Hi, I know you addressed my first OC, but I think I'm doing a lot better now. Less dismal and more real, I think.

One last thing before the bio, He is monochromatic colorblind.

Bio

Luminescence had a pretty easy past. Living in the upstairs residence of the shop, Lumi learned many things about fragrances and soaps and oils and how they make pony's feel, or could make them feel better. He vigorously studied and learned all Rose Blossom could teach him of her craft. He found it amazing how fragrances could change peoples mood. He devoted himself to learning these things, and he loved it.

Most other ponies found many other things to enjoy, but Lumi enjoyed light. Being so severely colorblind, he found many things others found enjoyable rather dull. Thanks to being in such a different family from the cut and dry Manehatten family, he wasn't discouraged from these endeavors. Unfortunately, everywhere he looked, all light was provided by magic. From little streetlamps to the sun, all lighty stuff was magic based. "Now, how does a earth pony like me deal with light stuffs? It's like a unicorn trying to move the clouds, sure there's probably a way, but it it's hard. " This and similar thoughts often occupied his conciseness.

Then one day when helping Rose out in the spa, it dawned on him. Whenever a high end employee came for a soothing or gentle spa treatment, Rose laid out candles. Candles! "They're just burning plant stuff, right? Dad ought to know all about that!" With that in mind, Lumi set out to find Bronze Spark, despite Rose Blossom's calls. Galloping into the mini home office, Lumi had barely touched the floor when he had started explaining his idea. Slowly, comprehension dawned to Bronze Spark as for what Lumi wanted to do. Reaching down for a couple books, he gave them to Lumi and told him which types of plants would be most helpful and told him to go at it.

Month's faded away as Lumi lost himself into the art of candles. From starting from understanding the plants needed and on to different wick types, he learned all he could. Eventually, he moved on from the hypothetical to the practical. Small misshapen cylinders littered the counters and table side lamp stands, he only grew in determination. As his determination developed so did the candles. Slowly, they became liken unto his typical candle, a tall vanilla colored candle with a rose carved on the side.

As the months passed, Luminescence grew to want to show others his candles. That, and the house was filled with far too many candles. Settling his debts with some of the locals, he set out on his business venture. Wishing him luck, his parents loaned him enough bits for a couple train tickets and he set out. With the world on the tip of his hooves, he went forth to find his place, and his new life.

Alright now for technical information
Spoiler: show
Yes, wax is generally made of animal fat. This wax however is going to be made from mainly a soybean and tree sap mixture, with the waxy coating found on some leaves (generally pine needles) as a  solidifying agent and sap. The wick will be a wick. Chemically speaking, it's possible. Resource wise, it's not so effective, but such is the lot of the pony.

Tell me what you think. Hope it's better and more believable.

best: there won't be g5 and few seasons later we back to 22 minutes long episodes
worst: hasbro decide to make it girly and childish as it was before to destroy brony fandom, keep short seasons and discontinue show for few months to make g5 with new main cast

That wouldn't destroy the fandom  :l

The Fandom exists despite  the somewhat girly aspect of the show. Even if the seasons get shorter or is discontinued, the brony culture will still exist. If it gets shorter seasons, we have hope that it continues and who knows? They might be working on something else, like a movie (hope)
If it is discontinued, we have a open templet for continueing with fan fiction and ideas, without worldbuilding that would stop it. Think positive! It helps  :)

I was looking up social conventions and new fandoms for my paper. Finished with some generic anime/manga from a very disturbing section of the bowels of the internet. I decieded that maybe a lighter type of fandom would be nice to recover with. I looked for some less soul consuming fandom and found ponies. How this came up as less soul consuming I'll never know I tried to look at it in a observant light, but it was too good of a fandom. It took me in. I never left.    x3
9
Where I live, it was mid seventy last winter. No snow for me.  :c
10
I chose to look at it in this perspective.
I have looked into other large fandoms, such as Star Trek / Star Wars, Naruto, Bleach, Nintendo in general, Halo, a little bit of WoW, and some, well, less friendly stuff. *shudder* Point being, MLP: FiM has one of the largest fandoms out there! Not only that, but it is one of the largest growing communities. On average Equestria Daily receives and average of 250,000 views per day. In London, EqD is the #207 most visited site. Over the entire United States of America, it ranks #7544, while in comparison AmericanIdol.com is at rank #9610. Everfree radio hit their millionth view about a week ago, and is now over it by around 75,000. There is nearing150,000 pages of fan-fiction out there. The Fandom is huge.
Looking at it in this light, I believe it will stick around for quite some time. Will it be FiM? Maybe not, but they'll definitely have MLP. Oh, and the animation will most likely stay, what with all the animation fans out there.  I have no worries that it will last.

Hello! I am (semi) new to LoE. I do, however believe that introductions are in order!
I am old enough to have a brain and young enough to use it.
I read far more than is considerd the norm, but I don't consider myself a book conisure by any strech of the imagination.
I enjoy watching how things unfold almost as much as changing them myself.
I may not say much, but I always weigh what I could say before I say it.
I love Old English, and am quite fluent.

I do hope to see you around, err, so to speak.
hello and welcome back ^-^  do you roleplay?

I would like to try, but I do not know quite how or which to join. Simplicity, as you might imagine, isn't exactly my strong suit. Depth and detail I take particular delight in, but I am unable to successfully convey this without simple bluntness. An interesting oxymoron indeed.
But in a word, yes I do roleplay.

Music. Soft enchanting music drifting on the night breeze. This is my first memory. I awoke the following day with only the memory of a dark night and enchanting melodies flowing through my head. I hadn't a inkling where I was. I tried traveling alone, tried finding where I was from, but when your 7, it was never a very good prospect on your own. I learned to remain very quiet, and to distrust people. The world can seem terribly cruel when your young. Ponies, they always tried to "help me." Help me with what? They never even bothered to ask why I was running. When I was 9, I found a forest that behaved, well, differently. I couldn't hear the music that had plagued me since that terrible night. It was here I was determined to stay. I decided to built a hut on the remains of some old ruin, deep in the middle of the wood. Here I stayed and watched and listened and learned the secrets of the forest. Once, several years after I had finished the hut and knew many secrets of the forest, I was visited by a dark pegasus, but she had a horn too. Confused at the wonder that was before me beheld, I invited her back to the hut, and I spoke to her there. She spoke to me, and she spoke of a old sin of hers that had caused the life he had. What could she mean? Who does she think she is? Prancing up to my hut and saying, I made you to live here? But then she sang that accursed song! It was her! The one that came in the night! I knew that she indeed had driven me to this haven, to escape the music, to try to find my old life and family. I cried, then and there. I don't know how long I was there, crying. I had many times thought of what to do if I found the one who made the music. Now, I knew none of it would be even close to the torture I had. Even this land of silence had been desecrated by her. I had to leave. This, Luna, had taken everything that he held dear. I must overcome her curse. This music, however was insuperable from my identity now, so I dedicated my life to show others the music, so that they might change it for me. Or so that they too may bear my curse, know my pain. To better this, Luna's, music. To better it, so I wouldn't suffer from it any more. I smiled. A name. Eclipse, to overcome his Luna, Mistress of the Moon. I walked away, unknowing that Luna was the only person that could share my suffering. Whispering the song that changed my life.
Shortly thereafter, Luna tracked me down. I was spreading a old and ancient song that would help none. It was there, in my old home she took me. She made me stay and hear her sorrows. She too, had been hearing the song since that fateful night years ago.  Years she had spent finding me and trying to help me, to help her. She, indeed, had felt my sorrow. I wished I could be angry at her, but I knew that it would do no good. She told me of how the night she took me, she took many others, and few awoke from the sleep they had been put in. Her sister Princess Celsestia was beyond anger when she found out. It took a very long time for their relationship to recover. She too, it seemed had lost family. I- I was beyond words. All I wanted was for her  to feel my pain and sorrow. She had, it seemed and for much longer than I had. I told her that I would do all I could to help her, if she would simply promise me this, " Let me have the songs, and don't tell me my family. She was astonished. I had spent the better part of my life trying to escape all that I said I wished to keep. It was part of me now. I did ask her to tell me more of her songs, and to let me remember them. She blessed my mind to hear more than the one song, and I have spent my life since writing them and telling them to the world. I still talk with her every night. Though not always pony to pony, but close enough. People still don't trust me, but who can blame them? I spent most all of my life in the Everfree Forest, and everyone knows that that place isn't, um normal. I still search the world over though. To tell of her songs is what I said I would do. I will follow Luna to the ends of the earth  ...Into the Calm and Quiet ...

Original Characters / Eclipse's Oc

I'm trying to work on making another OC, Preferably less dismal this time. :)
Unfortunantly, I have no idea for what.

Bio:
Music. Soft enchanting music drifting on the night breeze. This was my first memory. I awoke that fateful day with only the memory of a dark night and enchanting melodies flowing through my head. I hadn't a inkling where I was. Desperate to find a place to call home, I tried traveling alone, tried finding where I was from, but when your 7, it was never a very good prospect on your own. I learned to remain very quiet, and to distrust people. The music from that night always stayed with me though. Strange, how the only constant in my life was the very thing that I knew the least about. The world can seem terribly cruel when I was young. Ponies, they always tried to "help me." Help me with what? They never even bothered to ask why I was running. Only the lies of family and new beginnings. How can you begin anew when you know nothing of the old?

When I was 9, I found a forest that behaved, well, differently. I couldn't hear the music that had plagued me since that terrible night. It was here I was determined to stay. I decided to built a hut on the remains of some old ruin, deep in the middle of the wood. Here I stayed and watched and listened and learned the secrets of the forest. The mysteries of the forest enchanted me and always will. I was, well, happy there. It was only later that I found out that my place of happiness and comport was the bane of the same for others. It seems all too fitting looking back now.

Several years after I had finished the hut and knew many secrets of the forest, I was visited by a dark pegasus, but she had a horn too. Confused at the wonder that was before me beheld, I invited her back to the hut, and I spoke to her there. She spoke to me, and she spoke of a old sin of hers that had caused the life I had. I walked away, unknowing that Luna was the only person that could share my suffering. Whispering the song that changed my life.

A few days later, I realized I had gotten my cutie mark. A simple moon and a cloud. Being currently obsessed with the idea that my purpose was to overcome Luna, Priestess of the Night, I believed that this confirmed my purpose was to taint her reputation in nothing else. Only now do I realize the cloud has another purpose, emphasis. Regardless, I went after causing dissonance against Princess Luna with renewed vigor, creating more cacophony and distrust for the Princess, believing that this was my purpose. Oh how I now see the vile creation I helped inspire, this horrid visage that Equestria sees our Princess as.

Shortly thereafter, Luna tracked me down. I was spreading a old and ancient song that would help none, this she knew well. It was there, in my old home she found me. I had come back to write the story of my life in the bark, inner wood and very being of the forest. She made me stay in my old home, to hear her sorrows. She too, had been hearing the song since that fateful night years ago.  Years she had spent finding me and trying to help me, to help her escape. She, indeed, had felt my sorrow. I wished I could be angry at her, but I knew that it would do no good. She told me of how the night she took me, she took many others, and few awoke from the sleep they had been put in. Never pony to pony, but I know she hears. I don't know how she hears, but I know she does. I find the world still as distrusting as in my youth, but I find strength to continue on. People still don't trust me, but who can blame them? I spent most all of my life in the Everfree Forest, and everyone knows that that place isn't normal to say the least. Despite their distrust, I still search the world over though. To tell of her songs is what I said I should do. I will follow Luna to the ends of the earth    ...Into the Calm and Quiet ...

What do you think?
