Forum Name: Sotha
Activity: Mild. Three to five hours a week.
Planned race: Earth Pony.
Reason to join: I explained in the preface. Though originally an opportunity passed by, I have followed this thread due to its incessant activity, and have warmed up to the herd's mission / began to see the potential in its role. Also I just love the name.

If any of you remember when I first joined this herd, I had not yet thought of a name for my only OC. (You can see the only drawing of her in existence, by frostheartissiamese, in my profile picture here.) I still have not, but I was thinking about it recently, and I'm warming up to the idea of something fire-related (or light-giving). But anything I can think of sounds really pretentious. Ignescence, Incalescence, Phosphorescence. Fire-related names.

Any suggestions (even non-fire/light-related)? Thanks!

No cutie-mark, either. Although it could be a durian. Because why not. You can see I think these things through well.

It would seem this is my 8-month anniversary in this herd. Woo.
May you walk on warm sands.

Take the word pyromaniac and cut it up into a cool pony name. One pony I'm writing a story about is Pyro Feather.

Join the changeling herd, or she'll devour your love!

You could also always spell it backwards, and create something new

Sea Foam

You could implement Latin terminology.

Ex:

Burn - flagrare                              That's a neat word

Fire - ignis, incendia, flamma           You might sound like a Harry Potter spell   I:

hot - fervens

Note: I don't know Latin well by any means.

Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes;
they call me on and on across the universe.
Thank you, Durpy, for the banner!

Gee, you guys are getting really caught up on the whole fire thing, aren't you?

Poetical Geothermics. Iridescent glow, mantle, the heat to be found in coal. A hearthstone, hearthfire, earth and hydrothermal vents. It's not important.

A name isn't much without an identity, a story. A painting without a purpose, a window without a soul.
May you walk on warm sands.

Ah, I hope it will turn out well!
Pray tell, what system is to be used?

(Me just realised that I did not submit this post yesterday when I wrote it. X3)

Oh, it would appear that I got some fancy title, Notable pony, now that's something that I had not expected to gain.
Thanks everypony, for this most brilliant thing.

Nope! Not D&D, surprisingly. (I actually want to play Pathfinder.) That is what I've heard for D&D, though. Gotta be mage, cleric, or warrior, if I recall.

It is a system of the GM's design, called Forgotten. It is a mystery game taking place on a world tidally locked with its sun, with a barren desert light side, a swampy dark side, and a vast network of rooms and corridors all deep underground called the core (although I imagine they're more in the lower crust / upper mantle).

From the description on the game development site, it "is a a 'science fantasy' game whose canon is intended to be loose and vague to encourage innovative, explorative campaigns. Players step into the role of an adventurer on a bizarre and dangerous alien world inhabited by 15 unique races. Death comes quickly to the unprepared here, so combat focuses on defense and anticipation to keep the party alive. It's equally suited to open-world, story-based, dungeon-based, and survival horror gameplay." And it doesn't have a level system, and the basic weapon is the chain saw...

My character specialises in powers with huge AoE to blow everything up.
May you walk on warm sands.

Sounds most interesting, I daresay.
Mainly, due to that I myself am a bit working on my own 'system', though that, I shall not derail into unless one is curious to hear about it.

So, your character will likely be the kin to throw spells/attacks of grand scale with very dramatic effects?
Pray, I'd love to hear more about this, if you care to tell about it that is. ^-^

I'd love to hear about your system.

The whole thing about my character is that it has powerful spells, but none allow me to choose specific targets. Rather, the spell specifies conditions, and the creatures (enemy or ally) that fit those conditions are the targets of the spell. So I have to use them carefully, lest I kill everyone in my party, including myself.
May you walk on warm sands.
