Talent: Music. He writes music and plays the contrabass. (Like the cello Octavia plays except bigger)
Backstory: TBA
Likes: Classical music, but not the classical music you would think of. He loves unconventional classical music (Think The Rite of Spring).
Notes: His wings might look small when folded up, but in reality they are much bigger than the average Pegasus' wings. Therefore, he cannot fly fast and he is not very agile, but he can fly for VERY long amounts at a time. Think albatross.

Haven't been here in a while. Call this a fresh start, and I was surprised to see there's an open server weekend.. This weekend!
All my OC's? Trash. They're just not worth it to use again.
However I'll most likely make one or two sometime or another. I want to roleplay again. The last time I "came back" it was a bunch of Sign up RP's that I wasn't interested in, and threads like Life in Ponyville inhabited by people less willing to be serious about things (complete lack of grammar). No offense. So it didn't really work out. Coming back, with a new computer, and a new hobby, I see now that this experience could in fact be enjoyable again, RIGHT BEFORE I go to college in 2 weeks.
Hopefully I have time during college, but since I am a music major, that idea is only subjective at the moment. I do not know for sure. Music has become my life. If you become good friends with me, expect to learn a lot.

Name: Cecil Lux
Race: Pegasus
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Personality: Very intelligent, quick in tongue, and notably optimistic.
Occupation: He's a night watch. He wanders around places he's hired at and guides ponies home, breaks up fights, and watches over the people.
Equipment: A candle (for guiding ponies home) and his voice (he is a strong singer).
Weakness: Ponies that are persistently pessimistic. He cannot stand them.
Current Residence: Edge of Cloudsdale nearest Ponyville.
Cutie Mark: A candle enflamed with stars.
Abilities: Ponies are mesmerized by his singing. He is very charismatic, and ponies just seem to come to him whenever they are sad or are in need of help. He is not a fast flyer but is very agile, able to keep himself in the air no matter what position he is in. One of the few ponies that can keep an upside-down glide for over 20 seconds at a time, but that may just be because of his large wings.
Backstory: Born with a depressed family of four on the heath between the Crystal Empire and Canterlot. The family had been exiled from Cloudsdale because they had stolen food several times before, none of them being talented enough to do their proper jobs to earn bits. Their cutie marks were faded, near grayscale. The wind blew cold but the sun beat down hot.
This foal lived buried in sadness, but when he saw the sun after the stormy clouds went away every week, the tears faded and a smile shone on his face. His parents and sister could not understand his happiness. Cecil, as he was called, simply told them how pretty it all was. The rough grass and the slow-rolling hills, the bright ball of fire hanging from the sky... It was all so wonderful. The young foal did not understand the dire situation of the family, but his optimism brought something to it that they never had: light.
The parents could only barely feed the family, asking for food whenever possible. Cecil began to grow and understand things, and went to school along with his sister. His teachers immediately recognized his intellectual ability, but failed to find his talent. He was a stammeringly powerful singer, and people who heard his voice loved it, but he never considered it to be something he would pursue as a career.
One night, at home, he heard a knocking on the house's door. Being in the closest room to the entrance, knowing the others would wake up soon, he grabbed a candle, lit it, and opened the door. It was a mare that seemed to be around 25 years of age, so a young mare, but certainly not old. The foal, only about 7 at the time, asked the mare what was wrong. The mare told him she could not find her way home, as it was a moonless night on the plain, and everything was pitch black. With the candle, Cecil guided her back to her home. The mare simply thanked Cecil, and they never saw each other again. Cecil enjoyed the satisfaction of helping someone who was lost.
He walked back to his home and quickly fell back asleep.
The next morning, while washing, Cecil looked at his flank and found it was not empty. In bright colors, a white candle shone, enflamed with 3 bright red stars. His parents were very pleased, but were also sad that he would soon be going off to master his occupation. Before he left, he dyed his wings gold, and took a cape of pure white and a charm of pure blue. He found that his somewhat bland fur coloration of gray and black did not represent who he was as a pony, so he changed it. He promised that he would provide for his family as much as possible, and make them comfortable. He then regained the ability to enter Cloudsdale through connections between him and a certain pony within the Royal Guard, and from that pony to Princess Celestia. Cecil was then hired by the mayor of Ponyville as a temporary night watch, and he began mastering his agility and began to learn how to break fights and persuade. His oral skills became stronger, and his muscles became stronger as breaking fights sometimes gets you into a few. He was happy.

Resolved Issues / Regarding forum lag

Can you get rid of some of the inactive threads containing a thousand youtube videos? Can you make it so that youtube embedding no longer works and you just post links now? Because I am very convinced that the sheer amount of youtube videos within these threads causes most of the lag, whereas in a forum like Dream Theater Forums, there is no lag/no youtube embedding support. If I enter any song where the main idea is to post songs, it is EXTREMELY laggy. I think this should be fixed.

What can you do that not many people can? What kind of insanity do you have? 
(everyone is different somehow.)
I know I'm a Synesthete, which makes it so that if I hear of a sound, read a word, think of a specific letter, name, etc, an abstract or maybe not so abstract image pops into my head.
For instance, pertaining to musical notes:
A- dark red
B- bright red
C- bright blue
D- red
E- yellow
F- brownish-yellow? (I think both brown and yellow, F is fuzzy.)
G- green
other letters (I have to be thinking of the letter by itself, words often have their own colors or images)
I- pure white
J- purple
O- black
P- green
R- red
S- blue
U- purple
Y- yellow
The rest of the letters are fuzzy, unspecifically black, or a color which I cannot describe (H is a light mahogany or something)
Tastes, feelings, and numbers all give me an involuntary image in my head.

Order of Pen, Shield, and Sword
Born in Canterlot, Bright Hat was raised by two snooty parents who's only interest was making him look the best. Bright Hat, however, was a unicorn, and could not stand not being able to try his magic. Not that he didn't enjoy the formal clothing he was given. But he was dying to see what kind of magical talent he had. So he left Canterlot the moment he was allowed to, and made residence in the Everfree forest.
At this time, Bright Hat was around 8 years old, and had yet to find his Cutie Mark. He had gone after a few psychic unicorns to see what his talent would be, but they saw nothing. He went back to his home in Everfree Forest, where another unicorn seemed to be waiting for him.
"Who are you?"
"Why does it matter? You're not leaving." At this time the other pony pulled out a foil. Bright Hat ran into his house and found an old silver foil he bought out of the Canterlot Armory just in case something like that happened. Obviously this other pony had chased him inside, where they met, swords crossed. They fought for a good ten minutes before the other pony started tiring out. At this opportunity Bright Hat knocked the sword out of the unicorn's magic, and held the unicorn in his own magic, and took him outside his house. The other unicorn laughed and said "You have talent. And I don't think you're a blank flank anymore."
The moment he looked down at his flank, astounded to see two interlocking swords, the unicorn teleported away.
After he found out, he immediately left his house again to legally change his name from Bright Hat to Bright Sword.
NOTES: He keeps to himself most of the time, and is also very talented at magic. He always keeps the foil in a sheath on his left flank.[/spoiler]
Bright Pen:
Born a year after his brother Bright Sword, Bright Pen was hooked on reading from his very birth, and never changed his name. He spends hours reading books and more books, but more so than that, writes books for hours and hours. He lives with his brother Bright Sword, and, despite being a year younger, is more mature. Unfortunately he is weak physically, so Bright Sword must protect him.[/spoiler]
Lucid "The Shieldbearer":
Weakness: Reminding him of his failures.
Current Residence: A house between Everfree Forest and Ponyville.
Cutie Mark: A shield deflecting a lightning bolt. (I know it's not there)
Abilities: Controls a massive shield that is virtually unbreakable with his magic. His magic is trained to carry heavy things without problems. Also, he is the only one who can carry the shield, and if it falls, the shield clangs on the ground with a force that normally leaves a crater. He has an incredible ability to know if he is being watched, followed, or if someone is near him in general.
Theme Song:

Lucid was afraid of everything that moved where he lived, so his father gave him a small wooden shield. He went deep into the Everfree Forest, where he found himself caught against several timberwolves. He screamed out and ran, and tried as hard as he could to protect himself with the small shield, but the timberwolves were gaining on him, and his father then found him and dealt with a few of the timberwolves, but it was an entire pack of them.
His father simply told him to run away, and he did. They never saw each other again.
After making it to Ponyville, he decided to get the strongest shield ever to be seen. So he found a strong material deep inside a cave, and paid a blacksmith to create a shield out of every bit of the material. The shield ended up being far too heavy. So Lucid told him not to sell the shield, but keep it for him until he could carry it.
He ran straight to Canterlot to be trained by the Royal Guard to be stronger than any other unicorn. It was terribly rigorous work, but eventually he could lift a ton or two pounds with no trouble. He went back to the blacksmith and took the shield, where he could lift it with almost no problem, both with hs back and with his magic. He then earned his Cutie Mark. Personality: Very protective of his friends. He is mostly softspoken, and any mistake he makes he constantly apologizes for.
Equipment: An enormous shield across the back.
Weakness: Reminding him of his failures.
Current Residence: A house between Everfree Forest and Ponyville.
Cutie Mark: A shield deflecting a lightning bolt.
Abilities: Controls a massive shield that is virtually unbreakable with his magic. His magic is trained to carry heavy things without problems. Equipment: A pen and a notepad.
Weakness: He cannot stand being wrong.
Current Residence: Everfree Forest
Cutie Mark: A scroll.
Abilities: Extremely proficient writer. Can use magic to make his opponent believe what he says. To use that, he must hold the opponent in place, the stare at it in the eyes, and tell it what to believe.

Race: Unicorn
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Personality: Tries to be as humorous as possible, no matter how serious the situation. He has a slight cynical streak.
Equipment: A foil, sheathed on the left flank.
Weakness: Often becomes overconfident and often underestimates.
Current Residence: Everfree Forest
Cutie Mark: Two interlocking foils.
Abilities: Wields a sword with magic. Can basically do anything with the sword.

Born in Canterlot, Bright Hat was raised by two snooty parents who's only interest was making him look the best. Bright Hat, however, was a unicorn, and could not stand not being able to try his magic. Not that he didn't enjoy the formal clothing he was given. But he was dying to see what kind of magical talent he had. So he left Canterlot the moment he was allowed to, and made residence in the Everfree forest.
At this time, Bright Hat was around 8 years old, and had yet to find his Cutie Mark. He had gone after a few psychic unicorns to see what his talent would be, but they saw nothing. He went back to his home in Everfree Forest, where another unicorn seemed to be waiting for him.
"Who are you?"
"Why does it matter? You're not leaving." At this time the other pony pulled out a foil. Bright Hat ran into his house and found an old silver foil he bought out of the Canterlot Armory just in case something like that happened. Obviously this other pony had chased him inside, where they met, swords crossed. They fought for a good ten minutes before the other pony started tiring out. At this opportunity Bright Hat knocked the sword out of the unicorn's magic, and held the unicorn in his own magic, and took him outside his house. The other unicorn laughed and said "You have talent. And I don't think you're a blank flank anymore."
The moment he looked down at his flank, astounded to see two interlocking swords, the unicorn teleported away.

Introductions Archive / You know what I love? + 17 suggestions to the development staff!

When you can find about a game early enough that you can become friends with the community and enjoy almost the entire stretch of progress that the game goes through.
Also, getting a name before it's taken is nice.
I've played a couple of MMO's before, namely FlyFF and ROBLOX, both of which suffer greatly from various causes, the latter being of their childish and immature community (Trying to love them is like trying to love Trixie's attitude, as they do not differ greatly.) and the former being of their poor development staff.
Though this is my first post, I have yet to see any pony in the community flaming, complaining about development, or trolling.
And though development progress is a little vague currently, I have no doubt that this game will flourish through the brony community.
And here I have a couple of suggestions for the development staff (I can only hope it does not fall on deaf ears):
**1: Please, please please PLEASE do not let this game become a grinding game like so many MMOs have become.
2: Don't allow the amount of staff to go down significantly (make some kind of moderator/GM application thing, I don't know). This is the problem with a few MMOs. They loose their staff, but fail to compensate by hiring, so ALL pressure is forced on a couple of people, who themselves might quit because of it.
**3: If you implement a feature in the game, EXPAND on it. Again, this is the problem with a few MMOs. They implement a cool feature, but because it is never expanded on, it starts to lose popularity.
*4: Do not make leveling (if you implement leveling) so difficult that you require a boost for it not to take 6 months (the problem with FlyFF, the ULTIMATE problem.)
**5: If you implement a cash shop (with real money), don't make the boosts so powerful that a pony thinks he/she NEEDS the boost to go forward in the game.
***6: Play the game. This may sound simple, but with some games, their development staff never plays the game to see how great (or how poor) their new feature ACTUALLY is.
***7: Play with the community. Have fun with the community! Listen to what the community has to say, in the game if possible. Makes the ponies think that you are having just as much fun as they are.
8: Fix bugs that give players accidental power ASAP. Basically this means that if a player can become more powerful through a bug, FIX THE BUG.
9: Don't make the future a total secret. Let out a few spoilers, to heighten the suspense of a new version. This keeps many ponies from quitting.
*10: Give the ponies individuality. A few games I have played have entire groups that all do the exact same thing to get to the end.
11: If any kind of armor + coverup fashion thing happens, don't let the fashion become a cash-shop only item.
*12: IF there is a cash-shop, make it so that the pony can get the exact same items in regular shops, for whatever the in-game currency is.
**13: Give individuality to the enemies. Now THIS is something I can't stress enough. I hate having to defeat the same enemies over and over again. It's like some queen monster laid like 1000+ eggs then just let them all hatch. Oh by the way they are all identical twins. Unfortunately this request would be one of the most difficult to carry out.
14: Don't make the loops of music only 1-2 minutes long.
*15: Make a LOT of skills, each with their own little perk, so that ponies can choose their preferred gameplay and so that people can again be very individual.
*16: Make the quests more than just defeating an amount of the same monster or fetching items from the same monster, a terrible cliche in many MMOs.
***17: Let us donate to you! You don't know how much we like the idea of this game.
These are the only requests I could think of. I can only hope that some of these might be carried out, perhaps even before the full game is released.
I also hope that this game doesn't fall to the cliches of most MMOs.
This game has A LOT of potential, and I am very glad we have this much of a (great) community before the game has even gone into Alpha.
