There were a few things that bugged me about the episode like Twilight transforming , and it feeling a bit short , but there were things that made me like this episode.

1. Nice songs.

So I rate this episode a Derpy out of ten!

It's hard to get out of my head too sometimes. In fact I like to rewind each episode to look for him.

It was a decent episode in my opinion. A better excuse than I thought they'd give for it. Nevertheless, the background pony fan-service spam made up for it.

I've been forced to quit a MLP:FiM board due to no activity.

So I'm going to start talking about this show here.

Here's my reaction to the S3 finale. You may already know it if you go to some of the other MLP:FiM boards I go to.

Not the greatest, but not awful either.

Honestly, I'm going to forgive them for the rushed quality of the last episode because I think when these episodes were actually being written and produced the show was still gaining speed and they weren't sure yet if it was going to keep its popularity or start to fall apart on them. Hence the shorter season and a slightly rushed finale that I now think was made to finish the series if, for some reason, the show started to lose momentum during season 3. Considering season 4 will likely have 26 episodes from the sound of it, they're fully confident that the show is a worthwhile investment and hopefully will be less rushed in the future.

Also, just realized after Twilight got zapped by the elements that the scorch marks weren't just random burns on the floor. They actually formed her cutie mark.

It will fall apart on them if they keep going in the direction they're going.  Even if you have a goose that lays golden eggs, if you starve the goose there won't be any eggs.

Yeah, all the artists and fans attempting to guilt others into feeling bad for disliking something- uncool.

The issue is not that she changed. I love it when characters develop and grow over time. It's the nature of her change. Her change into Princesshood. Which is blatantly Hasbro's marketing department trying to sell more plastic princess ponies.

It is undeniably the exact opposite of what Lauren Faust was trying to do. She was trying to make a show for girls that wasn't about being the pretty perfect princess. It was about real, likable, realized girl characters going on adventures and learning lessons about life and friendship along the way. Twilicorn is a smack in the face to that ideal if you ask me. And that sits badly with me and is always going to. Now, they could remedy it in S4, but it's still not something I'm happy about.

I'm usually the first to defend an episode that got mixed reviews. I'm usually optimistic about the creator's choices. I can see flaws in plenty of episodes, but never so much to leave such a bad taste in my mouth. I want to like this episode. I want to see the value in it like I have in the previous episodes. I want to be happy with it like so many other people are and celebrate another great season finale. But I'm not, I cant, and I'm not going to until maybe S4.

So, if someone has a rational or explanation for the Twilicorn that might help me understand why people are liking it, I'm all ears.

I'm impressed you got coherent out of that. Felt more like a grumpy rant to me . 

But it's really nice to know I'm not alone in my opinion.  I've felt like such a butthead for going around being unhappy towards the whole thing while everyone else seems to be celebrating.
