Basically, it is a bot set up to pokemon, so that commands put in chat (left, right, a, b etc.) control red. So you have 25,000~ people all trying to control red at the same time.
Probably one of the most infuriating and hilarious things ever.

They threw away their nugget and moonstone apparently :U

The problem I see with those is that you want to stay away from game overs/ timers
because one troll can just stop the entire game
that is a little harder to do with pokemon

That's not a bad idea at all... but special moves must be impossible to do in that case!
imagine how lucky you would have to be to do a quarter circle forward/back combination XD
