To live by the boundaries of the world, not of ponies.
+++ Guild structure is tentative and may adapt according to guild's population/turnout! +++
x Purpose x Our objective will be to become the masters of our 3D environment, ultimately without the aid of wings or horn. This is not a fighting-based guild. We will specialize in parkour and map exploration, bringing earth ponies and the rest from the tops of towers to beyond a map's boundaries. Also: EXTREME HIDE-AND-SEEK!
x Organization x Our ranking system will consist of a double heirarchy between managerial Roles and Rank based on guild-designated feats in platforming. Rank will show off your platforming prowess, and Role will represent what you do to help the guild as a whole. One does not necessarily affect the other, but some roles would be more easily filled by a seasoned platformer, such as GUIDE. As the methods of platforming is a different case for each race, it makes sense to me to segregate them into divisions. These divisions are independent from rank, but depending on the technicality of a particular challenge or role, an individual's rules of engagement may depend on one's race.
x Rules x Democracy is the only rule.
x Guidelines x Roles of authority have authority of roles, not of ponies. RPers: be your character at your own discretion, but I think it could make things fun. Non-RPers: Roleplaying should be a non-issue for the herd's functions. A little respect will let our processions run smoothly.
x Divisions x Until LoE sees more content, the involvement of UNICORNS and PEGASII are largely pending, but the general idea is as below.
EARTH DIVISION: The guild's backbone and focus. Earth ponies, the transportationally-challenged of the three, will test their mettle by performing unconventional feats of platforming and reaching places unexpected. LANCE DIVISION: Unicorns will use their teleportation ability to oversee races and traverse prospective courses with more ease. SKY DIVISION: Pegasii's maneuverability will be suited to spearheading the effort to find either: interesting places to go; or holes in the 3D world's collisions (one can only hope).
x Roles x
-FLUID ROLES- Fluid roles won't need a promotional process to obtain, and exist only in title. Anypony is free to identify as and/or fulfill these, even AUTHORITATIVE or COUNCIL roles. It is certainly encouraged to pick one, as the rest of the herdmembers will see how you are interested in contributing. (If you can think of a FLUID position not listed here, feel free to use it and let me know!)
POSITION: SUB-SECRETARY SUITED FOR: ANY DESCRIPTION: The secretary's secretary. If a secretary is absent (for a guild event, etc.) and something need be recorded, a sub-secretary can record in their stead and leave a report with the SECRETARY-COUNSELOR.
POSITION: SCOUT SUITED FOR: ANY DESCRIPTION: Reports to SCOUT CAPTAIN and/or GUIDE with locations of platforming interest and proposes ideas for courses suitable for a race or platforming challenge. Suited best to fresh recruits who are new to 3D platforming or are yet still clumsy with the controls?
POSITION: GUIDE SUITED FOR: ANY DESCRIPTION: Has intimate knowledge of the LoE landscape as well as the courses designated by the guild. Additionally, guides should be familiar with platforming tricks enough to advise others and help them succeed.
POSITION: TRAINER SUITED FOR: LANCE, SKY DESCRIPTION: A more snuggly version of the GUIDE. While not requiring particularly high skill, a TRAINER can be one that simply comes along with another runner or SCOUT to stay their focus. A trainer from the LANCE DIVISION, for example, could teleport around an area to set on-the-fly goals for the trainee to reach. An interaction like this should help develop a comprehensive understanding of a course or area. "Can you get up here?" etc.
-AUTHORITATIVE ROLES- Authoritative roles will be awarded based on an internal prestige system designated by the HEAD COUNCIL. As long as one is deemed qualified for a position, they will be nominated and voted for by the COUNCIL at any time. Authoritative roles are the ones who will make a difference in shaping the guild herd membership.
POSITION: SURVEYOR SUITED RACE: LANCE, SKY DESCRIPTION: Acts as the referee during the official(?) challenges which raise a pony's parkour rank.
POSITION: SECRETARY-COUNSELOR SUITED RACE: ANY DESCRIPTION: Official guild messenger and record-keeper. Leads PR where applicable and maintains their scope on internal affairs. If somepony you need is gone, leave a note with this one.
POSITION: SCOUT CAPTAIN SUITED RACE: EARTH, LANCE DESCRIPTION: Receives reports from SCOUTS and verifies a location or course for its platformability and fun factor, especially for earth ponies. superdiscreet disclaimer: this is my first time ever managing a guild!!! criticisms and other forms of verbal abuse are welcome!!! -HEAD COUNCIL- The COUNCIL is the circle of ponies who oversee the guild's processions. More than one of each role can exist, but troubles will arise if there is a lack of communication within a position.
POSITION: DIRECTOR/SUPERVISOR (directorvisor?) SUITED RACE: ANY DESCRIPTION: Oversees ALL the guild's processions and makes sure everyone is happy. In the absence of PLANNER and TREASURER roles, the DIRECTORVISOR will do their best to fulfill these.
POSITION: PLANNER SUITED RACE: ANY DESCRIPTION: The real runner of the show that keeps the guild hippin' and hoppin' by scheduling guild events like EXTREME HIDE-AND-SEEK. Works in closest conjunction with the secretary-counselor to minimize conflicts of schedule. We want everypony to have fun yes??
POSITION: TREASURER *ROLE PENDING* SUITED RACE: ANY DESCRIPTION: Counts the wealth of the guild and budgets it. What guild doesn't need one of these hotties
*** Ranks coming soon??? ***
If you aren't already positively daunted by all that crap stuff I wrote and want to be with the hide and seek champions, give me a ring! Give me the name of the pony you which to join with so I know who to expect to see this open server weekend. I'll list your forum and pony name here.
