The application is just taking its time "extracting" at the moment.

If this keeps up, I'll download 0.2 and see what happens. Other than that, no problems so far.

Windows Launcher is doing it's thing. There was no "game" folder in the .zip file. It's installing the 122 updates now.

I see Natfoth had updated the Launcher. Is it necessary I move from Version 0.1 to Version 0.2?

For a "party" you guys added/fixed/updated A LOT of stuff. Waiting for these changelogs is now my whole life. I'm so giddy reading it!!

When you say that Monsters and Enemy Ponies can now "speak" does this mean . . . voice acting?

I just realized this is in less than a month. BY LUNA'S MANE!!!

I'll also be posting some stuff to handle Norton antivirus. Keep a cartoon eye open on the LoE Discussions page.

Then I'll throw my hat into the ring!

Forum name: O. Vannen

Age: 20

Experience: . . .

Why would you make a good moderator?: While I have really no experience as a moderator, I have spent my entire life working alone and with people in various environments, ranging from volunteer work, to multiple leadership positions in the BSA, to a number of musical ensembles through high school and college, with the intent to lead one of my own in the future. I take well to new actions and am able to turn around and help someone else for the most part. I'm a thinker before acting; I take in as much information as possible as an unbiased observer before performing an action, unless time dictates I move NOW. I will consult a fellow mod or two or report higher should a situation grow too large or out-of-the-norm. After-action reports will be submitted. I have an incredible amount of patience. So, if a player/forum user turns on me, because [reasons], I won't let them get under my skin. I try not to beat around the bush and should a fellow mod or two agree, then I will ban/kick the player/forum user, but if I don't have to, I won't. If I can set them straight and send them on their way, they can still play.

Anything else you would like us to know?: I aim to please, I will follow your rules to the letter (I wouldn't have it any other way) and I intend to enforce said rules with a firm, but gentle (digital) hand. As a possible future moderator, I intend to help make Legends of Equestria a safe environment and help maintain it as a positive face of the MLP fandom. While, yes, I am a Music Education major, I intend to dedicate as much time as is necessary and then some to being a moderator. Possible future fellow mods can still contact me even while I'm offline, should they need another opinion. If I can, I'm quick to offer some help (like guide somepony out of the Evershade) and am happy to do so. In all honesty, I really look forward to the eventual release of this project and even if I can't help make it into a reality, I would like to make it a place where friends can come hang out and play the game undeterred. I'd love the experience as a moderator as I believe it may benefit me outside of the game itself. While I may be a bit (or really) quirky at times, I tend to stay focused on the task at hand, but in the end I'm all for making sure there's fun to be had.

Plus, I get a lantern.  *squee*

Is previous citable moderation experience an absolute? Unfortunately, the closest I've come to "moderating" is watching chat on OSWs (yes, I realize modding is more than just watching chat and being a guide). Regardless, if possible, I'd love to be a part of something like this.
Many thanks

*waves hands in the air*

On a more serious note, give yourselves a pat on the back. Yes, I mean it. You are in ALPHA!! You are one step closer to completing the LARGEST PONY-RELATED PROJECT in the fandom.

Everyone here, from programmers to modelers to animators, has received IMMENSE experience from such a project. And it looks DANG GOOD (too bad my laptop has a crappy graphics card).

Oh, and what's this you say? More? Or rather, "plenty more?" By Celestia's beard, I look forward to it.

Much love to all of the crew and the best of luck to the continued development of Legends of Equestria!
(Don't get stressed out over people asking for a full release or even more open-server time, I'll take it when it comes  ^-^ )

You forgot one thing in the Changelog

An increase in horsing around

"An increase in horsing around." I see what you did there.

Also, was the Crystal Heart in the last OSW?

Unshorn fetlocks. I'd look forward to that option.

First off, Norton is a finicky service. When downloads went up, I had no problems downloading the Windows Launcher and extracting all the updates. This morning, Norton decides to do a "security scan" and quarantines several files.

While the option to "restore" is available, it's pretty much impossible to return the files to their original locations undamaged or intact.

Instead, you will need to set Norton to not read the folder you've designated to save your download to or set Norton not to read anything, prior to downloading the game.

The Immediate Remedy: "Silent Mode"
Prior to download, click on the little Norton icon among your volume, wi-fi, battery, and other icons in the lower right corner of your desktop-
This will take you to a sort of home area for Norton, click "Settings" near the upper right corner of the window-
On the right side should be a list of "Quick Controls," with "Silent Mode" topping the list-
[Recommendation] Set the timer to the longest just to give you plenty of time to download the necessary files and run the game.

(Possible) Long-Term Remedy: "Items to Exclude"
Prior to download, create a dedicated folder to save your download to, remember where this folder is located-
Again, click the little Norton icon and head to "Settings"-
On the left should be a group of icons labled "Detailed Settings," click "Antivirus," which should be the first-
You will find three tabs, click the middle tab labeled "Scans and Risks"-
Scroll all the way down to "Exclusions/Low Risks"-
"Items to Exclude from Scans" and "Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR and Download Intelligence Detection" should be in the list under "Exclusions/Low Risks"-
For "Exclude from Scans," click "Configure [ + ]," "Add Folders," and choose the folder you designated for your download . . . you did that, right?- :/
Do the same for "Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR . . ."-
Your folder should now be "safe" from Norton's scans now.

Both Remedies should work with any of the Windows downloads, including the Windows Launcher. (I don't use a Mac)

The last OSW, I think I only used "Silent Mode," but this time around, Norton seems to be a bit more aggressive. I eventually just designated a folder to keep Norton from scanning LoE's files.

I apologize for, pretty much, shoving this information down your throats. Hopefully you just didn't have any problems with Norton, but if you did, let me know if it worked or not or if the instructions were unclear.

Please do post your thoughts, though, I'll make sure to post this (and any new information) before the next OSW. (Mac users, take note)

LOVING ALL THE UPDATES!!!

Update: Windows Launcher works as intended, launching the game in a fraction of the time as downloading the entire .zip file. I hope to see its continued use in the future.

The launcher will download the files, unpack them into the proper folders and update the game for you. It's significantly smaller in size than downloading the entire project and I would recommend it over just downloading the project outright.

Edit: To clarify, you'll end up with the same files as those who downloaded directly, but it'll likely be faster and less traffic heavy to use the launcher.

I look forward to testing it.   X3

Edit: Looks to be working smoothly so far, need to go to bed, though. Will let updates install while I sleep. Thanks again!

Oh, sweet Luna, I almost missed this announcement!! Downloading NOW.

. . .

What is the "Windows Launcher?" Is it required to run LoE or is it designed to enhance something? Many thanks!!
