MLP: FiM SD Archive / What Happened to that little owl friend

Hi, been watching MLP lately (HUGE FAN) and a thought came to mind after watching the Tierk episodes... What every happened to Owlowiscious?. I know after Tirek destroyed the Library there was a scene of Twilight letting him fly off into the sky?. Did he go back to living in nature?, being a free Owl? Or does he just not show up all to much in the show anymore?. Anyone got answers?.
