's alright." She began a basic check of White's health. "You seem to be fit for duty, how do you feel?" she asked friendly.
"Not really bad. I got a slight headache, my muscles feel a bit too cold, but otherwise i am alright.", he explained, while flashing his horn and easily lifting a pillow from one of the empty beds. "And my magic seems to be ok too."
"Very well, you are free to go whenever you wish to then. You should go to the living quarters and claim a room for your own, after which report to your unit for briefing." She said her orders with a smile and left the medical bay.
White nodded friendly, then he lifted his saddlebag on his bag, and slowly stepped on the corridor. He took a moment to orientate himself, but then, by following the lines (and nicely asking some bypassing ponies), he soon found the living rooms and chose one just next to the exit.
"Huh... i am really starting to think that going with this expedition might be more work than i expected. But well, i am here for the adventure, right?" He slowly made himself comfortable, both unpacking the stuff in his personal packs onto a table, and scanning the room for any danger. But like the others knew from the AIs, there was nothing obvious.
After a while, he stepped out again, looking around for some ponies to talk to and to find his unit.
((I guess, i'll just wait until others are there too.))
Blue walked to her room as well, jumping in her bed, exhausted after the 24 hour long quarantine. While lying in her bed she red reports about the city from the team leaders as well as reviewing her medical notes.
Maple had now been stuck on the medical bed after waking up for a solid 6 hours. He had know this after looking to his left to see a clock that showed the time of day "this is starting to get very boring" he complained to nopony in particular since he was alone In the room.

The giant creature snapped its giant claws at the pegas, trying to capture him, or at least to make him stop with the zapping. The giant lobster, not possessing exactly extreme thinking power, continued to advance at the pegas, eventually ending up in the water.
(( Sorry, got poached by another RP group :( Allow me to revive this thread ))
Having drawn the crab back out into the water, Furious regroups with the others back on the beach. As Vigilant watches the crab searching for them, he says, "We need to get off this beach. Vacation's over, everypony."
He begins leading them in a gallop away from the shore and into the city. He eventually ends up outside the hospital before he stops and allows everyone to catch their breaths. He brings his communicator to his mouth as he sends a message to blue, "Sergeant Vigilant to Command, SITREP. I and the rest of my team had our vacations cut short by a crustacean of extraordinary size, and are now outside of what appears to be a hospital. Requesting orders, over."
(( its ok, i don't mind this RP being slow ))
Blue sat up as she heard the communicator come to life, she picked it up and started to give orders, holding her head. "Vigilant, you and your guys get to the command center for a full debriefing. I want every capable soldier to hold parameter, we are now at yellow alert, just to be safe." She said and sighed. 'A mare's job is never done.' she thought and got up, galloping to the command center.

After a bit of walking, Team Vigilant finally made it to the command center. While Vigilant pored over maps and memorized the various districts of the city (Downloading them to his multi-tool for good measure), the two privates did what most privates do while their superiors play around with maps: play rock-paper-scissors. After a few minutes that started to dull, so they moved on to seeing who could lean back the farthest in their chair without falling over.

((oh dang!))
Blue walked to the command center as her communicator came to life with an urgent message. One member of the expedition was in critical state, she was needed. Blue galloped fool speed to the room where Maple was, and as soon as she was there, after putting on a mask, she quickly started to heal his wounds, two nurses assisting as she preformed an internal magical surgery. The operation will take several hours.
An AI appeared in the command center.
"Welcome to the command center. I am Icarus, the defense avatar and i shall now record your debriefing"
Vigilant looked over towards the holo panel as the recruits stopped their heads just inches from hitting the table and looked as well. The sergeant rolled his eyes and groaned; he hated dealing with AIs, just put an actual aide in the room.
He approached the AI and spoke, "Mission debrief, Sergeant Vigilant Honor, Equestrian Expeditionary Force to Atala. At approximately 16:00 hours, I and my fireteam were conducting a brief combat patrol of the coastline when we were set upon by a giant crustacean. Thanks to Valiant Sword's bravery, we were able to lure it back out into the ocean and fall back into the city. Status of creature is unknown, assume alive and unharmed."
"Debriefing recorded. You are dismissed." The AI disappeared.
Blue continued her healing work on Maple.
((i have to go for now, so if you wish a time skip to where Maple is alright i'm OK with it.))
Maple had never felt better before in his life and not from somepony acknowleding that he was hurt but being healed. "Thanks doctor "maple coughed getting up his cybernetic parts still holding him up .
Tech gets on his communicator and says, "[glow=navy,2,300]Blue, ready on this end to spin up the main drive. The new engine program and algorithms are in place and active.[/glow]
Blue picked up the communicator. "Great, finally some good news." She smiled. "Do we have everything to try opening the portal?"
Tundra turned on his own communicator, it being somewhat distorted by the large amount of magic he was working with while repairing some of the runes responsible for the more minor systems, having put them off until now. "Think so, everything rune-related connected to the portal should be repaired and functioning properly, just give me a warning on when you're gonna open it and I'll be there."
"Alright. Tundra and Tech, meet me in the portal room." Blue ordered and turned off the communicator. She rubbed her eyes and yawned and walked to the portal chamber. Her eyes were baggy and her mane and tail messed up, she didn't sleep for the last two days.
Tech takes one look at Blue, when he gets there and says, "[glow=navy,2,300]We are not attempting to open a portal with you in that state. A medical pony should and must be at 100% when attempting something dangerous. You our fearless leader need rest. As the tech advisor of this expedition, I advise you not to open the portal till rest of at least medical approved length has been taken. In other words, take a nap captain. You need it.[/glow]"
Blue sighed. "Your concern is noted, appreciated and dismissed. I assure you, once we have the portal operational i will take a long rest. Now, are we ready to establish a connection?"
Tech says, "[glow=navy,2,300]Yes am ready on my end.[/glow]
Tundra appeared a little after Blue and Tech, pretty much the only indication he'd been doingreally anything being a ruffled mane and some already disappearing tiny scratches on his hooves. "Sorry, had to finish up a little repair of some of the rune installations, they're deteriorated to the point that if another year had passed they would just fizzle out and leave half the place in the dark. Anyways the portal should be operable for us magic-wise, and Blue, you seriously need to take a nap, or at least get something to help keep you awake."
"Don't worry, i already took something." Blue said ti Tundra with a sigh, she picked up her communicator and announced to everyone. "Alright, we are ready to activate the portal. Medical staff on high alert, just in case." She put the communicator down and walked to the markings on the ground near the portal, stepping on it with the golden hoof horseshoe/bracelet and closed her eyes.
The circuitry on the walls and floor started to glow, converting magical and electrical energy towards the portal, its inner rings started to vibrate and turn. The entire city shook gently as the ancient device started to come to life. The rings of the portal were glowing with a brilliant white light, and in the empty space in the middle of the portal something began to form.
Maple had been trying to find his room and walked in surprised and grateful to see some other pony he looked pretty battle worn with scar's all over his burned area.
Tundra frowned a little as he just realized something he hadn't thought of about the portal, something that really worried him. "I just thought of something a little unsettling, if we can run the portal from here and got here through it, what's stopping others from doing the same to get here or to our home?" He pointed out while watching the portal somewhat cautiously.
Blue wondered about Tundra's question. "That's a very good question. At this point the only thing stopping anything from going to our homes through here are we..." suddenly a yellow alert sounded, the portal shut down and the cities defense Avatar appeared. "Orbital anomaly detected."
Tundra flinched as the alarm suddenly triggered, turning around and looking at the defense avatar in a single motion.. "We can talk more about that later, let's see what the hay's triggered this alarm, the portal shutting down during an alarm is a bit annoying though, might look at that later. Avatar, what information do we have on it? A picture or something like that might help too."
Tech says, "[glow=navy,2,300]Avatar, defense code alpha, voice authorization rank level orange.[/glow]"
The runes on tech appear once again as he senses the orbital anomally. He looks like a walking rune matrix with them active. He turns to Blue and says, "[glow=navy,2,300]Lady Blue Star, request authorization level red for main drive activation.[/glow]"
"Ug, what now." Blue sighed and rubbed her eyes. "Authorization granted."
"456 seconds ago the stellar sensors detected a new object in the orbit of this planet.
Shape: Unrecognized.
Position: Low planetary orbit.
Detected an energy signature.
Suggested actions: Activate shields and concentrate on gathering data."
The city's defense avatar explained with a noticeable urgency in its voice.
Tundra huffed. "Low planetary orbit, that excludes any kind of asteroid, comet or such, energy signature narrows it even further, my guess is on a ship of some kind able to traverse space, if it's in a low orbit I might be able to get close and see what it is." He said while looking from the defense avatar to Blue, not really hiding all that much that he expected her to take a decision.
Blue covered her mouth and yawned. "Yeah, do that, just don't engage. Keep your distance."
Tech looks to Blue befor saying, "[glow=navy,2,300]Avatar, one to transport to comand bridge.[/glow]"
Tech readies himself for transport. Through his technopathy, he sends the authorization signal to bring the main motion drive and defense shields online.
Tundra rolled his eyes when she yawned. "Will do, and would you at least maybe check if there's anything more you can do tl stave off the sleepiness? Ask the avatar or something, I worry a little about you really, too little sleep without the proper techniques to compensate it cqn be deadly. And caffeine is not a proper technique." He finished before running off to the nearest area he could take off, arriving at the docks in about a minute and immediately blasting off with sufficient force to leave marks on the metal as he flew quite literally like a projectile towards what he assumed was the unknown object, praying he wouldn't smash into it by accident, something he could probably survive, sure, but knew was not a pleasant experience.
The defense avatar nodded and transported Tech to the command bridge. When Tundra could see the object with his own eyes he could make out a somewhat triangle shape, a very large object resembling a rock, there were not clear exhausts nor other typical signs of a ship, jet its stayed in place, orbitally locked with the planet.
((wish i could write more but i'm totally erased now X__X its after midnight, i need sleep, so goodnight))
On the main com system tech asks Tundra, "[glow=navy,2,300]So, hows it looking Tundra? Will we need to get Atala on the move?[/glow]"
Tech preps the city for lift off. "[glow=navy,2,300]Avatar, bring main drive core online. Shield systems to maximum output. Weapon systems on stand-by.[/glow]"
Starlight walked into the room tiredly, she smelt of dog. "What's goin' on..?"
Tundra circled around the...thing, for a few more seconds, though at the speed he was moving around it he got a decent look at it before heading back to the city, landing on the dock with a resounding slam and taking a few moments to recover before walking back.
"Not sure, saw nothing that ineicated obvious weapons of any kind, it did look odd though, like a triangular rock. For all I know it might be harmless or it might be dangerous, I say at least keep the shields going and wait for them to make a move."
The avatar nodded to Tech's order.
"Shields activated.
Status: 100%"
The entire city got covered by a blue-green bubble of energy, protecting it fully.
Blue walked to the command center, yawning all the way. "Note to self, three days is too much." she whispered before entering the room. "So what do we know so far? And how far are we with restoring the archives?" The tired mare questioned and lied on her stomach in a chair.
Tech tells Blue all he got from Tundra. "[glow=navy,2,300]Avatar, long ranged scanners please. Locking cords now.[/glow]"
Tech gives the cords for the object. He then says, in a computer like way, "[glow=navy,2,300]Access to archive records is currenly restricted to orange level and higher. Give voice confirmation for rank level scan.[/glow]"
Blue covered her mouth with her hoof and yawned. "Voice confirmation? I have red access, that's the highest clearance rank, so what am i supposed to say?" She was half asleep already, but shook her head to awake status.
Tech points to a console and says, "[glow=navy,2,300]you can use that one to look up the archives. I think I may need to practice some more. Avatar, cross refrence the object with known data. Red and orange clearance level access granted.[/glow]"
Blue nodded and wobbled to the console. "Searching through the data." She said and did so, comparing the readings they had with the archives.
"Fine, fine, i am following the assignment!", White said angrily, as he headed to the command center, a bright and annoying hologram stuck in front of his face. "Stubborn systems... can't even get some sleep."
After just a moment, he entered the central, forcing a smile on his face as the text disappeared. "Assigned Engineer Alpha-3 here. What's goin - i mean, what's the situation?", he asked, yawning slightly and looking around.
Tech smiles and says, "[glow=navy,2,300]Glad to see ya up and about again. Take station 3 if you will. You have been drafted to be navigator until one more qualified steps up. Blue, for now, would you mind if I go ahead and pilot Atala?[/glow]"
Tech turns on his com and to Tundra and says, "[glow=navy,2,300]Gotcha Tundra. Why don't you take the sensor station, when you get here.[/glow]"
Blue nodded and walked to an odd shaped chair and hopped in it. In a lying position a hologram displayed all she needed to know in front of her eyes, and via the interface stuck to her hoof she established connection. "We don't actually know how to fly this thing, do we?" She asked, but was prepared to improvise.
Tech says, "[glow=navy,2,300]If it is similar to what I flew back home, shouldn't be much of a problem. What's the status of our orbital friend?[/glow]"
White took another careful look at the big screen, before stepping to his console and launching his navigation systems, creating a more zoomed out hologram for himself.
"No strange activity, object is staying in orbit. The energy signature is changing a bit, but from the past readings it seems like that's normal. Also, if you want to fly Atala, i give clearance. Sky is clear... no storm or any known danger in scan range."
He smiled and nodded, before quietly turning back and running some side scans.
"Alright, my screen is saying that we don't have enough energy for longer flights." Blue said.
Starlight stared at everypony confused. "Wha-"
Maple chuckled "yea what's going on right now?"
Tech says, "[glow=navy,2,300]Nothing much but once we got mid range scanners online and activated the gate an object was detected. We have short range fight, long range travel will take time for central core to recharge. All extra systems on stand-by. Short range jump possible at a moment's notice.[/glow]"
Tech monitors the systems for abnormalities.
"Uhmm... Okay?"
