It was a few months since Loyal moved in with Starlight Glimmer...a few months since he reformed her, and stopped her from trying to prevent Loyal from existing in the future. He showed her what would have happened if she had stopped him from being born. I know what you're thinking: "How could the future have been destroyed, if Loyal still existed?"
Well, that's because in the past, teenage Loyal saw the evil Starlight Glimmer, and several years into the future, in Equestria, when he saw Starlight, he didn't bother trying to stop her, seeing as how powerful and evil she seemed, and as a result, she took over Equestria, and it eventually fell into ruin. But now, Starlight was reformed, and she made amends with all of her friends: Sugar Belle (who seemed to enjoy being around Loyal now), Night Glider, Double Diamond, Party Favor, and several other ponies. oyal eventually adjusted to life in the Equality Village, which is what he called it.
Anyway, now that the past has been explained, now on to the present.
Loyal was fast asleep, dreaming sweet dreams. Princess Luna visited him often, and the two would often play together. How, you ask? Well, normally, in his dream, it was nighttime, so they would spend time together by trying to find constellations in the stars. Loyal easily detected Orion, because of the three aligned stars. The two shared a close bond, almost as close as Starlight's. When Loyal was stressed, Luna would help him overcome whatever was troubling him.
As for Starlight, Loyal came to grow a crush on her. He really liked Starlight, as she .was always there for him, always there to comfort him when he was alone and scared. Normally, they hugged and nuzzled. That always worked. The two became more than best friends. They became soul mates. They became companions.
For the rest of the ponies, Loyal just became best friends with them. Party Favor would help to cheer Loyal up when Starlight wasn't around to, Night Glider would play games and/or chat with him, and Double Diamond would help Loyal learn to ski. Loyal would help Sugar Belle with her job, which was being a baker. He knew all these amazing recipes for cinnamon toast, bread, brownies, and cinnamon rolls. Sugar Belle had amazing business thanks to him. Loyal was a really good friend to all the townsponies, and they all knew it.
Anyways, back to the main story.
Loyal was busy sleeping in late. He had a rather busy night, helping Sugar Belle bake 20 batches of brownies for her stock. But Starlight would always come in to wake him up when he seemed like he had enough rest. She walked up to the side of the bed, gently caressed his cheek with her hoof, and spoke with a gentle voice.
Rise and shine sleeping joy. It is morning.
Mmmmmmmm.....morning, Starlight... Loyal replied, and yawned.
Had a busy night last night...
I can clearly see by how soundly you slept there. Well let us get ready for a new day today.
Loyal nodded, and got out of bed. He got dressed, took his pill, ate breakfast, and brushed his teeth, and headed out the door. He saw Sugar Belle sitting at the doorsteps.
Heya, Sugar Belle. Nice to see ya! He rushed down and hugged his friend.

Loyal kindly took a muffin, and sat down on the steps. Sugar Belle sat next to him.
You know...this town has been more alive, ever since I moved in. I helped you increase business in the bakery, I became a friend for everypony to have, I helped Starlight feel less lonely...I don't think I'll ever leave this town.
And don't forget. You have freed us from Starlight's reign of terror. No offense to Starlight. I'm sure she is not the pony she was before. She is a whole new pony, and we all get along with her very fine.
Loyal nodded. Yeah....the only thing that's missing is....
Loyal noticed something in the distance, approaching the town. It was a pony! It had a pure white coat with blue eyes, and a white, yellow, and red mane and tail that's a bit reminiscent to Rainbow Dash.
A VISITOR! Loyal and Sugar Belle rushed over to the new pony. Hello there, visitor! We welcome you to Equality Town.
The pony smiled casually. "Hello there." She looked around for a moment. "This town seems surprisingly peaceful... It's not the same as I dreamed of last night... Eh, probably a different universe." She then turned her head back to the two who greeted her. "My name is Solar Guardian. Just call me Solar. What about you two?"
((She was actually spectating the Season 5 Premier in her dream, in case you were wondering.))
My name is Loyal Defender, Loyal for short, and this is my good friend, affectionate partner, and amazing baker, Sugar Belle.
Sugar Belle blushed a bit at the affection bit.
"I probably shouldn't ask what you mean by 'partner'." She started to examine Loyal out of curiosity. "Well, you're clearly not a pony, Loyal... Maybe we can talk about that later. For now, Anything going on? I usually go around helping ponies since that's what I do, so I thought I could do something for you two."
Loyal shook his head. Nope. Things have been peaceful for months now. Nothing's ever really--
Loyal noticed something flying in the distance. It looked like a big brown saltshaker, with a dome on the top...
Oh, God, no...
"What? Did you think of something I can do?" She looks around, eventually seeing what Loyal sees. "What is that?" She seemed quite confused, unsure what to even think of what she's seeing.
Loyal knew exactly what he was seeing....
Dalek.
"Dalek?" Now she was even more confused. "What's going on? Something bad, huh?"
Daleks resemble human-sized pepper shakers, with a single mechanical eyestalk mounted on a rotating dome, a gun mount containing an energy weapon, and a telescopic manipulator arm usually tipped by an appendage resembling a sink plunger. Daleks have been known to use their plungers to interface with technology, crush a man's skull by suction, measure the intelligence of a subject, and extract information from a man's mind. Dalek casings are made of a bonded polycarbide material dubbed "dalekanium".
Just then, Starlight came running outside to see what was going on.

She arrives next to Loyal and Solar
What in Equestria is that! Looks like a salt shaker. Looks like trouble is coming.
The Dalek flew down onto the ground, and slowly approached the three.
Hilariously, Daleks are slow on the ground.
The Dalek stopped, and looked around, before speaking. MULTIPLE LIFE FORMS DETECTED.
"Well, thanks, Dalek: Captain Obvious Edition." She chuckles at her own joke. "Anyway, Loyal, do the casings include that little dome at the top? the main body and the dome seem a bit different."
Nope. To kill a Dalek,aim for the eyestalk.
To KILL!?
She looks in confusion having no idea what is going on.
What on Equestria are you doing? And who or what are those? Are they really a threat?
Daleks exist only to try ruling over whatever land they can find, exterminating whatever is in their way...
"And to add, here's what Loyal said earlier, random pony. Ahem. Solar walks up beside Loyal. "Y'know, I'm curious too. Why are you here? If you wish to learn, all you have to do is ask. It's not that hard." She was giving a patient smile as she said this.

DALEKS ARE HERE TO CONQUER.
Seriously?! It won't talk to me, but it answers you?
"Just roll with it. Anyway, I've heard things about 'technology'. It seems you Daleks are examples of such in its prime. Trust me, you won't find anything interesting here at all, as our technology is very primitive compared to you. Seriously, you have some kind of weapon we won't have for, I'd say, 3,500 years. It'll most likely be longer than that though..."
YOU LIE! YOU WILL BECOME SLAVES FOR THE DALEKS!
"No, seriously, We don't have technology. We do have something else, though... I'll give you some, assuming you know how it works, if you leave us alone."
DALEKS HAVE NO INTEREST IN TECHNOLOGY. DALEKS ARE MEANT TO CONQUER.
"Of course... But, can you at least tell me why you picked this planet, out of billions of others?"

"The thing is, though, it won't work so well when said adorable ponies have metal parts strapped to them. Of course, that's assuming that's what you do." She smirks, her eyes turning from blue to red. "Besides, you'd be surprised how incapable some of us are. Even if you just want us and our land, you're looking in the wrong place, as the only one with enough experience with that is me." Her eyes turn back. "Wait, what was...?"
The Dalek was getting impatient. YOU WILL OBEY. OBEY. OBEEEEY!
Solar sighs in disappointment. "You're really stubborn, you know that? Oh well..." As her eyes turn to a brighter blue, she takes a fighting stance similar to Octavia's in 'Once Upon a Time in Canterlot'. "Come at me."
You will be EXTERMINATED!!! The Dalek aimed his laser at Solar for a moment, before quickly aiming it at Loyal, and shooting a moment after.
"Wow." Solar quickly grabs and forces Loyal out of the way of the laser, almost getting hit herself. "Yeah, you'll pay for that." She immediately summons her Light magic, and fires a beam of energy aimed at the eyestalk. Even if i miss the eyestalk, it'll still blow up from either the impact or the resulting explosion.
Instead of blowing up the Dalek, however...
MY VISION IS IMPAIRED! I CANNOT SEE! HELP ME! HELP MEEE!
"Oh hey, Limit Break time." Her coat turns to a very pale yellow, and her mane and tail go from white, yellow, and red to yellow, orange and red respectively. Her eyes are also glowing a cyan color. "Aether Beam!" Solar fires another magic beam, but this time of Aether magic, an upgrade of Light magic.
((Solar's Light magic, by itself, hasn't gone through some of the really strong metals yet, but her Aether magic will. Just probably not Dalek casings. Not yet, at least.)
The beam somehow broke through the Dalekanium layer, and bounced around inside the capsule.
The inside of the body glowed, and rays of yellow light leaked outside the Dalek.

"I see. My Limit Break form hasn't run out yet, so I might just do what I did before." Solar looks around for a moment. "I can't sense them... Do they even give off an energy signature? I mean, I don't know what they use for energy, so I wouldn't find them anyway, but still..."
Loyal walked up to the Dalek, and noticed something off about it...the base had something black attacked to it.
A communicator device.
Solar...I get the feeling you're about to detect more Daleks...
"Any idea how many? This form does last, but not for 30 minutes or anything, so I can't fight forever."
I'm not sure....but I get the feeling they'l be here shortly....
"Well, we need to stop them, that's for sure." Solar's eyes start to glow again. "Any ideas?"
Just then, several flashes appeared in the sky, slowly revealing hundreds upon thousands of Daleks.
Basically....run!
Seems like a good idea. There are way to many of these Daleks coming at us.
Loyal nodded, and he and Starlight ran as fast as they could.
HOSTILE FORCES IDENTIFIED! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINAAATE!
Get close to me. I will teleport all of us out of here.
Wait! What about Solar?
I'll try to get Solar as well.
Solar! Get to me, I will teleport us out.
Apparently, her mind was somewhere else. "Huh? Oh, sorry." Solar ran to Starlight, hoping to get out of there quickly.

Starlight teleported them all to an underground rock hideout. They could lift the rock up to spot for danger.
Well....now what?
We will await until it is clear to come out. The rest of the ponies have left town so they won't find anypony in town.
Doubtful any of the Daleks are gonna go away now that they know we're here...
If it is doubtful, then only a matter of time before they find us in here. We will then have to make a run for it out of here.

Well what other idea you have? So we can't stay here for long. We can't run. So we suppose to then just fight these things and risk our health?

but I'm scared. Loyal hugged Starlight out of fear.
*hugging back* I'm scared too. Luckily I kept this escape hatch. Well now it is our bunker. Hopefully we come up with a good plan. I do not want to be slaves or annihilated by these Daleks.
We can't take on thousands of Daleks...and I'm too young to be enslaved...what do we do now?
Well... I would like to help if I know more about these Daleks. Seems you two know something about them. Do you two know any weakness in them? I could try help stopping them.
Only weakness is the dome and eyestalk.
The dome? So just hitting their tops damages or takes them out. Sounds reasonable. It is like knocking ponies' heads. Now these robots are ruthless. So we got to be prepared.
Loyal peeked out, to see no Daleks around.
Well...there's nopony around. Do you mind if I sleep here till something happens?
Well we can. We can't get out so it is best to wait it out here. Who knows when they leave.
Loyal nodded in understandin, leaned back against the wall, closed his eyes, and fell asleep.
Starlight thinks of the Daleks still roaming around and worries of the ponies that may come in contact with them. She hopes soon the Daleks will go away soon, so she decides to take a nap as well, sleeping right on Loyal, finding a spot on his chest to allow him to breathe.
Starlight moved closer to Loyal, wrapped her hooves around him, and brought him closer to her, pressing him against her chest. But this time, it was for something soft to lay on. She lay her head on top of his, and closed her eyes, as well.

A while later, Loyal awoke from his nap. He looked around to see that Starlight and Blaze were still asleep. Well, Blaze was asleep now, at least.
Loyal took out a note and began writing.
For anypony who reads this, if I happen to become lost or dead, which I hope I don't, keep this letter with you. This is just something to remember me, if something does happen to me. I'll also be honest...I don't know if Starlight knows this...but I always had a crush on her, but never had the heart to tell her, as I feared she would react badly. If she finds this letter, and she reads it, I hope she understands. As for the others in Equality Village, if something happens to me, take care of them. I did my best to protect them over the past few months, but I know it can't last forever.
Also, before I go...Starlight...thank you. You've always been there for me, as have the others, but you've been somepony very special to me. I'll always love you. Though I may or may not have told you this.
As soon as Loyal finished writing his note, he shed a tear. He really hoped nothing happened to him....he loved his friends. He cared about them.
He lay back on Starlight's chest, and just stared off into space...
A bit later Starlight awoke from her sleep. She looks around and realizes Loyal is not around. She jumps up looking around if Loyal was around. She used a spell to light up the area a bit but nothing. Just Solar and a piece of paper. A PIECE OF PAPER!? She was not aware of the paper on her chest as she was more concerned of Lohal than anything. Starlight picks up the paper and notices writing. She is able to read the words clearly and understandibly. She reads the note.
After finally finishing the note, Starlight cannot believe Loyal is now gone. She is in a mix of sadness, love, and confusion.
Why? Why did you leave now Loyal? We could have escaped together. Did you really went out to take on the Daleks?... He probably risked his life to save us to help us escape. Now... he may be gone for good.
She stays sitting wimpering at the paper, which perhaps may be the last and only rememberance of Loyal she will ever have.
You have changed me... and I thank you for that. I know you were a dear frind, but didn't knew I was that special to you. If only you were here I would have let you know how I felt about you as well. We both had love... and now you are gone... I really wish you can be alive and hope to see you again.

Starlight repeatedly blinked to remove the tears from her eyes, until she realized something. She felt different...
As it turned out, Starlight was just dreaming that Loyal left. She looked down to see Loyal asleep in her hooves, laying against her chest. She gently rubbed his back, instead of hugging him out of fear and sadness. She had to refrain from showing how upset had become. Which meant that Loyal leaving had all been a dream. She noticed a piece of paper on Loyal's lap. It was the same one from her dream.
How could she have had a dream about a paper she'd seen in real life for the first time? Strange...
Mmmmh... Loyal moved a little bit, before opening his eyes, and looking up at Starlight. He didn't see her crying, though. He looked over, and saw Solar sleeping next to the two. Loyal reached out and gently stroked her mane.
I owe my life to you...if you hadn't grabbed me when you dodged...I wouldn't be alive. Thank you, Solar...
Solar didn't seem at ease, as she was breathing heavily. She starts sleep-talking... "No... leave her... Alone..." A strange, black liquid starts to form in her eyes. "No... I'll... I'll..." Moments later, she wakes up, her colors somehow changing. Her white coat became a dark red, her mane colors turned to red, dark red and black, and her eye whites turned black as well. "I'll destroy you all!!" It took her a few moments to realize it was a dream, and when she did, she collapsed onto the ground. Her color was normal again, and the liquid gone. "I'm... I'm sorry. I shouldn't be freaking out over a dream..."
Loyal and Starlight just stared in shock..

"Yeah, I did... Thank you." She hugged Loyal back, tears in her eyes. "I just thought... that they took you..."

"I... I don't remember... I think there... There were Daleks... And... I..." She seemed emotionally broken, and from a nightmare of all things...
Loyal hugged Solar tighter, and stroked her mane. Shhhh...it's okay, Solar...I'm here...you won't lose me...I promise...
"Thank you, Loyal..." She starts to calm down. Right then, she also thought of something. "You really are quite 'loyal', huh? Heh."
Loyal chuckled. Oh, you're "on fire" with the puns.
