Weird, I honestly wouldn't know why thats happening without poking at it myself, you might as well just try redownloading it and see if that works, also use a different extractor if thats the issue (which seems unlikely but it could be)

Hmm well if its corrupted that most likely means you didn't download the file fully so it cant extract it. Is your zip like around 558mb?

Yes the 32 bit version should work, but they are not using the same version of unity as the previous version I believe and that might've broken it or something. Either way just saying"it doesn't work" is pretty non-specific and doesn't really help anyone diagnose the potential issue.

Well seeing that windows xp is now a completely dead os that is 13 years old now, I wouldn't rely much on its ability to run things like unity.

While it is all "back end", PHP is commonly embedded into html which is classified as more front-end development. Also, without knowledge of how php works communicating to any back-end scripts with something like JS would be a lot more difficult.

What's funny is that with most people thinking like that the most bearable servers are actually the ones with the highest ping from physical location because they generally have the least load on them (though theres a point I'd assume where the load starts effecting the ping response time lol). I mean a 100ms difference in ping from connecting to somewhere a few thousand more miles away really isn't going to affect the heated "gameplay" I'd assume, and really the most annoying part about playing the osws is the random disconnects from the servers exploding/being restarted if anything.

Either way get da hype, I'm sure I'm going to have a blast :p

I think the issue is really the strictness of the rules around here. A self moderated irc chat by the community itself wouldn't require such huge amounts of moderation by the actual staff but the need to control everything related to this game (officially) is causing the issues. Irc is also better in a lot of ways than whatever crazy ajax system that was using (repeated post request and xml data output) and would allow not only better bandwidth usage (assuming its even hosted here) but also people to use their own clients and such rather than the crappy in browser one.

Yea same. It was a 500 before it vanished so I think they are changing it most likely (I wonder if they actually took my IRC suggestion). Or maybe its just broken.

Besides, the code is more optimized this time around and the servers are better at handling things, to some extent. Plus, login is doing a lot better this time as far as I could see. thank you all for addressing these issues BTW.

Most likely the issue you're suffering is probably either server overload (causing large number of packet to be processed / more ponies to render), or your graphics card and/or driver is not as compatible with this game as it could be (stuff like this does happen from time to time.)  because I suffered very little lag issues outside of swarms of ponies.


The game itself uses an acceptable amount of ram for a mmo as it is storing a ton of models directly into the ram but honestly I dont see why it takes 23% of a 3770k i7 to render static models with no other players ingame, either something is really messed up or I just have no perception of how much cpu a mmo should use.
The servers themselves are absolute crap at handling a ton of players for some reason, probably because they aren't actual mmo servers and just for testing (some of them even have just empty apache webservers on them for no reason indicating that they were probably set up without much care for their quality) or perhaps because there were just simply too many people trying to get in at one time (and having everything relying on a single mysql database for stuff like passhashes is what was causing a ton of those old login issues due to like too many connections).

Still tho I shouldn't have to try connecting to every server twice to atleast get into one and then having one halfway across the globe be the one that actually works, but I guess thats just the price to pay for having servers open only for "testing" 1% of year

I doubt that you can teleport like that as far as you can see, I bet there will be a range limit and a cooldown.

If there is a race imblance it wont really matter, unless the number of people in one affects how successful they are, if so, I've seen other games put a tax system using data from the race sizes in comparasion to other ones to make them equal.
