Lauren Faust was one that originally designed the show, and apparently she was the only one that cared about small details, so I'm sticking with her, meaning that anything that would need electricity or any modern technology is completely out of the question, no matter what. In a world full of magic, there is no room for it.

I also know that there's another thread kinda like this somewhere, so if you wanna read up more on the topic, it's... somewhere

It seems that we have to download the game so we can play. The game can't seem to download on the mac so can you upload it to the internet? Please?  :'(

It's playable on a Mac (99.8% sure it is), but I think the problem you're running into is the game not being available.

Don't worry, though! The game has very frequent stress-tests due to all of the fun stuff they add in between them all! Another one will occur before you know it!

Can't believe this one hasn't been used yet... Why not the cliched "Element of Surprise!"? 
Out of the originals, I'd say I'm the Element of Loyalty, with Honesty coming a close second. Sometimes, I do things that may end up in a more self-destructing way (but not that bad sounding). I'd stay an extra 20min of work to make sure something is complete, without hinting it. I try to note all my important people's b-days (family and friends).
Then, when I screw up, I tell them exactly what I know or did. I'm usually prepared for consequences and prefer to stick with things to the end.

If I thought of my own element - I'd stick to my star sign and call my element belonging to "Balance"for the scales. (Libra) I like to get multiple sides of the story and "weigh it out" between the facts etc. Plus, I'm usually level headed, but I can tip extremely from anger to joy like that. *Click fingers*-
That's how I see it anyways - I may not be so balanced when it comes to my dietary needs though. 

I swear when I found this thread, the "Element of Surprise" was the only one I could think of for a bit

How about the "Element of Bliss"?

But I thought "Ignorance is bliss." you can't have something be the opposite of itself.

I don't really know what that saying means... or why it exists But the opposite of Ignorance is Bliss

I remember finding lots of Harry Potter references. Such as how Dumbledore and Princess Celestia both had phoenixes, and they both had students (if you counted Harry as Dumble's student). Lemme see if I can try to remember a few more references...

Dunno if this one really counts (because of its obviousness), but Canterlot's name is based off "Camelot". Then there's all of the corny names (Baltimore/Baltimare, Philadelphia/Fillydelphia, etc.). Umm, Changelings were based off these weird demon-creatures from a horror movie... uhhhh, that's all I can think of at the moment. I'll let you know if I think of any more.

Sorry for being gone a long time, Dark. But I'm back.

About the Captain positions... I'm not so sure if I should start assigning those out just yet, as I have no proper way of telling if you're to the task or not. Nothing personal, of course, but those positions seem to require the game itself. What you seek requires time, as of everything. Surely you should know this best, considering how long it took you to gain the title of a Loyal.

You could use imgur (no account required) and upload the picture you would like to be your profile picture. When the picture appears, right-click on the picture and press Copy Image URL. Then go to your Forum Profile under Profile at the toolbar at the top, and in the box that asks for your Avatar URL, right-click the box and press Paste. Aaaannnnnd there ya go!

I read the rumor on the wiki, but I don't know if they'll go as far as give a background pony a singing part. But if it's singing in the background (at a party or so), that'll be a bit more believable, but still not convincing, as she plays music that wouldn't really work with lyrics.

Don't get me going on how many Harry Potter references there are in the show

And HammyB said something about a certain Unicorn's spells depending on who they are, and how they can't all perform the same spells. This is true, and because of this, there are dozens of different of schools of magic. Such as:

• Celestia's and Luna's ability to raise the sun and moon (Unicorns actually had this ability before the Princesses)


• King Sombra's ability to generate and corrupt Crystals


• Rarity's Gem-finding spell

There are actually lots of and lots of spells that can't be classified as a specific school, such as the Come-To-Life spell, the Fail-Safe spell, and Starswirl's spell (the one Twilight finished) where talents of certain ponies are switched. There's also the fact that Magic takes the role of Electricity (which is odd, but interesting). In some episodes, some ponies even combine their magic to make it stronger.
