Amateur review incoming:

The majority of the film was alright at best. It's a standard adventure story that we've heard a million times, the comedy was mostly sub-par and the characters were mostly bland and fairly uninteresting. It was entertaining to see Batman portrayed as a stereotypical 2edgy teen, but that's about it.
The visuals were a ton of fun, the set designs were all immensely creative and were definitely the strong point of the film up until the final act.

The final act is what took the movie from being 'O.K' to being fantastic. It's hard to say much without spoiling the reveal, so I'll just say that they took an extremely mature route with how they handled this climax. It would have been so easy for them to rehash the same tired tropes you see in any kid's adventure movie. But the message they get across is powerful and there more for adults than for kids.

This film is easy to recommend for kids because they'll get a kick out of the silly comedy as well as the visuals and they get a heartwarming ending to top it off.
It's not often that I can recommend a kids film to an older audience that wasn't made by Pixar or Dreamworks, but that's because most kids films are uninspired and pander to whatever will make money. The Lego movie is worth it for adults for the final act alone because, no matter how old you are, you're bound to take something from it.

I'm putting this as bluntly as I can.

This is stupid.  In fact, any petitions like this is stupid......the money that it would take for something like this(trust me, it's alot) could be used for better and more productive things....

What, are you saying that you don't think that spending tax dollars on a golden cartoon horse effigy is the most effective fiscal decision a Government could make?

It's not like we need money or anything.

muh economy

Here's a thought: How about we make a REAL MLP movie that ACTUALLY ties into the show and builds upon the story, instead of just making another alternate-universe sideshow that the actually show just pretends never happened.

Call me crazy....

Why waste time telling a comprehensive story when you can promote your Monster High rip off toys with a shoddy, phoned-in movie?

Spoiler: show

It worked for them once, so there's no need to take a risk and change the formula.

What's Common Core?

From my five minute Googleing, I think it's the Government's way of improving national test scores. Because test scores are apparently the most important thing about school, teachers are being forced to teach a pre-planned lesson syllabus to bring up scores. In turn, kids learn to hate school more than they already do, and learn even less than they previously would because all we seem to care about is the national average of test scores.
Effectively, education is being nationalized; every student across the country will be learning the exact same thing, regardless of expectations, and the expectations of common core standards seem pretty pathetic.
At least, this is what I got from my Goolgeing.

At any rate, I'm glad I'm in college.

Now, as I'm sure all of you know, the United States uses the Fahrenheit scale, while the rest of the world uses the Celsius scale. Most Americans have at least rudimentary understanding of the Celsius scale, but apparently not this girl, when reading that Colombia has a typical climate of 20-30 degrees, she assumed that was Fahrenheit temperatures...really. For those not familiar with the Fahrenheit scale, 20-30 degrees Fahrenheit is below freezing.

So, in her infinite wisdom, Colombia girl glues two pictures of a frozen, snowy tundra to her poster board with the phrase "Mucho Frio!" in big black letters over the Colombian flag....really. Even if you are completely ignorant of the Celsius scale, anyone with even the slightest grasp of reality knows there is nothing 'mucho frio' about a country that's almost right on the equator.

Oh God, that's funny.

I really, really hate free online IQ tests. First of all they are highly inaccurate and always give stupidly inflated scores. There's no way 20 questions with no time limit can give you an accurate result. When I was 16 I took a REAL IQ test in psychology class. Since then I've scored significantly higher on all of the online tests I've taken. For those who believe these inflated results all it serves to do is inflate their ego.

I've always considered it a safe bet to knock 20 off of any publicly stated IQ. If you notice in any forum thread about IQs EVERYONE claims IQs of 120+. Bullspit. Where is the other 89.5 percent of humanity? Can they not find the internet?

Really, all these inaccurate IQ tests serve to do is create snobs who think their fake IQ gives them some intellectual high-ground.

If an IQ test doesn't ask for your age, that's the best way to know it's worthless. A person's IQ stays relatively stagnant throughout their lifetime as the test itself doesn't test a person's knowledge, but their capacity for retaining knowledge.

That being said, IQ tests are generally flawed and worthless regardless, even if they are legitimate.

Don't you think it would be a little.....repeated?  o.O

Repetitive, yes. But as long as the show brings in a profit for Hasbro, I can't imagine them letting it go until the well runs dry.
