Mindless Violins Pyrite bug

Really want a cat egg, so I was doing the Mindless Violins quest. However, when Pyrite requests to find more info on the object, the quest marker does not change and Pyrite keeps repeating the same dialogue. I followed the wiki to talk to the ponies that would be next on the quest, but they do not have any quest dialogue to give me. Went back to Pyrite and he still repeats the same things and quest marker is not changing.

yup had the same problem, i finished the quest without the part where you need to go to fire opal and now i cant get the cat egg

I had this same problem. I went through every single conversation option, and eventually found one where he asked something along the lines of whether or not I had time to find information on the object for him and responded with something like "I don't, c'ya". THEN I was able to proceed in the quest.

His quest marker didn't go away, though. But I was able to finally go talk to Swifty.

Same here.
I'm stuck where i can't talk to Silver-Hoof. No matter how many times i try, the scene won't continue after i ask for info about the statue.

I have answers to all of this. To complete Pyrite's part, go through all of the options and see if there is one that says "About that statue..."

About the Silver-Hoof error, talk to Scribble first. It works.
