Notice that in the episodes after the wedding episode Shining and Cadance didn't wear the rings? I don't think that there should be a ring in the game.

I actually noticed a potential easy answer for this a while back.

Remember in Hearts and Hooves Day when Big Mac is shopping for a ring?  Looking at the sizes of the ones in the shop, I would say non-unicorns where them on their hooves.

I agree with my friend here; I think non-unicorns would were them around their arms as bracelets.

Considering ponies don't have fingers that technically wasn't a ring. It was a bracelet. So basically they wear bracelets when they marry , and other ponies put it on their hooves. Simple.

ok guys some poeple are suggesting it goes on earth ponies' and pegasi's hooves. but if the "ring" was on their hoof, wouldn't it be more of a bracelet???  maybe only unicorns can use rings and get married or maybe in the royal wedding they only had rings because it was a royal wedding. perhaps normal weddings that aren't royal don't have sparkly things like rings or crowns and such like the royal wedding did.

They wear the ring on their tails, silly. Right at the base of the tail so you can never see it... unless your looking for a mate.

Non-Pegesi probably wear something like an amulet, which looks like the ones Big Mac was looking at in Hearts and Hooves day. The Alicorn Amulet that Trixie used in Magic Duel looked similar in size and shape, as do the Elements of Harmony. In any case, they probably don't wear them after the wedding ceremony.

I would like to raise the point that Cupcake and Carrot Cake are married but don't wear their rings.  I also just what to say that the ring might just be for show.  The Bride and Groom/Bride and Bride/Groom and Groom might just take off the rings and keep them in a safe plase some where in their house after they get home. 
As for my opinion on how rings are worn by different ponies...
Unicorn-> On the Horn
Pegesus-> On the Wing
Earth Pony-> On a Necklace
